Guest Reviews
- Paul (10/5): - Everything was perfect
- Adam (10/5): A fantastic, relaxing and scenic retreat - Our stay at Bluebell Cottage was wonderful - it was very remote, quiet and peaceful. Just what we’d wanted. The surrounding views were beautiful and the cottage itself was kitted out with all the amenities and to a high standard. The hosts were friendly and attentive and greeted us upon arrival. Overall a great visit and a wonderful base to explore North Yorkshire. Nothing to dislike - we plan to visit again and visit more of the local area
- louise (10/5): - This was our 2nd stay because we'd enjoyed it so much 1st time around. We'd happily stay here again. The gravel trap for the car - manoeuvring was difficult for our sports car.
Drainage for the shower could be improved.
- john (10/5): Lovely, wonderful and will definitely go back. It’s an amazing location and I highly recommend it. 😁 - It was beautiful and cosy and ultra clean. The view at the rear was amazing and we loved the location. Nothing
- Creighton (10/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): We will definitely be visiting again 👌 - Greeted on arrival by a lovely host. We loved everything about the property and it’s surroundings. Absolutely stunning! Thank you. N/A
- cathy (8/5): Great hosts and cute little property - Location was excellent. Bedroom and bed super comfy. The sofa was kind of mean and uncomfortable- in an otherwise lovely space. The shower was great although the screen printed glass wall felt cold and exposing.
- Richard (10/5): Bluebells Cottage - Beautiful location. Great hosts. Very comfortable indeed.
- Griffiths (5/5): Stay was fine. But the internet reception was poor. - Clean and good for walks . Didn’t realise it wasn’t in chop gate. No internet , very poor tv service. Had to leave a day early as power went off completely 2pm on the Sunday afternoon
- Chris (8/5): Great Cosy Cottage - Perfect location for walk across North Yorks Dale's, walked straight from property.
Beautiful cosy Cottage all the amenities you need for a couple of nights relaxation.
Would definitely recommend staying here Signage and directions to the house need to be improved. House is not in Chop Gate but in Urra, which we were unaware of.
The name 'Bluebells Cottage' never appeared anywhere. We did raise this with owners, and he assured us this would be rectified.
It took us over an hour to find the accommodation once we reached Chop Gate, after knocking on several other people's property asking for help.
- Tillie (10/5): Money well spent! - The cottage was in a lovely secluded area with lots of wildlife. The cottage itself was lovely with everything you could need for both a long and short stay (towels, bath robes, washing machine, dishwasher, smart TV, salt and pepper, sugar, tea/ coffee, and more). Both the hosts were welcoming and kind, jumping at any opportunity to help us. That we didn't book longer! haha :)
- Craig (10/5): Really relaxing little cottage - Amazing scenery with views of the meadows and hills. Peaceful atmosphere and sounds of nature. Cottage was cosy and had all the facilities we required. The bed was really comfortable and soft. I came to relax and I managed to do just that. We went undisturbed and had everything we needed. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival.
At first the bathroom door being glass shocked me but it wasn't a deal breaker in the end as we were in a secluded private area. Everything else was amazing. Thank you for having us.
- Louise (10/5): Super short stay, would have liked to stay longer - Excellent location for us. Great property, real attention to detail and quality in how the cottage had been renovated and equipped. Nothing
- Nicholas (10/5): Great place to unwind - Beautiful cottage in a stunning location
- Stephen (9/5): Superb - Amazing location, just what we were looking for
- Nicola (9/5): Magical, warm, and cosy - Beautiful property in perfect location to explore local villages and local walks If anything; the sofa wasn’t the most comfortable
- Terence (9/5): Wonderful property in fantastic rural location - Very cosy, quant cottage, set in a beautiful location. Nice big comfortable bed, nice powerful shower and wonderful underfloor heating. Hard to dislike anything about this place. One thing we thought was missing was some signage at the entrance gate to say Bluebells Cottage. As you drive down there is only a sign saying Private Property no entry!
- Ratswivwings (10/5): relaxing hideaway, excellent for couples who enjoy good walks in peaceful surroundings - lovely house with private garden. The cottage was well kitted out with essentials, very comfortable bed and fantastic shower. The underfloor heating was appreciated as was the ability to have a fire outside in October. Hosts were helpful and respectful of privacy and it was nice to have the opportunity to walk around the fields. Phone signal is poor but that was a bit of bonus. Its a great place to unwind and relax in!
- Lee (10/5): Lovely little cottage - Good location for the Cleveland way, good bed, nice outdoor area Nothing
- Steve (8/5): Nice place in a great location - Great location for visiting some amazing places around the area.
The hosts were really friendly and helpful.
The cottage has some nice decor and loved the back patio area with the sound of the stream trickling by. A small complimentary welcome pack of milk, eggs etc. would have been appreciated, no oven gloves were located and had a bit of a shock when opened oven to find six cooked spring rolls had been left, probably by the previous guests.
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - The location was wonderful and peaceful perfect for exploring the area. The decor was beautiful and the hosts were very friendly. We had a lovely weekend stay.
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional - The peace and tranquility. It was very private with excellent facilities
- Gill (10/5): Stunning location. Warm beautifully presented cottage - Beautiful location with lovely views out of the windows and from the terrace.
Well equipped kitchen. Excellent shower.
Cottage was beautifully warm
- Steven (10/5): Amazing surroundings - So beautifully tranquil and amazing eye for detail, highly recommend this place
- Gabrielle (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location for exploring the north york moors and the coast. The cottage was stunning, comfortable bed and wonderful shower with lovely outdoor patio. Lots of walks nearby. Would definitely stay again!
- Natalie (10/5): The most beautiful location, thankyou to the lovely owners for letting us share their wonderful home for a couple of day - Beautiful, tasteful, cosy, idyllic Everything was perfect
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - The location was lovely. Very peaceful. The owners were helpful and friendly.
- Emma (10/5): Beautiful and tranquil property and location. - The owner kindly greeted us on arrival. He told us where we can park the car and then showed us into the property informing us of the lockbox for the keys. It was a beautiful area and so peaceful with your own outdoor space. The cottage is lovely with modern amenities but also has amazing character. After a thunderstorm knocked out the power, Dave (the owner) quickly helped us to restore the WiFi and checked everything else was working. He was very friendly and approachable. The mobile and internet signal is very limited in this area on arrival but it is no problem once logged onto the WiFi once in the property. So just make sure that you have the arrival information sent by the owner saved so you don't need internet access. We found this out the hard way, luckily Dave was ready and waiting for our arrival.
- David (10/5): Lovely area lovely self catering apartment - The area was nice quiet. Lovely location.the self catering was lovely clean Nothing not to like
- Sally (9/5): Superb -
- Marius (9/5): Superb -
- Pam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (7/5): Good - Decor was very nice, comfortable bed, pretty area situated, Difficult to find in the first instance, difficult exit onto a very busy road, and dangerous road.
Numerous problems, ie: dirty grill pan left in oven, no welcome pack, limited hanging space, television ariel not connected, could not make calls on telephone, towels , no drying radiator.
