- Marc (6/5): - It was very hot in Des Moines {93 degrees) and the AC units could not keep the apartment cool. The AC units were in each bedroom and the living room and kitchen never got comfortable. There is a 3 inch drop down step to get to the bathroom. it needs to be better marked. Either that, or a nite lite in the bathroom.

- Faith Wolfe (10/5): Quiet, clean, great location. - Super clean and perfect for what we needed. Quiet location. Older building, so it has its quirks, but we really liked it.
- Robina (4/5): It was one of our worst experiences of rental lodging. - We really liked the location. We texted the contact person about some basic needs and 4 days later still NO reply! This has never happened. Unacceptable. And it was noisy! Traffic noise and extremely loud AC units! And there is NO SHOWER!!! Just a tub and a wand but with no stand for it! So bathing was a chore and not relaxing!
- Karen (10/5): Adorable neighborhood, adorable apartment - I was worried when I read the reviews so I was pleasantly surprised when I stayed here. The neighborhood is in a historic area - close to restaurants and grocery store. It is very safe to walk around in, especially if you want to see the beautiful old homes. The building is old so don't go in expecting a hyper modern apartment. The ac is a contraption in the rooms and they do a pretty good job of keeping the place cool. The apartment was very clean and it was nice having a full kitchen. My daughter and I took advantage of the nice old-fashioned tub and it was easy enough to wash your hair with the nozzle. It was very relaxing and it was a quiet area. (Well except for the neighbors above who must have had a furniture moving competition one night. haha They were fine the other nights.) Parking on the side street is easy. Overall, a pleasant stay and I'm glad we stayed there. Needs more full sized silverware, a bigger frying pan, and more mugs. We were able to make do with what we had though.

- Mary (4/5): Cheap hostel feel with lots of stairs, an outdated bathroom and lots of amenities that don’t look up to code. - The location I should have canceled right away. I noticed a $25 pet fee added to my stay. I asked for it to be removed. The owner said Booking.com needed to fix it. Booking.com said that they couldn’t change my total before my stay. Um, why not? So, they said they would refund after the stay. I agreed for some reason. Now, weeks later, Booking agrees it was an error and said they would issue refund. However, they instead gave me a credit to use at Booking. They did not refund as stated. The apartment itself was a disappointment. It’s on the 3rd floor and the stairs are outside. The stairs are small and steep. Also very dirty. The air conditioning is in portable units in the bedrooms. They have rigged a plastic pipe to feed through an added wood slat in window. Both units had mold. The lights flickered when it kicked on… I looked up at light and noticed the smoke detector was missing from its casing. The house smells of old cigarette smoke. My daughter had ants in her room. The dressers in both rooms had broken drawers. House was hot and humid away from the a/c units. Bathroom is small. Shower is inside a very tall tub , hard to get in and out. Old dirty shower curtains. You can’t actually shower, you have to sit in tub for shower attachment to reach. The kitchen faucet broke off in my hands and door handle looked ready to come off. Felt like a very cheap youth hostel. Many people would have trouble with the stairs and the tub accessibility.

- Evans (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Very clean and spacious. Felt like a decently lived in modern space which has it's own charms instead of a generic hotel feel. Parking can be a bit goofy but that's not really the properties fault at all. There's plenty of room just can occasionally get boxed in.

One hand hold the shower, one hand for shampoo Beds on floor. No bed frame. Temperature in living room and kitchen. No ac. Only ac in rooms. Pictures on booking.com didn't match actual apartment. Network speed was slow. Barely able to stream.

Fortunately I am able-bodied but anyone who isn't would have a problem if on the top floor and especially if carrying luggage.

We didn't know whether to come to the front or back. We wish the tub had a shower feature that allowed a "stand up" shower.

- Rhonda (3/5): Don’t do it, it was trap!! - I liked that it was in walking distance to all the food, breweries and that we wanted to visit It was 3 flights of stairs we had to climb, no hot water, the shower was so small, someone left the windows open and there were Beatles, spiders and roaches. The neighbor played loud music late and I don’t know what they were doing but it sounded like they were coming through the wall. Oh and the hospital across the street.. the helicopter that came through twice a night was so loud.

The only thing I would recommend is that the light from the other complex had lights on all night shinning in the window. There are blinds on the window but maybe a dark curtain but nothing unmanageable while we were there.
