• Li (10/5): A clean, comfortable and well-equipped home with a very thoughtful and helpful host. - The house was very clean, tidy and comfortable. Everything was well prepared, and we really appreciated the thoughtful details throughout the home. The host provided many useful items, including cooking seasonings, eggs, bacon, milk, cereals, chocolates and more. It made our stay feel very welcoming and convenient. Nothing really. We had a very pleasant stay and everything met our expectations.

• Echo41030 (10/5): Highly recommended. - We had a really great stay at McCracken Homestay. The room was spotless, very comfortable, and had almost everything you could think of. You could really feel how thoughtful and caring the host was, with so many small details prepared so well. Breakfast was also a lovely touch, with bread, bacon, eggs, and strawberry jam from Beerenberg Farm, which made the stay feel extra special. The property also had table tennis, a piano, and bicycles, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Overall, this was a very clean, welcoming, and well prepared place to stay. • Jon (10/5): Everything you’d expect, plus so much more. - Comfortable and they’ve thought of so many extra little things to make your stay enjoyable . The Kitchen has absolutely everything you could hope for from crockery, barbecue with two gas bottles, breakfast ingredients such as pancake mix bacon and eggs and cereal, to a whole lot of kitchen items like herbs and spices that are very helpful for cooking. The converted Garage into games room has a lot to keep you busy on a wet day. We played pool, table tennis, darts, and never even touched the board games. There are also two mountain bikes that might be useful. Fantastic shower too! On or two maintenance issues that you might expect with a home that’s about thirty years old. Nothing that would stop me from going a second time.

Unfortunately we were just in town for one night, but could easily spend 1 week+ here with family/friends! There was plenty space for everyone to be comfortable, and plenty of entertainment.

• Molly (10/5): A True ‘Home Away From Home’ in a Hidden Gem Location, and Exceptional Hosts. - The hosts are exceptional and have truly thought of every detail to make the stay comfortable, convenient, and genuinely enjoyable in this delightful home away from home. Hands down one of the best stays we’ve ever had. The house was impeccably clean, beautifully furnished, and filled with plenty of purposeful space. Almost every drawer or cupboard we opened was followed by “oh my gosh, how thoughtful they even have this!”. We were so touched by the welcome gifts on arrival and the well stocked pantry with all those little essentials you don’t want to buy on holiday, along with complimentary breakfast items such a lovely and generous touch. With extreme heat forecast over the Australia Day long weekend, the hosts had already prepared the house by closing the blinds, which we really appreciated. The air-conditioning worked perfectly on both floors, and there were fans in every bedroom. The courtyard is absolutely perfect for enjoying a quiet coffee in the morning or relaxing in the evening. The location is fantastic, in a quiet neighbourhood and an easy walk to the supermarket, golf course, beaches, and Victor Harbor. It’s clear the owners have put genuine care and attention into every aspect of this home. We felt so well looked after and truly hope to return one day. Highly recommended! N/A

• Tanya (10/5): Fantastic stay!! Everything you need and more - One of the best home stays we’ve ever stayed in. So well stocked with every little thing you could ever need. Pantry full of supplies so you don’t have to go and buy random things. Comfortable and super spacious but with a cozy feel too. Lovely quiet neighbourhood, very close to supermarket and short distance to beach. TVs in each bedroom meant hubby could watch the cricket in peace. Kids loved the garage full of activities. The owners have thought of absolutely everything. Highly recommend!! The main bed was a little firm for our liking, but that’s a preference thing.

• Pratap (10/5): Perfect place for a family vacation outside your home. - The property is maintained very nicely keeping every detail in mind meticulously. Kitchen has everything you could think of, like all other rooms. Garage is converted into a little play zone with pool table, table tennis, dart board, and many more things. We couldn’t finding anything that we didn’t like really.

• Bhuvana (9/5): Family holiday at McCraken Homestay - We (4 adults and 2 children) stayed here for a short family holiday (3 nights). The place was beautiful, nice and clean. We got welcomed with a bottle of wine and chocolates. It was such a lovely gesture by the hosts. Rooms were spacious enough with plenty of pillows, cushions, throws, and blankets. The kitchen was well stocked with breakfast staples and usual pantry stuff. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots pans, baking trays, cleaning supplies, etc. Garage had a pool table, tt table, darts, bikes, and even a piano. There were plenty of board games and books to keep the whole family engaged. The hosts were promptly available when we reached out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend this place for a family stay. There wasn't anything that we didn't like, but a couple of suggestions/feedback: 1. Since there are 2 properties at the same address, it would be great if the address is suitably modified to reflect the property that has been booked. 2. The pedestal fan in one of the rooms (with bunk bed) was not enough for a hot (36°C) summer day. 3. The formal lounge did not have a fan or AC, just a bit uncomfortable for a hot, stuffy day.
• Lauren (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, spacious, comfortable house that is not too far from the beach and a short drive to the city centre. Quiet location. Loved the breakfast provisions. Only had one night there so didn’t get time to use the games room or bikes but they would have been great to use for a longer stay. Great communication/instructions from Camille. The only thing is the flashing fairy lights in the backyard overnight lit the room up in the back bedroom even with the blinds drawn down. Probably not a problem for most people but for myself I’m a light sleeper so was affected by them.

The separate lounge was great so we could all spread out and not feel like we were under each others feet. The hosts made us feel so welcome and thought of everything, they provided snacks, breakfast items, coffee machine! The place is styled beautifully and the games room was a big hit with the kids. We will definitely be back!! The main bedroom bed is small but only because we are used to our King bed at home. There was literally nothing else we didn’t love.

• Sharina (10/5): Such thoughtful hosts provided a place for forced relaxations. They have thought of everything! - The hosts gave a welcome gift and had the cupboards stocked with extra condiments and other practical cook ware and drink ware etc. There were games, DVDs, extra towels, linen and blankets, There were facilities to wash your clothes, including laundry powder. I packed everything I needed to cook a Christmas roast but I could have just walked in to the fully stocked kitchen and cooked without bringing anything. It exceeded my expectations. The location was private and tranquil feeling, as if there weren't any neighbours. We used the house as though it were a family members. The kids loved the games room with a pool table and table tennis board and darts etc. The only thing I wished it had was a hosiery bag to wash my delicates however the rest of the house was stocked so beautifully, it felt like home.
