Guest Reviews
- Becky (6/5): Could be so much better. - It was well located, just a 10 minute walk into the centre of York. It was a good size for 2 people. The shower was good and the property heated up quickly when turning the central heating on. It was difficult to find when we arrived in the dark. The parking space numbering was not clear until daylight and we had consequently parked in the wrong space. A map/photo would have been helpful to show the property location and parking space and would have saved us driving round for several minutes trying to find it.
The property was fairly clean but the less frequent cleaning jobs had been neglected (cobwebs and dust on ceiling light shades, window blinds were very dusty). There were also lots of scuff marks on the walls which made the apartment look generally uncared for.
There was no washing up liquid, so we had to buy some. Also there was no spray to wipe the kitchen worktops down for food preparation. There was a washing up bowl in the cupboard under the sink but it had a dustpan and brush in it for use on the floor. We didn’t use it as we couldn’t hygienically clean it first.
There were only single electrical sockets next to the beds and all of them were in use for the bedside lamps and the router in the small bedroom. We had to buy two extension leads to be able to charge phones etc.
Given the above, we felt that our stay was quite expensive and we were a little disappointed. With some effort, it could be such a lovely place to stay.
- David (8/5): Would use again. - Location was good for our planned weekend stay, flat was tidy and the area was relatively quiet. Kitchen cooking pans were "tired" and had been well used. Also, although the rooms was clean little attention had been given to the blinds or smears on the glass table tops.
- Peter (9/5): Great location just outside the walls. - Comfortable and plenty of space for the 3 of us.
- Emma (9/5): Would recommend - Great place to stay in York, we normally use a hotel when we stay in York but I don't think I would again after staying here. Fantastic to have own kitchen and sitting room. Was quite easy to find and short walk into city.
- Zhenya (8/5): - Overall, I am satisfied with my stay. The place met my expectations and provided a comfortable experience. Everything was generally clean and well-maintained. I would consider staying here again in the future. There was no hairdryer, vacuum cleaner in the house.
- Vanessa (10/5): Had a great time. Would recommend this property. - Great property in a great location with only a short walk into the city centre. Very clean and well maintained. Towels provided as well as a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, sugar and cookies so we were able to make a hot drink on arrival, which was great! Nothing!
- Katherine (9/5): A great location, with lots to see and visit close by. - An ideal location for York city centre. Great that it had its own parking spot. A very quiet location
- Mark (8/5): Other than those two significant incidents it was an enjoyable stay. - Location and free parking were ideally located for a 10 min walk into the heart of the City. Central heating at least 3 times woke us up with a continuous loud banging/clattering noise which sounded as if there was air blockages throughout the circuit! In addition, there is an electrical fault with the main bedroom wall switch. The light doesn’t come on/stay on until about 3 attempts. Clearly faulty switch.
- Catherine (9/5): Superb - It was easy to access and had a dedicated parking space which was great for our visit. Everything was easy to use and the space great for what we needed. Dishwasher tabs were provided which were appreciated The bedding was too hot for the season. The pots and pans were very poor quality and too small for general use for more than 2 people
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (7/5): Good - not applicable Let people know it is upstairs, use better quality loo roll, the cheap stuff doesn't last long enough. It is on a very busy road so lots of street noise, but a short walk into town.
- Muriel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jill (10/5): A lovely relaxing break away . Apartment near to city centre and amenities - The apartment was exceptionally clean, very modern with everything you would need for a holiday. The owners left a lovely welcome box with tea coffee biscuits chocolate milk and crisps. The only slight hitch was that the Tv did not work when we arrived as the batteries in the remote needed replacing . First job in York city was to buy new batteries other than that everything was good
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Edith (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (10/5): Practical, comfortable and convenient - Very good basic essentials. An excellent location with access to all services and the city center within walking distance A weekly cleaning service will help enhance the experience
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - The flat is very nice, new and clean
- Denise (10/5): Modern, clean and well-equipped. - Lovely apartment in a terrific location...comfortable, clean and smart - only 10 minute walk into the city. It was very hot when we stayed there so could have done with a fan as it was difficult to sleep at night, even with windows open!. Would also recommend a shower rubber mat in the bath as it was a bit treacherous whilst taking showers....having said all that, a great stay and we really would recommend this property.
