- Emma (10/5): -
- Adrian Hubbard (10/5): - Outstanding location, really enjoyed our stay, wish it was longer, love to go back Nothing
- Linda (10/5): it was comfortable and lovely location, - we loved the space, balcony and privacy, the beds was very comfortable, lovely pillows and bedding, facilities in the kitchen was good. sofas comfortable to sit on, I felt £250.00 for 1 night was a lot. as i stayed in a cabin in Sussex for 5 days last summer for just over £500.
- Christopher (8/5): Comfortable stay in a lovely location - These are comfortable lodges in a quiet, charming location which is ideal for exploring Wensleydale and Swaledale. Deceptively spacious. Very clean. Excellent value for money at the last minute price we paid. Nothing negative really except to mention to others that you will need to take all consumables with you as there is nothing provided/left in the kitchen apart from dishwashing items.
- Katie (10/5): - Beautiful lodge in a peaceful area. Very well equipped, lots of space and very clean. Having 2 bathrooms was really helpful too. The flowers on the table and little soaps in the bathrooms showed extra thought, and nice there were some games and books too. Just wished we could have stayed longer, we will definitely be back soon!
- Rebecca (6/5): -
- Adam (9/5): Wonderful family break - perfect location for some peace and quiet 💕 - We had a lovely couple of days in Pine Lodge as a family of five. The lodge was everything we had hoped for - beautifully clean, comfy beds and plenty of room to sit together in the evenings. Parking right outside the lodge and some beautiful grounds were a bonus. We hope to be back - THANK YOU 😊
- Clare (10/5): -
- PhilMarsh (8/5): -
- Lynne (8/5): - Very nice cabin but in the middle of nowhere and quite isolated To far away from restaurant and town and nowhere to walk to
- emily (7/5): - Nice location, lovely cabin, comfy beds, spacious arwa No tea or coffee. No shower gel. No kitchen roll. No hand wash. These things should be complimentary. Oven was very dirty unfortunately. For the price you would expect these things for sure. Radiator in double bedroom was not working.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Lovely lodge everything we needed nice and clean. Great bedding hotel standard
- Henshaw (9/5): - Great location near Masham down long single track lane. Nicola met us at the property as the lodge we had originally booked needed some maintenance. We were shown to a different lodge which was excellent. It was clean, spacious and comfortable with 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. For an overnight stay with grandkids, it was brilliant. Loved it!. The hairdryer blew up!
- sharon (10/5): Perfect little getaway. - A beautiful space, immaculately clean, well equipped, and in a gorgeous location Not a terrible thing, but just a detail. There was no tea or coffee.
- Vicky88Cs (9/5): Relaxing lodge in the countryside - We stayed at the Lodge for my husbands birthday having not visited before we often book last minute nights away. The lodge is in a nice private, secluded area lots of lovely trees and wildlife surrounding making it peaceful. The lodge was clean and cosy, I would like to visit in the summer but we did get to sit outside on a dry morning. Short drive from Masham (I'd recommend pre arranging food as you are remote) but we visited a great pub in the square. It's a great place to relax & switch off which is exactly what we did. We also loved the Theakston brewery during our stay. The beds weren't the comfiest and the pillows could have been better.
- Carlie (9/5): Our stay was just what we wanted 😊 - Such a quiet beautiful place and surroundings. The cabin is amazing and very cosy just what we needed. Nicola was on hand to help with anything we needed and authorised us a later check out at very short notice thankyou Nicola 😊
- vincent (9/5): - Beautiful location in the countryside. Felt like we were a million miles away. Very relaxing. Lodges were cosy and comfortable.
- Vicki (10/5): Excellent. Will definitely be back - Easy to find. Very peaceful. Had everything we needed . very clean. And the beds were so comfortable
- Lucy (8/5): Perfect stay in the country near lots of North Yorkshire highlights - Just what we were looking for - quiet, comfortable and spacious Could do with adding a couple of basics like sugar/tea/ shampoo.
- Kathryn (8/5): Lovely cosy festive stay with family - Great communication with owner. Clear instructions as to how to find the lodge. Cosey and comfy. Brilliant time had by all.
- Aaron (9/5): Great stay, really good facilities, would definitely stay again. Thank you. - The property was great, we had two lodges for our family, both were really clean, beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Nothing bad to comment on.
- Tracy (10/5): Remote enough for tranquility, yet just a short drive to some lovely towns. Stunning accommodation in a beautiful serene - Beautiful clean and fully furnished No complaints
- Lee (10/5): Very nice comfortable stay - Very nice and comfortable I didn’t have a garden even if it was a small garden as would make it easier with dogs
- Debra (8/5): Peaceful break - Spacious with lovely clean bathrooms, towels and bedding. Quiet setting with a woodland outlook. Owner replied to messages very quickly. Kitchen is modern and new but no cheese grater or baking trays
- Jack (10/5): -
- Claire (9/5): - Clean & modern inside. Nice and quietl
- Myles (8/5): -
- Steve (8/5): Relaxing; peaceful in a superb setting - Location was superb More kitchen equipment as well and sundries ie. Toilet rolls; waste bags for this standard of accommodation
- Samantha (8/5): It was absolutely lovely - The quiet location was just what we needed.
- LEANNE (10/5): Gorgeous stay at the Wensleydale Lodges - It was such a beautiful setting. The Lodge was clean, spacious, beautifully decorated. It was perfect. So cosy and warm and had everything we needed. We would definitely book again. My only advice would be to add a light to the sign for the lodges as it was quite difficult to find in the dark.
There was also a lot of glass in the roof so it would be very light on a morning in the summer time but obviously in December this didnt affect us at all. Its just to advise that this could be a problem for a summer stay. Id want to know to take a sleep mask if I was to come in the summer months.
- Matthew (10/5): Nicola was very welcoming. It was only a night, but i fully intend to go back and stay longer - Secluded. Quiet. Warm ( it was December) ski chalet vibe. Nothing
- Joanne (10/5): Great lodge! - It was so peaceful here, on a lovely well kept small site. The lodge is huge and had everything you need. A great place to escape to. Nothing - I wish I could have stayed longer!
- Kirstie (10/5): - Communication was brilliant and very accommodating. Lodge was beautiful and perfect for our family if 5.
- kimberley (10/5): Difficult to find, remote location but comfortable and clean - Lovely lodge, very clean but very isolated area. The lodge site “Wensleydale lodges” isn’t sign posted, in-fact the site has another name altogether “ Chalcot odges” and the wifi is also called Chalcot Lodges when connecting, so there was a lot of confusion and it took a lot of time to find the site and we only found it after a lot of driving around and having to call the owners and ask for directions. This could have been made clear on the instructions on how to find the lodge and make our stay get off to a better start. However, once we finally found the lodge, we found it comfortable, clean and spacious. It has everything you need and we would definitely stay again. Has a different name to the site advertised it is not Wensleydale Lodges it’s actually called Chalcot Lodges
- Sherrie (9/5): Beautiful lodge in a beautiful setting - The lodges was beautiful alongside the setting. Everything was beautiful and relaxing. We was with a 7, 8 and 6 month old also and we all really loved the lodge we stayed in, felt like an adventure for the children and relaxing for the adults. We would definitely recommend! Nothing to add
- Jake (9/5): -
- Lopez (9/5): - The solitude and quietness, the woodland smells and sounds. The giant spider living rent free in the bathroom sink. He was relocated...
- Orr (10/5): -
- Jill (8/5): Comfortable lodge in a beautiful location - We stayed in a lovely lodge which was located in a beautiful, quiet location with easy access to Masham and for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.
The lodge was very clean, comfortable and very well equipped - it had everything we needed and we enjoyed our short break here. Check in on our day of arrival was very confusing and could so easily be improved.
The signage displayed at the entrance to the lodges still says Charlcot Lodges which was the former name of this site. A new Wensleydale Lodges sign would be helpful to confirm the correct location.
We did not receive any additional information prior to our stay, just the Booking.com confirmation. A brief email the day before arrival would be helpful confirming the name of the lodge and the access/key code would be helpful.
- Philip (9/5): -
- Angela (10/5): Beautiful location, spacious, comfortable and super friendly owner :-) -
- Joanne (10/5): Lovely quiet stay - Lovely location and quiet
Just what we needed
Masham was beautiful and quaint A little out of the way
But suited us
- Tatiana (9/5): -
- Wayne (10/5): -
- tom (8/5): - very peaceful and well located for our purpose Cleanliness in certain areas
- Charlene (9/5): -
- Jonathan (10/5): -
- Mandy (10/5): -
- Dawn (6/5): Peaceful and quiet. - Very peaceful and tranquil. Very dusty skirting boards, door ledges and dirty windows.
- Gillon (7/5): Peaceful stay in the woods - Very secluded and peaceful with lots of character. Great water pressure in the lovely bathrooms. Good fridge and freezer plus a dishwasher was really useful. Some of the furniture was quite tired and could do with a refresh. For the price it would be nice to have some basic supplies like tea and coffee.
- Warren (9/5): What a lovely lodge in a great location, worth a stay for sure - Setting and location was perfect, only 4 lodges and very secluded Could do with a deep clean and the beds were poor, but Nicola did change the mattress in the second day but I hate to sound picky but it wasn’t the best quality. If a little time was spent and mattresses upgraded to more luxury this property would be amazing. Can’t fault responsiveness of Nicola as she was excellent and really caring
- Tracey (9/5): Superb - Lovely Lodge in a peaceful secluded setting with some great walking right from the site
- Mark (7/5): Let down by the poor quality beds. - Nice location, nice roomy lodge. Let down by the beds. Mattresses on all the beds are poor and the springs can be easily felt which is unsatisfactory for a good night's sleep. This isn't a question of personal preference re firm or soft beds but the very substandard mattresses that could easily be replaced. All in our group of four agreed we enjoyed our stay other than the very poor beds.
- Dawn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lori (8/5): Lodges in a fantastic location - Fantastic location and very secluded and safe grounds for the children to play in. Lodge itself was perfect size and had everything we needed/ wanted. Rainfall shower was especially nice and comfortable the kitchen was well stocked with cooking/ cleaning utensils and pans which was nice for cooking with. The only down side was that the mattresses weren’t very comfortable.
- Monther (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (8/5): Bypass masham - Lovely place, very quiet and a great location for walking and exploring the area. Enjoyed sitting out on an evening , no light pollution and total silence. Lodge was very well equipped with everything you could need. The bed nearly crippled me so we ended up sleeping on the bed sofa in the living area...ooh those springs . Also if your going I would actually give masham a miss and head straight to ripon as on Monday masham was shut, 1 cafe open, one chocolate shop open. Even the suggested places to eat were shut. But otherwise....Great.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (8/5): We enjoyed our stay in Pine lodge which is in a nice rural location - Lovely spacious lodges in rural location and friendly communication after an initial hiccup with some missed messages. Pleased to have two bathrooms when trying to chivy teenagers in the morning. There really isn’t much to dislike but we were surprised to find several instances of a lack of cleaning, dusting and hoovering under the table and behind the bedside cabinets in the double room (while looking for a lost screw from a pair of glasses). Also there was only just enough cutlery for four and only soap in one of the bathrooms.
- Tim (9/5): Superb - Seclusion , size and only 10 mins away from everything. Brilliant site Nothing
- Baker (5/5): Peaceful ideal for one night - Ideal for a stop over very quite The beds were so soft that you could feel the springs reaching the base
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anita (10/5): Exceptional - Secluded and rural palace - it is you and nature only. Place not fare form Masham. The lodge is very spacious and comfortable inside.
- Nick (9/5): Excellent relaxing enjoyable - Lovely and quiet very relaxing environment Nothing excellent holiday break
- A (7/5): Good -
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Samantha (9/5): Lovely stay - Lovely stay. Cabin location fab. Cabin nice, big and comfortable, with everything we needed.
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Luke (7/5): Good -
- Rachel (10/5): Very enjoyable! - Beautiful lodge! Our kids loved every second and it was so well equipped and cozy! It was quite remote and our sat nav took us down a dangerous dirt road. We had to find another way round.
- Brown (10/5): Amazing lodge, lovely location. Friendly owner - Lovely host, lodge was perfect. Definitely use again
- Johnson (8/5): Great area, lovely owner, bad mattress - Area is lovely, great for walks. The owner came by and introduced herself and recommended some local restaurants. Lovely woman. The only downside was the mattress on the double bed. It's the only thing stopping a full 10 out of 10
- Stephen (10/5): Our safe haven when stranded due to bad weather. Would recommend! - Exactly what it said on the tin, clean, clear, great facilities and a lovely area. Nothing jumped out at me about the property. We stayed in January and it was cold outside, the lodge would have heated up faster if I managed to correctly switch on the electric fire!
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elaine (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): Lovely place and lovely location - Good facilities and great location
- Vicki (10/5): Beautiful lodge so Cosy - Absolutely gorgeous lodge, lovely and clean! So cosey! Will absolutely be back! Allergies were majorly set off as pets are obviously allowed in which is my fault for not bringing my inhalers ended up ringing 111 for an emergency prescription and had to go to Tesco in Northallerton to collect but will remember them next time.
- Sophie (10/5): Perfect family stay! - Beautiful stay, the Lodge was just want we needed. Our children loved it & we will be back.
- Andrew (7/5): Has amazing potential. If it was cleaner, and the bed comfier. - Location was great.
Facilities were great. Felt really secluded. Cleanliness was iffy. 1 towel had smeared makeup on it. Which wasn't from us. Would've come off of washed.
Double bed was horrific. So uncomfortable.
The only reason we wouldn't stay again is because of the comfiest of the bed and some cleanliness
- Teresa (7/5): Value for money - Location was lovely, very quiet.
Met the owner on arrival and she was lovely. Left our bags there before check in. She was friendly and helpful.
Comfortable for 4 people, plenty seating etc. Not well enough equipped for the amount of people.
Usually there’s a complimentary pint of milk etc in fridge but nothing at all was there.
But enough loo roll.
The four of us had some kind of allergy while staying there. Tried to get an antihistamine but unable to as we had had some wine and no taxis. It was quite dusty and there were cobwebs.
- Richard (8/5): Great for over night stay, would stay again if mattresses were replaced. - Extremely spacious, loved the en suite General cleanliness was good however some high level dusting, door hinges and down the sides of bedside tables need attention. The mattresses need replacing on all beds as they are very uncomfortable and can feel every spring.
- Sharron (10/5): Comfortable lodge with everything you need, friendly host - Clean, warm and comfortable
- Liza (9/5): Excellent stay - The property is fully equipped with the basic things you need for a comfortable stay. The owner is very helpful & accommodating to my queries. It is a great place to unwind with your family.
- Ashleigh (10/5): Perfect, cosy, brilliant value for money and the 2 bathrooms/showers were a massive bonus - The perfect location and the decking outside at night was amazing to sit and just watch the stars, so peaceful. It’s just what me and my friends needed for a nice quiet getaway We had to leave
- Ellie (6/5): Overall pleasant stay with lovely friendly staff, big spacious lodge however there were some cleanliness issues includin - It was a big spacious lodge and the staff were lovely and helped any queries i had about the stay. quite unclean, dog hairs, dead spiders in cupboards, cobwebs in corners
- Dominic (10/5): Perfect accommodation and location - Perfect location to explore the dales fantastic site very well maintained and beautiful accommodation It was our fault for booking pet friendly and the we could smell dog within the lodge, but as I said not the fault of the operator, just letting other know in case its an issue
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (8/5): Very good - Spacious, well equipped and peaceful location. Needed cleaning in places ie behind headboards and double bed dipped in middle.
- Jane (8/5): Very good - Stayed 1 night after visiting the Forbidden Corner. The lodge was larger than anticipated and in a very peaceful location. The dark skies were an unexpected bonus. There were few drinking glasses and no fry pan which would have been useful.
- Eric (9/5): Superb - Had everything we wanted. Peaceful Finding it
- June (6/5): Decent place for a one night stay but wouldn’t want to stay longer. - The location was lovely - at the end of a country lane. Really peaceful and away from it all. Fairly spacious inside. Well equipped. The furniture in the property looked as if it had been wiped down with a dirty cloth - all smeared. One of the bathrooms hadn’t been cleaned - dirty towel hanging behind the door. Dirt on shower cubicle. Stains and pubic hairs on toilet vanity unit. Sofas shabby.
