• Mlada (4/5): Retro zážitek - Starobylý zájezdní hostinec nabízí romantický zážitek jako z dávného Japonska. Dřevěný dům je uchován v co nejpůvodnějším stylu. Jídelna má stoly z masivních fošen, ubytovací prostory jsou členěné tenkými přepážkami, zasouvací dveře se zamykají na petlice s visacím zámkem. Hlavní vchod se nezamyká vůbec. V zavodněném rýžovém poli pod okny koncertují žáby. Hostinec je na rušné křižovatce u benzínové pumpy. Inzerovány výhled na hory je omyl. Na lepší straně je výhled do lesa a na traktor v rýžovém poli. Personál je velmi zaneprázdněn provozováním restaurace. Ubytované hosty přijme s minimální péčí. Stravování pro ně nezajišťuje. Hosté si kupují jídlo v krabičkách v protější samoobsluze a smějí si ho v restauraci sníst. K dispozici je horký čaj. Personál nikoli. Hosté si sami rozloží a povlečou lůžko. Údaje k WiFi jsou v pokoji na listu uvedené, ale nesouhlasí. Všechny tyto skutečnosti by se daly přijmout vzhledem k historické lokalitě, ale cena za tento typ ubytování je naprosto nepřiměřená.

• Lyn (10/5): A cozy, spacious and welcoming home-away-from-home. - It was lovely to have a warm and friendly place to come home to after the Shirakawago crowds had left for the day. Being able to bring your own food in from the convenience store across the road, to eat/heat in the restaurant area, was a real bonus. Friendly and helpful staff. It can be cool in the building, but there are lots of heaters available to warm the hallways and bedrooms.

• CHIHARU (8/5): 故郷の友達の家 - 　関東から名古屋に嵐のライブに行った翌日白川郷まで足を伸ばしました。乗るはずだったバスに乗りそびれ、急遽特急とバスを乗り継いで着いたのは8時過ぎ。それでもとても温かく迎えてもらい、夕食は元々付いていなかったのですが、珍しい硬めのお豆腐の入ったおでんをご馳走してくれました。お酒も勧めてくださいました。経営者のご夫婦がとても気さくな方々でおしゃべりも楽しかったです。BGMに嵐の曲もかけてくださって感動でした。 　立地もバス停から歩いて6分、目の前にはコンビニもあり便利でした。 　いわゆるホテルとは全くちがい、人と建物の温もりを感じる故郷のようでした。またいつか行きたいと思います。 特にはないけど、古い建物なのでそういうのが苦手な方には向かないでしょう。

• CHANG SHENG (4/5): - 幾乎沒有 3月下旬入住，入住4人房（家庭房），需要自己鋪設床鋪（建議大家上網看一下怎麼鋪設）。 一晚7000多台幣，cp值非常低。 重點是房間非常多椿象啊啊啊啊，一晚至少抓了5隻，另外男生衛浴缺少放置更換衣服的籃子或架子，只有一個圓板凳，放個浴巾就沒位置了，女生那邊確有雙層籃架，差別待遇。。。 整體就是不推這間民宿

• Anne Pauline (9/5): January overnight stay - Close to the bus station and across the convenience store. They also serve breakfast and dinner at extra cost. Since we stayed during winter, the house was cold, but the room was warm. The stairs to the second floor are narrow and kinda steep though (see photo). We didn't get the memo and brought luggages. 😂 The owner was very helpful when we didn't know how to use the heater, and was kind to drive us to the station after checkout when it was snowing.

• Lee (9/5): Wonderful! - The dorm rooms were clean and well heated. Each bed has power plugs and curtains for privacy. A convenience store was located right in front of the accommodation and was necessary for us because the restaurant next to the accommodation and the rest closed by 5:30PM for dinner and were not open for breakfast before 10AM. Nothing.

• Chun Yan (9/5): Friendly hosts who warm one's heart in cold Shirakawago - Friendly host. There was a staff member who could speak some English so checking in and making enquiries about the stay were easier. The owner was really nice and shared the photo-books of old Shirakawago. Bonus points are - the place is also a restaurant so I didn't have to go far to eat dinner -There's a convenience store opposite so i could get breakfast or snacks easily Insulation was poor outside the bedroom, at the toilets, but can't be helped. There were heaters around though. The lights in the shared bedroom was kept on because nobody dared to turn them off.

• Japhet (8/5): Buen anfitrion, pero no te quedes en shirakawa - La atención del dueño, fenomenal, muy amable, muy cercano, te da recomendaciones, es super alegre y le encanta compartir con los huespedes, nosotros no tuvimos mucho tiempo para hablar con él, pero sin embargo, un muy buen host, tiene fotos con las personas que se han quedado y compartido, imagino que más tiempo que el de nosotros. Realmente, creo que Shirakawa es un lugar de paso, no vale la pena quedarse, es extremadamente caro respecto a otros lugares de japón para dormir, y en vdd no es algo que sea necesario, con 4-5 horas recorres lo suficiente tomas las fotos necesarias y sigues tu ruta. la ciudad muere a eso de las 5-6 de la tarde que oscurece y ya no puedes hacer más que irte a tu lugar para dormir.

• Japhet (10/5): Shirakawa no es para quedarse - La recepción del dueño excelente muy servicial muy amable un excelente personal! En Shirakawa la gente no es muy amable en general, por lo que las personas de este lugar destacan demasiado. Shirakawa no es un lugar para quedarse, es solo un lugar para unas horas y el hostel tiene un precio bastante elevado en comparación a otros sitios de Japón. Si realmente quieres vivir un día sin hacer nada en la noche pues te recomiendo 100% este hostel por su personal y el dueño ! Pero no recomiendo quedarse en Shirakawa puedes fácilmente conocerlo en 4-5 horas
• Jaruwan (10/5): - I like the owner, he is so gentle, kindness and try to help us in everything, the meal is so delicious, the room is clean and comfortable and bathroom is good and clean too, so i love it and hope to comeback again.
• Johannes Petrus (7/5): - I was very happy I could stay here (last room available in Shirakawago) and went for the last shared room. The employees helped me find local spots (a very good onsen including opening hours). The accomodation also has a good restaurant with nice local dishes. Be on time since the last order is already at 18:00! The beds in the shared room were okay and the accomodation offered free towels (even to take to the onsen)! Lastly it is very conveniently located with parking and being opposite to the convenience store. Shirakawago is in nature and the shared room is made of wood, that is okay. But I found too many insects in the room (2 dead ones and 3 live ones) close to my bed. They were not dangerous insects but 100 yen sized and noisy. Whilst I could get rid of them with some shoe whacking, I think the accomodation should do such sanity checks beforehand themselves.

I reserved the hostel for two friends who said that the rooms had bugs and the beds were a bit uncomfortable. They gave them some insecticide to kill the bugs...
• ALEXANDROS GKERCHART (10/5): Hospitality and kindness on a different level - I accidentally booked a big room while being a solo traveler so I don't know about the other rooms or beds. Personally the room was 10/10: clean, spacious, traditional Japanese. Now, if the room was 10/10, the owner Sada-san and his wife were 20/10. The most friendly people I have met in Japan so far. Very warm-hearted and kind. I would come back for sure. ..

• Charlotte (8/5): Super sweet staff, easy to get around, and lovely large facilities! - It was such a big and beautiful hostel to stay in! The young woman who checked me in was so sweet. She gave me food recommendations around the area and helped me with my questions. I was fortunate to have the room to myself but I hope more people stay here! The owner is also super nice, has created a little map of the area with recommendations, and has a restaurant in the vicinity where I had a delicious vegetable curry. Highly recommend :) Nothing!

• 여행홀릭5 (10/5): - 시라가와고 숙소는 예약하기 힘든데 운좋게 1박을 할 수 있었고 그곳이 고이시야마여서 더 좋았습니다. 도미토리는 무척 쾌적했고 쌀쌀한 날씨였음에도 따뜻하게 실내온도를 유지해 주셔서 오랜만에 푹 잤습니다! 저녁으로 고이시야마의 히다규 카레를 주문했는데 2인분의 양만큼 많이 주신데다가 맛도 좋았습니다. 또한 사이드 메뉴로 시킨 미니오뎅이 굉장히 맛있었어요. 낮에 단체 손님이 많던데 대량으로 오뎅을 만들어서 그런지 양념이 아주 잘 배어있었습니다. 훌륭한 안주였네요^^♧ 아참, 6시 이후에는 식당이 게스트들의 공용라운지로 이용할 수 있어 좋았고요. 부부운영으로 직원들도 모두 친절하셨고요. 게스트에 대한 배려와 소통하고자 하는 호스트의 열정을 느낄 수 있었던 민숙이었습니다!!

• Evgeniia (7/5): - The owners were very kind, did everything to ensure one was comfortable. Convenience store right in front of the hotel - you can get food any time. Quite close to the center / bus stop. Could store my luggage and use the common areas after check out. It was only mid November but it was very cold, especially in the bathroom/shower, so I washed at an onsen. There was an AC and a gas heater, but the heater would smell like burned rubber/gasoline so tried not to use it much, and the AC wasn't enough (the ceiling was quite high) Cable extensions in the room and heaters didn't look fire safe. No safety box
