- Terry McGuire (10/5): Fantastic ryokan experience - Wow, Teacup onsen has all you need for an exquisite Japanese styled ryokan. The staff are really friendly, the room is great. We really enjoyed the onsen, too.

- Luke (9/5): Relaxing and very good value for money - Very relaxed atmosphere with good facilities (relaxation area and table tennis table). The hot spring water was excellent, as was the traditional Japanese breakfast. Overall an excellent experience and worth coming again.

- Samantha (10/5): Wonderful Family Stay - Very nice stay, clean and quiet room in this very unique old style building
Comfortable beds, staff is adorable and well spoken in English
Onsen is not in the hotel building but next to it, definitely worth you money to book it for 50 mins !
Please visit Ureshino, and the Princess shrine, great family moment
- Sang (9/5): Excellent Food and Onsen - Loved the meals breakfast and dinner. They were served at the restaurant on time and varied every time. Onsen was great. I think they should post two large recognizable Name Plates for the Two Public Onsen doors. They should post "MENS ONSEN" for the male onsen door and "WOMENS ONSEN" sign for the female onsen door. Both doors of the two Onsen doors have pictures of women and confused me initially. If they would post large appropriate name plate in front of both onsen doors, that would be very clear for the first time visitors to identify.
- Patricia (10/5): Great stay! - Amazing room - large, clean, good amenities. Lovely onsen. Paid the e yes to do the teacup onsen - really good fun! Staff very helpful. H Nothing
- Doris (10/5): Exceptional - Very welcoming staff
- Gding3 (8/5): Very good - Unique Onsen town and quiet nice natural surroundings . Fabulous value for Ryokan stay and meals. NA
- Kwai (7/5): Location and friendly staff. Dinner and breakfast could be better. - Location and friendly staff
(8/5): Very good - There are insects in the bathroom and room (spiders and many ants), besides, the room, beds and meals are great.
- Josef (10/5): Exceptional - Great place for onsen and to look around.
- Ling (8/5): Nice and cosy ryokan - The dinner and breakfast served was excellent. The rooms we got were nice and spacious.
Staff were kind and attentive even when we spoke little japanese Nothing to complain about.
- Shih-yu (7/5): Good - Good public bath
- Leung (7/5): Plesant stay - Hot spring is fair quality, room is comfortable, good breakfast and dinner, overall good experience and good value
- Snxo_ (10/5): Exceptional - One of my favourite stays during our trip. The staff were kind and the food was delicious. Also, for an additional fee you can use the tea cup onsen next door which was such a treat!
- Dalsoo (8/5): Very good - Their breakfast was quite good.
- Sangho (9/5): Superb - It was great!! Nothing!!
- Henry (7/5): Very pleasant stay and relax, will consider staying again in future visit - Room is quite spacious, public area is quiet with relax environment. Staff is friendly and helpful. Meals are very well prepared and taste good. Should consider installing a small curtain rod for hanging towels in the shower room and at the sink. The property is showing its age, it’s time to consider some remodeling.
- Stewart (7/5): Good -
- Rod (7/5): Good - Ping pong table was good
- Hello (9/5): Great! - It was so much better than what reviews described! We concluded Teacup Onsen had the most comfortable bed amongst 7 different hotels/airbnbs in our entire trip.
Overall great for the price point. Onsen is well equipped and complete although we did not see any teacup onsen.
We only stayed one night due to the mixed reviews but looking back would have preferred staying 2-3 days. Nothing much. Some may think it’s old but I think it’s a nice touch of rustic vibes.
- Kaoru (8/5): Very good -
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful room, amazing teacup onsen, friendly and attentive staff
- Laurence (6/5): I would not chose this place again as it doesn't have a warm atmosphere - the room was nice in spite of many small ants on the worn-out tatami.
free coffee in the morning
yukata provided. the food was not included in the price.
the text was telling that the room featured a private open bath which is not true as it has to be paid separately. The onsen is far to be great, outside bath where you can soak only half your body with a ridiculous low water level!
- Hui.t (8/5): Place to experience onsen - Location: Near to a public footbath. There is also a park nearby.
Breakfast and dinner were good. Felt dusty on the room floor. Not sure if the tatami mats were worn out.
- Rachel (8/5): A welcoming and delicious stay in Ureshino - great value for money! - We had a wonderful stay at his ryokan - the experience was new for us and we were impressed by the friendliness of staff and the meals (breakfast/dinner) that we had. It was a value-for-money ryokan and we would recommend lovely Ureshino in general as well! The onsen facilities were relatively well kept but perhaps a little dated in the actual hot bath area.
- Katherine (10/5): Will recommend to friends - Everything, esp the friendly English speaking lady at FRONT no complaints
- Shoon (4/5): Disappointing -
- Hk (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (8/5): Centrally located ryokan close to the river with a nice garden - the staff were helpful and the meals were excellent all good
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed for one night to use the teacup onsen. The staff were very friendly, the dinner was a full kaiseki with many excellent flavors. We had to leave very early in the morning. When our car wouldn't start in the morning the staff went out of their way to give us a jump and made sure we were able to safely get on our way. Tatmi room with futons was perfect for us and our toddler, but can be uncomfortable if you are not used to it
- Chi (8/5): Very good - Big room. Friendly staff Dinner quality needed to improve.
- Jeanne (9/5): great hotel accessible by bus in Ureshino onsen, private bath are awesome -
- Yiu (8/5): Very good - Dinner and breakfast are good, especially beef.
- Tianyu (8/5): Very good -
- Yanfang (10/5): Exceptional -
- Justin (4/5): slightly disappointed for their service quality - The private onsen. The room was very dusty and the AC/heater was so dirty that makes us hard to breath. The tatami mattresses were old enough to leave pieces of grasses on the blankets and clothes, and the extra pillow in the closet was dirty and stained. The hot water in the room took forever (at least 10mins) to start running.
No signs or instructions/descriptions were in English, only in Japanese and Chinese.
overall, the hospitality service and the performance was not up too the standard for the price I paid for.
- Noelie (4/5): I don't recommend for foreigners - The emplacement was good and the food was tasty. As a foreigner I felt really not welcome at all by the employee (and nearly mocked).
The room wasn't clean and I saw some small insects on the futon and the tatami.
The famous Instagram picture of this place with the cup of tea onsen was quite a scam as it's not part of the normal booking but it's an expensive outside onsen for just 1h.
Everything was quite old too.
