• Fardosa (6/5): It was okay. - The place is quite noisy due despite the description of “quiet street view”. There’s a mosque nearby which is typical in Mombasa which I feel should have been put in the description, and a construction across the street. The bathroom is quite small and not very well designed, but functional I guess. We also had a surprise extra charge for using the AC which we were not informed when checking in. Luckily there wasn’t a mosquito problem so we left the window open at night. The host is responsive except when we stayed for about 2 hours without power in the apartment because of the misunderstanding with the AC situation. The building itself is quite old and sort of dirty outside - well you get what you pay for!

• Rahul (1/5): Best to stay elsewhere - Little to like Many issues - eg, running water in toilet needed to get figured out, didn’t get much toilet paper, they seemed to imply our electric usage was too high (or didn’t have enough funds to pay for the electricity), etc.

Every facility was available from smart tv, full kitchen, fan, hot shower Area was safe to walk around and convenient for buses or ferry. We were able to walk to old town Local mosque in next Street interrupted sleep a bit

The location was convenient since it is near the Mombasa CBD Though the room was very good, the general external walls of the building could do with a new coat of paint.

• Akhwale (8/5): The to go to place for one looking for a cosy quiet stay within walking distance of the CBD - The host was very courteous and at short notice facilitated an early check in. He gave me straightforward directions and the caretaker was there ready and waiting for me. The very high standard of cleanliness of the room was just as said in the reviews, which is one of the considerations that made me choose the apartment. The prepaid electricity meter was well topped up with no fear of it running out. The Wi-Fi connection was very good that made possible uninterrupted watching of Youtube to the time I left. The water pressure in the shower was low, especially on the morning of arrival. Probably the host could consider using a booster pump. The bed could also do with more tightening of the bolts.

After check-in realised the AC remote was missing, when inquired it was informed AC not included if required additional 1300 KES should be paid. Considering the heat at night agreed. The place is unclean and there are no toiletries available. Absolute disappointment.

I'm so grateful to have such a nice place at very affordable price. I've already recommend to my colleagues and staffs whenever they are traveling to Mombasa pay a visit at Paradise Apartments. And the lady booking you in is very friendly and helpful. Thank you for hosting and your kindness. That it was on the second floor, I'm a ground floor person but other than that...the exercise and stay was worth it overall
