Guest Reviews
- Steve (10/5): - Everything was amazing! Nothing!
- Louise (6/5): Be aware of hidden costs - We love the Carmarthen Bay, park dean site itself. Staff are always happy, friendly and go out of their way to help if needed Electricity wasn't included on this booking and wasn't stated prior to booking.
It was pitch black when we arrived and the meter is behind a pipe, in the bathroom cupboard, which is awkward to get to. It was also on minus credit, so we needed to clear that before we actually had any credit to get theights on.
There is no sea view from the chalet, but isn't far from the actual beach
We didn't have club passes for the night(which, being Halloween weekend, was our purpose for this visit) as the owner was supposed to sort this via forms before our arrival
Bathroom window wasn't lockable as handle was broken, so we didn't feel secure and it was draughty.
- HeyBella (8/5): Good place to rest but disapointed had to pay for pool and electricity - Beautiful location Lock box should be replaced, hard to access when all the numbers spin
Coming from another country towels would have been nice
Didnt know electricity was operated by a coin box
Pool and such is not included
These things should be in information before booked, not found out 2 days before our stay

- Zaneta (10/5): Other wise was really nice and expectional . - Very good and fast contact with the owner. I loved where the chalet was located, just near the sea, with an amazing view.
Near the shop arcade, quiet location. Our bed was uncomfortable, and the bathroom had no lock.
- Debbie (6/5): It was nice and comfortable, good communication from host. - The property was lovely. Beds were comfortable, everything worked well and very clean and tidy and the host replied to my messages very quickly.
The beach is stunning and only a 60sec walk from the apartment and sandy :-) I didn’t realise that’s the entertainment passes were not part of the booking and with a family of four at £18 a pass was an expensive I wasn’t expecting or had budgeted for.
Without the passes you can’t access any entertainment or activities like swimming, evening entertainment or bingo.
Now I know that I have to budget for passes I would go again but be more prepared.
Definitely go to Tesco first as the prices in Park dean are a complete rip off.
I paid £7.50 per person for 6 people to go to the “amazing pool party” and we were the only people in the pool and it was just floats and rubbish music 🤦🏻♀️
Also pretty much EVERYTHING in park dean is chargeable

- Ana (5/5): - Close to the seafront, although this is a tidal estuary, not really the sea. Tastefully decorated. Outdoor space with seating. Amenities of the holiday park on site.
Direct parking. Quiet but we went just before the end of schools.
Nice beach in good weather. Typical holiday park atmosphere. Acceptable restaurant on site. Good for drinks. No Wifi even though it was advertised as having Wifi. Owner did not do anything to address this when I raised it.
No seaview, even though it's advertised as having this. It's 4 rows of holiday cabins back from the beach, you can see cabins, dustbins and maybe a slither of sea.
Mainly clean but a very dusty wardrobe (inside) and a couple of forgotten breadcrumbs in the drawers. Shower is modern but the sealant is blackened from mould, soap tray broken, no hand brush, no toilet brush, a broken broom handle and corroded bathroom window handle making it difficult to close. Paint blistering in a couple of places.
The double bedrooms have small double beds that you have to climb over each other to get in or out. They were comfy though.
The outside areas of the park as a whole were not very clean. Not huge amounts but notable rubbish, dog poo and even an abandoned car.
- Kirsty (10/5): A perfect stay in a lovely chalet - Spotlessly clean, fully equipped and perfectly located lovely property a few steps from a lovely beach. Entertainment, pool and restaurant on site, Nothing.
- Hazel (10/5): B.day get away - The chalet was amazing Spotlessly clean close to beach and club house The price was little high with booking.com and for we had to put coins in electric metre but it didn't need much
- T.chana (7/5): Short family break - The chalet was in a good location. Few feet away from the beach.really modern inside accommodation. Beds comfortable. Nice patio area to sit out on.good size fridge/freezer. Plenty of space for my grandsons to run about.loved the bench wat was on the coastal path.could sit and listen to the waves. Didn't like the meter.that you had to keep, topping up.with pound coins and 2 pound coins.we put roughly £15-£20 in for 2 nights and 2 days.the electric fire and the electric cooker.made the electric go quick.the shower water was hit and miss between warm and cold water,no heating in the bathroom. Plus.the window didn't shut properly. So having a shower was uncomfortable. Cause it was cold.no bath mare in the shower.so the floor was very slippy.when you got out of shower.plus there was a step up to the shower.so not good for disabled people.
- Bone (3/5): Wet and damp - The first night arriving I did the washing up only to find water pouring out across the kitchen floor. My husband removed the washing machine and dishwater to find all the pipe work disconnected. The issue had obviously been on going for sometime as both the floors in the two double bedrooms were soaking wet. The laminate had blown and was like walking on a wet sponge. Additionally there was no hot water in the sink. Despite being advised by owner to run the tap slowly the water never heated up. As a result every I wanted to do the washing up I had to boil the kettle. Finally the wet floors meant we had to keep all bags off the floor.
- Andy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oluseyi (5/5): Passable -
- Ak (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamesjohn (8/5): Very good -
- Alex (8/5): Very good -
- Keith (9/5): Superb -
- Carol (7/5): We had a pleasant time here - It was in a good location. It was bright. Pots and pans were provided as well as plates cups and glasses. There were no towels
No bread knife so I bought one to use
I bought a cafetiere as there wasn't one
The sea view was aquired through a couple of chalets in front of this one.
It wasn't in the advert that we had to pay for electric when it ran out. The fireplace is a feature but the fires ate the electric money so not a place to go when it is a bit cooler.
- Sylvia (9/5): A brilliant week - Breakfast N/A
The location to the beach.
The holiday park it self.
The chalet lovely and clean and our grandson really enjoyed the week. Perhaps a small chest of drawers in the twin bedroom to put night light on for children.
Clothes airer just to dry clothes inside when raining. Nothing we didn't like just the above as suggestions.
- Paula (8/5): Perfect Like being in a boutique hotel stunning - Very tasteful and Beautifully decorated, very clean .
Amazing bathroom .Lovely private patio area with several seating areas.Cozy lounge electric log fire, dining table
Sea view ,looked out to gardens
Came with washing machine dishwasher microwave ect. Couldn’t get the dishwasher to work properly kept going to reset
Couldn’t get hot water in bathroom basin and trickled out of kitchen sink .shower is electric so plenty of hot water
Tv dated not a smart tv but we spent most time on the beach
- Julie (8/5): A lovely chalet in a beautiful area. All communication with owner was very good. We would stay again when back to visit - Cockleshell chalet has been furnished beautifully.
We had everything we needed there for a very comfortable stay. It was spotlessly clean. We liked everything about the property, however we were disappointed that our 3 year old grandson couldn’t have the swim he was looking forward to as the holiday park did not do day passes! We were only there 2 nights and if he’d wanted to swim with Mum and Dad it would cost £18 each! I think the fact that you can’t just have a one off swim (without paying a fortune) would be a good addition to the advertising for the chalet.
- Virginia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Mgracer66 (10/5): Exceptional - Close to beach. Clean. Warm and great place. Nothing.... oh, only 1 roll toilet paper that's about all I could complain about !
- Bryan (4/5): Disappointed with the facilities in the Chalet..... no Towels ,no iron or ironing board no WiFi - breakfast small and expensive small choice for children lack of hot water , no towels no wifi no iron or ironing board
- Kacper (10/5): Great service , clean apartment and friendly staff, - Modern and clean Access to the place (roads)
- Debbie (6/5): Wales August 2023 - The chalet had most things you'd need, including sharp knives, which most places lack!
Views were great and the site was usually quiet. The chalet could do with a freshen up but was pleasant enough. 1 suggestion would be a clothes airer for when it's raining!
- Kayleigh (8/5): Very good -
- Simmone (9/5): Superb - Chalet was well presented, very clean with your essential items needed for a self-catering stay. The location is very peaceful and beautiful scenery. I had hoped for a better sea view from inside the chalet, but it's a small issue. The chalet is close enough to the waterfront. Not even 2 minutes walk, and you're there 😊
One of the double beds has a huge dip in the mattress. It becomes uncomfortable after a while.
- Ritchie (8/5): Lovely chalet with everything you might need. Owner is contactable. - Everything you need is laid on: Cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine. Mattresses too soft to our liking. Difficult to get into the double bed which is against wall because of the soft mattress.
- Paul (8/5): A relaxing short break in a home from home. - ideal location, with beach within easy reach. quiet at night. Minor point - having some towels available would have been good.
- Michael (10/5): great base for us to visit friends nearby - the layout, size and facilities within. quiet too.
- Marilyn (9/5): would stay again Lorraine got back to us right away - great position cosy and clean
- John (9/5): Very good - The food was excellent tasty and cooked to perfection..
Kids entertainment was very good .
Very clean Paying £32 for a family pass to use facilities. I.e swimming pool and to enter entertainment bar
