Guest Reviews
- Loreen (7/5): -
- Michaela (9/5): - For Thakhek loop it's perfect
- Kim (8/5): Lovely stay in peaceful setting - Very clean and such a comfy bed. Staff didn't speak English but were very helpful. Even though a bit out of town it's right next door to an amazing market that sold everything! Great wifi. Exceptional hot water shower. Peaceful spot. TV wasn't working, problems with satellite.
- Stefan (10/5): -

- Looz (8/5): Very good -
- Hồng (8/5): Very good - The place very big
- Eve (10/5): Amazing staff, amazing property, amazing views - All the staff went above and beyond to make sure my stay was as enjoyable as possible, the views from the property were stunning and the room was bigger than I expected with a very comfy bed. You could not have met a kinder group of people I would recommend this place to anyone passing by. They have an array of rooms so great for solo travelers, couples and family’s. A great location if your passing the boarder from Vietnam also.
- Maewenn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Teresa (9/5): Superb -
- Rebeka (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and clean room, very comfortable pillows, and beautiful surroundings!
- Flyn (6/5): Lovely rooms and a great sleep but dissapointed by no good options - Rooms were clean and the beds were very comfy. Very nice and relaxed place with nice scenery Had to wait a while to check in as there were no staff here. Looked like there was a restaurant but no food or breakfast available
- Marek (8/5): Very good - Nice and Clean Bungalows, very quiet,i recommend Bathroom is not perfect,it smells sometimes
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - There is no breakfast
- James (9/5): Nice room, lovely grounds - The room was nice and comfortable, and the whole guesthouse was set in lovely grounds with a pond. Breakfast was decent and you can use the outside eating area throughout the day. I found it helpful to set up my laptop and do work there. I ended up staying longer than planned, and I was happy to do so! Next door to the guesthouse is an entrance to a huge outdoor market, which I highly recommend for cheap, nutritious food. It was hard to find nearby places to eat out, especially at night. That's normal for most parts of Laos that I visited.
- Ruth (10/5): Fantastic place to stay - Wonderful Villa with a beautiful view of the mountain. The manager was so kind and helpful. The unit was huge and very comfortable. Excellent bed!
- Shirel (7/5): Good -
- Densitymatrix (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Great but the shower was not hot. - Very clean, spacious house. The shower didnt get very hot.
- Maxim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shauna (10/5): Perfect for the loop - A beautiful property with lovely cottages. Clean and perfect for staying on the loop. Thank you to the owner who took two of our party plus bike from Na Hin to here. You saved us having a very unpleasant journey. Nothing
- Melanie (4/5): This property could have a lot of potential if they had better or more house keepers and maintained the rooms and proper - The property itself is beautiful. The staff was very kind and contacted us to let us know that we had forgotten our travel diary after we checked out. The first room we were given had dirty bedsheets that had clearly not been changed. There were brown sweat marks all over, blood stains and even a sticky yellow residue on both the bed sheet and the comforter. I showed the receptionist who changed us rooms immediately.
Neither rooms had soap in the soap dispenser. The room needed a serious deep clean. The walls were stained. There were A LOT of spider webs in the bathroom as if it had not been cleaned in a very long time.
The breakfast was terrible. No milk, cream or sugar available with the instant coffee. The meal was cold when served (eggs, bacon, sausage). But at least it was included in the price of the room.
- Viktor (7/5): Good - Breakfast and staff
- Ford (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeruhwell (10/5): Being one with nature while on chill vacation. - Relaxing and worth the money you spend 😍 None so far
- Mark (3/5): Poor - • The AC was good
• The guy who greeted me was nice • Way too expensive for what it offers
• Super dirty, the "office" had dead bugs covering the floor, bathrooms weren't great either.
• Location wasn't great
• the pond in the middle looks disgusting
• Wifi went in and out all night
• The free breakfast was just bad
•Shower had no pressure or warm water
- Lindsay (10/5): Wonderful place to stay in Laos! - What a great little place to stay during the Thakhek loop! Absolutely love how big our room was and clean and comfortable! The beds are nice and the AC worked super well! The shower and bathroom was also amazing! TV worked too, for us to look up some YouTube videos. Really loved our view of the mountain! The breakfast was just okay, a bit flavorless but coffee was good! I wish the water in the lake was a bit higher but we also came in the dry season.
- Thommo (6/5): OK for an overnight stay during the Thakhek Loop - OK and quite comfortable option for the Thakhek Loop. There are different style rooms - Bungalows, Duplex rooms, and normal rooms (4-6 in a block). These all overlook their lake, which unfortunately looks fairly run down and dirty. However, there are many fish living in it, but there is also a poorly looking pedal craft, and a couple of tubing tyres (considering the state of the lake, I wouldn't use either).
The complex is set off the road, with a large gravel parking area and a tarmac road leading to to the bungalows and duplex rooms (with the bungalows having there own parking areas). There is also a nice path connecting all the buildings, which winds around their lake. The complex has quite beautiful views of the mountains, and if the gardens & grassed areas were looked after this would be quite nice too. (I suspect that during the wet season these would look much better.)
The reception is a separate building adjacent to the carpark and the bar / breakfast building is also separate, located several metres from the carpark area. (I had to order breakfast the day before, and was given a voucher to use.....American breakfast was just passable, but the fried rice was not. Help yourself coffee/tea is available during breakfast, plus you get an orange juice with your meal.)
I had a duplex room, which had a nice, queen sized bed, air-conditioning, TV, desk and a private wet bathroom with hot water for showering. This also included a small verandah with two chairs, and the room has daily housekeeping.
The place is quiet, but food options (other than breakfast) are negligible and about a 2Km journey to the highway is the nearest dinner/lunch options. There are places very close by to buy snacks, packaged noodles and drinks.
I enjoyed my two nights stay, but was disappointed by the lack of nearby food options. I enjoyed my two nights stay but was disappointed by the lack of nearby food options. The centre piece lake was disappointing, and I wouldn't advise using it for swimming.....feeding fish is all about you can do.
- Patrick (8/5): I absolutely loved my stay here. The owner is an absolute gem and incredibly helpful. - The breakfast was above and beyond and the location was close to bus station. I loved everything. The rooms were clean and serviced and the breakfast was hot and plentiful.
- Abigail (10/5): Amazing Stay - The staff were so lovely. We arrived from the third day of our Thakhek loop and our bike’s battery died at the reception. We were lucky because the staff were so quick to help they took our bike and brought it to a local mechanic and within an hour had it back to us with a new battery. We were very grateful.
The rooms were so clean and new and the location itself is like a wee resort. Breakfast included was delicious and made to order. Would definitely recommend it here.
- Abby (10/5): The best customer service I have received in my 3 weeks in Laos - Thank you Southat! - The best customer service I have received in my 3 weeks in Laos. I got into a motorbike accident on the loop and stayed here after receiving stitches from the Lak Sao hospital. The receptionist, Southat, took care of me from start to finish. I could not walk well because of my injury so he drove me to my room, arranged the free breakfast to come to my room, drove me to the hospital to receive extra care, and even waited for me at the hospital / helped to translate. He even called the owner of the guesthouse who spoke great English and explained to me what the hospital wanted to do and apologized for not being there but I told him it was OK because Southat was doing a great job. I offered a small tip to him for the gas he used to take me there and his time and effort and he politely declined. I’m so impressed and happy about the service I received in such a hard time. Thank you, Southat and thank you Meesouk ❤️
- Chrissir (6/5): Ok for 1 night - Did the job for 1 night, comfy but nothing amazing, AC & WiFi was strong, breakfast was ok Probably wouldn't recommend for a stop on the loop, there's not much around Lak Sao and busy dusty town
Restaurant wasn't open at night & water refill was only in reception quite a walk away from the rooms - would be helpful to have one located outside the restaurant
- Matthias (5/5): Functional simple accommodation at the upper price end for what you get - no holiday feeling - The park surrounding the bungalow was rather nice. Staff was friendly. The room was very basic only, naked, the opposite of being cozy. We were glad to stay there only one night. The breakfast options were very limited, although of reasonably good quality what they served.
- Petra (8/5): Very good - Huge property with a lake and beautiful sunset. It’s a but noisy because of the wind but the walks will hold up, no worries. Breakfast included, nice fried rice Wasn’t really clean when we arrived, some gecko poop on the floor
- Cr (7/5): Good - Beautiful property area around a lake Hairs on the bathroom floor and very dirty when I slightly moved the bed.
- Olivia (10/5): Exceptional - Good stop for the Thakhek loop. Nice and safe both for us and our bikes. Great American breakfast-Western standards. Will be even better when there’s a dinner restaurant on site!
- Sarah (7/5): Good - Big comfy bed, nice breakfast and lovely accommodating staff. A bit out of main town, lots of bugs & spiders etc in the room and bathroom.
- India (7/5): Good stop if you need some air con! - Spacious room with fridge, TV and great air con. We sat and watched the sunset on the seats outside which was really nice. The room had a lot of lizard poo and ants. There was a dead cockroach in the bin and a used toothbrush & toothpaste in the shower so didn’t feel like the bathroom had been cleaned. We arrived late and tired from the Loop otherwise we would have told the staff. The egg we had at breakfast was also raw.
- Aimee (7/5): Perfect stop-off during the Thakhek Loop - It was a comfortable stay in a spacious setting. It was a great place to rest up during the Thakhek Loop. The staff were friendly and there were lots of breakfast options which were included in the excellent value for money. It's set in a quiet location so we had to ride our scooter to find a nearby restaurant and shop. But this isn't really a fault at all. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.
- Thi (10/5): Amazing!!!! - The breakfast was so good. The restaurant with beautiful lake view. The staffs were so helpful and friendly. We had such a great time here. Nothing
- Cathal (10/5): Excellent, very pleasant environment with spacious lodgings around a large pond. - The rooms are well appointed and situated around a large pond that is frequented by cute rabbits. The bed is large and comfortable, with a good TV, and the buildings are made of concrete. The bathroom has a western hotel standard with hot water and nice floor tiles.
I slept a solid eight hours without any interruption - a much needed luxury after many hours on the road.
The hotel complex is situated beside the local bus station, which is very convenient since I got the morning bus to Thaket leaving at 8:30. Buses to different parts of Laos depart in the morning and you can buy a ticket easily. The hotel staff were very professional, and had arranged my American breakfast before my bus departure. Nothing - all good.
- Alex (10/5): friendly staff, clean rooms , nice shower a perfect place to stay. - New, Clean , great location to stop when doing the loop. nothing place was brilliant.
- Mercedes (10/5): Exceptional - This place is brand new and a great stop on the Thakhek loop .we did the loop backwards so it was just perfect . The owners were extremely helpful and gave us a huge welcome .The food was simply delicious ! Highly recommend ...
