• Nate (1/5): Rude, insulting, absent hosts. - Nothing It is a rundown farmhouse with zero charm. Nobody was there when I tried to check- in. I was not able to check-in When I requested a refund as a result, the staff was extraordinarily rude. Messages with horrible grammar and rude accusations insinuating I was stupid were sent my way. Absolutely do not book this terrible place.

• Gauvain (10/5): Wish I could have stayed afew more nights ! - Blackbrink cottage is a nice home in the middle of the irish countryside, be ready for one or more good nights of sleep ! John is a nice and knowledgeable host and will make sure everything in your stay is perfect. The bedroom was really comfy with a view on the lake and John's sheep, we really had the quiestest night here. Breakfast is awesome and you'll get plenty of food to choose from, freshly cooked. Everything was perfect

The spot was nice and quiet with beautiful views. Recommended to stay there as it's close to athlone and roscommon.

• Gabriela (10/5): Worth the trip!! - Wonderful breakfast. Peaceful area and cozy home. John and Sandra, the hosts, were so welcoming and more than helpful. Our rental car broke down and they were right there to help us in whatever way we needed. They even helped us contact Nevada, a person that was able to drive us to our next destination, since no Uber or taxis were available because of a big game. Thank you all of you for making our stay in Ireland so pleasurable and unforgettable!!!
• Staša (10/5): A bit remote, but well worth the trip! - Just wow! Stunning view, amazing hosts, surrounded by nature, peace and quiet. But best of all was the breakfast, a full Irish cooked to perfection.

The host and hostess were SO welcoming, we spent ages talking. Really lovely two way conversation....a true traditional BandB. Welcoming fresh scone and tea. Breakfast was out of this world, great selection but special mention of the bacon...it was heavenly.

• Teresa (9/5): Superb - Beautiful house lovely view of the lake, extremely comfortable beds, nicely decorated rooms. Hosts were lovely people very friendly. Breakfast was great. The only problem was finding the house using booking com. The directions need to be clearer and easier to find on the site. The directions to the house on the booking. Com site did not explain how far off the road the house is. During the day we got there just about but getting back after dark, the sat nav couldn't find the house and then the signal went so we were really lost. I managed to get a call to John the host and told him last place the sat nav showed before it went down. He went out looking for us and found us somehow.
