Guest Reviews
- Stephen (7/5): Basic rustic independent -
- Jade (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kylie (8/5): A quiet spot in a lovely village. Cheap and cheerful - It was right on the water. And a great price. It took me a while to find out how and where to check in.
- Wodzicki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jack (3/5): Poor - Single Room The mosquito net was broken, mosquitoes came in, the room was not soundproof, and you could hear the conversation next door. But I could fall asleep with headphones. Bad location
- Michael (5/5): Passable - The view Overpriced for food everywhere, the floor was very weak ,looked like termites or wood rot,I felt I had to move slowly and cautiously everywhere I walked for fear of falling through the floor ,the restaurant twenty metres away blared shit music so loud it was annoying, underneath the accomodation seems to be a local hang out till all hours
- Nakash (2/5): bad experience - The location and view the lock was broken, i woke up with the door half opened!!!!
the wifi barely worked
my window was also broken
the rooms share the same ceiling and you can hear everyone and have no privacy
the shared bathrooms were stinky
the room was filled with mosquitos and sometimes wasps
i feel like the listing on here is misleading because it doesnt show the rooms are not so private
- Stevens (7/5): Good -
- Julie (8/5): Cheap rustic stay. - It was the cheapest on the island, we paid £15 per night . It was fine I would use the word rustic . There’s free water refills, a fridge, kettle and a nice communal area to sit. The WIFI very hit and miss.
- Andrea (10/5): Such an authentic place and village, we are so happy we found this place! The waves underneath our room was a therapeuti - Location great! Balcony great! Bed great! Staff super lovely and friendly! Owner is awesome, he gave us information on the village and activities on what to do on the island… thanks Mr Giggles 🤭!!! There was nothing we didn’t like… it was exactly what we needed after a full on few months of travelling.
- Sean (6/5): Great for a budget. - The balcony out front is fabulous to watch the sea .. sounds of the sea to me were great but could keep others awake all night. It’s in a beautiful place with beautiful people. Giggles was very helpful in getting me some medicine when needed.f
For the money - it was good. met some fantastic people there. BE WARNED theres NO ATM in Sok San - bring enough cash in Dollars. you can live inexpensive. Noise! It’s like being in a dormitory as there’s thin separation between rooms. ceiling is open to every room. So earplugs to get to sleep. Floor in room could be washed .. dirty underfoot. Whole building moves when you move - thats its charm but might frighten some.
- Catherine (1/5): Bad - Worst property I have ever found in my travels
First of all we had a hard time finding it since there is no sign with the name of the structure.
the outside of the structure looks like an abandoned building. the entrance stairs are very high and half broken, it is not possible to carry the suitcase up by yourself.
The owner showed up 2 days after our arrival. We had to insist on having a second towel, there were 2 of us. The shared space consists of a broken sofa covered in torn fabric. The table and floor are always dirty, the garbage bin is full and we emptied it ourselves. The power outlets are not safe, the cell phone cable always fell off and every now and then there were some sparks. In the bed only one fitted sheet, all torn.
The shared bathrooms were never cleaned, no paper, sometimes there was no water to wash. In one bathroom there is not even a shower head but a pipe coming out of the wall. The guest is completely abandoned to himself. It is difficult to sleep because of the noise of the water right under the rooms. Lots of dirt and no service. The wifi connection was constantly interrupted.
- David (1/5): Bad - the view from the terrace. The description indicates that the accommodation has been recently renovated.
However, there is no hot water, the shower is broken and water is often unavailable, the toilet is broken (see photo), there is no soap, only one towel for two people, only one small blanket for two people, the Wi-Fi connection is poor, the terrace furniture is in very poor condition (see photo) and the bedroom floor has holes and is dangerous (see photo). The shutters don't close and the noise is infernal as the accommodation is close to the street, making it impossible to sleep.
The apartment was not cleaned during our stay and the garbage cans were overflowing.
The owner was absent and it was a guest who gave us his telephone number.
We paid over 30 dollars a day, making this the worst accommodation in Asia we tested for this price.
- Rudolph (10/5): Great beach escape! - Great location on the beach! Sok San is a nice beach town.
- Alexis (6/5): Beautiful island, beautiful view, but very basic and at time challenging stay - Location is ideal, probably the best community on the island and access to a stunning beach. Deck/balcony is amazing at sunrise. Shared bathrooms and showers weren’t very clean and rustic. Water came on and off at time we needed it for post beach showers. Also noise carries through the unclosed walls. Lastly, host was very absent to the point that new comers took rooms without knowing where to go.
- Jimmy (8/5): Very good - Was nice and cheap for island accommodation especially, basic rooms but bed was clean and comfy enough. Incredible view from the back porch and being over the water hearing the waves can be nice. WiFi was very poor but apart from that for the price everything added up fine
- Frank (8/5): Unbelievably peaceful and authentic - It over hangs the water and you can see it through the slates in floor in the bedroom. You can hear the sea gently lapping at the shore beneath you all night. The beds are the most comfortable we slept on in Asia. Amazing price and location
- Mirko (7/5): Good -
- Simen (9/5): Superb -
- Yotam (10/5): Exceptional -

- Pirlouit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (10/5): Very nice host ! - Very nice host !
- Ainsley (10/5): unreal atmosphere, very calm and could stay for a long time. - Amazing view
- Megan (10/5): Rustic koh rong experience - It has the perfect location right on the water and close to the small town with shops and a couple restaurants and a stunning beach. Giggles is a good host and even came to dinner with us the first night
- Jay (10/5): We had a beautiful stay, the location is beautiful and giggles is a great host! Would highly recommend! - The location is amazing!! Nothing
- Luke (10/5): Really nice place - Beautiful location and a great place to stay. Comfy beds and waking up to the sound of the waves gently crashing on the beach below was a real highlight of my trip. Really nice quiet place but has shop next door and some nice places to eat nearby. Giggles the host is lovely too, made me feel very welcome during my stay. Highly recommended!
- Roy (10/5): Exceptional - No fancy place but a super nice spot direct on the sea good to meet other travelers. The village is good to be, with many small restaurants, shops and beautiful beaches and not over crowded. The owner Mr Giggles is an awesome guy. Helps you with anything you need and his name is Giggles for a good reason.
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing spot in a really cool village, Giggles is awesome the beds are comfy and the balcony space is perfect for chilling. Gonna go back for sure.
- Roseanne (9/5): Superb - This was a last minute booking as we wanted to get away from the business for the main village, and go somewhere chilled for the night we are so happy we stayed.
Giggles was super lovely and friendly, the rooms where basic but nice beds were comfortable. But view well the view was incredible! It was just a really nice chilled vibe here!! Definitely coming back again!!
Thanks to giggles for being such a good host!
