• Andreas (8/5): Clean, quiet and excellent price/value overnight stay - We chose Christika homestay for their price/value and we weren't disappointed. We only had one night as we waited for the next morning to board our boat for a 3 day trip. The location is near the airport, in a more quiet neighborhood (side road). Rooms were ok and matched the photos/description. Christika Homestay picked us up with 2 cars as we were a family of 5 plus luggage, so that was very generous. Drivers waited for us already when we're still at immigration at LBJ airport. All went smooth, can really suggest Christika Homestay if you're looking for a quiet, clean but no frills overnight in Labuan Bajo. It's a bit off from the harbour area where all the restaurants, coffee shops and most importantly the boat trips/travel agencies are. You have to keep this in mind and this means you're dependant on accepting the prices that local drivers ask for as there are no official taxis and Gojek/Grab only works for Motorbike pickup (so only one person) or food/drinks delivery. Breakfast was simple and we skipped most of it. But then again you have to take the price into account.
• Maaike (8/5): Good basic hotel, Joe was a great host helping with arranging our land trip trough Flores. - We came to Christika for one night on our way to a Komodo Cruise. The hotel is great for a short stay: clean, friendly staff and good AC. What made the say special was the service from Joe. He helped us plan for a 6 day tour across Flores to see all the highlights for after our return from the Cruise. We had a very friendly driver who was always on time. We had a wonderful trip on Flores with his help. I highly recommend staying at Christika, ask Joe to help you out! It is a bit further from the city center but they have a good and cheap taxi service.

• Deanna (9/5): Clean and comfy, free airport transfers - Excellent breakfast, very clean, comfortable beds, helpful staff, free airport pickup and drop-off. We were there for 2 separate nights, before and after a liveaboard cruise. We stored our excess luggage and left laundry to be done regular service. It was ready when we returned & only 50K IDR per kg. Walking distance to restaurants for dinner. Location was ok, not great for exploring or shopping.
• Jermaine (6/5): - Prima voor een nachtje, maar meer ook niet. Personeel had er niet zoveel zin in. Taxi regelen was al teveel gevraagd. Kamers gedateerd en niks in de directe omgeving. Wij sliepen hier 1 nacht voordat wr de boot opgingen, daar kan prima, maar verwacht verder niet veel.

• Amanda (10/5): Great stay with accommodating and friendly staff! - Christika Homestay was exactly what we needed the night before our boat trip around Komodo. The stay included pickup from airport and breakfast the next morning. Location is outside the main city area, but still has shops and restaurants in walking distance.

Rooklucht via ventilatierooster badkamer, schimmel op de kitranden in de badkamer, Geen koffie- en theefaciliteiten en koelkastje op de kamer, kapotte stoel, geen meubilair op vies balkon, niet schoon onder bed. Wil je een scooter huren of excursie boeken, doe dit niet via het hotel! Dit bespaart je veel geld en ellende.

• Libby (7/5): Very friendly staff - Included transfer to and from airport was really helpful. Staff were very friendly. Room looks like pictures shown. The bathroom would get very wet after a shower because the drain is on the opposite side of the room and the floor has no slope. The shower itself is just a handheld nozzle.

• Maciej Jakub (8/5): Nice place, we felt really safe - Room was big, with air conditioning. Breakfast was simple but really good (fried eggs, toasts, fried rice, vegetables and watermelon). Coffee was also nice. It was possible to buy beverages like cola or beer at the homestay what was nice. Owners were really nice and helpful, they offer pick up from the airport in a way better price than taxi drivers at the airport. Also owner drove me to the laundry which was really helpful.

• Cecilia (9/5): Heerlijk - Hele fijne homestay. Ik kwam net aan in Labuan Bajo na de Komodo boottocht en was vooral toe aan comfort en rust. Het verblijf is rustig gelegen, iets buiten het centrum van de stad en de haven. Met scooter/Grab ben je er binnen 10 minuten. De kamer was ruim en schoon en het bed lag heel lekker. Badkamer was ruim en prima. De airco in de kamer was goed en aangenaam. Het personeel is heel vriendelijk en helpen je graag. Ik heb mijn was laten doen bij hun en ze brengen je gratis van en naar de airport. Er is in de ochtend een simpel, maar lekker ontbijtje en je krijgt gratis water, wat heel prettig is. Dit verblijf was precies wat ik nodig had na een avontuur op zee, ik ben hier goed tot rust gekomen. Aanrader!

• Marvin (10/5): - Super établissement, il est récent (2022). Les chambres sont propres et spacieuses, nous avions également un petit balcon pour faire sécher nos affaires et/ou se poser. Une fontaine à eau est disponible pour remplir vos bouteilles. Le petit déjeuner est local et délicieux. Vous pourrez le prendre tranquillement dans le jardin. Ils proposent la location de scooter pour 100k IDR la journée, de laver vos vêtements, ainsi que le tour complet dans la parc de Komodo. Le personnel est toujours disponible. Un grand plus est qu’ils viennent vous chercher et vous ramènent à l’aéroport. Quelques rangements pour les affaires seraient un plus.

• Ruju Patel Carlson (8/5): - The family run Christika Homestay is excellent for staying in Labuan Bajo. The staff is extremely helpful, the rooms and the property in general is clean and comfortable. Their pick up and drop service is a BIG plus especially if you have luggage as there's only Grab bikes that work in LBJ currently. 2 complimentary water bottles and water dispensers on each floor to keep refilling them is a great way to decrease plastic use. For those looking to stay near the harbour / town center this might be a bit far, well only 7 mins on a bike but if you don't ride one, you can always get a grab bike.
• Ruju Patel Carlson (9/5): - We stayed again at Christika Homestay after our Komodo boat trip and rented a motor bike and went around LBJ to the waterfalls, the sunset point and the sunrise point along with a few places down by the harbour.. it was very pleasant and fun to spend some extra time here.

They are reachable and helpful. There was a smell in the first room they gave us, however, they immediately changed to a different one when we asked it.

The location is around 10 minutes by car out of town and since the hotel taxi isn’t always available, be ready to get a Grab motorbike down to the harbour. We were a little nervous to do this at first but enjoyed it in the end and did it twice.

Ci è stata data una camera standard anziché una di qualità superiore come da prenotazione e un membro dello staff è stato molto sincero ed onesto nel comunicarci l’errore senza che noi ce ne fossimo accorti e ci ha addirittura restituito una parte dei soldi. Non ci è stato comunicato l’orario della colazione, la camera non è stata pulita tra il primo e il secondo giorno di soggiorno

• Philipp (8/5): Good budget stay - It is not a homestay but more a professional b&b. We had a good time at Christika and would book it again. Nice backyard for breakfast, small balcony with our room. Room was okay, bed quite comfortable. Shower had warm water but not stable. Cleanliness could be improved, some staints on the floor for example. Bathroom was okay but everything gets wer when you shower. No opportunities to store or hang your stuff.

• Simpson (8/5): - I've just wound up 4 nights here. Firstly it's a small hotel, not a traditional homestay. It's a couple of km out of town but l didn't mind. The downtown area is quite busy, touristy and noisy (5am mosque alarm anyone?). With a bike you are only 5 min away on good roads. Rooms are functional and comfy enough. Decent bedding, roomy bathroom, good hot water when it arrives. The aircon gets the job done (just). The buffet brekky is always a welcome sight. Staff were always around when you needed them. This is one of those hotels with lousy acoustics. Lots of tiles and hard surfaces. When someone closes their door it sounds like a slam. When someone speaks in a corridor it sounds like shouting. Def aim for an upstairs room away from the busy communal and reception areas.

• Harmen (7/5): Rustige locatie maar buiten het centrum - Rustige locatie, geen last van gebedsoproepen van de moskee, vriendelijk personeel, gratis vervoer van en naar het vliegveld. In de vier nachten dat ik verbleef werd er niet schoongemaakt en werden de prullenbakken niet geleegd (ook niet van de wc), koud-lauwe douche, ontbijt is prima maar elke dag hetzelfde (nasi, gebakken ei, toast met jam), je kunt dagelijks vragen om schone handdoeken, je bent altijd afhankelijk van vervoer om naar het stadje te gaan met bijvoorbeeld de Grab-bike.

• Marco (8/5): Solides, hotelähnliches Homestay - Gutes Homestay, dass schon eher ein Hotel ist. Das Personal organisiert die wichtigsten Dinge, die man braucht. Insbesondere Taxi oder Scooter sind wichtig, da sich die Unterkunft etwas ausserhalb des Zentrums befindet. Das Frühstück wird etwas monoton, wenn man mehrere Tage dort verbringt. Der angebotene Shuttle-Service ins Zentrum war nicht immer verfügbar, sodass wir auf andere Fahrer zurückgegriffen haben. Richtig tolls wirds, wenn man mit Scootern unabhängig unterwegs ist.

• Cass Wanderlust (9/5): Comfortable stay before Komodo - Great place, wonderful staff, nice free pick up from airport, the cutest puppy, comfortable bed, clean room. The breakfast I went for breaky at half 9 and most of it was put away and not a lot of options for vegetarian/vegan. No bread left so I could not even have toast with jam which was a bit of a shame but honestly this did not change how much I liked the place.

• Nicolas (9/5): - Très bon rapport qualité-prix, le personnel était super et toujours disponible que ce soit pour une location de scooter, un allongement de la durée du séjour, un pressing, où les trajets aller et retour jusqu’à l’aéroport. C’est un peu excentré et le petit dej pourrait être un peu mieux, mais ce n’est pas gênant :)
