- Wisam (6/5): - Location, cleanliness of the house and quietness The bathrooms on the second floor are not all working.
- Maria (6/5): -
- David Rodriguez Morato (6/5): Dreck überall - Bad in jedem Zimmer.
- Maria (10/5): We loved it - We absolutely loved the quietness of the place. It’s a beautiful rural house with rich history. It’s lovely owners told us a lot about the place and it was very interesting to know all the little “secrets” of the house that is more that 300 years old. We loved the detail that you can use the kitchen (not sure about the stove, we personally didn’t use that) but there’s basically everything you might need to make some simple meal. There’s also delivery from the next village if you don’t feel like cooking or eating outside. The owners offer breakfast for an additional cost.
There’s two lovely kitties at the property though they’re not allowed to get inside the house.
The house is in a tiny village which basically is a long street but you can find some interesting and unexpected places nearby, such as La Casa de las Mariquitas (A Love Bug’s House) or a couple of properties with lots of interesting birds including emus, ostriches and even a wallaby. You can also take a walk along part of the Green Trail ( La Ruta Verde) to the nearby village La Cellera de Ter. Everything was great except maybe a tiny detail. Our room had 2 beds pot together so for those who like to sleep close to each other it might be a bit uncomfortable. And the bed was a bit firm. But we still had goodnights sleep
- Xavier (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gonzalez (10/5): Exceptional - Great people, the owners are the best hosts you can get. They love to suggest you spots around, and they give you privacy to enjoy the silence of nature. The mattress was a little bit old.
- Fernando (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jörg-achim (8/5): Very good -
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location. We had no car, but we're able to travel about either walking on using local bus. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming.. We felt like family.
Spent a few days just enjoying the pool.
Lovely evening spent playing cards in the garden, with cats meandering around us.
Definitely recommend some mosquito spray, though Nothing
- Fernando (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing staff. The hotel is surrounded by nature and established in a very calm place. Nothing
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional - My host was super friendly and took care of me very well. I felt very welcome and breakfast was excellent. Cosy room... Nothing
- Zesrad (9/5): Relaxing with hundreds of chirping little birds - The garden was just beautiful, the owner is a very lovely lady and they are there to help you enjoy your stay.
The house was just amazing and there were loads of little birds residing in the stone wall. We couldn't communicate well because nobody could speak English. But the owner was resourceful and we made it work.
- Irina (10/5): An amazing spot to get detached. Alone or with kids. - Antique house, 300 years old owned by a family in just 1,5 hours from Barcelona. the furniture and decorations are authentic and really cosy. it was I returned to my childhood which I spent in a village. The area is very rural, the house is surrounded by small cow farm, sheep farm and some birds farms, but there was no smell or other inconveniences. A pedestrian about 5 km circle goes round the house along with Ter river which was very quiet and shallow probably due to lack of water. Sustega water reservoir is in 30 min drive from the house. It has a really impressive dumb and mountain river.
- Olivier (7/5): Good -
- Alexandrts (10/5): Perfect retreat at a great price - It was so perfect that we stayed for another night!
This is the first-time I'm writing 2 reviews for the same place - YOU HAVE TO VISIT!
The owners made everything possible and impossible to make this stay perfect, they even lightened the fireplace in the evening to give us a true country house feel!
A lot of children play activities - badminton, ping pong, play cards, and much more to meet every expectation.
And again - no people around! You can literarily hear the wind... Its PERFECT
- Alexandrts (10/5): The most perfect retreat from the city - 1. The pictures make to justice. This place is PERFECT!!!
2. Imagine your self in the middle of nowhere, with no people around, with birds singing and all the day around smells like fresh-cut-grass.
3. The house is magical - every corner, every small detail, you live in a 100 old perfectly functioned true Spanish villa Nothing!
- Niamh (9/5): Beautiful. - The location was perfect, really beautiful....peaceful, with a wonderfully quaint atmosphere
The house was gorgeousand full of 'encanto'.
There is a huge field out front for relaxing and for running around or to kick a ball.
The hosts were so friendly and helpful and loved having the kids around and
there was a stock of board games and ball games to play during the afternoon. We absolutely loved it!!!
- Harriet (9/5): An amazing stay in a magical place. We will definitely come back! - A gorgeous casa rural with two lovely cats who accompanied us for yoga on the patio. Lovely hostess and beautifully restored house. We loved this place! We are English, so we would have swam in the pool, even in March!
- Paula (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (6/5): Slightly disappointed. Price was on the high side . Mediocre breakfast . - lovely property but feeling a bit run down . Bedroom comfortable , owners super helpful . Thought there was a restaurant there, bit infact there were restaurants in nearest town. Fairly basic ones but good and reasonable.
- 909eleanor (10/5): Friendly and relaxing - Excellent hotel with a very friendly owner who did all he could to make us welcome. The food was some of the best we had this holiday.
We are touring on a motorcycle and we were able to park in the grounds.
A very relaxed feel to the place.
- T4071YVmartins (10/5): Hidden countryside gem - Welcoming, homely and accommodating. Beautiful rustic property in a tranquil part of Catalonia. The perfect place to get away from daily life, a hidden gem in the countryside with hills in the background. Great home cooking and delicious local red wine.
- catherinecO5861OW (10/5): Just what we needed. - Beautiful surroundings and not too far from Girona Airport.
Aldo was a wonderful host. Treated us like family. He noticed on my passport that it was my birthday so bought out a bottle of bubbly for us and a cake with candle. Which was a lovely touch and wonderful surprise.
Very reasonable price for our stay and meals.
Great pool to relax in.
We are looking forward to returning again.
- Moka2013 (8/5): Nice memories - We stayed for one night on our way from Olot by bike, two adults and two children. If you ask the children what they remembered most - the answer will be- three-weeks-old kittens, table tennis and great pasta for dinner, if you ask the adults - the tranquility, the pool and three-weeks-old kittens. In summary, everybody enjoyed and everybody played with the kittens.... Recommended for peace and quiet fans.
- pdw106 (8/5): Great rustic retreat - Excellent rustic retreat with a very charming owner for whom nothing seemed too much trouble. Conveniently located in the countryside outside Gerona with easy access to the many attractions of the area. The swimming pool was a welcome asset after a day sightseeing.
- Andrew (8/5): Rural experience - Great
- Katherine003 (10/5): Great rural location but easily accessible. Welcoming host - A lovely place to stay, clean, comfortable with good food. Nice original style of building has been kept. Great location to cycle to and from on designated cycle routes and with a nice pool. Our host was really helpful and looked after us well.
- SumiRajoo (10/5): A cosy stay - We were here for a night as part of our cycling trip from Olot. When we came in, the weather was very bad- cold and raining...the lady made us very comfortable, got the heater running and got us some lovely coffee and cakes. The house is beautiful and our girls loved playing with the cats. It is good to walk or cycle around El pastoral and we saw some lovely farm houses and a 200 year old chapel in the woods. It was a lovely stay. Though the land lady didn't speak much Spanish she was very sweet and accommodative. We managed with google translate :)) the food is yum.She did a vegetarian dinner for us , very nice paella and grilled veggies. the desserts were also homemade and we had a good time chatting with the rest of the guests. If you want to be in a quiet place away from the crowds in peace and be close to nature with good hospitality, this is the place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great experience - We were made most welcome by staff and especially Aldo the manager. He was attentive to our needs and his English made communication easy. Dinner was good and breakfast excellent. The house was located in a picturesque village surrounded by farmlands and was very quiet. The gardens were well maintained and very pretty. We would recommend it for anyone seeking a tranquil stay in beautiful surroundings.
- andrei_250171 (10/5): Unique experience - My wife and I traveled around Catalonia in October and stayed in La Cellera De Ter in this hotel for two nights, one of them was our wedding anniversary. The choice of this hotel was made due to its convenient location - I planned to do some fishing on the river which is very close to the hotel, and we also planned to visit Gerona which is very close. However, we also enjoyed the hotel very much, in fact, we never stayed in such hotels in Spain before - it is very small, only few rooms, the building is old but very well maintained, and we simply loved the design inside - fairly simple but very nice and traditional. It happened that we were the only guests on our anniversary day, we had excellent dinner with traditional Catalan dishes and local wine and enjoyed it very much. The manager of the hotel was always helpful. What added a lot of positive impressions as well was that there were five cats living there in the garden, extremely friendly and willing to play with people, and we love cats a lot.
- Chukotka (8/5): Great food in a cosy, rural setting - We stayed here for a night as part of a cycle tour on the Via Verde, and the owners were kind and accommodating to us and our two young girls, aged 4 and 6. The highlight was certainly the meal we enjoyed on the terrace in the evening sun - fresh and delicious. Breakfast was good, with more on offer than the usual sweet, processed food you usually get in Spain, and the coffee was terrific. A worthwhile choice.
- Stradavelo (10/5): Fabulous Retreat - We have now stayed twice at Can Jepet; once in the hotel with a party of 3 in Oct 2005 and again in the Hotel and House with a party 25 in July 2006. Francesc & Candi were excellent hosts who took care of everything. The rooms are all decorated in great colors and included paintings from a local artist. Candi makes wonderful Catalan meals in the hotel kitchen. Can Jepet is located in the La Selva region of Girona 18 kilometers from the town of Girona. Away from the hustle and bustle of the coast, this was a great location for our week long bike trip with excellent routes in every direction. The hotel has 5 bedrooms and is air conditioned. The attached house had 6 more bedrooms, a kitchen and great room. Laundry facilities available. All bedrooms had their own bathrooms. The grounds have a pool, ping pong table, grass field all which kept the 13 children on the trip well entertained. With easy access to the Green Route bicycle path, and bikes from nearby Amer, Can Jepet is everything a group of family cyclists could ask for... And the free wireless internet access was also greatly appreciated.
