Guest Reviews
- Mark (9/5): -
- Danny (9/5): Totalement recommandable! - Propre, bien équipé, tranquille, vue sur le Ben Nevis, confortable. La façon de régler le chauffage.
- Joseph (9/5): I enjoyed every moment of my stay in Blackwater Cottage. Would love to stay there again. - I liked that it had a dishwashing machine,
It was clean and tidy, toilet didn’t have moulds. Great that the location was away from the noise and crowds, it was good walking distance from the shops. Price was very reasonable. The shower and the sink inside the shower room do not drain well.
- Chris (10/5): Everything we needed for a weekend away. -
- Holger (8/5): - Lage und Ausstattung Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber, vor Beginn 3 Nachrichten etc., und vor Ort eine Frage, auf die Antwort warte ich heute noch
- Steve (5/5): Attention to detail is needed, getting abit sloppy I think. - Great shower, location, big table, warm When I booked I presumed it was a cottage on its own,not a complex type place, with us sandwiched between two,it wasn’t how the photos on booking.com showed it I thought, otherwise I’d have looked elsewhere.
The bathroom basin was unusable,I contacted a number and they arranged to come the next day whilst we were out,but never came. The owner showed up at 6pm with a bottle of bleach. I told her that bleach wouldn’t work as I’m a plumber myself I told her the trap needed stripping and cleaning and that would do the trick. I said I’d do it the next day as she never offered to get a professional plumber in herself to tackle it,all very embarrassing and I’ve never come across that type of service before. The company who manage the ‘cottage’ weren’t bothered as I’ve had no comms off them about it,seems they’ve took my money and won’t help. Anyway for £200 a night I expect better ,beds too small,my lad 6’1” so he struggled,my bed was the same. All knives in kitchen were blunt, wanted a salad but no chance of that. Big one was no non stick frying pan,who stocked the kitchen ? The manual for the cooker was missing so struggled with that,it says in the handbook it’s under the sink but isn’t. The bathroom cabinet hinders the basin so you can’t wash or shave or clean teeth without banging your head and getting water all over flow. The curtains are just a gesture I think as the light from outside still comes in,maybe blackout blinds ?

- Anonymous (8/5): Loved it, perfect base for our short break, nice and quiet, clean and convenient - Nice and simple, comfy bed, great shower and kitchen Sofas were a bit uncomfortable/ sloping downward
- Jacqueline (10/5): We had a wonderful time there and it was in a great quiet location to get every where we wanted. Have no problem staying - Location once we found via help from lady who was walking her dog home was wonderful. So quiet and very space full in side. Everything we needed was there. If we are ever to stay in Fort William again would be happy to book. Unfortunately after 2nd night I was unable to sleep in the main bed, I went and used one of the singles. Maybe look into getting a new mattress. Everything else was prefect. When we did arrive we had to open the windows and turn the central heating down as it was far too hot in there.
- Simon (10/5): Clean, quiet and comfortable - Excellent quiet location, but not far from the local amenities. Very well situated to get to the nevis range. Parking would be tight for 2 vehicles.
- Steven (6/5): Clean and functional, great location, let down by a few things. - Location was perfect for us.
The heating broke and the owner had it fixed immediately. Shower goes cold randomly
Mice in the ceiling at night.
Kitchen a bit under equipped, nothing major but no cheese grater, no coffee making device. The kind of things we’re used to finding in a rental like this.
- Debbie (8/5): Very good -
- Daniel (10/5): nice place shame close to Fort William but far enough away from the crowds - good location outside Fort William and the madness of traffic. Place was very nice and we were comfortable. Host contacted me after we left and said we had not paid.. I had incorrectly assumed it was done via Booking.com and our credit card. There was no reception there that we were aware of, so I was a little annoyed. I had to organise payment which was a pain
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Darius (9/5): Superb -
- Graeme (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sourit (9/5): Superb -
- Diana (9/5): Excellent - Pretty much everything Pretty much nothing. A cafetière would be nice. As would small glasses. We couldn’t find the bins.
