Guest Reviews
- Lisa (8/5): Was perfect trip away to disconnect from the world - We loved the character of the old farmhouse and the warm homely feel. Was great location so peaceful We were very happy with the property
- Rosemarie (10/5): Lovely relaxing pet friendly farm stay with welcoming hosts - Beautiful old style farm cottage, with very comfortable beds and everything we needed for us and our dogs to have a relaxing stay. The family were welcoming and generous including giving us some fresh goats cheese from their goats. There was nothing we didn’t like but some people may prefer something a bit more modern and closer to the town centre
- Jayde (10/5): -
- Roger (8/5): Very welcoming hosts. The helicopter servicing facility co located on the farm was mind blowing! - Rustic timber farm cottage No tv, but no big deal
- Steve (8/5): Great experience for the kids of a little piece of country & farm life. Able to roam freely. - Children (& adults) were able to interact with farm animals, particularly the goats.
Tour of Helico (located on the same property) where they repair & refurbish Robinson helicopters was a highlight.
Hosts very friendly and accommodating.
We were able to make good use of the table tennis facilities, playground equipment for the children, etc.
Managed to get the children away from their over reliance on technology (entertainment re:gaming & movies) for a few days.
No television.
Doing a wide variety of other activities with the children.
Getting out into some real country.
Great value for money. Kitchen could have done with a scraper, a baking dish and we found a booklet in relation to an electric frypan, in the kitchen but no sign of the frypan itself.

- Selter (10/5): Amazing place to Stay - The staff were amazing and friendly, this place is amazing for families.
My children had an amazing time help the owner feed the farm animals each morning.
Defiantly would stay there again :)
- April (10/5): - Neri and her family welcomed us warmly. The place was very clean, tidy, and had everything we needed. There was even a table tennis set, lots of books, board games, and more. Neri provided us with firewood and helped us light the wood stove. She treated my daughter like her own—taking her along to milk the goats and cows, feed the animals, and collect eggs from the chooks. It was truly a dreamlike experience for my daughter. We had such a relaxing and enjoyable time. Everything was just perfect. We will definitely come back.
- Hui (9/5): One of the most memorable stays - The cottage is old but very clean. There are lots of things to do for a short stay especially feeding animals. We were lucky to see baby goats born. Nothing
- Nathan (9/5): Superb -
- Pekish (8/5): Very good -
- Giuliana (10/5): A real authentic farmstay - The house had real old world charm. It was comfy, spacious and homely. I liked the farm as it was really authentic feel and with goats, chickens and cows. Some of the buildings were really old and weatherd which gave it the old country charm. It felt like you were going back in time. Very peaceful and quite. If you want to disconnect from the stress of city life, this is a place to come. The house is quite old and charming with it comes some little quirks. The front door is original and can be a little tricky to close but can lock easily. The floorboards squeak a little, but it really adds to the authentic feel of the place.
- Danielle (7/5): Good - Table tennis and animals No tv
- Kim (9/5): A great stay in the country! Host really welcoming. - The host Neri was so welcoming and kind. Me ad my young children had a wonderful time. They were included in the animal feeding and love the open spaces to play. The cottage was very comfortable and bedding really cosy. I will be coming back! The fireplace was amazing! N/a
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Nicola (8/5): Lovely country escape for the family, with friendly goats and plenty of games. - Our family really enjoyed our long weekend away at this farmstay. Close to Alexandra and the rail trail but felt very rural and a great escape from the city. Our kids loved the friendly goats, table tennis and board games. The 3 bedroom house had plenty of room for our family of 5 and the beds were super comfortable. The host Neri was responsive and welcoming. Nothing we didn’t like. But bring along (or buy) basics like oil, pepper, dishwashing powder. The supermarket is only a 5 min drive so this wasn’t a problem.
- Jason (9/5): Superb -
- Tricia (9/5): Superb - Extra touch of roses in all the rooms- immediately noticed by the ladies in my group.
Amazing selection of books, games and puzzles.
Feeding the goats.
Seeing the newly hatched chickens.
Comfortable beds. Cosy fire.
- Vikki (9/5): A proper Farmstay, allowing the family to just switch off and enjoy the animals and rural surroundings. - Loved the quiet, family time in front of the fire. Kids loved feeding the animals and playing in the gardens. Neri and family were so friendly and welcoming, can’t wait to come back!
- Susan (10/5): Would definitely book again. - Clean, country peaceful but close to town. Enough play equipment to entertain a little boy outdoors including feeding the animals. Absolutely nothing.
- Warren (8/5): Very good -
- Cheri (8/5): Very good -
- Elanna (8/5): Very good -
- Zuleiny (10/5): Exceptional - It was super quiet, there were some animals that you could feed. A good place for relaxing and getting away from the day to day

- Rony (7/5): Good -
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Sandra (8/5): Very good - Cosy, comfortable, close to town, pet welcomed, great ping pong table Nothing
- Carmel (7/5): Good family accomodation - Big family accomodation with plenty to keep the kiddies happy. King bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. All you need for a short or long stay. The bathroom was a long way from the bedrooms. Shower is in the bath.
- Neal (8/5): Very cosy and relaxing. Friendly hosts. Would definately stay agian. - Peaceful surroundings. Away from Highway. Farm animals. Friendly hosts. Proximity to shops.
- Rabea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were genuinely nice, friendly people. Besides a warm welcome (and some fresh farm eggs - Yum) they took us around the farm at feeding time to meet a variety of animals. Great for kids and a good location for the Rail trail and other local attractions. We'll definitely try and get back with the grandkids for the baby goats.
- Emma (10/5): Authentic farm stay experience with beautiful surrounds on a friendly, family orientated property. - The farm stay experience was wonderful, being able to interact with the animals which were extremely tame and friendly made it an authentically enjoyable experience for both myself and my four year old. -
- Travis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (9/5): Much more interesting than a motel or hotel. Having roots in the area it was very nostalgic for me. - Great hosts. Plenty of space and all needs catered for. Close to town. No down sides.
- Kowlin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vickie (9/5): Great people, great stay. - Great country farm stay accommodation. Quiet, comfortable, loads of space, everything we needed. Some may find the lack of TV or the location out of town an issue, but for us it was a bonus. Has wifi as well. Close to the rail trail that we were riding on. Hosts were super friendly and helpful. There wasn't anything that was a problem.
- Lois (9/5): Very relaxing farm stay. Peaceful and loved the woodfire that kept us very cosy. - Very comfortable country cottage. A bonus was visiting the nanny goats and their very cute kids - thank you Neri.
- Simo021 (10/5): Exceptional - The farm stay was precisely what our family needed. Neri and the team were so welcoming and my family enjoyed feeding and interacting with the animals every morning and being able to switch off from all the technology and enjoy nature.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Noreen (10/5): Great stay - highly recommend this cottage - Great location, just out of town, right in the countryside.
Farm was interesting, fed the poddy calves, and there were friendly goats and chooks.
Home cosy and comfortable, king size bed amazing.
Log Fire completed the experience.
Will definitely go back.
The Alexandra region is also very interesting, lots to see and do - it is cold up there in the winter.
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- Lei (10/5): Excellent and relaxing family away experience. - Host was very friendly. Our stay was peaceful and relaxed. We were lucky to see the bon fire and shared mush mellows with host and their kids. Feeding animals were really fun experience for my kids. Nothing
- Deirdre (7/5): Adequate accommodation for the price. - The farm aspect and being only 5 kms out of town. The wood fireplace and accommodations were rustic. it was difficult to get a internet signal and the wifi password didn’t work. There was no kindling for the fire and the dishwasher didn’t work. There’s no TV or radio in the property.
- Susan (7/5): We liked the quiet location and bird life. We appreciated being on a farm for our short break away from the city. - The comfy bed and the historic house in a farm setting. We would have liked a more up to date sound system and a tv. Wifi was very erratic. Also there was no usual supplies we have come to expect like pepper and salt.
- Eric (8/5): Very good - Nice and quiet
No internet, phone, tv or radio
Animals Due to a lot of rain. Mud to entry. But, it is a farm
- Sheridan (10/5): Staying at Alexandra farmstay is like staying within the warm embrace of a big Country hug. Perfect! - Staying at Alexandra farmstay is like staying within the warm embrace of a big Country hug. Loved the location, the home itself, the beds (super comfy!) and the overall warmth and vibe of this stay.
My young kids (toddlers) absolutely loved feeding/ patting the animals, playing in the sandpit and swings and just running around the property.
The house is well set up for a family and provides the perfect opportunity to reconnect together. We have already decided we would like to make it an annual thing. So Neri and family - you'll likely hear from us again soon :)
Thanks so much.
- Zdenko (8/5): Very good -
