- Fred (10/5): We enjoyed our stay very much - We were selfcatering. The location is ideal for us, a minute’s walk from our daughter’s house. It would have been good if I were a little shorter.
- Sally (10/5): -
- Susan (10/5): -
- Fred (10/5): -
- Francesca (10/5): Beautiful, cosy and perfect for our Christmassy getaway- thank you Longbridge Cottage! -
- Mia (10/5): -
- Mark (9/5): - The attention to detail was very much appreciated.
The place was so cozy.
Would not hesitate to book again.
- Duncan (8/5): - Clean & well equipped.
Quaint & clever conversion.
Lovely gardens. Nothing we disliked. However the bedroom is a mezzanine reached by a spiral staircase & the gardens are either stone “cobbled” or reached by a steep and long flight of steps (with handrails & worth the effort!) so one needs to have a reasonably useable pair of legs. So may not suit some people-we loved it!
- Rosemary (8/5): Convenient place to stay and sleep while going to Bath and West Showground each day. - Convenient for Bath and West Showground. Private off road parking space was helpful. Cottage is tiny but full of character. Friendly responsive host. Shower was great . Comfy sofa. Bumping my head on the beams in the sleeping area. Not being able to leave the Velux roof window open in case a cat came in (it got hot at night especially as the bed is on a platform near the roof). Couldn't find a pair of scissors in the kitchen.
- Linda (10/5): We enjoyed a lovely stay at Longbridge Cottage - Everything! We had no issues or problems regarding the accommodation; the location was perfect for our day trips and there was a secluded, sunny seating area for our use. Our host Tanya was very pleasant and approachable. There was nothing we disliked about it.
- Nicola (9/5): Lovely cottage would recommend,friendly hosts. -
- Geoff (10/5): -
- Ray (9/5): Short stay self-catering break - Really good welcome, well appointed and exceptionally clean. All good
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elaine (9/5): Definitely would recommend! -
- Kerrie (10/5): Cosy comforts at Longbridge Cottage - Friendly and helpful hostess, Tania. Good quiet location. Designated parking spot.
The cottage had everything I needed to enjoy my stay. Supermarket a short drive or walk away.
Lovely cosy fire. Not easy taking luggage up the spiral staircase. Better left downstairs. Not a big issue for a solo traveller.
- Fiona (9/5): Excellent private - and peaceful - stay. - The accommodation was private, very well equipped and not too far from shops. It was very peaceful and quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable and extra touches such as milk, tea, coffee were nice. The fluffy towels were amazing! The weather!
- Shannon (7/5): Good -
- Deakin (5/5): Small cottage, quirky - Good location to visit Cheddar Gorge. Kitchen is well equipped. Bathroom clean. Interesting cottage but very small. A little Christmas tree was a nice touch. The night motion lights on the stairs were coming on at night randomly. Had to go downstairs at night to use the bathroom and it didn't feel safe. The stairs are steep and we both nearly fell at the bottom step. Sofa and dining chairs uncomfortable & worn out. Place had spider webbs above our bed. We may have got unlucky and arrived after the place was vacant for some time, as it smelled musty also. The parking space was on a driveway, but the driveway was out of sight, outside the gate.
- Natalie (10/5): A beautiful break from city life - The property was beautiful and the owner himself was a lovely gentleman. It was perfect for what we wanted and was amazingly quiet. Their was nothing not to like
- Catherine (9/5): Excellent thank you -
- Ernie (10/5): Perfect little cottage. - We liked how well thought out everything was, the cottage was well equipped and helpfully labelled. A nice welcome note and complimentary milk and cookies which were a lovely touch. Not applicable, we couldn’t fault it.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect cozy cottage for a couple on a trip to Somerset
- John (8/5): Lovely well equipped, comfortable cottage. - Good location for event we were attending at South and West Showground.
Parking on the premises.
Very comfortable bed.
Well equipped.
Friendly hosts Would like to have known in advance that the bedroom was accessed via a spiral staircase, especially as the bathroom was downstairs.
- Robin (8/5): Great spot for a trip to Somerset! - Shepton Mallet is well located for a visit to Somerset and the cottage is easy to find and a short walk to the town centre. Supermarket nearby if self catering.
It literally is a stone cottage in the grounds of a larger house where the hosts have a B&B. You don't see other people so a quiet stay. The cottage is nicely furnished. We didn't do any cooking but kitchen seemed well equipped. Large comfortable bed upstairs accessible by a spiral staircase which has LED lighting which came on if you used it at night. If arriving by car there is off-road parking.
Very friendly hosts who were happy to provide local information about eateries, places to visit etc. Made a nice change as so many places can hardly be bothered to say Hello let alone talk to you. The spiral staircase was a bit of a challenge for us older folks! If you have any mobility issues you need to keep this in mind. Just made sure we didn't need to keep going up and down from the sleeping area.
- Hogben (9/5): Superb -
- James (9/5): Superb -
- David (5/5): Fine for a short stay if spending most of the time out - The central Shepton location and own on site parking was good. The graden and upper terraces were beautiful. Also it was cool depite high outside temperatures. The cottage is damp because of its hill side location and age.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful place, very comfortable, lovely garden, excellent kitchen facilities. Would love to have stayed longer, much longer.
- Abigail (10/5): Beautiful property - Really great facilities and amenities that we usually have to worry about- but didn’t, so meant a lot!
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yvonne (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (10/5): Absolutely fab. Would stay again -
- Lisa (10/5): Fantastic cottage in the heart of Shepton Mallet - Fantastic cottage in the heart of Shepton Mallet. Great owners who are really friendly and make everything easy. Cottage is well equipped and everything you need is in place for a relaxing break. Easy parking and great to have separate entrance to get to cottage. Just a shame the weather was a bit too wet to be able to be outside in the terrace area.
- Lidia (10/5): Beautiful cottage in Shepton Mallet - Cozy cottage, super clean and definitely makes your stay 10/10
- Lisa (10/5): Fantastic cottage in the heart of Shepton Mallet - Great cottage in the heart of Shepton mallet set in the grounds of longbridge house. Cottage is equipped with everything needed for a self catering break and Tanya and Robert are great hosts. Nice extra touches like night lights in the cottage.
- Mary (9/5): Superb -
- Ed (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous property only minutes walk from the town.
Really comfy bed and cosy cottage.
Well equipped kitchen, everything you need for a short stay.
Beautifully furnished.
Excellent host.
Quiet location.

- Barbara (10/5): Just perfect in every way. - Beautiful setting and everything you could need provided. Private off street parking. Robert and Tanya were lovely hosts and super helpful.
- Steven (9/5): Comfortable and ideal location - Well equipped and comfortable
- Chris (10/5): Great - Beautiful cottage, great facilities, lovely hosts and adorable cats! nothing
- Andy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sue (9/5): Perfect, clean, hosts very welcoming and helpful. - The location was superb to access buses to Glastonbury.
- Stuart (10/5): Over delivered in terms of a short stay in a traditional cottage. - I stay away quite a lot with work and this really was one of the very most pleasant accommodation experiences I have had in a long while. The cottage is very comfortable and immaculately presented with everything you could need for a few nights away. I only stayed three nights, but would have found it sufficiently comfortable to have stayed for a couple of weeks. Checking in & out was stress free. All furnishings appeared to be very new and the kitchen area fully equipped to properly self-cater. Will definitely stay again and would highly recommend. Banging my head on the low slanted ceiling in the bedroom a couple of times. Totally my own fault, but one to bear in mind if you do stay at this property.
- Chris (10/5): A Home Away from Home. -
- Terry (10/5): We would love to return to this beautiful property - no better recommendation really. - Quality and range of facilities are exceptional and meet whatever degree of self catering you may require. Every detail has been carefully thought through. Comfortable and cosy but, being on 2 levels, spacious and, for our 4 night visit, far preferable to only a bedroom accommodation. The private garden areas are lovely and so peaceful that there was no awareness of even passing traffic. A perfect base to explore the attractive towns, cities and attractions close by. Every effort has been made to convert this attractive old building into fully comfortable accommodation but, understandably, there are minor limitations to what can be achieved. You will be aware from the property description that there is a spiral staircase up to the bedroom (with motion activated lighting) and toilet facilities are downstairs. Fine for us, but possibly a distraction for others. The bedroom is lovely and the beams very attractive. They are low in places though, so just take care ... they can bite! So, nothing we didn't like!
- Geoff (10/5): Great stay, wish we could of stayed longer. - we loved it, it was so peaceful and private.
everything was clean and we didn’t need to ask for anything extra .
it was nice to sit out in the early evening with a drink in the pretty garden.
( the cats are beautiful 😻 too )
the parking space is also a bonus. The bathroom/toilet is on the ground floor and I would prefer it nearer the bedroom but that’s a personal thing and it certainly wouldn’t stop us from returning.
- Sue (10/5): Thank you for a much needed time away from every day routines - The people that own it are very friendly and helpful
Breakfast and little extras like remote controlled blind and stairs that lit up as you walked up them 🙂 NA
- Allison (10/5): We would love to come back on our next stay, the cottage was more than we hoped for. - The cottage was lovely and comfortable and had parking on site. The host was very friendly. Nothing, we had a lovely experience
- Lisa (10/5): Fantastic cottage in the heart of Shepton Mallet within the grounds of Longbridge House. - fantastic little cottage in the gardens of longbridge house. perfect for a relaxing break in the heart of Shepton Mallet. cottage is equipped with everything needed for a self catering break. Gardens outside make for a great view and terrace is a bonus. Nice touches like night lights in property and also provision of milk, tea, coffee and biscuits. All good for us.
- William (10/5): Comfortable, warm and welcoming - The hosts are friendly, welcoming and genuinely want you to enjoy their beautiful home and garden
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hooper (10/5): Exceptional - Small compact cosy cottage, in the grounds of the guest house. Cottage very private and accessed by a secure gate. Lovely gardens, and sitting area.
Own parking spot. Nothing to dislike for us. However the stairs to the bedroom area were narrow and not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - A warm welcome and a Lovely Place, nice little touches like a umbrella and torch (much needed this time of year).
Highly recommend 😊
- Kerry (7/5): Good location with off road parking. - Self catering with good oven and microwave. Allocated parking spot on driveway. Would have liked a more powerful shower but the age and character of the property probably prevents this.
- Mike (10/5): We would highly recommend a visit to this cosy cottage. - Ideal scenic location for exploring the surrounding area - Wells & Glastonbury. Cottage was welcoming, clean & well equipped - comfy bed & cosy atmosphere.
- Stephen (9/5): The beautifully presented cottage was a perfect choice for my stay.Comfortable and welcoming, as were the hosts. - cosy, well appointed for my trip. All mod cons.
stylish conversion of a beautiful building nothing
- F (10/5): Exceptional -
- Petra (9/5): Perfect Cottage for a couple exploring the Mendip Hills area. - It was a quaint old cottage, extremely clean, the owners kindly provided a pint of milk, biscuits and tea, which was welcome after our journey. Perfect for a couple. Plus a parking spot off the street. The location on the street is a bit blind and some locals zip around there pretty fast, so have your wits about you when coming and going. You can walk to Shepton Mallet high street, but it’s a bit run down, numerous empty storefronts. But it’s a short drive to other pubs and Wells is close by.
- Rob (10/5): an Oasis - an absolutely lively oasis with a courtyard garden that is just idyllic. lovely stylish accommodation.
- Tiffany (9/5): Great stay, very relaxing - Great location for us as we were visiting family just along the road. Off road parking was a bonus.
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage, cute and cosy! Nothing
- Michele (10/5): Enchanting and Romantic cottage ! - Longbridge Cottage is a little jewel and our hosts were beyond lovely, with a wonderful warm welcome upon our arrival. Thank you for the coffee, tea, milk, sugar, chocolate biscuits and bottle of wine waiting for us in the cottage. So thoughtful!
The cottage and grounds were enchanting, full of character, like stepping back in time but with all our modern conveniences. The cottage itself was immaculate, thoroughly clean, sparkling and fresh.
A charming colourful little kitchen with all sorts of cutlery, mugs, plates, glasses etc.
A roomy sized bathroom with steamy hot shower, and once again, immaculately clean and hygienic. The towels were fluffy white, absorbant and they smelled amazing !
The bed upstairs was extremely comfortable with four dreamy soft pillows. The colours of the bedding and decor were soothing to the eye.
The gardens surrounding the cottage had many little places to sit, relax, and listen to the lovely birdsong. We watched the bees amongst the flower garden and visited with the owners' absolutely gorgeous cats, all with their own little unique kitty personalities.
We also enjoyed the most delicious breakfast! A full English that kept us going well into the afternoon, brought to us in the cutest wicker basket with coffee, juice, toast, butter and jam. A wonderful way to start our day.
Thank you so much, we had a brilliant time, very relaxed and comfortable. Already looking forward to booking with Longbridge Cottage again, next time we visit Somerset.
- Stephlap (10/5): very warm and welcoming, peaceful place to stay - lovely peaceful place to stay, lovely quiet surroundings, very friendly owners make you feel at home. very chilled weekend away. cottage has everything that you need for your short stay. milk and biscuits on arrival, tea coffee sugar provided. lovely hot shower. would defiantly stay again. everything there was nothing a dis liked
- Julia (8/5): Good for short break - comfortable, clean and convenient for visiting Wells, Glastonbury etc. - tea, milk and biscuits thoughtfully provided
clever conversion
quirky touches (eg giraffe toilet roll holder!)
exceptionally quiet in cottage - including no noise from 'machinery'/extractor fans/noisy fridges/dogs barking etc Spiral staircase
No view and rather dark inside
bathroom downstairs
Beams very low - at head height in bedroom
