Guest Reviews
- Martin (8/5): Good value and comfortable - Open kitchen, lounge and dining area. Main bedroom was very large with a large en-suite. Two upstairs bedrooms the velux windows didn’t open and didn’t have blinds
- Jerrel (8/5): Great value for price - Place was very spacious, had every facility we needed and it was very close to the town center so it wasn't far to travel anywhere at all. Host was very quick at responding and the instructions for check in/check out were very clear. For the price, the value is amazing! The key would sometimes get stuck in the door when unlocking/locking it.
- Craig (5/5): - Cooking pans and utilitys not good enough
- Dan (5/5): -
- Graham (10/5): - Nice rooms, clean and tidy. Everything you could want.
- Daniel (8/5): - Central to Douglas which has an exception public transport for all round the island The shower could have been more powerful.
- Julian (6/5): Pleasant - The location is easily accessible and within a short walk to the centre of town. The layout of the flat is nice. Open plan. It was cold when I arrived. Basic heating (portable oil radiator) which hadn't been on to warm the place. So I arrived and it was cold and smelt slightly damp.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- L (10/5): Exceptional - Central to town for eating and socialising Only having 1 set of keys was a bit tricky especially when your with a group.
- Alyson (6/5): Adequate (if they sort out the info sheets, and don’t claim a welcome pack when there is none) but over-priced compared - The property was very handy for all things in Douglas and the owners have made an effort to make it comfortable, given the limited space. The information cards weren’t there when I arrived and I couldn’t access the wifi or tv for several hours. There was supposed to be a welcome pack but there was nothing other than a few tea bags - no milk to have with them though!
There was a lack of crockery (eg no cereal bowls).
There is a large outdoor space, which would probably be nice in good weather, but people were allowed to smoke there (ashtrays were provided) and my apartment filled with the smell of cigarette smoke from other occupants smoking when I opened the windows.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Space was plentyful large rooms Considering the size of the bathrooms the shower cubicles were very small
- Mark (10/5): Fabulous accommodation throughout - A very spacious apartment - well maintained and excellent facilities. Quite an uphill climb from the sea front to the apartment which may be problematic for other families, although we enjoyed the exercise
- Fiona (8/5): Smart, bright studio apartment on a relatively quiet street yet still handy for the town centre. - I could tell that the studio apartment had been recently refurbished, it is bright, and thanks to the high ceiling feels airy and larger than it is. The layout, with separate sleeping, lounge, dining and kitchen areas spread the length of the long apartment also adds to the feeling of space.
The sofa is comfortable, the outside seating area an added bonus I was not expecting.
The kitchenette has a fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave, so perfect if you want cereal and toast breakfast or to heat a ready meal, If you plan to make cooked breakfasts or make evening meals from scratch you will need to go for the larger apartment.
If the apartment is available next time I travel to the Isle of Man I will probably book again. The entry hall and stairs felt narrow and dark, I only had a small back pack but felt I would have struggled with larger cases, and this may make the property less suitable for some one with limited mobility.
There was a problem with the hot water in the hand basin and kitchenette when I arrived, due to an electrician having let the owners down, however Amy is an approachable host, and we came to an amicable agreement to resolve this.
- Carolyn (7/5): Great place for exploring this lovely island - Nicely furnished, near the beach and restaurants Manx museum etc.
Amy was quick to respond to my queries. We were disappointed with no‘welcome pack’
Instructions for WiFi were incorrect. No milk bread wine left for us .. it was a late arrival and we informed them about this.
The bedding was cheap flimsy stuff no mattress protectors either!
Coffee beans left but no grinder. Wine glasses were red coloured glass ..not good .
Outside area not appealing at the price we expected a few touches .
- Niki (6/5): We wouldn't stay again, the owner had clearly tried but fallen short on a few things. - Walking distance into town and all amenities The entrance was unappealing, poor quality door, the handle was missing and when we entered all the cleaning items, travel cot were at the bottom of the stairs which is not a great first impression. There was a lot of stairs and not easy with a heavy suitcase, definitely something that should be noted on the page incase someone is unable to manage more that a few steps. The main bedroom has a HUGE en-suite with a tiny shower squashed into the corner (wouldn't be suitable for a larger built person) and really poor pressure so having a shower wasn't great. The window opened so wide it was hard to reach it to close. We were 5 but there was only one set of keys which meant when a couple stayed out, we had to take the keys from safe go upstairs to the top floor to open the flat, come back down and put them into the key safe.
- Tony (10/5): Excellent - Furnished to a very high standard , close to everything, owners are super friendly and helpful, will be back next year💯 Nothing could have been better
- Richard (9/5): wished we could have stayed longer - slight mix up on arrival but Amy sorted it for us within minutes despite it being after 8pm on a friday night. Clean and spacious accommodation, kitchen had everything in it we needed including tea and coffee which was a nice suprise. i can't say there was anything bad to say.
