Guest Reviews
- Charlotte (8/5): Nice and great location - Good spacious Noise from neighbours
- Neal (7/5): Great location and near enough to town - The location of the flat was super, it has every facility that we required for this short stay and we will definitely consider this property for any future visits to the area. No real issues at all, perhaps the parking it was very tight(space 4) with other cars not being well parked so opted to park on the road which was fine but this option would not be available after 15 May.
- Saira (10/5): Very comfortable and relaxing. Nicely decorated apartment. - Very clean and comfortable, with everything there that we could need. We really appreciated the nice touches of the biscuits, tea and coffee, cereals, etc. very comfortable bed. Great to have a parking space. Information about access, parking, etc was all made very clear in advance of the visit. Hosts were very responsive to any messages sent during our stay. The Bath was a little bit on the high side for stepping in/out.
- Alexandra (10/5): Amazing! - Very clean apartment, very comfortable bed, free parking, short walk to the sea front N/A
- Maureen (10/5): Lovely stay - Centrally located short walk to beach
- Paul (10/5): Spacious, clean, easy parking and convenient to beach, village and routes to nearby sites. - The apartment is spacious, clean, well-equipped and very convenient to the beach, the village and driving to various sites nearby. The washer/dryer was a big plus, and the parking space is a bonus and a timesaver since you don’t need to find street parking or pay for a parking lot. The exterior of the property looks a little rundown and there was a strong smell of bleach when I fist entered the apartment, but it dissipated by second day. Also, the lighting in the bathroom mirror is not bright enough.
- Malcolm (9/5): -
- Nephie (10/5): -
- Caroline (10/5): - Great location..everything you need in apartment comfortable bed. Very quiet at night. Everything good.
- Kevin (8/5): Nice apartment in a good location - just beware inconsiderate neighbours. - Clean, well located, good communication with owners. Noise from upstairs (at 2 in the morning), inconsiderate parking by whoever uses the adjoining parking space (which made an already very small space even smaller).
- Sharon (9/5): -
- FABIENNE (9/5): Très bien - Confortable, équipements, emplacement La douche
- Angela (8/5): - Great Location very close to beach. Walking distance to town centre. Comfortable clean well equipped apartment Nothing
- Caroline (10/5): Fab stay - High ceilings & great decor & appliances
Plenty of space for the two of us The car space was very tight as the neighbouring car had parked tight to the white line
- Nic (10/5): -
- Ian (8/5): Weather was crap but still really enjoyed our break. - Heating was good and already on before we arrived. Apartment and Bedding was clean, lovely selection of Breakfast items available to us upon arrival. Great location.
- Alex (8/5): -
- emma (10/5): - Location. Very comfortable. Parking.
- Sally (9/5): Great place to stay - The property had a luxury feel, with comfortable bedding and plush towels. 2 mins from the beach and 5 mins to the town. The shower head could do with replacing
- Christine (9/5): Perfect for a short stay but I don’t think I could book again - Beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed, every utensil you could need and lovely chocolate biscuits. Fantastic position very near the sea. I couldn’t get into the bath as it is far too high. I’m only 5ft 2 and haven’t got full use of my knee bend following a knee replacement 19 months ago!
Also the person in the flat above kept us awake from 2 am!!
Bit of a problem with the toilet system not filling up on occasions
- alex (10/5): Fantastic place - Had everything u wanted and felt very homely amazing location
- Karen (8/5): Karen - It was a comfortable apartment close to all amenities.
It was clean and nicely appointed with all needed for our stay . There were just a couple of issues .
The mixer tap was loose, and the toilet cistern needs some attention as it does not always fill up .
These things did not ruin our stay .
- Barbara (8/5): - Lovely spacious apartment, nice furnishings and comfy bed. Useful parking space and very close to sea and town centre. A few plumbing issues which can easily be resolved and bath is set slightly high up, making it harder to get to over bath shower.
- Mark (9/5): - Fantastic apartment and very modern. Comfy bed. Well decorated and very spacious. Definitely would book again. We arrived early so came to look at the building from the outside but the hosts moaned at us for parking there despite us trying to explain we were booked in that evening. They seemed very rude.
The kitchen sink has a severely damaged tap and is dangerous especially with hot water. The sofa and chairs in the living room were not comfy which seems a waste when putting so much effort into the apartment.
It does warn about the bath to be fair but it was still higher than I expected. I have a muscle disorder and tried to get in the bath but ended up cutting my toe on the glass shower panel. Its very dangerous.
Despite my negative comments it is an incredible apartment which I scored high and would stay again.
- Alexandra (6/5): Too many minus points to consider recommending to others - Nice large and well equipped apartment in good location needing a bit of TLC. The allocated parking space is very, very tight. We are slim and found it awkward to open the car doors after parking.
Only there for one night and we had to speak to the owner twice. First occasion was when we received a message on the Booking.com app with a link to another separate website suggesting we still needed to pay for the room. The owner said this was a technical hitch but didn't seem too concerned despite a message on the app saying do not click on any suspicious links!
Second occasion was when the toilet cistern failed to fill in the morning. The owner said he couldn't attend until 11.00am and asked us to fix the problem with the float mechanism ourselves. It sounded like this wasn't the first time this had happened.
The kitchen tap is extremely loose and felt like it could come away very easily. Both this and the toilet would take a plumber under an hour to fix permanently.
- Nick (9/5): Lovely stay. - Cereal for breakfast was nice but fresh milk would be great too. Location. Price. Cosy bed. Clean space. Noise from upstairs apartment, footsteps.
- Tracy (8/5): End of summer get away - The location was perfect close to most things. The bed was really comfortable. The bath was too high which made it a struggle to get into. It also needs a few small jobs doing to it to bring it back up together. When we first arrived we couldn’t access the property as the main entrance key was broken and the tap in the kitchen needed fixing.
- Sharon (10/5): - Apartment was very well equipped and a fantastic location. We loved it so much we have booked again for next year 😍 Nothing not to like.
- Lucy (9/5): The Gables - Lovely apartment - very clean & had all we needed. Loved extra touches- biscuits & cereals provided.
Perfect location for Swanage & area. Only a short walk to beach & town. Only 1 suggestion - maybe a couple of hooks in bathroom for towels.
- Florence (10/5): -
- James (10/5): -
- Ross (10/5): - Lovely tidy clean flat in a great location.
- Jo (10/5): Highly recommend this accomodation - Wonderful accommodation. Very clean and comfy. All mod-cons.
- Susan (8/5): Definitely return at some point, could you please arrange the same weather 😎 - Location and convenience The height of the bath
- Prangnell (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (7/5): Comfortable and good location with parking. An enjoyable week helped by excellent weather. - Bath/shower design awkward and unsuitable for the less agile.
- Lees (10/5): we really enjoyed it. - very clean and good location and parking .
the flat is brilliant . bath was to high set on a plinth high 4"
some say parking for no4 is tight but if you reverse towards the back door it is a lot easier
on instruction for electric oven we are used to gas
- Besten (7/5): Awesome time thank you - Location was excellent. All one could ask for. Parking was not so good especially when whoever parked at no 3 didn’t leave room to get in the parking space
The lovely little old lady next door moved her car and let us have her parking space even though it was late
Only thing I can really say that was not good and this wasn’t down to the owners
- Sonia (6/5): Pleasant - Perfect location. Off road parking (tho it was a bit of a squeeze). The king-size bed was good. The welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, jams, cereals & biscuits was a nice touch, tho the picture in the on-line description did show a bottle of wine with 2 glasses... The lack of actual location was a bit vague. It did take a bit of finding. The property could have done with a deep clean, as behind the doors showed dust & fluff. There was a fair bit of mould in the bathroom. Walking barefoot picked up on a lot of stuff that should have vacuumed or mopped. The kitchen window sill where we we went to pull the blind was very mouldy & dirty. Being advised about the bath after booking was a bit disappointing, as it could have posed problems. Luckily, we coped! The heavy winter weight duvet wasn't conducive to a good night's sleep~a lighter, summer weight would have been better. For what we paid, we expected a bit more.
- David (9/5): This is a very nice apartment. -
- David (9/5): Well appointed and well situated apartment. - Well situated for all the attractions in Swanage, well equipped and spacious. Nothing, although the fact that the apartment was situated within a building called The Gables should have been included in the instructions for checking in.
- Cliff (9/5): Great location, well equipped value for money. - Location was great, very well equipped throughout the flat,
On site parking.
Comfortable bed, nicely furnished. Smell of damp, noisy neighbours above.
- John (8/5): A lovely flat in an excellent location., though the bathroom is only suitable for the able-bodied. - For someone who is even moderately restricted in mobility, the bath/shower is extremely difficult to access, as it is so high off the floor.
The allotted parking space is tricky to access (though parking on the road outside is free and unrestricted before May 15th).
- Tina (9/5): Perfect little hideaway for a short break - Location ideal a short 2 minute walk and your on the beach, parking an added bonus. quick communication from host. All good
- Mitchell (10/5): Excellent accommodation and location. - Fantastic accommodation. Beautiful furnishings.
Comfy bed. Great looking location
- S.z (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (10/5): Ideal for a couple visiting Swanage……. - Great location, 5 mins walk to town, transport and seafront. Easy entry on arrival with good instructions received. Clean, comfortable and great facilities, well equipped kitchen, tea, coffee and biscuits! Nothing
- Rob (9/5): Superb - bath was a bit high, making it tricky to get in and out of.
- Paul (8/5): Good location but some issues with noise - Amberlea apartment is in a large house, it has everything you need for your stay, including tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, cereal and jams. It's in a good location for the town and beach with some good walks along the coast. As mentioned in other reviews the bath/shower is very high, as it's raised off the floor and is not that easy to get into and out of especially if you have any mobility issues.
Being on the ground floor there is some noise from the apartment above especially on two of the nights we were awakened in the early hours of the morning by movement and loud talking in the flat above.
- Robert (9/5): Absolutely perfect - Spotlessly clean lovely and big flat
Perfect location Nothing
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, comfortable and clean.
- Samantha (8/5): Very good - Amazing location, apartment was very clean and tidy. Unfortunately the residents upstairs was making noise all night they eventually stopped at 6am. Walking around constantly, what appears to be moving furniture and shouting. So we did not get any sleep due to this which was disappointing as had no motivation to enjoy the following day.
- Jen (9/5): Very nice! - Great location, lovely apartment. Very cosy and well furnished. The neighbours upstairs were quite noisy but that’s no reflection on the property
- Jeanette (10/5): Brilliant stay in a fantastic location - Great location, lovely apartment- fully equipped with unexpected extras and a Christmas tree! Nothing
- Susan (9/5): Very nice seaside themed apartment short walk to sea/town.. excellently equipped - Excellent good quality kitchen appliances good on site parking
Comfy bed /bedding
Nice decore with seaside theme
Nice to have all tv channels not just free view in living room TV
All cleaning products available / cereals/ biscuits /tea / coffee /jam
Liked the motion sensor light plugs in bedroom & living room
So close to seaside within easy walking
On ground floor..no carrying bags up any stairs Unfortunately but no fault of holiday let....flat above this ones bath water pipes (boxed in) run down within bedroom ...and they chose to empty bath about 11.30 to midnight...and walked around during night so could hear footsteps in night...
Also can't be helped but bath very tall so unless ur able bodied it's deep if one sits in bath to get up from...and shower head fixed higher on wall..
Nice to have had tv in bedroom also, but couldn't tune it to work..partner thought it needed an ariel...no matter tho used tv in living room but would've been nice to have watched tv relaxed in bed...
Not sure why but heating didn't work till last evening🤷♀️..but there was an excellent little portable radiator to plug in...and water not very hot in kitchen but was acceptable in shower ...🤷♀️😳
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Lots of extra little treats. Great location. Comfy, warm and good quality furnishings and white goods. Allocated parking was a bonus too !
- Tony (9/5): Comfortable, spacious and good location. - Clean, spacious, modern feel in older building. Generous welcome pack.
Great location, a stroll into town or beach. Very little. No extractor in bathroom so condensation in cold weather.
Allocated parking space is next to wall so passengers may have to get out before you park.(unless your driving a Fiat 500 or similar!)
- Alan (9/5): Very nice apartment, ideal for all that Swanage has to offer. - The apartment is ideal for a stay in Swanage. It is handy for the beach, the town and the railway and bus station. The apartment is very well fitted out. The rear door to the building is very hard to unlock. The lock could do with some wd40. The bathroom door creaks, which could also do with some wd40. The bathroom is quite small. The bath takes up too much space and is raised high and difficult to get in. The TV in the bedroom is broadband only, and we did not use it.
- Andrew (8/5): Very nice...but not for seniors. - Location was perfect. High standard of furbishment. Big apartment. Hard to understand how the bathroom was approved. Half taken up with a deep bath. You have to swing out of this. Unsuitable for seniors. Some cupboards were to high, i couldnt reach at 5'9".
The TV would not work in the bedroom.
The doors and locks front and back need replacing as both worn.
- Joy (8/5): Excellent location. - Excellent location few minutes walk to town, beach and coast path. Spacious, well equipped apartment. Bath was very high and difficult to get in and out of.
- Christine (9/5): A lovely apartment in a great location. - A spacious, well equipped apartment very close to the beach and town centre. The kettle sometimes didn't operate properly. I couldn't get the bedroom TV to work, no channels found.
- David (7/5): Ok for the length of stay - Location The bathroom. The shower was over the bath but the bath was very high to step into. We managed as both able bodied but older people or anyone with a disability would not manage getting into the bath.
- Theingi (9/5): Superb - Excellent location, clean & comfortable, fully equipped kitchen
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable. Had everything that I needed. Very close to the beach.
Had a nice welcome pack.
The owner was very helpful.
- Mark (7/5): Good -
- Harrison (9/5): Most enjoyable - Was very well appointed, only stayed the night but it’s the sort of place we would stay for a weeks holiday… and maybe we will! The parking in an suv was tight…yes a petty answer I know but otherwise I wouldn’t have anything for this section…
- Shirley (10/5): Will definitely come back next year - Beautiful apartment located right near the sea. I was attending an event which was only ten minutes away. The place it is located is wonderful with Corfu Castle I
- Julie (10/5): Very enjoyable, Swanage is lovely , great for families. - Walking distance to the beach, great location. Apartment had everything you would need in there .
Excellent! N/A
- Jean (10/5): Beautiful apartment - Spacious apartment with lovely furnishings. Very comfortable bed. Allocated parking space. Would highly recommend this apartment. Great location. The water was very slow to go down the plughole in the bath. I found it clogged with hair. The owners probably not aware that happens so need to to check it.
- Colin (9/5): Superb accommodation and location. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would certainly recommend - Had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great location to explore beautiful Dorset Car parking space is very tight but that’s the only negative
- Stephen (8/5): Pleasant and enjoyable stay in great location. - Superb location close to seafront and Swanage town centre. Very clean and very well equipped with quality appliances in the kitchen and smart TVs. Lounge area and bedroom excellent. Everything we needed was supplied. The side of the bath is very high and we found it difficult to get in and out. There was no shelving or hooks in the bathroom. Provision of these would have been very helpful. On-site parking in allocated space is tricky if car park is full.
- Robin (9/5): Superbly appointed and located apartment, very quiet and with private off road parking. - Very spacious, very well appointed, very comfortable and a superb location. The provisions made available to us on arrival were very welcome. Very very quiet and with the added bonus of a private off road parking space. Excellent. The bathroom was a bit tight compared with the other spaces, but it worked ok for us.
- Antony (9/5): Very enjoyable stay, plenty of scenic walks, places to eat and we were lucky with the weather. - The location was superb , access to all that Swanage has to offer yet quiet enough for a good night's sleep. Could not fault anything.
- Cieran (9/5): Lovely! -
- Marie (8/5): Very good - Liked the light and spacious apartment which was close to the beach and town. Height of bath made it difficult to get access to the shower.
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional -
