Guest Reviews
- Hazel (8/5): Great for a family holiday of 3 generations - Quiet, lovely garden Few things could have been cleaner
- Simon (6/5): If this property was invested in it has huge potential, but wouldn't return as is. - Location fantastic, quiet, peaceful, incredible views from top of terraced garden. Very attractive upstairs double bedrooms, with balcony. Main bathroom of good standard. Living room very old, characterful features - fire place, beams, floors. We had fantastic weather first few days so the ability to sit outside as a large group was brilliant, lower part of garden very pleasant to sit in. Double mattresses long overdue replacement so very poor sleep - you can feel the dip in the bed where (many) people have laid, and feel every spring, slept on the sofa one night to see if it was any better but too short. Twin room mattresses quite stained (noticed when we stripped as instructed) and again long overdue replacing in terms of comfort but mattered less as children sleeping there. Downstairs two bedrooms extremely dark and as shower leaked down there too (in what is more like a utility room than bathroom) it smelt damp the whole time. Was dusty and cobwebby through out. Small, narrow, galley kitchen was hard to cater for the number of people the house accommodates. Upstairs electric shower also leaked/ dripped continuously and there was noticeable black mould along all sealant lines. Window catches in downstairs living rooms broken. Variable height steps that are not well marked, on stone or slate floors mean that it is best suited to older children and not elderly or immobile relatives. We had to put some children's' stickers along the step to the rear bedrooms as two adults and a child missed it due to dark floor, dark corridor, new/unfamiliar property. Gardens would have been incredible when fully maintained, but very steep terraces now overgrown, several sections of falling down path and walls, risky for young children, but great for hide and seek for older children, and if you can make it to the top terrace the views are spectacular.
