Guest Reviews
- Carole (1/5): - The bed Every thing else
- Bilton (10/5): Beautiful peaceful spot - A beautiful peaceful spot. Very clean and great facilities. Loved it all - I would say it is not accessible for anyone with physical limitations, as there is a step hill in and out of the site. I'm a career sports person and I had to stop for breath 😂
- Naomi (10/5): Beautiful rustic, well equipped gem of a place to stay. Loved it .. - What a gem of a place! Beautiful surroundings..Lots of handy little touches..ie coat hangers, marshmallows, light, extra blankets, tea and coffee...We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.. It's tough going pushing the wheelbarrow back up the hill..
- Emma (10/5): Are stay was lovely. The glam pod was beautiful and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet next to the lake - It was clean and cozy.
- Wendi (10/5): - Had an amazing time with my little daughters owners very kind and accommodating. Will be back The rain
- Stuart (10/5): Back to nature really enjoyed our stay, highly recommend. - Lovely rural location
- Lupin (7/5): - Each tent has a great covered deck space outside. Lovely to potter outside in bare feet or slippers to make a brew and enjoy the morning air. Being right next to the pathway to the toilet. Convenient for me but too close when other campers were running to and from it shouting. Felt like they were in the tent!
- Anthony (1/5): Save your money and go elsewhere! Not worth the stress or damaging your car! - The location was STUNNING, tranquil and quiet… sadly that was where the positives ended for us!
On appearances online… it looked perfect… sadly that’s far from what it was! Location of tents was diabolical! Too steep of a drop for car to access the bottom of the park to where our tents were (we were told hilly but bloody hell!)
Car park1 wasn’t even accessible for ANY vehicle unless you’ve got a 4x4 with plenty of clearance… and even the you’d have to be careful! Sheer thoughtlessness’s! Fix the car park!
We later found out that multiple vehicles including an ambulance have got stuck here, at the bottom AND in car park1.
Owner is rude and didn’t even approach us…
Bedding was wet/damp & stank!
Soooo many bugs in the tent where the bottom zip and been left undone.
Water canister had been left with the lid off & had bugs in it.
Cool box… full of bugs both dead & alive.
BBQ hadn’t been cleaned out since the last guests & had remains of last summers dinner & coals.
Toilets dirty and run down… there are only 2 on the whole site!
Shower- disgusting and unsanitary… there is only 1 for the whole site!
We actually arrived, unpacked… saw what we were expected to sleep in and packed back up! One of the lovely residents loaned us a 4x4 to get all our stuff back up!
We then had to double down on booking somewhere else at 6pm for the night!
This was supposed to be a tranquil get away for our anniversary! Instead it was an unsanitary nightmare!
As bikers… were used to camping/glamping. To arrive in a car and have this kind of nightmare is one thing, had we arrived on our bikes… this would have been total chaos on scale!
Had no signal on site to contact owner and hadn’t realised he’d walked straight past us twice, didn’t say a word despite watching us pack up & leave! He had plenty of opportunity to speak to us… we had no idea he was the owner and due to no signal we weren’t able to call!
Definitely wouldn’t be back and would say “book with caution” for this new wedding venue idea they’re advertising too! Stay clear in my opinion! Pay the extra and go else where!
- Cooper (10/5): - Everything. It was perfect.
- Kelly (8/5): - Peaceful location. Good facilities N/a
- Wear (9/5): - The facilities were brilliant and well stocked. Staff were helpful and friendly. Lovely site and location Track access up and down to the site was much more challenging than expected - even in good weather.
- Sonata (10/5): - I am very shy person! I wasn't sure about this trip as I never done it before. OMG it's the best experience in my life and my family. If you want an amazing views, peace and quiet, fresh air, sound of the stream please come here. It was just perfect. I simply can't fault it. You have all you need. The owners so so helpful so so kind even I asked milion silly questions before. The view is to die for...you can go inside the forest it's amazing....not far from it loads of beaches. So if you ever not sure just do it. It's much much better then camping.!!!
- Hector (6/5): Nice location, good value - Great woodland location. Good value for money Nothing worth complaining about
- Wayne (1/5): Only worth £10 - The bed was weak and headboard hard not totally clean The toilets stink of pee x this was suppose to be our honeymoon which was awful
- Kate (9/5): -
- Nicholas (10/5): -
- Paul (10/5): - Excellent Brilliant place
- A f. (5/5): - Bedden waren fijn
in de natuur heerlijk geen personeel bij incheck
steile hellingen ook naar de tent maakt het niet prettig
- Ansell (8/5): -
- Su (8/5): -
- rosa (10/5): - v. thoughtful belltent with all the neccessities provided inclusive in the price.
nice comfy beds
peaceful quiet area nothing. loved everything.
- adam (8/5): Bliss - Quiet secluded and peaceful Fire pit in wet boggy conditions
- Nathan (9/5): Fantastic little break - Although there were other tents around, they were all spaced out so you had plenty of privacy.
Porcha was very well situated with the tent opening out very privately towards the little stream. That I only booked for 2 nights.
- Yasmin (10/5): Our stay here was absolutely beautiful. Lovely staff, lovely location, fully stocked kitchen, gorgeous surrounding area - Our stay here was absolutely beautiful. Lovely staff, lovely location, fully stocked kitchen, gorgeous surrounding area and very clean facilities. Everything we needed was provided even from small lovely finishing touches like marshmallows and gas cans for the stove. Nothing - everything was great. I will say you’re better off staying here with a car, we came on foot and managed to get around by walking and cabs but car is definitely more convenient!
- Dębicki (9/5): -
- Angela (10/5): -
- Slawomir (10/5): -
- Phil (7/5): Steep camping - We liked the covered platform next to tent with table and chairs and camping cooker
Quite liked the shower in the end Kitchen full of junk like a 2nd hand charity shop. But it had cooking facilities and fridge No lights
Hill was very steep
Had to portage gear in wheelbarrows (supplied)
The bbq hadn’t been emptied. Didn’t use it
- Joanna (10/5): - Absolutely everything
- Edward (10/5): - Setting and surrounding area outstanding tent was good facilities were ok N/a
- Emily (10/5): -
- Luke (10/5): - Perfectly beautiful location, very clean and welcoming Nothing. Perfect distance from everything
- Amanda (10/5): - You had everything that you needed the beds are comfortable and you was able to contact the owners if you needed anything. The steep hill upto the toilets would be nice to have something at the bottom for people who struggle to get upto the toilets and showers
- Sophie (10/5): Perfect - secluded and the dogs loved it. - Beautiful secluded campsite, I visited with my dogs & we enjoyed. We slept well and enjoyed the sound of running water from the lake by us too! We liked everything.
- Ting Yin (10/5): - This place is truly a sanctuary. My tent was set in just the right spot, with the gentle embrace of natural white noise for two nights, and I slept more soundly than I have in a long time. The surroundings are calm, peaceful, and deeply comforting — the kind of quiet that allows you to truly rest.
The neighbours were wonderfully kind. We could share light conversations with ease, while also respecting each other’s space, creating the perfect balance between connection and solitude.
The location is also excellent for exploring — there are lovely trails for hiking nearby, and it’s easy to reach the coast either by car or on foot. The shared facilities, including the showers and kitchen, were kept in excellent condition: clean, practical, and very convenient.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the host and the staff. They showed genuine gender inclusivity, and when I experienced an unexpected situation, they responded immediately with such care and respect. It made me feel truly looked after.
This stay has been both healing and restorative. I’ve already recommended it to my friends, so they too can come here to rest, recharge, and find peace.
- martin (8/5): lovely place 👍 -
- Blanka (10/5): Exceptional - Relaxing place , nice natural and very comfy tent
- Thomas (10/5): Luxury outside living! - Was exceptionally! Beside the creek had water flowing all day was just amazing! The fire pit and BBQ was just fabulous! Nothing! If anything the hill haha!
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sharon (10/5): Perfect - Location, view, walks.
- Zannah (10/5): Exceptional stay - This place was amazing value for money. Everyone who stayed and were coming and going in the other tents were so nice. It was easy to find and the hosts made sure that they gave clear instructions. Location was fantastic and the facilities were close and clean. Would absolutely recommend and stay again!
- Kristinamarys (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (9/5): Superb - We loved the location...so pretty. The glamping tents were well equipped.
We also liked the sustainable focus of the site, with waste segregation and reuse of natural materials.
- Mellissa (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. Great facilities, excellent prices, fantastic views and being outdoors with our nature, beautiful beaches nearby. Loads to do. Just tranquil.
Huge recommendation.
Felt like I could breathe again. N/A
- Lucia (10/5): Exceptional - The setting is stunning. We had a very relaxing stay. Positioning and distance between tents well thought through to allow for privacy. Loved the fire pit! The walk between parking 1 and our tent. Although it was necessary to allow for the wilder setting. Wheelbarrows were very helpful.
- Cheryl (8/5): Lovely, tranquil - A lovely place with everything you need. You ve just got to be careful on the slopes. Trying to get out up the gravel hill. But it is doable.
- Asa (8/5): Wonderful camping and great location - The tents were spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen equipment was great and everywhere was lovely and clean.
What staff i had contact with were polite. I think the bank to the toilet was a little steep, and it wouldn't take much to level a walkway. Also, a map of where the tents and amenities are would be really useful.
The only other thing I would say is, I personally don't think it is glamping, I would expect electricity when glamping. That being said, we had an amazing few days away. Hopefully, we will be back again soon.
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional - It's a beautiful location. There is the trickling of water in the lake, the calls of birds, and rustle of the surrounding woodland. The tent is immaculate, and full of nice touches to make it special. Everything is provided - BBQ, Fire Pit for each pitch, bedding, table and chairs, gas stove. Wood available for purchase. Clean showers and toilets, washing up areas with sockets for recharging devices
It is quite literally perfect. . Nothing.
- Julie (9/5): Really lovely except for the rain - Superb location, really beautiful Not a dislike but the site is at the bottom of a steep valley. You can’t imagine until you see!
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location
- Natasha (10/5): The host was extremely helpful with our last minute booking and we had a wonderful, comfortable and exciting first glamp - The beds were comfortable, the tent was spacious and the facilities were clean and easily accessible. Naturally Glamping made our stay enjoyable and easy with 3 children and a dog. There was nothing to dislike about our stay at naturally glamping.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect get away, stayed on site whole time, walk into the forest, heaven. Camp fire every night, cosy. Now down to the thing that might worry some, the hill down to camp, we have a small 1.4 engine car that took the hill with now problems what so ever, to the point that it was not a problem at all. All in all the perfect few days away to really relax! Going home
- Nikola (7/5): Good - Really quiet and relaxing Not much to do unless you can drive so will definitely make sure to bring more entertainment stuff and also the kitchen is quite hidden and we didn’t find it until our last day, a sign pointing towards the kitchen would be very handy! And if the staff that is there through out the day could show you around that also would have been helpful!
- Daniel (6/5): Pleasant -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Doug (9/5): Superb -
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Harper (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maddie (9/5): Beautiful, peaceful and well put together site - Beautiful valley with a lake. Tents are well spaced out giving privacy and plenty of space. Loved all the thought that had gone into it all - including marshmallows and toasting sticks in the tent. We really had everything we needed! Fire pits, bbq, gas stove- all made it easy to camp comfortably. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, but not awful either. It is a bit of an uphill trek to the car parking - was fine for us but if bringing small kids, or someone less mobile it might be tricky.
- Tracey (9/5): Tranquil Gettaway - Each tent faced different direction for privacy. Plenty of space. Pack of cards and marshmallows were a nice touch’ Could benefit from a little more signage / map. Did not find the kitchen until day 2.
- Hayley (10/5): Romantic, relaxing and utterly beautiful, a must stay! - If you want a break in a stunning location, thats quiet, relaxing, has beautiful breathtaking scenery, geared towards couples and families only so no loud or rowdy groups, and even dog friendly, then look no further! Each large Bell tent is spacious and far enough apart from each other for privacy, but not remote so you don't feel alone. With your own BBQ, fire pit, table and chairs and even little details like bunting and fairy lights on each one, it feels like a break in nature without roughing it! Our bed wasn't the most comfortable, but that's a personal preference!
- Hanah (9/5): Superb - We really enjoyed the little touch of tea, coffee and marshmallows. The bed was conformable, the pitch was perfect for us as a couple. We didn't use the showers as only stayed for one night, but the toilets were very clean.
- Nicola (10/5): Devon is heaven! - What a little gem! Peaceful, beautiful and relaxing! Nothing
- Chelle3005 (10/5): Sheer bliss - Natural wonders to avoid the rat race of life Everything you could need. There was nothing not to like
- Morton (10/5): Spot on place to stay - Everything, it was the dogs nuts,! There was not anything I did not like,
- R (10/5): An easy camping experience. Just magical! - A magical place to retreat from the world, and yet an easy drive to supermarket, estuary, little towns. So lovely to wake up to an orchestra of birds. Tents near the river, woods, pond, nicely landscaped. Loved that we just need to turn up as everything has been thought through. Own fire pit and barbeque as well as camping stove with gas canisters, hot water bottles and extra duvet. Spotlessly clean. Can't add much more to other comments - all true, we loved it. We were with ducklings, owls, saw a rabbit and a heron. Bobak is a tremendous caretaker and Nick & Leilah have done all they can to create a special place. Come! Yes the steep track is not for the faint-hearted but we made it every day. What could be improved? More toilets for the busy periods perhaps.
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mihai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janice (10/5): Blissful retreat - Amazing location - peaceful with tents placed for privacy and views down towards forest and stream. Personal fireplace and deck. Lovely shower and spotless toilet area.
- Elliot (10/5): Exceptional - Such a great set up. Literally thought of everything, loved the hot water bottles
- Megan (9/5): Superb -
- Lucie (9/5): Relaxing family time in lovely bell tents - We had such an amazing time here with our 3 year old. We stayed in Zippy and had an amazing view across the pond. The tents are cosy and well equipped, with a nice little welcome basket including marshmallows - which went down well with our daughter. She also loved the fairy lights and bunting around the covered seating area, which were a lovely added touch.
The toilets and showers are clean and fairly easily accessible. There is a washing up area and lovely, neat communal kitchen as well. We didn't need to use this much though as they provided a cool box in each tent, a small gas stove, and bbq area.
The camping area is surrounded by tall trees and feels completely separate from the rest of the world, in the best way. It's amazingly relaxing. Laying in the tent first thing and listening to all the birds was amazing.
We had car trouble whilst out, and the owners were very helpful and let us leave the car at the top of the hill so it could be collected.
There are shepherd's huts near the top that would be a nice alternative for anyone who couldn't handle the walk down to the bell tents.
We will definitely be booking again - we had such a relaxing time. The only thing to keep in mind with the location is that the bell tents are at the bottom of a steep track. Getting down there without a 4x4 would be a challenge, and getting up and down from the top carpark with kit may not be doable for everyone. This is well advertised though when you book and there are really clear parking instructions provided with your booking details. There are also shepherd's huts closer to the top of the hill which also looked lovely.
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Sasvalentine (3/5): Go in the Summer not in April - The owners were lovely and communication was great. Its in a lovely location but close to the highway so you can hear the traffic.
Its cosy and clean and on a sunny day is lovely. I stayed in April, and as expected, it was cold and pretty basic — the bedding felt a bit old too. It’s cheap and cheerful, though — you get what you pay for.
When they say the hill is steep, they *really* mean it! Take care when driving, and unless you’ve got loads of confidence (or a seriously good car), I’d recommend parking at the top of the hill.
- Darryl (10/5): Exceptional - location was amazing, would be fantastic in the hotter months. We liked having a fully fitted kitchen available for bad weather conditions. would recommend to anybody who wants to get away from it all with still some luxury. my only issue was the access road, it needs improving.
- Katie (9/5): Superb -
- Sahriskinah (8/5): Very good - The beautiful surroundings, amazing people who went that extra mile, comfortable bed, very well equipped kitchen and hot shower 😊
- Amy (9/5): The best balance between nature and comfort - Beautiful site for a private and comfortable stay - the owners have thought of everything! Comfy beds (although recommemd extra layers for night) and the new kitchen area was well stocked making camping life much easier! We loved the natural feel of the site and outlook. The path down was not for the faint hearted but we were warned in advance and used the wheelbarrows provided to help with luggage (and it was worth the climb). Around the toilet/shower area was a little smelly.
- Martin (3/5): So disappointed that we left a day early. - Campsite was ok The site had 2 toilets and 2 basic showers. Not the cleanest either. This is not glamping. This is basic camping.
Having camped in quite a few country’s and rented motorhomes on paid sites as well. Never really had much problems with the general standard of basic site amenities. We have glamped before and this was nothing like any of those Occasions. So basic.
- Baz (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
You have to give it a try for yourselves
I loved it
Will definitely book again when I get time off
One of my favourite places now .
Cooked our own meals
Never enjoyed cooking so much.
- Rhi (10/5): Amazing stay, highly recommend even in wet weather! - We really enjoyed getting into nature at this beautiful glamping site. We certainly weren't going to let a soggy September put us off, and can confirm that even in the rain this is a great place to stay! We really enjoyed overlooking the idyllic pond, and being so close to the woods and nearby walks. Our dog had a great time walking to a local pub with us, and we enjoyed splashing about in the stream. Be sure to bring your wellies! The bell tent itself was clean and well equipped, as well as the communal kitchen which was not too far to walk from the tent. We enjoyed relaxing on the decking with a couple of beers, the awning kept us nice and dry so even in the wet weather we were able to soak up the great outdoors. Logs are provided for a small fee, and the way the tents are set out made it feel nice and private. The shower was lovely and hot, you just have to wait a moment for it to heat up, and there's plenty of space to get changed. The staff were very helpful with providing directions using public transport, however we decided to taxi to and from Newton Abbot in the end as it was easier with the dog, either way though it is easily accessible. Nothing! Amazing stay, thank you!
- Kristyls33 (10/5): Best holiday location - It was absolutely beautiful, we had the most amazing time, it was one of our best holidays. Location was perfect, toilet and kitchen was clean. They thought of everything! Loved the extra touches like hot water bottles and marshmallows, my kids thought they were in heaven! Thank you so much, we will be back and have already been recommending your site to everyone we know! Thank you! Bobak too was so helpful and a great member of the team! That we couldn't stay longer! Wouldn't change a thing!
- Rachel (9/5): Relaxing and beautiful setting. Comfortable. We will be back next year. - So comfortable. Bed was soft and warm. Outside space well thought out and the new fitted kitchen (shared) with cooker and fridge freezer - whilst we did not use it - was excellent and a wonderful addition to the site. Toilets were clean and showers hot. Beautiful secluded and quiet site. Easy walk to the Royal Oak pub in neighbouring village - pub food highly recommended their excellent pub. The loose gravel steep path down to the site is tricky but this is warned about before you book.
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful and Peaceful. Had everything we needed! Comfy beds! Wasnt a dislike but hoping could be improved. One of the showers, the best shower in my opinion (near to the kitchen area) randomly lost heat, but after a short time it would reheat...if this could have constant heat it would be excellent.
- Kerri (10/5): Exceptional - The bed was very comfortable, there was complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate and the scenery was stunning
We had a lovely time Everything was great
- Rush (8/5): Picturesque, cosy and comfortable - a perfect retreat. - The location was so lovely - water, wildlife (kingfisher, robins, dragonflies, bats) and flora. The pitch was pretty, clean and tidy. The shower was hot and had good water pressure. Water and wash up access was easy. Provisions given covered essential needs and a few treats too. The gas cooker was a little temperamental, causing some gas to escape.
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb -
- Gildea (9/5): Magical, unforgettable - Beautiful set up, each pitch
- Lucy (8/5): Magical location, comfortable clean and super well equipped Bell Tent great pitch 👌🏼 - We absolutely loved our tent, located right next to to the stream 🤩💫👌🏼 Well thought through with lovely touches added for our ease and comfort ✨🙏🏼 Thank you The Hill was a bit ‘epic’ but once we got used to it it was fine. Definitely only for confident drivers and suitable cars 😉✨
- Sahriskinah (9/5): Fabulous - The scenery was so beautiful. The tent was spotless and very comfortable, the facilities spot on with everything you need for a successful and enjoyable stay. Showers were hot and the kitchen so well equipped.
Staff very friendly and helpful 😄🙏
A great healing space 💚 Didn't realize the length and steepness of the hill🙈 I would love to return on my own or with other friends who don't drive but unfortunately for me the hill too steep with my fibromyalgia at the moment 😔
And my car wouldn't be suitable
- Arran (10/5): Absolutely amazing! - Absolutely loved this campsite! Our tent was right by a river! The location was stunning with a wood opposite. The tents were far apart with a good amount of privacy and space. Lots of thought has gone into the planning of this site. We had a bbq and utensils, fire pit and a stove (for two nights came with two gas cannisters). Double bed, bedding, kettle, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and even a bag of marshmallows with skewers! Loved it so much. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Going to book again asap! We loved everything. The lane is a little tricky, however following advice we made it up fine with no issues!
- Kazlauskaite (8/5): Time in Nature, blissful 😊 - I loved the tent, the nature surrounding it, brbq and fire pit! :)) it was so peaceful and you can hear the river, you can take long walks through the woods, just a perfect place to get away from the city and enjoy the peace 🙏 The entrance to the site, car park. Very steep hill for the car to go back up again :D
- Jessica (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (9/5): Superb - We loved the peaceful setting. There was good space between tent pitches, staff were very friendly and the new kitchen was good. Nice walk through woods and lanes to country pub. Steep gravel driveway made it very hard work transferring luggage via wheelbarrow. Limited spaces at top car park. Only 2 toilet cubicles which was fine when we stayed but could be difficult when campsite is full.
- Colin (10/5): Absolutely stunning! - We stayed in tent “Barbie” which was very comfortable and spacious with everything provided for a wonderful stay. There is now an outdoor kitchen with a fridge freezer to keep food/drinks cool. The shower was hot and powerful with lots of space to change. The views were stunning and the campsite is so tranquil and relaxing. Close to amenities and beaches, we loved going to Teignmouth and Shaldon and the beach at Maidencombe was beautiful. Cannot wait to return. Thank you. There was nothing not to like.
- Dawn (8/5): Very good -
- Wendy (8/5): Very good - Quiet setting. Lovely tent with double bed. Fairly comfy. Easy to settle in. Everything needed was there. Pretty bunting and fairy lights around the posts. Very steep drive down to be near tent. You can stay up at car park 1 but then you have a way to wheel barrow down your belongings. We would have stayed in car park 1 but it was full so couldn't.
- Kevin (9/5): Superb -
