- Helena (10/5): A beautiful stay. - The location was beautiful and peaceful. Good driving distance to explore the area. The lake was beautiful with baby ducks and geese swimming around.
- David (9/5): -
- Karl (10/5): Enjoyed it that much we are booking again for later in the year. - We stayed in the pod / cabinet called Zen and everything was perfect for us .The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We didn’t stay longer.
- Christine (10/5): Excellent stay and would definitely return - Location
Good base camp for exploring the Northumberland coastline
Simple checkin / checkout Would have liked a small microwave but understand that space was difficult
- Beverly (9/5): We had a fabulous stay and totally relaxed and will definitely be back! - Fabulous location, quiet, relaxing, charming. Cosy arrangement and bigger than expected. There wasn’t anything that we didn’t like, but there were just a few very minor things that could be tweaked but not game changers. There is no internet so we couldn’t watch any films or use our Netflix.
There could have been an extra hand towel so that we had one each and the roller blind in kitchen was stained but these were minor issues and overall we had a very relaxing stay.

- Charles (9/5): We loved our stay, the pod has everything we could ask for and was so comfortable. - The location of the pods down a track and then situated around the lake was charming. What a spot. Small attention to detail was excellent, some essentials in the kitchen and shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom was appreciated. Dinner in the Tempus Orangery was just a short walk away through a vineyard was very good. The hot tub was set back from the deck tucked out of the way whilst all other pods seemed to either be on a deck or have a view across the lake which was a shame.
- andrew (10/5): Perfection, will def be back - Perfect location and so quiet , tipi on the doorstep a great addition Nothing
- Wasim (10/5): - Location was amazing. The view from the room exceeded our expectations. Host was very friendly, the hot tub was perfect for us arriving. Would definitely recommend.
- Debbie (10/5): -
- Sylvi (9/5): Lovely getaway - So relaxing, beautiful views. Lovely grounds to take walks. They basically provide everything you would need. Would come back here again in during fall. The appliances, they are basically complicated to use but again they had instructions there so its on us. Couldn’t get the coffee machine to work either even though I have a similar one at home too.
- Hayley (9/5): -
- Lee (10/5): Fantastic pods in a beautiful setting - Great location and fantastic pod in superb setting. Wasn't an issue but kitchen facilities only really suitable for breakfast and lunch, although for these kitchen great.
We had dinner first night at Tempus which was nice but really pricey for what you get.
- Sarah (10/5): We loved it - Lovely stay, beautiful location. Peaceful and relaxing. Great that our dog could come too
- Dan (10/5): -
- Wayne (9/5): -
- Martin (8/5): Lovely relaxing break - Brilliant setting. Lovely and clean. No coffee pods for machine. Little thing, but what’s the point in having it if you don’t supply the coffee.
- Helen (10/5): Beautiful relaxing stay - Lovely setting for the pods , shirt walk to hotel restaurant should you want food or drinks
Beautiful beach only a short drive away & loved the hotub No WiFi was available
- Daniel (5/5): Nice but not great value - Nice enough place but not worth the money. Paid for the king suite and the bed was a double and room very small. Small room
Dirty bathroom
- Laura (10/5): Gorgeous cabin with stunning surroundings - The cabin was so well presented and modern and the views were beautiful. We loved watching the lambs leap around when we were in the hot tub. It’s hard to find a place with a hot tub and where our dog can relax at the same time knowing we’re there but this ticked the boxes. About 5-10 mins walk there is the restaurant which was much better than we imagined.
- Callum (10/5): -
- Josh (8/5): - Was a perfect getaway location would definitely stay again There’s not much I didn’t like, if I had to be picky the couch was a bit small and the tv other than that I loved it
- Carlo (10/5): Superb place and facilities. - Everything was superb Mattress was like quick sand
- Kevin (10/5): -
- Gill (9/5): Nice place and lovely clean lodge. - Quiet location within easy reach of nearby attractions. Easy access to the nearby hotel and dig friendly bar. All OK
- Emma (10/5): very cosy and peaceful - lovely atmosphere, owner was incredibly friendly and helpful n/a
- Alice (6/5): -
- Katie (9/5): Gorgeous, comfortable and tranquil retreat for couples in a fantastic location - Beautiful lodge, gorgeous location, comfortable and hot tub was fantastic. Everything we needed, enough space for two. Loved seeing the horses, bird life, bats, mini lake. Enjoyed our pizza and the live music at the Tipi bar on site Missing just a couple of essential items in the kitchen - washing up liquid and sugar, loads of other items provided which was great.
Seemed like bedside tables and lights hadn’t been dusted, but everything else was very clean and tidy. Very minor niggles and absolutely did not affect us having a wonderful time. Would 100% stay here again.
- Evette (6/5): Pleasant but wouldn't return - Staff was pleasant helpful and friendly
View in room was beautiful
Room size was good
Parking was great
Hot tub on 2nd night was wonderful Bed sheets fitting the matress correctly
Feather pillows, I hate cheap hard pillows, and they give me headache
White crisp bedding, the bedding wasn't soft and comfortable
Pizza cutter in cutlery draw would be useful
The couch had a tear in it
Oven needs a really good clean
Fridge is very small
The place needed a litte re-vamp for me, i paid over £500 for 2 nights, but i have stayed a much nicer lodges for less, infact paid less but got much better quality
I enjoyed my stay, but wouldn't book again
- Julie (7/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): - Lovely, tidy. I didn’t think it was clear the oven was a microwave/oven
- Nicola (7/5): Very calm and relaxing, a beautiful break away - The property was lovely however it has a walkway rather than a deck area so seating area was limited It was very clean and comfortable especially the bed
- JOANNE (7/5): Not luxury accommodation. A bit disappointing 😞 - The location was fabulous. So much to do and see in the surrounding areas.
The actual site was very quiet and peaceful overlooking a lake.
The adjoining hotel had a tipee with live music and pizzas on Fri and Sat night which was really enjoyable. The lodge itself needs a bit of tlc. The windows didn't shut properly. The bathroom sink didn't drain. The hot tub was too hot and felt grimy. It didn't feel like it was checked for chlorine content at all whilst we were there (1 week stay)
I feel like the towels and bedding could have been changed half way through the stay.
The appliances were not easy to work despite following instructions. This included the heater, the tv and the hob. They could all do with upgrading.

- Amy (9/5): Perfect country retreat! - Such a beautiful location, right on the lake. It felt like you were far out in the country, but very central for all locations around Northumberland. Quiet, peaceful and everything we were hoping for. Plus the hot tub was amazing! Nothing!
- Mitchell (8/5): -
- Georgie (10/5): Loved our cosy stay, would love to come back - Gorgeous cabins to stay in, loved being by the lake and felt so cosy. I didn’t think the food in the restaurant was the best value for money.
- Robert (9/5): -
- Maudling (10/5): -
- james (9/5): -
- Samantha (10/5): Perfect rural escape without the inconvenience of being miles from anywhere! - I cannot recommend this stay enough. Part of the Doxford Estate, I was originally going to book the main hotel and spa, however after being diverted to this instead, I was swayed by the facilities, the hot tub and the views. A beautiful open plan cabin with a bedroom, lounge and kitchen/bathroom pod linked together with a swing chair, hot tub, barbeque and outside dining. Also has a hob and Ninja air fryer in the kitchen, for self catering purposes.
The views were spectacular and despite being so very close to the A1, it was peaceful and felt wonderfully remote. Access to the Tempus just cutting through the paddock was also perfect in case I fancied breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks without the washing up. They've also just set up a large festival tent with a pizza oven so I'd imagine the summer will be a lot livelier in the evenings.
Perfectly located to access Alnwick (10min drive), the Northumberland Coastal Route, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Dunstanburgh, Warkworth and Lindisfarne (25min drive). There appeared to be some pretty stunning places inland too (looking at you Cragside), however as I travelled just before the Easter Holidays, many of them were not yet open for the season - ie. Chillingham Castle, Alnwick Castle.
Also, if you are in the area, a must visit is Barter Books in Alnwick. I won't spoil it, just go! The geese alarm clock!
- Christopher (10/5): - Beautiful Location and venue along with helpful staff and the added bonus of it being dog friendly. It rained while we were there but the outdoor hot tub is covered so this didn't effect anything, if anything it made the setting more lovely, in the tub looking out onto the rain hitting the lake.
- Hannah (10/5): Fantastic place, will definitely be back - Great location, comfortable bed and fantastic facilities. Nothing
- Allyson (8/5): Relaxing but could have been cleaner - Had a really lovely weekend in the Zambezi it was spacious fantastic view short walk from tempus Being right on the lakeside there were swarms of mosquitoes and got bit. The cleanliness was under par stains on duvet cobwebs and lots of dust on the floor felt the hot tub was very hot and even putting cold water in it was hot again in no time.
- Rosalynd (9/5): Had a beautiful 3 night stay, location is stunning and perfect to explore the surrounding area. - Clean, beautiful location, everything you needed Nothing!
- Kelly (9/5): Lovely place for a short relaxing stay. - Well thought out cabin with great facilities.
- Robert (10/5): - The location was beautifully scenic, especially on the night with a clear sky.
- Jacqueline (10/5): -
- Marc (10/5): - Quiet and peaceful surroundings, very relaxing environment.
- Ross (9/5): Excellent. Very relaxing - Location. Tranquility Nothing
- Shayna (10/5): - Gorgeous setting to stay at with the lake etc . Place was lovely and clean and I loved how colourful everything was. Would defo stay again and would defo recommend x
- Dean (9/5): - An absolute stunning little set up , so chilled out, which was what we were after, little 1 was staying at momars for the night 👌🏻. The perfect chilled night that we needed 👍🏻❤️ Only fault for myself is the shower as I’m 6ft 3in and my head was touching, however that wouldn’t stop me from returning at all. Could maybe have an option of WiFi as well.
- Hannah (10/5): Peaceful Cosy night away with the dog - We would stay again, lovely
- Paul (9/5): Only stayed for 1 night wish we booked 2 - Lovely and cosy It was lovely and secluded, private space.
- Georgia (10/5): 3rd time staying here and will continue to come back. i love it here so peaceful and beautiful views in the hot tub. i w -
- Mckechnie (10/5): - Everything especially the peace and quiet Nothing
- Lourdes (10/5): -
- James (9/5): - Excellent quiet location. Available hot tub Price was slightly above what I would expect
- Craig (10/5): Brilliant, would 100% return and will recommend - Lovely setting, pods where bigger than I expected and we felt very comfortable, as was the bed. Setup of parking and getting to the pods is non complicated and makes it easy to relax as soon as you get on site. Would 100% return and will be recommending to all my friends and family, only wish we could have stayed longer! Tea was supplied but no milk, maybe a couple of long life milk pods or recommend people bring milk, this in no way took away from the experience just an observation for people who love a cuppa!
- Jennifer (9/5): Well worth a visit! - Location is very peaceful and tranquil.
The hot tub is very good and a real bonus for your stay.
- Stuart (10/5): - Such a tranquil setting. So peaceful. Eating at The Tempus is a must. Beautiful meal and very friendly staff A hook in the shower room is required
- Christine (8/5): We enjoyed our visit to Northumberland and Blossom Plantation provided a very good base. - The location was leafy and felt secluded
It was very well placed from which to visit the local attractions
The room décor is gently modern, comfortable and relaxing. Though a single space it divided well into sleeping, sitting and kitchen areas.
The kitchen was excellent for its small size, hotplate, multifunctional oven and with a decent fridge. The kitchen sink drained well.
The hot tub kept its heat well and commanded a pleasant view (wooden so no bubbles but we didn't mind that) The site owners didn't introduce themselves at all in person - just a disembodied, somewhat curtailed WhatsApp presence on my phone. Whilst not essential, an introductory visit at some point to see if we were okay is a nicety which would have been appreciated. We did see someone we thought might be a host attending to our hot tub at one point but they retreated very quickly when we came out.
The bathroom sink did not drain properly, a constant but very minor irritation.
Practical information somewhat lacking. No plan of the site initially provided so it took a while to find the accommodation. We found the bins pretty quickly but no formal directions. Similarly with the hot tub. No temperature control - just turn it on and wait and use cold water from the hose to cool it if necessary. It took us two days to get a feel for the speed of heating and cooling with and without its insulated cover.
But having said all that - I would recommend this place and I would consider returning in future.
- Ashley (8/5): - Gorgeous location and setting

- Purvis (10/5): Perfect vacation at the Blossom plantation! - Lovely location and the accommodation was spot on. The weather 😂, we will need to come back in the summer.
- Shauna (10/5): Fantastic stay for a relaxing night away from reality. Will absolutely be returning in the near future! - A beautiful place. Quiet and tranquil, had everything we needed. Nothing to dislike. It was amazing all round
- Lauren (7/5): -
- Alex (8/5): Lovely, just a few tweaks to make it more of a 5* stay for what you are paying. - Location and close to hotel facilities if required Electricity tripping when trying to use the outside area (hot tub light) & kettle facilities.
- David (10/5): - Lovely tranquil location very private everything there that we needed very comfortable Nothing even the weather didn’t spoil our weekend
- Nataliie (10/5): Best couples getaway in Northumberland - The oven and “hob” aren’t the best could do with clearer instructions
- james (7/5): Nice stay and we enjoyed it but been to better places for the money. - Nice pod, nice decor, hot tub was good. Proximity to tempus was good. Awful lighting, we arrived in the dark and it took us ages and a phone call to the owners to find our pod. Different names from booking to onsite did not help. Lights are a big miss.
- Laura (9/5): - Beautiful location. Loved the hot tub. The cabin was warm and cosy and had everything we needed. The hot tub took a long time to heat up. We had a lot of heavy rain while we were there and the cabin leaked in a couple of places.
- McBride (10/5): -
- Joshua (10/5): -
- Edward (10/5): -
- Abbey (8/5): -
- Nicola (10/5): Lovely birthday weekend - It was very warm cosy bed comfy decorated nice hot tub great location calm also can walk to the hotel for drinks and food which is really good also very private overall lovely pods will return Maybe a nice welcome drink would have been nice to add to the luxury and perhaps plastic glasses for use in hot tub
- Sam (7/5): Second stay here and we Really enjoyed it overall just a shame about some small issues - Really good, relaxing and facilities great. Cleanliness was an issue, microwave filthy and generally dirty room. Milk out of date and coffee machine unusable. WiFi would have been great
- John (10/5): - Zen lodge was beautiful...best yet ..back next year again
- Eleanor (7/5): -
- Smith (10/5): Fantastic location with great views and facilities - The location is idealic and peaceful. Perfect for walking to dog. The hot tub was bliss on a stormy night You need a car to get to any walks outside the immediate grounds
- Jenny (9/5): -
- Dominic (10/5): The perfect place to reset and relax - would 100% recommend! - The accommodation was fabulous. The site is so peaceful and beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would definitely come back in the future! Nothing!
- Matthew (10/5): -
- Piet (10/5): - location was excellent, very peaceful and quiet instructions for the hot tub were not very clear and almost off putting to use it, with too much focus on the hazards
- david (9/5): An excellent 4 day stay in a great location, very peaceful by the kake - Superb location and enjoyed the hot tub would go again Access road to the property was down a lane and the actual property wasn't that easy to find other couples found it the same maybe clearer numbers on the lodges,
- Julie (9/5): - Beautiful, quiet, rural, but close to The Tempus hotel and restaurant for lovely meals and drinks. Toaster needs replacing. Timer doesn't work. A simple fix. Very annoying when you have toast every day and every 30 seconds it's popping out.
- Ellen (9/5): Total relaxation - The location was beautiful No lights up to the hotel so we used the lights on our phones
- Boulton (10/5): Quiet adult retreat - Location, cleanliness, adult only. Bar close by. Accommodation had in everything we needed. Very minor. Unblocked view into the bathroom there was a blind but then no natural light.
- LUKE (9/5): -
- Kirstie (10/5): -
- Ceu (8/5): Loved it, will definitely come back 😊 - The cabin we stayed was very spacious and the hot tub was really nice! It is a very good place to escape from the busy city life, since you get to wake up to the birds and with an amazing view of the lake. Nothing to not like about it!
- Clarke (9/5): We'll be back! - Fantastic location overlooking the lake. Very clean and well maintained. I can't think of anything.
- Dean (9/5): It was tranquil and just what was needed - Very relaxing Noise from the A1 road
- Vanessa (8/5): Perfectly relaxing place to stay! - Secluded, gorgeous view, snug accommodation. Lack of WiFi,
