Guest Reviews
- Carolina (10/5): We enjoyed our 5 nights so much. We really had time to relax and enjoy the beautiful soundings - Location, the friendly help we got all the time, the food
A pousada conta ainda com praia particular, onde disponibiliza snorkel, stand up paddle e caiaque.
Certamente voltaremos e indicamos.
- Pili (10/5): EXCEL.LENT - Tot!
- Brian Anthony (8/5): Total relax - Location and friendly staff No mosquito nets.
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Boris (9/5): Perfect for couples looking to unwind in seclusion with zero pressure. - Seclusion and privacy. Low water pressure at times.
- Andy (10/5): A beautiful piece of paradise, friendly staff, delicious food and comfortable beds. - It is a beautiful hotel with its own private beach. The food was amazing with freshly caught fish of lobster served each night. No fault of the property but as people have mentioned you can have noisy boats mooring nearby for a few hours in the middle of the day but I imagine that is true for all of these islands.
- Julio (10/5): "A Hidden Gem: Excepcional Hospitality and Beachfront Bliss" - This week my wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this charming little hotel right in front of a beautiful white sandy beach and it truly exceded my expectations.
From the moment we arrived the host Piedad and the staff made us feel like part of their family. Their warmth, attention to detail and genuine care for their guests made our stay unforgetable.
The hotel itself was cozy and well-maintained offering a perfect balance of comfort and charm. The beach was just steps away, offering a peaceful escape with crystal-clear waters and soft white sands.
What truly set the place apart, however, was the staff - their hospitality went above and beyond. The host made great recommendations for activities and spots, made sure we had everything we needed, and always checked in to make sure we were comfortable. It's rare to find a place where you feel so welcomed and at home. I highly recommed Cabaña Salsipuedes to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with a personal touch. You won't be disappointed!
- Amanda (3/5): Rude host, noisy location, cold and unfriendly atmosphere. - The house is beautiful but the overall atmosphere makes it impossible to enjoy. The host made us feel very uncomfortable; we felt like our presence was unwanted from the beginning. She did not smile or say welcome when we arrived—the only introduction was her long list of rules. We did everything as she instructed, plus we kept quiet, went to bed early, etc. Yet, she ignored us, looked the other way when we were around, even when we smiled and said hi. It was very strange, as if she was angry at us.
When we left the hotel, the host did not say goodbye—just an "OK" when we paid and gave a small tip, despite the terrible service. We left the island with an anxious feeling that took a while to shake off.
Would not recommend anyone to stay at this place, even though it looks nice in the pictures. That doesn’t matter when the vibe is cold and unfriendly. This was our most expensive accommodation during our three weeks in Colombia and definitely our worst booking.com experience ever.
Location: this part of Isla Tintipán is the noisiest, as all the party boats and people come here to party—loud music plays between 11 and 15, making it unpleasant to stay at the beach during this time. We went to other parts of the island, which are only accessible by kayak or paddleboard, but since the maximum usage time is three hours per day, planning can be tricky.
- Eva (7/5): It was very paradoxical, quite beautiful, but also disturbing. The staff were exceptional and very attentive. The food w - The staff were exceptional, the grounds were well maintained.
The rooms were Bohemian chic There was minimal water and it was not hot for a shower. The loud music from the boats next-door was really annoying.
Time on the terraces was very limited because of the bug situation. No see ems.
- Juan (10/5): A place you have to be at least one time in your life - EVERYTHING. I stayed for 5 days and I felt like I was part of the family.
Piedad and Dario treat us like kings!
And the stuff was so kind and helpful all the time.
BTW best food i had in my entire trip.
Ask for the cazuela you will love it!
Also it’s the only beach that people can’t access so it makes it very private.
Seriously I miss you so much guys and your beautiful home! LEAVING
- James (10/5): Great place to spend time away on an island. - Great location, super friendly staff and also other guests. The jetty out the back is perfect for peace and quiet. Food was good and amazing pancakes for breakfast! We loved being here.
- Madeleine (9/5): Lovely place to relax for a few days! - Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Great good at fantastic prices. Warm and welcoming staff. Adorable dogs on the property. Kayaks and stand up paddles available at no cost. Private and secluded. This is a great place to stay if you want to relax and read. Because the island seems to be mostly mangroves, there is little to walk to, so get your exercise by swimming or kayaking. Also, while you’ll be on a private beach, the one “next door” is a popular docking stop for day tourists who blast their music and leave trash behind. Obviously no fault of Cabana Sal Si Puedes, but be aware. And finally, bring bug spray - the critters are hungry!!
- Richard (10/5): amazing place - amazing hospitality, delicious food, always smiling and kind staff, beautiful private beach, family owned business. if you are deciding which hotel to book at Tintipan, I highly recommend this one. nothing
- Patrick (10/5): Paradise in the heart of San Bernardo archipel - Piedad and the whole staff were very nice and friendly.
Great food and services
Great vacations Only remark , the noise of the tourists boat near the public beach during the weekend
- Francis (10/5): Perfect getaway for peace and relaxation. - The Cabana, the grounds, and the water are all beautiful. The food was all delicious and fresh, and the staff are the best. It was the perfect slice of paradise and I feel very lucky that I was able to experience it. That we had to leave eventually. But seriously, no complaints, though some neighboring boats were a little noisy one day of the trip.
- Mark (10/5): Excellent place and would recommend this stay to anyone - The location of the property and the small beach area that was exclusive to the hotel Nothing as the service was excellent from all staff members as well as the Owner . They made us feel very welcome and part of the family.
- Filipa (10/5): Exceptional! - This place was my favorite one in my whole stay in Colombia! The place itself is beautiful with a private beach with blue sea and white sand, far from the public one but still close if you want to walk around. The room was beautiful with a seaview and super spacious with a good and clean bathroom.
The staff is amazing - Dairon, Careli and the owners - are all lovely and friendly people. Their love for animals and nature is beautiful, Brownie the dog is super cute. All the meals ( breakfast, lunch, dinner) are delicious!! nothing
- Antonius (10/5): Little Paradise! - I had a really good time. SalSiPuedes is a little paradise. Beautiful place with private beach, a lot of nice places to chill, really good and really helpfull staff, friendly and helpfull owners, nice room with AC and fan etc It’s fun to snorkel and especialy to kano round the island (3hours). Very good place to relax. there is a disadvantage that there is a public beach 100m away where boats come with day trippers between 10 and 15 o'clock. in the weekend and certainly in the high season this is more. I myself did not suffer from it.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed for 3 nights in this little paradise. The hotel has its own private beach, two kayaks and paddle boards that you can use for free and delicious food from their amazing chef. We had the three person bedroom and enjoyed the hotel for ourselves most of the time. On weekends there is loud music from boats during the day on the public beach next door, but it didn't bother us. We loved our stay on Tintipan in this small hotel.
- Marta (10/5): Great place to chill and explore the island - Friendly and welcoming staff, everyone was so nice
- Samuel (10/5): Paradise, private beach, great food, amazing staff, beautiful location -
- Matthieu (9/5): Very peaceful and enjoyable - The place, the calm and beautiful atmosphere, the cooking from a very nice woman. The fact that there are different chill places to enjoy the view and the sea. The landlords were very polite and helpful, could be great for them to be more unformal and to show interest for the hosts. The people who work for them were so caring and nice by the way. The cooker is an exceptional woman, smiling, professional and making delicious meals :).
- Mercado (10/5): A place to stay for a relaxing weekend to disconnect and recharge. - The location is fantastic! You have a warm private beach in front and a little dock behind the property. The area is relatively quiet. The food was excellent and relatively inexpensive, and the staff was super friendly! I would go back. There is nothing I didn't like about the stay.
- Melissa (10/5): Best service, beautiful place! - Everything! The service is great, the private beach is well kept and the facilities are all we needed for our relaxing 3 day weekend. Beautiful and clean property! Limited options for cocktails, I think they could only make 1 when we were there.
- Camille (10/5): Perfect place for spending a few calm days, enjoying a beautiful beach and delicious food. - Delicious food! Even though I don‘t eat sea food I really enjoyed it. Probably the best fish I ever had or just delicious coconut rice, delicious salad and potatoes. Also loved the simple pasta that was offered as an alternative.
I think people should give the hostess more grace. A lot of the rudeness that people attest her probably comes from misunderstandings, as she is not really fluent in English, which you can‘t expect in a foreign country. On top of that people don‘t seem to understand, that everything has to be brought to the island: water, food and so on.
- Matthieu&veronique (10/5): Exceptional - Very peaceful and beautiful ! Nothing
- Mark (8/5): Accommodation was comfortable. - The room was air conditioned. There was a rope in the water separating the pier from sea. My wife touched it and got an allergic reaction. It has happened to others and the owners knew about it.
- Rubi (10/5): Amazing - Beautiful boutique tiny hotel on a Caribbean island. Simple but very elegant design. Great care put into everything. Excellent staff. Snorkeling was great. Kayaks available. Boat trips to nearby islands. Private beautiful beach as well as the deck in the back where there is a beautiful mangrove lagoon where you can see the sunsets and swim with fluorescent plankton if the moonlight isn’t too strong. Excellent breakfasts as were other meals. Would really love to come back one day!
- Lambert (10/5): Exceptional - Location was amazing. Private beautiful beach as well as the deck in the back. Staff was amazing and very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were great as were other meals. Nothing
- Valentina (10/5): Exceptional - Location
Food
Full relax Nothing
- Valeria (10/5): Amazing place, food, service, views!!! - It is an amazing place, beautiful beach and views, many different activities such as kayaking and snorkeling available. The food was really great and in overall the place is just amazing to have a good rest and enjoy Colombian Caribbean paradise. Everything was amazing!
- Saed (10/5): Coming back asap. - This is a magical place! There are only 3 rooms in property making it a very private and cosy experience. You have the beach to yourself all day and a beautiful mangrove lagoon in the back for sunsets and nighttime swimming. There is home cooking every day with delicious seafood. Trips can be arranged rather quickly for snorkeling or other islands. Having dinner with other guests is a great experience as well. Puedes is the best! She really puts her heart and soul into this property. The staff is super nice! Everything is nice clean. The complaints about music in other reviews did not materialize during our 4 nights (Tues-Sat). It was so so so quiet. Nothing.
- Steffen (9/5): Good Food and nice staff geklingelt ist with everything :) -
- Daniel (10/5): Amazing location, surroundings and staff! A perfect break from normal busy life! - The island is quite isolated, yet the hotel has all the necessary amenities. It feels like a real escape from the world! Beautiful surroundings with a rustic charm. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The beach, mangroves and other areas were lovely and there were so many places to relax. Also great activity opportunities! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was good but after a few days was slightly repetitive.
- Elena (3/5): Great potential... terrible management made it a bad experience - This small hotel has great potential. It's tiny but perfectly located: close enough to the main beach but far enough not to hear any noise or sounds from tourists or boats. Unfortunately the owner was so unpleasant to us that the whole experience was ruined. We all live in colombia and we are used to the warmth and kindness of its people, especially when in the service industry. Why own a hotel if you are going to feel your guests unwelcomed? - I understand we are on an island, but if you offer dinner, there should be a few more options. Pasta with two sauce options is not enough
- The attitude of the owner. We felt like we had to beg for everything and in multiple occasions we were given rude answers
- I was tanning and i literally got asked to get up to go settle the bill
- They made a mistake in the reservation and tried to blame it on us
- Maxime (9/5): Paradise - We had an amazing time at Sal Si Puedes. When we arrived with the boat, an employee was waiting for us to escort us to the hotel. When we arrived, we could not believe our eyes. It felt like paradise! There was only 1 other couple staying at the location, so we had the feeling we had a private stay/beach. The food was really amazing. The staff is very helpfull. You can borrow kayaks, SUPs, ... for free! Just relax and enjoy... The owner of the hotel was a bit impolite.
- Stephan (4/5): Overpriced poor accommodation at a worthless beach - The terrace and the balcony. Totally overpriced for what you get. Small room with just the beds and any other furniture. Dripping cold shower, not any hot water. Mattress painful hard. Poor breakfast. Paid 170 Euro the night for that. Beach not good. In the deeper water corals and stones. Whole fish and fish filet served was dry and tasteless without any sauce. The whole island is not worth to visit.
- Nathalie (8/5): Very good -
- Mariana (10/5): Excellent small hotel! - The private beach is amazing! The staff, the views, the food. Everything was excellent, you can tell Piedad really cares about her hotel and her guests. We felt right at home and spent our days relaxing to the max.
- Valeria (10/5): Paradise on earth - The hotel is really nice, with only a few rooms! The beach is simply amazing and the hotel gave us a canoa and mask for snorkeling, all for free.
The service is perfect and the cocktail of the house is really good!
we also enjoyed the food (a lot of fresh fish)…we felt in paradise nothing
- Taciana (9/5): Superb - Edgar took very good care of us, and Maria cooked everything so good!! It was really nice!
- Márton (9/5): Relaxation in paradise - Welcoming staff, excellent location for a getaway, quality rooms with great common spaces and private beach. Really nothing to spare my words on, except for the occasional half-day beach tourists blasting 5 different types of music at the same time.
- Edoardo (9/5): WOW - Best part of out Colombia holiday trip, such a paradise! The manager should be nicer and more welcoming…
- Manesh (10/5): Welcome to paradise! - Paradise! A really beautiful Caribbean style island just under two hours from Cartagena. The staff were really kind and the food and drink were all delicious. An amazing spot to chill and relax for a few days but there are also activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkelling all available for no additional cost. And best of all, a chance to see and swim with fluorescent plankton if the moonlight isn’t too strong. The room was as described and clean and comfortable. There are so many nice spots, including a small private beach, with deckchairs and/or hammocks to sit and watch the sea with a book in hand. It feels like you’re staying in someone’s home rather than being just another customer at a hotel. Would really love to come back one day! These weren’t negative points for us but a few pointers to help future guests:
Take the boat to/from Cartagena (rather than to/from Tolu) - we contacted the boat company by WhatsApp to pay and confirm the tickets. It could be a bumpy ride and no toilets available for two hours… but it’s totally worth it to get to Tintipán island!
Party boats at the weekend - these park in the next inlet from Sal Si Puedes and play their music pretty loud. We quite enjoyed the music but some people could find this annoying on what is otherwise a really calm and peaceful island. On Saturday and Sunday the boats were there from 11am until 3:30pm at which point they have to leave to return to the mainland and the peace is restored!
Limited (but delicious!) food options - being a relatively isolated island, there are only a handful of food options but these did vary daily so that during our 4 night stay we really enjoyed all the fresh seafood. Dinner is served at the same table as the other guests (there are only 3 rooms at the property) which is a nice way to meet others but could be awkward if you prefer privacy!
Bring cash - we had all our lunches and dinners, plus cocktails and soft drinks and an additional snorkelling trip. Bringing around 500k COP per day (approx $120 or €110 per day) should be enough to eat and drink plenty! Use the ATMs in Cartagena as there are none on the islands.
Storms - it’s a tropical location so storms happen! We had a really big one in the night with incredibly loud thunder and heavy rain but by morning, everything was back to normal!
- Hanne (10/5): Beautiful hotel in a very relaxing environment. Highly recommended! - The hotel, staff and location were all amazing. They are so attentive and always want to make sure you are fine. The food is really good and you can choose to eat together with the other guests, which was really nice. It´s a small hotel with only 3 rooms, so you all become like a family. The location is superb and its the perfect place to relax. You can also disover the island with a kayak or SUP board, or snorkel close to the hotel. We had the perfect stay!
- Gina (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel on dreamy tropical island. The most relaxing holiday imaginable. - Bliss. Idyllic boutique tiny hotel on a tropical island. Simple but very elegant design. Such thought and care is put into everything. Excellent staff, particularly Karen. Snorkelling is great. Kayaks available. Boat trips to nearby islands. Private beach. Excellent breakfasts and amazing fish. There are no local bars or restaurants which I thought might be an issue but really wasn’t. Loved it. The most relaxed I have ever been. Ever. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Nothing really. Craved more salads and vegetables is all but that was general in Colombia.
- Elena (9/5): Hidden gem - Truly amazing service and beautiful property The way to get there can be pretty tricky, we didn’t have a good experience with our boat ride from Tolu. We needed to jump from the water up until chest and holding our bags to get into the boat, dozens of folks were pushed together into a very small vessel, everything was super dirty and the captain was driving like a maniac. And that for a pretty high price. Transfer from/to Cartagena is all right and much more civilized though, we definitely recommend that one.
But this comment has less to do with the property itself, and should be seen more as a warning. If you have a choice, then go from Cartagena to avoid the chaos.
- Leda (9/5): Maravillosa! The island was an amazing peaceful getaway! Kayaks/paddleboards an amzaing option. - Everything was good. we love it it would be great to be able to pay with credit card, but we understand there are limits with the internet capabilities.
- Dominique (10/5): This hotel is a paradise to get away from it all - Gorgeous grounds, extremely clean beach, excellent staff and amazing food Mosquitos!
- Amy (8/5): Small hotel on beautiful private beach! - Absolutely beautiful private beach! Lovely sea & sand.
Staff were friendly & always available
Some of the food was delicious - the fresh prawns & fish we had on day 1 were so tasty. Fresh fruit & juices were good too.
Our room (1) was comfortable & big.
Transport to/from hotel by boat was easy.
Snorkelling gear / paddle board / kayak on offer. It’s a small 3 bedroom place so not very “private”, communal areas are quite limited if the hotel is full.
There’s a decent amount of shade from trees in the late PM but it would be good to have moveable sunshades so guests can chill out wherever they like.
Food is served at specific times and all together with the other guests which can feel a bit awkward. Would be good to offer seating at other tables (which we did ask for one night and they arranged)
Shower in room 1 is very small.
Flies & mosquitos are everywhere - hotel should provide paraben lamps / mosquito spray.
Rooftop in room 1 needs some care - only 2 loungers and isn’t set up for actual use. Could be really nice with a simple table, sunshade, a few lights.
- Aimée (10/5): Upscale boutique paradise in Rosario Islands - Absolutely everything - it is hard to explain how beautiful this place it. I have rarely been surprised by somewhere looking more beautiful on real like that the photos but it really is. The service is impeccable, the location perfect, the private beach is gorgeous and the mangrove side is an amazing spot for sunset. There is only three rooms so it never gets too busy and the staff is so attentive. The free use of paddle boards, kayak and snorkelling gear is fab. It’s really a stand apart hotel in the Rosario islands at a reasonable price. Lots of mosquitoes and sandflies but this is the case everywhere in the islands! Bring some good oil based repellents!
- Paula (9/5): Superb -
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was amazing and the island was incredibly beatiful. Incredible food! Nothing was perfect!.
- Yann (10/5): This place is paradise on Earth - The hotel was amazing, small and comfortable, with stunning location and views. Food super delicious, staff nice and helpful. Perfect place for couples searching calm, peaceful days in a Caribbean paradise. Thanks to Piedad and the team we spent unforgettable moments at Sal si puedes. Can't wait to return again. Everything was perfect.
- Tenna (10/5): Absolutely amazing! Highly recommend! - This is one of the best boutique hotels I have ever stayed in (and I have travelled a lot all over the world). We kayaked around the island and visited other small islands - this is definitely the best place we saw.
1) The privacy of the amazing beach, and only 3 rooms which gives you space but also an opportunity to connect with other travelers
2) You can snorkel with plankton right on the back side of the property at the mangrove
3) The owner is the nicest lady and runs the place perfect! Agree with all her choices. Very homey.
4) Free paddle board and kayak
5) Amazing food!
6) Lots of hang out areas
7) The owner can organize trips to the other islands Mucura and Islote for you. Book it !
- Francesco (10/5): Spend some time in paradise - The experience at the hotel managed by S.ra Piedad was simply perfect. The facilities are impeccably clean and the room was very simple but nice. The house only has 3 bedrooms, which makes the experience very intimate and fosters a nice relationship with other guests. The staff is very attentive and nice, and all the activities provided (Kykak, Paddle, Plankton) added a very nice touch. The beach is private and pristine - in my opinion the best among all in Tintinpan and Mucura, and you can walk outside of the hotel back and forth if you feel like exploring further.
A special note goes for the kitchen (and Mari): we are vegan and the entire staff went the extra mile to cook special meals for us which were tasty, varied, and 100% with local ingredients. Even if not explicitly mentioned in their menu, they can accomodate any dietary need and you'll never feel like "you are stuck" with fixed options. The carimanolas we had for breakfasts were delicious! They even accomodate to cook for us some provisions we brought from Cartagena (as we wrongly feared we might run out of options).
We found that the comments about the boats with music, although true - there are tourist boats with music some days, were a bit exaggerated. But maybe we were lucky as we went there the week after Easter which is calmer. In any case, this one was still the quietest beach of all - considering all other hotels have music and parties.
Two things to consider:
- WiFI might be spotty (but it's totally understandable given the location) however cellular service is reliable if you have a Colombian Sim as we did
- You are bound by the times of the boat to arrive and leave - please book that in advance along with the reservation.
I will definitely go back when I'll travel again in Colombia. The attitude of the person answering on booking and whatsapp (an admin in Cartagena, we were told) was a bit cold and telegraphic - e.g. about vegan options, but don't let that put you down as the entire staff at the hotel is very warm, kind, and accommodating.
- Kelsie (10/5): Exceptional - It was complete seclusion. Peidad was a wonderful host. We felt taken care of the entire time.
- Rodrigo (10/5): Time to relax and enjoy the nature!! - Sal Si Puedes, paradise on Tintipan Island. Hotel wonderful! Place to relax, nice breakfast and foods very fresh and good reception! The owner, Piedad, is a nice host and she receive all very well! All was perfect!!!
- Pieter (7/5): Good - Great location, everything good quality. From the food to the amenities. It's close to the main beach of the island. That beach is wonderful. Crowded from 10:00 to 15:00 but otherwise you'll have it for yourself. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The pier to the mangroves is a nice addition. The owner has a passive aggressive management style with the staff. Very noticeable and off-putting, if you understand Spanish. When we arrived she gave us a speech about everything that was not possible. Please dont do this, you can't have snacks if you don't order them hours in advance, etc.. None of it was a deal breaker in itself but it was a cold welcome. She probably means well I guess.
- Andrea (9/5): Lovely B&B on a beautiful island, just ignore the party boat - We stayed 3 nights at Sal Si Puedes in the triple standard room, which has a fantastic view. The building is a beautiful handcrafted house right on the water with a small private beach on the small island. Breakfast and lunch are included. Meals are simple but tasty typical Colombian fare. The water is warm, the beach is clean, and you can kayak around the island. We had a wonderful time and had great conversation with the owner Dario, who was so patient with my awful Spanish. Some reviewers point out that dinnertime isn't flexible enough or complain about limited resources (power and water), but the location is on a remote island--this isn't a B&B on the mainland. We loved this place and enjoyed the sound of the sea and waves at night. Unfortunately, a loud obnoxious party boat pulls up and parks at the beach next door, every day, and plays REALLY loud thumping music that you can't ignore. They leave around 3pm. Nothing anyone can do, but be prepared to have this going on for several hours in the middle of each day.
- Faye (10/5): Utterly fabulous - Sal Si Puedes is complete paradise. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations - the staff were fantastic and really attentive, the room was very comfortable and luxurious and the private beach area was fabulous. It as the perfect place to unwind and relax at a reasonable cost. Thank you to the owner and the staff for looking after us - we will be back! Nothing - it was perfect for what we were looking for!
- Aneta (10/5): Amazing stay 😍 - The owners of the property and their staff were absolutely amazing. The privacy of the hotel was fantastic. Facilities so beautiful. You have the perfect window view from all rooms. You are cared like you were with your loving family. The food is great too. And you can go to the lagoon to see the photo plankton. It is a part of the property. I loved it. It is a beautiful hotel. Nicely decorated. The main suit is absolutely gorgeous. The other two rooms share a dreamy terrace. Really stunning. The rooms are a little over crowded with beds and no night tables. And I really missed a mirror in my room. These details though would not stop me from saying it was amazing and from coming back.
- Antoine (9/5): Superb -
- Ramiro (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent hotel. Everything was great
- James (10/5): Fantastic place to stay for a couple of days to relax and unwind. Owner and Staff were great hosts (and very accommodati - Beautiful Property & location, Fantastic food (breakfast, lunch, dinner), great staff
- Anne (10/5): Relaxing Stay in Paradise - private beach, food, cleanliness, attentive staff, lagoon, kayaking, snorkeling boat safe didn’t work
- Carovilla (10/5): Exceptional - Great food! Beautiful location in the island Amazing staff, everything was clean and well taken care of, will definitely come back again!
- Amira (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, great place, very nice owners and staff. Thank you very much for everything!
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - We had an amazing time at this super charming and small hotel. The location is quiet, once side you have a beautiful beach and the other side the mangroves. The perfect place for couples to fully unwind, read and sleep! You don’t have a worry about anything, they reserve you breakfast, lunch and dinner. The lobster was delicious! Nothing! we would only recommended - if you can - to stay during the week to avoid the noise/crowd from the main beach. the property has a private beach but some boats with people that come for a day will play super loud music. a bummer - since this place is to relax, read and enjoy the peace!
- Martin (9/5): Superb - Food was amazing (if you like seafood), but there are usually only two choices for lunch and dinner. There are a lot of great places to sit and relax and the private beach is clean and beautiful. Since there are only three rooms, there is usually ample choice between the places to hang. At the back of the property is a small dock which you get to through the mangrove forest. During the day there is usually a nice breeze and during the evening it is an amazing place to see phytoplankton. You should definitely try snorkling in it - it is magical! On clear nights there is so little light polution on the dock that you can see the milky way.
There is both a SUP board, a 2-person kayak, snorkling gear, and beach paddle game you can borrow for free - all in excellent condition.
The staff is simply amazing and the owner is serious about sustainable tourism, which is great. While we were there, the hotel hosted a whole crew of environmental workers working on coral renewal. There were only two cocktails that both had Aguadiente in them, so if that is not for you, the beverage selection is very limited. There is only air condition from 8.00 to 20.00, which might be a problem for some. However, this is due to the hotel running on solar power, so it makes sense. There is only cold water in the shower and when it rained it leaked through the ceiling. This has obviously been happening for some time as there was mold in the ceiling.
The biggest problem by far are the day trip boats that come every day at around 10.30 and leave at around 15.30. If you're looking for peace and quiet during the day, the only option is to go to the dock at the other side of the mangrove, which is where we ended up spending most of our time.
