Guest Reviews

- Dow (6/5): Very basic but centrally located on Peckham Rye High St - Clean and modern. Thankfully I'd read the reviews before staying so was aware of the pros and cons of staying here. It suited us well as we were visiting friends for just 1 night and all we needed was a bed that was within walking distance. Basically an empty room with a bed and wardrobe and bathroom.
No bedside lamps or TV, and a shared kitchen with other residents that clearly do not welcome renters when you walk into the shared kitchen area.
Kitchen literally has a couple of knives and forks and some cups/saucers for espresso sized drinks, so couldn't really even make a drink and everything belonging to other residents is clearly marked as such.
Didn't matter to us but the room is on the top floor with lots of stairs to go up so perhaps not well suited to those with lots of luggage or mobility issues.
Check-in process worked but seems unnecessarily convoluted. You have to get to the High St then call and they text you a photo of the front door (an old one, what appears as HSBC in the pic is now Specsavers). Then when you get there you have to phone again and they tell you the code for the front door. I'm not sure why they don't simply text you all these details in advance. To find the property head to the road down the side of Primark, door to property is next to SpecSavers (black double doors).
- Michael (1/5): Certainly not a place I will ever forget.I just wishI could. - quite honestly it really wasn’t up to an adequate basic standard. So embarrassing to take my wife to it. so I didn’t like anything about it. Poor communication to gain access to the property. I was given both a phone and WhatsApp number and told to contact via the WhatsApp number. it was never answered so I phoned the mobile. The room was at the top of five flights of stairs. it was one room of a number of bed sits. The advertised kitchen was indeed a shared kitchen with the residents so we couldn’t use it. The pillows had no pillow cases. There were black hairs in the shower and the bed linen was not ironed.
- Yvonne (9/5): Perfect location and will use it again - The property is well located and property is clean, modern and very spacious. Not a bad comment, but if you have luggage, there are a few stair flights you need to climb.
- Mike (1/5): Bad -
- Bernard (9/5): Simply ok -
- Christopher (5/5): Passable -
- White (5/5): average stay - location Heating broken
- Dawn (6/5): Pleasant -
- Aine (2/5): Miserable - Very little We had to wait at 6pm for an hour for someone to let us in and then another half hour for someone to clean it. We had arrangements at 630pm and were late.
The room was up 75 steep stairs and the last 20 were narrow. I had my hop replaced 4 months ago and did not expect such a climb. We had to leave after day 1 as too much for me.
There was no door between the bathroom and the bedroom. There was no bedside light. The bed linen was scratchy. It was pretty miserable
- Julie (8/5): Great for the Copeland jazz evening - location great for the jazz event. lovely and clean. Great little kitchen! lovely views. lovely host the mattress was still in its plastic packaging from purchase. this meant the sheet didn't stay on the bed and it was terribly noisy and awfully uncomfortable. so we had a poor night's sleep.
I'm sure it says somewhere that is up many stairs, I just didn't see this. this was fine for us but may not be for others.
- Lola (10/5): Exceptional - It’s actually nice and comfortable.
- Mandy (7/5): Tricky check in - Good price and excellent location. Stressful check in. I was running late then they took ages to come to the accommodation to let me in. I didn't have my passport for ID which caused more stress but who does when aren't travelling abroad?
- Kevin (9/5): Great find! I will definitely stay here again - Everything was new and well presented Noisy area of town
- Asif (2/5): There is no reception I was waiting for outside of the property for 2 hours with my luggage - Average room cleannesses No reception no lift in the property
- Ye (1/5): As there was no response, we were unable to check in - As there was no response, we were unable to check in As there was no response, we were unable to check in
- Zarah (7/5): Good - The place was clean. The stairs was an issue for me.
- Todd (10/5): Fantastic location and really great value for money!! - Fantastic location on Peckham high street. This clean and modern place was lovely. The room had everything needed for a short trip and felt safe too. the host was really welcoming! Thank you for a lovely stay! Room could do with some more amenities such as: hair dryer, shower gel, teas/ coffees etc. However, for the price and location you can easily go and grab these from a shop nearby.
