Guest Reviews
- Ann (10/5): - Beautiful cottage. Decorated and furnished to a high standard. Well equipped. Very comfortable. Highly recommend.
- Ella (10/5): Amazing property and highly recommended. - The host had thought of everything that a visitor might need when staying away from home and the bed in the main bedroom was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on! Parking is a bit tricky but there was only one occasion when we had to park further away.
- margaret (8/5): We enjoyed the area and found exploring was easy both on foot in the village and by steam train and - Great location easy to walk into the centre . Open plan living room meant it was hard to heat and only a few ligs provided for the log burner . In winter these are not an added luxury but essential.
Parking was difficult and we had to park on a nearby estate but nothing can be done about that .
- claire (10/5): Gorgeous cosy cottage stay - Cosy cottage just lovely! Everything was good
- erica (9/5): -
- Emma (10/5): Beautiful stay in a quaint and lovely cottage - we loved it! - A lovely cottage in the heart of Pickering - beautifully decorated, clean and the rooms were a decent size. We were visiting for a festival so didn’t get to make as much of the property as we would have liked - we will definitely be back! The property was really lovely - no complaints at all!
- Peters (10/5): - Lovely cottage. Great location
- Chris (8/5): -
- Jane (6/5): -
- Antony (9/5): Cracking place! - Lovely cottage, well presented and very comfortable . Everything was clean and serviceable. We wanted to use the steam railway to go to Whitby, the station was only 5 minutes away, excellent. It's first come first served as far as parking goes. Which is in the information. We were lucky to find a nearby space, though it could have been very different.
- Paul (9/5): Lovely cottage in a great location and stayed nice and warm. - Nice cottage in a great location As property is dog friendly, it would make sense to have a mop and bucket available for little accidents. Key safe was really difficult to open.
- Jenni (10/5): -
- Rachel (8/5): - Beds comfortable.
Super location.
Well equipt house. Another bathroom.
- Steven Raw (10/5): - Excellent location - just a few minutes walk to the bustling town centre, and also just a few minutes walk to the historic castle.
The accommodation was very clean and comfortable.
Communications from the host were friendly and informative, with clear instructions for checking in and checking out. Car parking close to the property was very limited.
- Julie (9/5): O
Lovely cosy cottage. - Cottage was really cosy and in a very good location. Kitchen was very small but had everything you needed. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. Good communication from hosts. Would definitely stay again. Only down side was lack of parking. However always managed to find a space in nearby side roads.
- Paul (10/5): - Lovely position in Pickering, all parties were able to park nearby. Cottage was clean and well presented and had everything we needed for our stay. It was lovely that tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, cleaning cloths and tea towels were provided. Instructions for use of kitchen appliances, access to property, shower etc were accurate and useful.
The bedrooms and bathroom were well appointed, spotlessly clean and the double bed very comfortable. The bedding was of a high quality, as were the plentiful towels. Pleanty of storage space for clothes, nice quality shower.
The owners were excellent, communication was good and we were very happy to get into the property a little earlier than expected.

- Wendy (8/5): Good base close to amenities very good holiday - Location excellent self catering Nowhere to dry clothes no spare keys blankets in box were disgusting and we had to clean outside area and furniture ourselves dirty
- Danielle (10/5): Lovely home away from home experience. - The cottage was immaculately clean on arrival and very cosy. It was a great home away from home whilst we attended a football tournament. It was very clean with good facilities. All the furnishings were comfortable and it was nice and cosy on an evening with the family. Local to the shops which is convenient but still a really quiet and peaceful area.

- David (9/5): Castlegate Cottage - Great location, close to town centre, pubs and restaurants, good facilities, clean throughout, comfortable bed in main bedroom, good size. Good cooking facilities. Parking not great, double yellow lines both sides of road for most of its length. Only small section with parking spaces for 3 or 4 cars. On arrival on Saturday, had to park about 100 m up road near castle where there is more parking spaces.
Small tv with poor picture resolution, used to 65 inch 4k at home so hard to watch.
