Guest Reviews
- Kelly (7/5): Had a fun experience. - The staff were terrific. Enjoyed dinner though we had one person with an allergy and that information was not properly communicated and there was not much effort to address this. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Facilities were a little dated and could be more clean (shower had mold).
- Kimling (8/5): - Bath were amazing, restaurant and food was great. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Sleeping on futon is not very comfortable.
- Tomoteru (7/5): -
- Phuong-Anh (8/5): -
- Teo (4/5): - the autumn leaves are pretty and there is a nice mini waterfall along the entry way to the hotel we mixed up our booking and it did not include dinner. unfamiliar with the area, we asked for help to make dinner reservation at nearby restaurant. However, the staff turned us down flatly and said they do not help.
the hot tub was mouldy in a few places.
some offerings for breakfast that should be hot were cold.
- ALLEN (7/5): The stay was good enough. However, if in Osaka again, we would choose somewhere else. - We liked the forest view, and the provincial ambience (e.g., local vegetables for sale in the lobby). The website photos were misleading, giving the impression of a very luxurious place. It is these photos that led us to choose the place and consider the expensive room rate worth it. But in fact, the hotel is more run-down.
- Brimanti (4/5): If they could refresh the room and fix the breakfast. It could have been a fantastic place. - The employees. They are really nice and polite. They tried their best to speak english which is really appreciated. Nice amenities like face masks etc. Massage chair is a great addition. Shuttle service is also good. The room smells bad, the breakfast is not that great. The building is very old, hence the room is old. The bathroom is moldy.
- Juan Pedro (7/5): -
- Uddomvichit (10/5): - Everything was amazing, food and staff accomodation was absolutely top notch. The public open air bath was so relaxing, also equipped with a sauna and an ice cold bath. We also had the room with private open air bath and the view to the outside was amazing from the bath. Also has free shuttle to and from the closest train station (Ikeda Station) all you have to do is just make reservation with front desk. There are beautiful hikes nearby as well.
- Elbia (10/5): - I had a wonderful and relaxing stay. My boyfriend loved the noodle shop.

- Welch (6/5): Pleasant - Too far away so you have to use alot of transport.
- Sebastiaan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melissa (5/5): Ryokan Experience - Ryokan experience Booked a family room for 1 person & was charged 300¥ for the onsen fee. Stayed in the past & was charged 150¥. Doesn’t make sense when the other room I booked for as well, everyone paid that 150¥ fee.
- Cindy (9/5): Superb -
- Daria (10/5): Best ryokan! - It was an amazing ryokan! Of course, we have nothing to compare it to since it was our first experience, but it exceeded all our expectations.
1. The private bath in the room was fantastic! My boyfriend and I were absolutely thrilled with it. Plus, the view from the room was stunning.
2. The kaiseki was incredible! Every dish was unique and delicious. They were beautifully decorated for the momiji (autumn leaves) season, which was such a lovely touch.
3. The hot springs themselves were wonderful; it was such a pleasure to spend time there. They were also very understanding about my tattoo. It’s quite large and on my ribs, but they gave me two big skin-colored patches that completely covered it, so I didn’t scare anyone. :)
4. The yukatas were beautiful. And there’s a manga corner in the lobby on the first floor—perfect for some reading! :)
5. The transfer service was very convenient. We missed the 3:30 PM shuttle from Ikeda Station and could only arrive at 7:00 PM. However, I called the hotel at 4:00 PM to let them know we missed the transfer and asked if it was possible for them to pick us up at 7:00 PM instead. The staff kindly informed me that the transport would be waiting for us at the designated time at Ikeda Station. And that’s exactly what happened—everything went smoothly and was very convenient. This is not a complaint, just a small regret that there are no private hot springs available for booking for two, but this is compensated by the private bath in the room. It’s also a shame that we weren’t able to get a room where the kaiseki dinner would be served in the room instead of the restaurant. But that’s our fault; we didn’t manage to book that in time.
- Kristiina (10/5): - Good Onsen in the mountainous part of North Osaka, excellent food and nice bath, complete with winter sakura blossoming at the outdoor pool. Only 10min walk from a wonderful temple with rare Buddhist art and autumn foliage. Transportation with a hotel shuttle from the Ikeda town, which has interesting Rakugo Museum with English videos and old castle ruins, close to Minoh Expo park.
- Kei Ha (6/5): -
- Abbie (8/5): We appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the relaxing atmosphere - Beautiful location right next to a little river with waterfalls and views of the mountains nearby. We had a private open air bath on the patio, which we loved, and the staff was wonderful and were able to communicate well in English. There is also a wide variety of Japanese style foods available at the breakfast buffet. Very relaxing experience Instead of beds, this facility is a traditional inn where you sleep on mats on the floor, which is fun but can be a little uncomfortable if you’re accustomed to western style beds.
- Potokovic (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dora (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and the view from our room was amazing. We didn't end up getting to use a lot of the hotel's amenities, including the open-air bath in our room, but we loved the quiet location of the hotel.
- Derrick (7/5): It was okay - I liked having a private open air bath with the view of the mountains and the sounds from the river nearby. All the rooms faced the mountain from what I could tell. Location wasn't close to other areas and required an uber or hotel shuttle to get to public transportation. Wish they had other private onsens to try. The rooms on the inside looked like a ryokan for the most part with the tatami mats and the bath. The outside looked like a modern hotel instead of a ryokan. I was expecting the full experience. I've stayed at a ryokan in Nagano where the had multiple public and private onsens. Me and my best friend could walk through the town.
- Maud (6/5): A bit disappointing - Onsen was great
Breakfast good
Nice swimming pool Dinner was not available
No restaurants in the area
High price without the “feeling and treatment of a ryokan” which is supposed to be something special.
The hotel was meant for conferences and big groups. So not inclusive or special.
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Marianne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jon (9/5): Superb -
- Jeannette (10/5): Wonderful - The location next to the temple and shrines and the village was beautiful. Easy to access the bus. I cannot think of anything
- Russell (8/5): - Osen was great!
Bathroom was small.
- Kim (5/5): I will not come next time. It is not value for money - Nice and quiet Ordered room service for dinner. We were disappointed at the food served. The tempura prawn and vege was thrown into the udon soup whereas the beef curry only have 5 small pieces of meat. Furthermore we were not advised beforehand that the hotel breakfast ends at 10am. In short we were not given enough time to finish our breakfast.
- Allison (10/5): Exceptional -
- jongseok (10/5): - 아주 좋어요
- Keelan (10/5): Super Enjoyable and do not regret staying - Onsen was great. A lot of amenities provided. Staff was very friendly and did their best despite language barrier Pillow was not my preference. Elevator is very small can fit max about 3-4 people without luggage.
- Xin (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (9/5): Superb - The hot springs ♨️
- Valentin (9/5): Superb -
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good - Property is beautiful and the tatami rooms are really cool to be able to experience. The small noodle shop downstairs has good food and the gentleman working there was very kind - the staff overall were great. Our room had a rotemburo and was a really fun experience - also a great alternative to public hot springs if you have tattoos. The breakfast buffet was amazing - the curry they served was so so good. Overall a fun experience and would love to be stay here again for more than just one night. The only thing to mention is in regards to the shuttle bus - on their website the shuttle bus has listed times to/from Ikeda Station, and Booking reviews mentions the shuttle bus/timetable but nothing more. To use the shuttle (coming or going) you need to speak with the staff and set up the the pickup/drop off from Ikeda Station. From their website, and Booking reviews, there is no indication of this. It perfect sense for it to work like this; however, if you have a timetable for the bus it makes it seem like it's a constant thing and you don't need to book it. The stop for the shuttle bus a little hard to find as well. When you're the bus pickup area of the station, keep going farther down than you think you need to and you'll find the stop by a large bike parking area with a bench.
This is not a complaint about the shuttle bus service - we used it the day we left to get back to Ikeda Station and it was a quick, pleasant bus ride - but a heads up to anyone who may be interested in the shuttle bus that you need to contact the ryokan beforehand to set that up because that is not made clear, or even implied, anywhere on their website or Booking reviews.
- Alec (7/5): Good -
- Rujinan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (10/5): Nice place to stay to experience a traditional onsen - It was charming - we picked traditional Japanese rooms. We loved the helpful staff, the onsen and the dinner was amazing. We got lots of help cooking it! Quite dated and tired. Location is not great for transport although the shuttle bus is good - more scheduled times would be helpful. There is nothing else around except the hotel/onsen. And nothing much else to do in the hotel except the onsen.
- Po Shan (10/5): - Good for families with kids
- Leachelle (9/5): Superb -
- Meiling (8/5): It’s a good onsen hotel - Helpful staff, good food and nice onsen.
- Ryan (10/5): I only stayed one night but I should have stayed longer. - Breakfast was good. Nothing over the top.
- Lukas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (5/5): Passable -
- Tin (9/5): Superb -
- Melissa (9/5): Good Experience - Beautiful scenery, lots of breakfast options, private onsen, lots of amenities, family room was huge. Pool wasn’t opened.
- Christine (10/5): Value for money and great hotel for onsen and relaxation. - Excellent public path with three open bath and 2 indoor bath plus sauna and cold pool. Very relaxing and great breakfast. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Shuttle bus is convenient to and from the train station where we can go out day time to Osaka city. Limited Englist staff.
- Tong (8/5): Staying at a ryokan is an experience everyone should do if they ever have the chance. - Excellent service and facilities! Staff was super nice and even sent a goodbye message to the guests in the shuttle back to the station. Despite the ryokan being very tidy and clean-looking, I saw a cockroach in the hall and a centipede in our room.
- Ben (8/5): Very good -
- Mitchell (9/5): Relaxing, enjoyable, quiet - Staff were very friendly and hot springs were not very busy and enjoyable. I know little Japanese so the staff being able to help guide and direct in English really helped us a ton. We were expecting a different outdoor bath based on the pictures provided on the website.
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Terry (8/5): Very good -
- Kane (8/5): Nice and cheap getaway. - Family friendly Facilities were older. Rushed to leave after meals.
- Timothy (10/5): Exceptional - Beatuiful scenery. We booked a room with private bath, which was open to the beautiful mountainous nature.
The staff were the best and most kind I've ever experienced. And the breakfast was so good. I haven't felt more at peace. 11/10 for me, will most likely visit this Ryokan again just for the wonderful time I had there. The room was exceptional also.
If you have the chance, I won't recommend missing it :)
- Patsy (8/5): great experience to try for traditional onsen resort. - great traditional Radon onsen. property is old but still clean in room and bathroom many public areas are run down with sim lightenings
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Vicky (6/5): it was an okay property. I will likely not stay here again due to the old building. - I like the natural onsen of the property. We were booked in a smoking room. It had a smell that I had to ask for air freshener. the building was too old as well.
- Kaarthick (8/5): Comfortably located near Osaka. Can stay for a night. - The rooms were super clean and comfortable. We had a nice view of the mountain from the balcony and private bath. The water was hot enough and we enjoyed it. You need to take a train to ikeda from Osaka umeda. Their shuttle bus stop is hard to locate and it is not mentioned anywhere in the details. After reaching ikeda, go to the bus terminal and there is a sign board that says it is the pick up point. The breakfast in the morning was good with limited vegetarian options. We had booked for an open air private bath but the hotel gave us a closed one. Upon asking at the reception they said there are no rooms available. I didn't get to stay in the room I paid for. So I am disappointed with that.. Also the shuttle bus pick up point is not mentioned anywhere in the hotel description so it was painful to locate. The bus doesn't come on time due to traffic conditions. Because of this we our check in got delayed by half an hour.
- Stacey (9/5): Very relaxing - Beautiful onsens, delicious breakfast, and wonderful service. Couldn’t get dinner because of a COVID issue, but that couldn’t be helped.
- Cindy (8/5): relaxing and would be great with better food choice - great service and clean big room Food - buffet breakfast and no change of menu which makes it real boring. dinner - service was great but food was so so only. Tempura were so miserable and cold. sashimi really bite size and not as fresh as I would like. No menu and one need to figure out what we are eating. one night had dinner served in the room (extra cost) and there is a menu…but no menu for dinner served in restaurants.
- Albert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yurike (10/5): Great experience and will definitely come back! - It’s very traditional, aesthetically pleasing, the hot springs are very comfortable and the staffs are very polite and friendly! Their breakfast and kaiseki are really delicious!
- Tsz (8/5): Very good - nice stay & great onsen
- Senali (7/5): Good -
- Nancy (10/5): Relaxing and enjoyable. - I liked the atmosphere of the spa, it was very beautiful outside with the Sakura blossoms. The food was also fresh and tasty at the saiaitei restaurant.
- Olivier (4/5): Disappointing - they give you plasters if you have tattoos to use the shared bath, room look traditional. staffs are really nice. very old hotel stuck in the 70’s. this is a massive hotel, not a small traditional osen.
- Fahad (10/5): the place located in country side , but it worth it due to less people going there and the proce value are amazing - everything is amazing none
- Pippa (6/5): A really great traditional experience. - traditional style of room and Onsen, felt like I was back in the 70s Japan!!!
set menu was amazing.
Onsen was beautiful
lots Japanese tourists made it feel very traditional quite old, dirty carpets in corridors etc.
- Angelito (8/5): - Good Onsen.
- Roopesh (8/5): Very good -
- Lalida (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (9/5): Our 2nd stay at this ryokan. We will be back!! - Love the onsen facility and hospitality of the ryokan staff. They try their best to make us feel at home and comfortable. The upholstery of the chairs in our room were stained. It would be great if they can be shampooed clean or replaced. But overall, our stay was pleasant.
- Bich (8/5): nice and relaxing stay. I got what I came for - a relaxation day - this place is like a hidden gem. it’s more known amongst locals the building is dated and could use some upgrade and repair.
- T (10/5): Exceptional -
