Judy (10/5): Charming Cortona - Firstly, Cortona is a beautiful hill top town with fantastic restaurants. This apartment is very large which we really enjoyed after 5 weeks of travel. It is beautifully designed with an incredibly well stocked kitchen and has a dishwasher which is great if you want to eat in but remember all those great restaurants. The living area has 2 sofas and 3 relaxing chairs so masses of room. The bathroom has a large shower for Italy and there is also a washing machine. We felt like we were living in Cortona rather than just visiting which is a lovely feeling. Things to be aware of and definitely not negatives, its a hill top town so its steep, go figure but to get to the apartment with heavy luggage ( way too much shopping in this beautiful country) you have to deal with a few steep inclines and then a set of stairs but its worth it. Car parking is mainly paid from 8am - 8 pm. We parked near the apartment and then moved the car to a lower carpark where there was free car parking but the climb back was really, really steep, good for walking off all that great food but if you have any mobility issues be mindful. Lastly, there is a cleaning fee and a utility charge for this property, it was 50 euros for cleaning and 30 euros for utilities. We spoke to the helpful property managers about this as we weren't aware when booking through booking.com and they have asked for this to be included but booking.com have not done so. Once again, not a negative just something to be aware of and definitely book this place if you want to enjoy the joys of Cortona and wake to birdsong and bells. See things to be aware of above but its a beautiful property.
