• David (9/5): - Once again I can’t fault Newtown apartments. Rooms are always clean, with fresh bedding provided. Had a very peaceful time staying there. Facilities are great. An unexpected fire alarm activation, but got dealt with by Tani quite quickly.

• Shobna (8/5): - A lovely accommodation, well equipped kitchen. The room was very large, bright and spacious with a huge window facing the main road. The window only has blind so once you open tye blind you have no privacy at all. So most of the time I had to put the blind down when I'm in and live in a dark room which was not nice. A netting curtain would have solve the problem. The bed was comfortable but very hard mattress. The mattress feels like brick underneath you. Maybe it's just me not used to hard mattresses. Also there is a strong smell of sweat from the mattress and pillows so strong that it made the whole room smell. I had to keep leaving the window open to get fresh air. A table in the room would have helped, there is nowhere to put things, so had to use the window seal as table. I am not very keen on staying in places where you have to share bathroom but here there was no problem at all. All other guests respect everyone's space and bathroom was always available whenever I needed it. The shower head needs changing, the water pressure from that shower head is just so weak. Free secure parking at the back with cameras all around. I didn't meet the landlord until the day I was leaving but communication has been swift. Check in very easy, just collect the keys from the downstairs kebab shop. All instructions was sent to me prior my arrival on booking.com. By the way, that kebab shop sells the most delicious kebab I have ever tried. So give it a try when staying there. They even helped me take my heavy suitcase upstairs. Overall, it's a really nice place to stay, a newly refurbished building with everything provided to make your stay comfortable. And yes, I will stay again if I'm in the area.

• David (9/5): Peaceful & quiet. - Having stayed here on several occasions now, the rooms are always spotless. Bedding is always fresh on. Facilities in the kitchen are excellent, plenty of pots & pans, cutlery etc. There was nothing I didn’t like about the place,however if the owners would consider adding a tumble dryer( if it’s possibly), then I personally think that would be an additional reason for more people to choose this property.

• Chris (6/5): Not a great experience .... shower unacceptable. - Large kitchen with most of the required utensils. Bed very comfortable. Shower appalling. Zero shower pressure and temperature fluctuations while standing under the dribble of water. Utensils put back into cupboard dirty so had to re-wash anything before use. Filthy hairbrush left on basin of shared bathroom.

• Dr. Rehan Azim (10/5): Book it if you’re looking for a nice, clean, cozy, quiet and convenient place to stay - Excellent property Very cozy nice and clean I was initially a bit concerned about a shared bathroom but honestly had no difficulty Has a nice kitchen with all amenities more than sufficient Great location Easy to access supermarket right next to it and a fish n chips downstairs The owners were very accommodating and I had to extend my stay for one more night which they happily accepted. At night the room got a bit colder looked like the heating turned off at night. Otherwise I had a wonderful stay.

• Sam (10/5): Excellent! 10/10! - I can't fault this place at all, I've been there for the last two weeks now and am staying there again next week for work. It is extremely clean, beds are comfy, has fantastic shared kitchen facilities and the staff are really helpful, You won't find a place that is better value for money in the area, trust me, I spent hours researching!

• Charlotte (7/5): A clean place but not totally convenient - Het was schoon, de keuken is ruim en redelijk goed uitgerust, de verhuurder is vriendelijk en goed bereikbaar, er is een wasmachine, de TV op onze kamer werkte goed.en de locatie is goed bereikbaar. -Er zijn 4 kamers die samen 1 badkamer deelden. Helaas was er alleen een toilet in die badkamer. Dus regelmatig was er geruime tijd geen mogelijkheid om naar het toilet te gaan. Vooral in de ochtend. -Het balkon (waar gasten de was op hangen en waar de asbak stond waardoor daar rokers bij elkaar kwamen) was bereikbaar vanuit de gang maar het balkon zelf lag voor de ramen van onze kamer (room 1). We hebben dus regelmatig met de gordijnen en ramen dicht gezeten om de rook buiten te houden of om wat privacy te hebben. -Het delen van keuken/ koelkast had helaas het gevolg dat meerdere van onze biertjes, en ook andere producten miraculeus verdwenen.
• Kingdon (7/5): - It was clean and good value for money. Close enough for us to ride into Edinburgh to visit family and not get stung by festival high prices. Kitchen and bathroom were clean and spacious. Room was comfortable. Having a co-op on the doorstep was handy. Kitchen had a washing machine too, always a bonus when touring. The bathroom and kitchen are shared with 3 other rooms. Not a problem in the kitchen, but when you're busting for a wee and someone is doing there morning shower thing it's awkward. But we coped, overall the positives outweighed the negatives.

• Eliza (5/5): Passable - Big bedroom, clean, comfy bed. close distance to the petrol station, shop and takeaways. Nice, quiet area. Kitchen appliances for guests as in the description. 1 table and 4 chairs only in the kitchen, when every guest wants to eat breakfast at the same time there is no table and no chairs for everyone. We had to eat in the room on the bed, as in bedrooms no table as well. We've had 1 towel per person only. Toilet and shower in the same bathroom, Not possible to use the toilet when someone takes a shower. 1 bathroom for 4 bedrooms.

• Mark (7/5): Well-maintained, and good value. - The property was spotless, and was a very practical choice for my purpose. The kitchen was well-equipped, and with a small supermarket next door and a good take-away below it was convenient. I had a problem with the key box but the owner was very helpful and quickly arranged a solution. (My problem was not reading the numbers, but this would be challenging for someone with poor eyesight, even if they knelt on the ground, as there is no colour contrast between wheel and numbers) The bed was rather firm, but others may prefer it that way. It did feel a bit soul-less, but that didn't really matter. It was a good practical choice at a good price. If it was busy there might have been a queue for the bathroom, but that didn't arise.

• Mark (10/5): All in all, i loved the property and the location. - I had the whole apartment to myself with a rooftop terrace where nobody could see you if you were sat down. The property was exceptionally clean and the bed was outstanding. Prior knowledge that the property was used for contractors during the week would have been useful. I had to ask why the cupboards and fridges were full of food. However it was okay when explained.

• Brenda (9/5): Newtown Apartments - The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Good bathroom and kitchen and sun terrace. Local facilities right on your doorstep. If I had read the description properly and seen that I would be sharing the kitchen and bathroom, I probably wouldn't have booked. Because I was a female traveller on my own, sharing the space with 4 workmen who stay regularly was a bit unnerving for me but they were very pleasant and there were no problems.

• Steven (7/5): Newtown apartments - Good size bedroom, great kitchen facilities. Very little soundproofing in the property. Could hear the other residents phone calls and TV's throughout the evening. Slamming doors from other rooms seemed to bang all through the night. Soft close doors would prevent this although it was more of an issue with the residents and not reflective on the property itself.

Huge kitchen with all the necessities The location is not optimal, there are almost no views from windows. The pillows were a bit old and not very comfy

The shower and toilet are shared by all the guests, everything is very clean and the shower cabin is very large - it was very comfortable to take a shower. Despite the fact that the bathroom is shared, but I have never stood in line :)
