- Erwin (7/5): - Great food, lovely family ! Needs some maintenance and snorkeling equipment.
- Philip (10/5): - Absolute paradise! The little huts are places on stilts in the crystal clear water. The homestay features an amazing coral reef with plenty of fish and turtles. Food is basic but local and fresh and filling.

- Marius (8/5): Would visit again ! - Incredibly charming location, small stilt "village" connected to a limestone island. Sunrises are amazing, food is great. Decent snorkling right off the pier, several locations nearby for shorter day/halfday trips. Electricity at night (read: fan)
Friendly family. This goes for just about all of Raja Ampat: fresh water can be scarce, less variety of food items compared to other places in indonesia, transport to and from nearest ferry terminal is a bit exposed (speed boat open to rain / wind). The resident dogs can be a little annoying during the meals.
- Anna (8/5): - Virkelig fantastisk house reef!
- alejandro (9/5): our experience at this place was fantastic - We really enjoyed our stay at Yerbainus. It is a calm place with wonderful and helpful staff. The place has a lot of charm and is beautifully decorated. The area also has plenty of coral right outside, which makes for amazing snorkeling. The food was incredibly tasty. None

- Chris (10/5): - It wasn’t the typical beach huts that all look the same. I actually felt like I was staying on someone’s property.
- Hannah (9/5): A beautifully authentic experience with a kind family. Great food, AMAZING snorkelling. - Its authenticity and location were unrivalled. The host family are so kind, despite the language barrier, and provide all they can to make the stay enjoyable. Toilet facilities are simple, but that is to be expected in this type of homestay.
- Guillaume (10/5): Lovely place in Raja Ampat… - The complete spirit of this homestay is really nice, bungalow are simple but cosy, the family is cooking really good lunch and dinner, and the family is lovely even if translator is required. Nothing to complain, the lavatory area is planned to be refreshed which would make the homestay perfect.
- Ziggy (9/5): Beautiful family hosts - Beautiful family hosts, not much English spoken but we had a lovely conversation through Google translate. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the food was good. Snorkelling out the front of the homes was stunning and off the pier you can see lots of fish and starfish underneath which is very calming to watch. No fins and snorkels at the property. I had to hire from Tarzan Diving which is only accessible short by boat.
- Deolinda (7/5): Good - Yenbainus location is stunning, it has an amazing reef full of life, the beauty is unmatched. The staff is friendly even tough they don’t speak English. Food is very decent super highlight for the breakfast pancakes. Don’t forget to bring snacks to eat between meals there is no food available and after diving, snorkeling or swimming your body will need them. Cleaning is not on point in the rooms and they don’t service it during your stay. the shared bathroom situation is not for the faint of heart, very difficult to manage because it’s not cleaned as frequently as it should be. I brought some cleaning wet towels with me and did it myself everytime I needed to use the facilities. We booked with the homestay to pick us up at the Waisai port and they didn’t show up. Didn’t pick up the phone, didn’t answer texts and when we got there no word about it, not even to make an excuse. We had to manage after 12h traveling how to get there.
- Beata (10/5): Authentic experience - Oh was so beautiful with seashell decorations around all the place. Food was really good, served on cuty plates very tasty and big portions. But the best was family. Extremely friendly, smiley, giving you real experience how is to live here, on water. Felt like fairy tales. Looooove it! Would love to go back😍
- Giulia (8/5): Very good - Like all RA homestays the facilities are v basic, but overall this is a fantastic location and the food is exceptional and plentiful, which is v different to stories we heard about some other homestays.. Also a good base if you are diving at Tarzan but want to be somewhere quieter. Its about a 10 min boat ride away. Roofs on the huts need a bit of repair as the rain was starting to get in during storms.
- Damdee (8/5): Very good -
- Marianna (7/5): Good - The starfish under the bungalows! And the reef in the end of the jetty. The food was also delicious! The bathroom was rather repulsive, the dustbin where you had to throw your water was also full with water, they didn’t clean it regularly.
Also, I booked a snorkeling with them whoch was rather a disappointment. First of all, they didn’t bring a ladder to get back to the boat, second some people came on the trip from the family to Pieynamo which made me feel that I’m paying for their own sightseeing and not mine. Also, they missed some important snorkeling spots on the route.
- Kunal (1/5): Not at all friendly staff, there should be some sort of communication - Worst staff ever would recommend not to go at all
- Andrey (9/5): all is well - We have stayed in this home stay 4 days. We are very glad to get acquainted with this family.
Every day we had the abundant food but to tell the truth we didn’t have afternoon snack although it was in the other home stays.
The room was comfortable and the hotel was beautifully decorated. Everything was made by the hands of hostess . All were purely and goodly.
The father of the family Melke always without fail accompanied us with boat. With him was very interesting to do snorkeling because he knew the good places and helped to pick us up during a strong current. My husband often went with him for fishing. The daughters were always attentive to our wishes. Even the little son went with us to village showing the way through the mountains.
Andrey&Lena serve an afternoon snack
- Roos (9/5): Superb - Beautiful bungalows at an incredible location. Snorkeling around the homestay we saw many sharks and turtles! For diving, the homestay is close to Tarzan Dive Center so it was super accessible. The food was delicious and the staff was very helpful, we very much enjoyed our stay! Very irregular running water but I think that’s not the fault of the homestay.
- Scott (8/5): A little slice of authentic island paradise. - Authentic island living, beautiful and peaceful. Tranquil setting and delicious food. The family who owns the place are accommodating and very kind.
- Nicole (10/5): amazing days in paradise! - our stay in yenbainus was amazing. the reef infront of the homestay is wonderful - so many fishes and corals directly infront of the room. every house has a own shower outside. thats so good after snorkeling. a lot of details and really good food and very friendly family . :) we would recommend this homestay so much! its a paradise…..
- Helena (8/5): Very good - Lovely people, nice food. Location awesome. Good for the adventurous. They don't really have anywhere to put their rubbish.
- Mirjam (9/5): Picture perfect bungalows, relaxed stay, good food and mattress - Picture perfect bungalows (beautifully decorated with shells), smiling owners, delicious food, good mattress, lovely communal area, privately located but close to a dive center and small village (by boat). Even WIFI after 18.00, when available. The toilet was really okay (for me) but could be improved. The family has plans to improve.
- Asli (5/5): Passable - Only 1 toilet sharing with everyone and it wasn’t clean & hygienic. The beds were smelly
- Mackenzie (8/5): a truely unique experience in over water bungalows, eating delicious fresh fish everyday! - The location and privacy of the few bungalows is what makes Yenbainus special, it really is a beautiful as the pictures and great to be able to jump into the clear water from your room, you can walk to the village at low tide and visit the beaches surrounding, the food was really tasty and the family made us lunch boxes for our days when we were diving, there is a good house reef so BYO snorkeling gear, the family showed us a cous cous up in a tree and we’re always smiling and tried to help us when we asked even with the language barrier. we had to wait for an hour or so to be picked up from the ferry, “StayRajaAmpat” luckily hang around at the tourist centre to make sure everyone gets to their home stays. the family speak little to no English so organising day trips and transfers was quite difficult, learning some Bahasa would assist in communication or organising trips through a diving company that speaks English (we went with Tarzan who were amazing!) the facilities are fairly basic but that’s consistent with most home stays with no hot water and manual flush toilets, as the rooms are over the water with no fan or AC it does get fairly humid and difficult for clothes to dry, it was a little more more expensive than other home stays - you’re paying for the location and beauty of the homestay rather than facilities
- Craig (8/5): I had a great time, other guests were fun and the staff were friendly and helpful. - Amazing location, simple food and accommodation. It works if you are looking for that style. Of course meals could have been more interesting, but its a basic kitchen and isolated from shopping areas.
- Steve (1/5): This was shocking and booking.com needs to have some sort of process of quality prior to listing places on this site - This was a shocking experience - once there you were isolated completely - no tours - no English - one morning we were served a loaf of bread for breakfast - this homestay has only just started up after covid and the organisation was absolutely lousy - we left early by luck! Nothing - it was shocking - run down - just a sheet on a mattress slept on by others that has no sanitary process
- Svetlana (10/5): Very cute homestay - Very sweet family and very tasty food 3 times a day. The wild life around homestay is amazing. We loved snorkeling aroun. There are lots of nice corals and different kinds of fish. There is also a small village near by and a shop where you can buy some basic supplies. The family can help to organize a boat to see near by islands. Diving center is also close by. We went bird watching and saw some pretty birds of paradise. We stayed at Yenbainus for 4 nights and really enjoyed our time there. The place is very cute and the family was very welcoming. We liked everything.
- Lorraine (6/5): Beautiful location. Good food. - The location of the homestay and the little decorative touches on the chalets made with shells and driftwood.
Family was friendly.
Food was good.
Loved my little terrace. Not enough toilet / shower facilities for the number of people staying there.
Unable to organize a guide to see Birds of Paradise, which is a highlight on Gam.
- Michael (8/5): Very good - T⁹he stilt building in the turquoise water is simple but cozy. The house reef offers good opportunities for snorkeling. Breakfast is simple, lunch and dinner are plentiful and excellent. Highly Recommended.
- Qin (10/5): Wonderful and happy place to stay! - Beautiful water house with great view and wonderful coral spot for snorkeling, especially you could see sea cow passing by if you jump into the water at right time. The owner is really a good cook! Separated but still very close to the village…almost everything is great.
- Patrick (6/5): Would not book again - Beatiful view
Very good food We waited almost 2 hours for our pickup in waisai.
As we got picked up we did not even got a sorry or anything else. Instead they went to the market with us, so we waited even longer and arrived in the dark and several hours later than supposed.
After the arrival no one explained us at which time breakfast, lunch and dinner are. Or any other information. Luckily there were other guest who explained it to us.
We had to move out of our bungalow for the last night, cause the was a double booking and the new arrived guets did not want to habe the smaller room. So we packed our stuff for oke night and moved. But we did not habe to pay for the transit to anither island as compensation.
Big language barrier
- Matteo (9/5): Absolutely recommended - The place is marvelous.
The room were spacious and fairly comfortable.
The family was extremely welcoming and accommodating and they did their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
They offer small snorkeling tours that are very cheap compare to other places we stayed and they are really close to Tarzan diving if you wanna organize diving tours.
If you are interested in seeing flying foxes there is a small island close to the property where they are flying from (ask the owner to take you there).
The food was excellent. Two giant spiders in the common toilet and a misadventure with a mouse but those are very common everywhere in raja ampat
- Roger (10/5): A real perfect homestay in the paradise of Raja Ampat - Lovely home and family overlooking the paradise of Raja Ampat - dive into an aquarium directly from the terasse of your bamboo hut.
Mama is an amazing cook and Papa brings you to best snorkeling places in the area.
To respond to other comments, the roof is fixed and there is a second very comfortable bed in the larger hut.
It was an unforgettable positive stay back to the roots in the nature.
- Luka (10/5): Beautiful overwater bungalow, lovely family and the best food in Raja Ampat! - This homestay is just stunning!! Close to a village (you can walk there) but the location of the homestay feels remote and private. The family is kind and the food was the best we had in Raja Ampat. Great snorkeling just outside the homestay. We saw reef sharks everyday and the corals are beautiful. No strong currents! The sandbottom outside the bungalow is so nice, you can take a swim without worrying about stepping on something sharp.
Like many homestays in Raja Ampat its very simple. The bungalow has one bed, one bench for storing luggage, some simple outside furniture, a line for drying clothes and a simple outside shower for rinsing after swimming. A Dive center is close by and the family can take you on snorkeling trips.
We loved this homestay and would definitaly stay here again! The mattress in the bed and the pillows were kind of worn out. But this did not have any impact on our stay at Yenbainus homestay.
- Beate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kieran (5/5): Very basic - Beautiful location, picturesque! lovely friendly family. don’t expect anything. it’s extremely basic, not even a coffee cup. uncomfortable bed, loud music in the night. There is a language barrier, luckily for us another guest spoke bahasa
- Justin (9/5): great immersion into the daily life of a local family + good all inclusive price with amazing food - - the fact that unlike other homestays, you feel like you are being invited inside a family’s home
- the incredible friendliness of the family who is very welcoming and smiling all the time
- the INCREDIBLE food that they provided. definitely the best I had in 15 days at Raja Ampat, and the quantities were amazing, unlike other homestays where you still feel hungry after eating - the mattress was not very comfortable but still better than none
- Sascha (10/5): Exceptional - It was nice and clean. The view from the rooms is amazing. The food was super delicious and the family was really kind. 100% recommended!
- Jessica (9/5): Superb - The homestay is incredibly beautiful, amazing and one of a kind location. The hosts were very kind and responsive. House reef snorkeling was very good. The only 2 minor negatives were the mattress and the leak from the roof during storms.
- Julia (10/5): Stunning location, wonderful hosts and delicious food - Stunning location. Quite area and beautiful family. Food was delicious and plentiful!
- Eicheeno (9/5): A place that can completely heal the stress of the city life👍 - There is only the sea here, but the sea is the most beautiful and rich sea that I have ever seen before.
If you go fishing, you can catch big fish, and if you go snorkeling, you can meet the perfect coral and coral fish.
When you got tired, you can spent a luxurious time reading and taking a nap.
I'll be back here again. Better bring your own shampoo and soap😁
- Tabbytail (10/5): Exceptional - The location is amazing. The people are wonderfully friendly. The room is spacious and airy. Food is fresh, plentiful and all homemade. I loved it. Food was sometimes very oily and salty. If this is a problem for you, I suggest.you mention it before you go. They send a message asking if you have any dietary needs. This is a simple homestay. we loved it, but if you want a proper shower and aircon this may not be for you. The homestay is a 45 minute boat trip from the port. Again - fine for me but be aware.
- Angus (10/5): Magical homestay on Gam - Wonderful hosts and magical homestay! Seemed a lot better and more homely than the other homestays around. Beautifuln for snorkelling and dived at the local dive shop nearby. Would 100% recommend
- Devloo (10/5): excellent hospitality, peace and calm - location and family was great nothing
- Matt (9/5): Superb - This was our first time staying in Raja Ampat and had no idea what to expect when we arrived.
The location was beautiful and the reef was stunning. Felt very remote and isolated. Just what we were after.
The food was delicious and varied, which is important when you are there for 2 weeks.
The room was nice being over the water however needed a bit of TLC and a bit tired for the price but we were informed that they had struggled during the plandemic and had works were being completed whilst we were there. Everyday a little more got repaired and eventually we had a waterproof room.
All in all it was an incredible experience and we would love to stay again! Leaky roof. Saline water supply.
- Lena (10/5): Best time ever! - I had an amazing time at yenbainus homestay the food was great the familiy super friendly and the houses are beautiful i had everything i need there. I would recommend this homestay to everyone who loves great indonesien food and deep connection with nature and the local people. The house reef is amazing you can see sharkes, nemo and lots of other fishes. In the evening sometimes dolphins come over and every morning you wake up with birds noises its dreamy! The familiy can organize trips to manta point etc.
