Guest Reviews
- Pm (7/5): offbeat location in woods - location is fantastic ( though in woods ) and good spread of breakfast . Nice small nearby treks .each cottage is very well placed in the property maintaining privacy with private bonfire .
- Kuldeep (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gbisaria (8/5): Super time with family. Location not so great. Approach road is a disaster. - The propoerty is small but well laid out offering complete privacy of the guests.
SInce we were 4 adults with a large dog, the staff was very kind to upgrade us to the top suite.
The food is exceptionally good (with touristy prices). The last 2 kms of the approach road is non existent. It is riduculous and for only very professional drivers that too in dry summer months. My guess is during rains and winters it would be very heavily risky to reach. I would not venture.
Its quite far from Simla and other tourist attractions and further down the valley. Does not have neither a good view or feel of a hill station.
- Moorty (10/5): Exceptional - The location, ambience, staff hospitality was excellent Its a little away from the main road and we had an unexpected off road experience :). The roads had recently washed away, so no fault of the hotel.
- Varun (10/5): Family trip to Shimla - The property is located in a very serene place in the midst of pine trees.
It's very natural.
Very good pictures can be taken with family. Food was also nice.
- Abhijit (10/5): Had a lovely stay. The location is serene, breathtakingly beautiful, food great and staff courteous. - Loved the location, the ambience, the artistic decor, architecture and food. The staff was courteous and helpful.
- Kapil (8/5): Good place - Modern and comfortable. Warm and clean Shared bathroom in one chalet
- Surbhi (10/5): Thank you to the staff for making our stay so comfortable and relaxing. They were particularly helpful with our 9 month - The location was beautiful. It was peaceful and relaxing. The food was delicious and the staff were exceptional.
- Jitender (10/5): Awesome peaceful stay, with awesome staff around - Location, staff is great Nothing to dislike
- Aakash (10/5): It was awsome words can’t express - Location, Infra, Service, Beauty It was the best place
- Jaison (10/5): If you are looking for a chilled out romantic stay..this is it! - The location Absolutely nothing!
- Gokul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vikas (10/5): Exceptional - Staff is very good and helpful Location
- Nisarg (10/5): Great stay go without any doubts. Great service and view is awesome. If you are looking for leisure than this place is a - Location and service There is nothing that I don't like about. Right from check in to check out experience is great. We personally love the hospitality and quick response to every need.
- Siva (7/5): Wonderful stay just outside shimla...serene location.. - In the wilderness.. peaceful and away from the bustle of the city. Food was good, though limited in choices... helpful staff and friendly management. The approach road could have been better.... there should have been more signboards for directions to the property from the main road..
- Ashish (8/5): Excellent place to stay for 2-3 days - Their ambience and quality of food Lack of activities for children
- Sehra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harsh (9/5): Superb - Woodvista Cottages, Cheog – Perfect for Relaxation in the Lap of Nature
Woodvista Cottages is an excellent choice for those seeking a serene getaway to unwind and relax. The food here is truly exceptional—delicious, fresh, and prepared with care. The staff are incredibly polite, hospitable, and always willing to assist, which adds to the overall charm of the stay.
While there aren’t many local attractions to visit nearby, the property itself is ideal for those who want to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil landscapes, it’s the perfect place to rejuvenate in the lap of nature.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for peace, quiet, and exceptional hospitality. A true retreat!
- Baneet (9/5): The stay was good, I will definitely want to visit again - The property is quite beautiful, the cottages are clean and cozy. Staff and Vikas (Property manager) is quite helpful The food was average and pricy, the breakfast menu can have more options. The cab arrangement is an issue, as they have a union here and they all just want to loot you as everyone has their cut.
- Akshay (8/5): Very good -
- Ann (8/5): Lovely Retreat - Great place, good for a complete getaway. Lovely scenery and a beautiful property. Somewhat out of the way if you are looking to be nearer Shimla.
- Manpreet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dr (10/5): Exceptional - Looks beautiful We had wonderful stay
- Sreekumar (9/5): Superb -
- Priyanka (10/5): Fabulous!!! - Great location...away from hustle bustle of any city...in nature's lap...serene and calm with great mountain views...just the kind of staycation I wanted...property is also very well maintained and the service staff is extremely sweet and polite. Food quality and quantity were both good. Very peaceful time spent... Nothing
- Ashvini (8/5): Very good -
- Manish (9/5): comfortable and serene - Well laid breakfast, tasty and sumptuous. Weed around the property.
- Jaspreet (9/5): Superb -
- Navdeep (9/5): Superb -
- Sheryn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Manav (9/5): Superb -
- Ashesh (8/5): Very good - Excellent cottages, food and staff. Scenic location. The last 2 km approach road is very bumpy. We were expecting it as it was mentioned in the website.
- Gurtej (10/5): Exceptional -
- Omar (10/5): Peaceful and amazing location. Had a wonderful stay, wish we had stayed longer. The staff were amazing and extremely kin - The property was located in an amazing location, it was very prestine and in a prime location with lots of peace and serenity. The staff greeted us as we arrived, they took excellent care of us during our stay. Mr. Vikaas was amazing and so were the rest of the staff. Very kind, courteous and always wanting to help. I was slightly not well and they took very good care of me. The food was amazing! They took pride in making delicious dishes all on site. Nothing…
- Sandeep (10/5): It was wonderful - Best location, Peaceful Location, Hospitality.
- Nischal (9/5): Amazing place to stay - It’s in a beautiful location and the wood cottages are planned very well. Very secluded place away from the hustle bustle of city Nothing much actually. Breakfast options need improvements and staff need to answer phones.
- Billa (10/5): Great location, great food, great staff, great rooms... reachability is a problem though. - The over-all experience was really amazing.
The rooms are exactly as you see in the pictures neat and clean.
The staff is so friendly and helping.
The food is a bit on expensive side...but it will be worth it, the quality and quantity you get is good.
The view from the room is just beautiful, the place is serene and peaceful.
If you are looking for a place where you want to have some ME time in peace then this is the place to go.
The staff have arranged for a birthday decoration, cake and candle light dinner on request which is great. The reachability of the place is difficult, you need to have a cab everytime you go in and out of the property which will cost you a lot if you don't go by your own vehicle.
The road to the resort is also not good almost 2km of kacha road which seemed somewhat dangerous to me...I think they should work on that part.
And all the items on menu may not be available and if you have any special requests for food and drinks you need to tell them before hand,if not could not be arranged or will be arranged at a cost coz the property is very far from the shimla city around 24-25km.
- Ankur (9/5): Superb -
- Adi (8/5): Very good -
- Pankaj (10/5): Amazing property and staff, had a nice stay. Will come again. - Amazing property, quiet place. Excellent and proffessional staff Approach road
- Anish (10/5): Wonderful and relaxing - The location and the service provided was excellent. Mr Vikas and his team were exceptional and very attentive with every needs fulfilled. For people who are not very cold tolerant, the rooms could have been more insulated especially the bathrooms which were very cold.
- Saurabh (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (10/5): Staff were excellent courteous and very professional - Breakfast came in good variety We were happy with all services
- Parida (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mukul (9/5): Calm and Serene - Very serene and calm place in the middle of the forest. You can only hear the chirping birds all day long, great place to relax and unwind. Very helpful and polite staff. They are making a games room for guests which will be helpful but it would be great if they can also add a small play area with swings/ seesaws etc for younger kids so that the adults can have their peace! The road to the place is long and bumpy. You have to take a 6km single lane road that is frequently blocked due to traffic.
- Mukul (9/5): Calm and Serene - The serenity and calmness of the place took you to the different world! Located in the forest, you can hear the melodious chirping of birds all day long. You can take short treks around the property. The staff is polite and takes good care of you. The approach to the property is bit bumpy, you have to take a 6km road down from the main road which can be blocked by oncoming traffic but that’s the price that you pay for staying in a seeem place like this
- Deepan (9/5): Amazing leisurely stay amidst nature. - Liked the location of the property, it has spectacular views, nice, small trails in and around, and great food. The approach road to the property is slightly tricky. It’s a bit of an of road journey.
- Pranav (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yuvraj (9/5): Superb -
- Monalisa (9/5): Excellent - the service was very good. - Very good would have liked a little more variety across 4 days
- Anil (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location and amazing staff
- Nayan (10/5): Mesmerizing - The location the view the villas and especially the food and the behaviour of the staffs. I would definitely visit here whenever i am in Shimla
- Furquan (9/5): Superb -
- Amborish (9/5): Beautiful property, amazing food and courteous staff. - This place is exceptional. The architecture is mesmerising and landscaping is done meticulously. Warm, cozy interiors with a talented chef churning out amazing dishes and view to match. Bonfire setting with picture perfect backdrop. Would definitely try and plan again. Last 3-4 km stretch to the resort could be better built.
- Vikrant (10/5): Great mountain view with apple orchards - Ambience and surroundings were astounding and living in Chantel was one of its kind experience.
Hospitality of the Property Manager Mr. Vikas Sharma is at another level, he is really helpful and had guided us very well during our stay. Last 2 KMs is a rough ride, it is better to consult the manager before taking the rough road as Google map sometimes suggest a shorter route where no car/suv can drive and can lead to accidents.
- Amanpreet (9/5): Superb -
- Pardeep (7/5): Average as it’s so far from centre - peaceful Shows wrong kms on booking.com
- Jithu (10/5): Amazing place to spend your winter break - The architecture of the buildings and hospitality of the staff
- Prathima (7/5): Good -
- Ajith (9/5): Superb -
- Vishal (10/5): Exceptional -

- Kirsty (9/5): Perfect if you love nature and beautiful scenery - Amazing scenery, impeccable staff very attentive. Manager super helpful with everything we needed. lovely dogs too! Nothing
- Shahanas (10/5): Exceptional - each and everything about the property was beautiful except the tariff
- Gurdeep (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mudit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vinay (10/5): Exceptional - The wooden cottages, the staff, the view, everything was just splendid. Those travelling to shimla or beyond can make a stay here if they are fond of a quiet place and would like to stay away from the crowd. Nested amidst the forest, this is a mental and physical retreat from the city life.
P.S. Bonus! Pet parents can bring their furry friends along. Your furry friends can play along with Action, Max and Tazo (the owner’s pet dogs)
Point to note: 2 kms off-road journey to reach the property. We travelled in Hyundai Verna in first week of November 2022.
- Vivek (9/5): It was really Awesome and one of the Best Location I ever had. - Most I liked, Location was awesome and Room were pretty nice as traditional houses in Himalaya’s. Staff is too cooperative and very mush humble. The management can improve the taste of Indian cuisine much better as it’s not upto the mark.
Toiletries and Bed linens can be use of much better quality.
- Pranav (10/5): Eceptional - Location was awesome Connectivity to market
- Jamie (10/5): Lovely place hosted by lovely people. - The room was so comfortable. The chalet was a delight to stay in. Quick internet too. The people that work there are really nice people and were extremely accomodating.
Once settled, it was a lovely place to sit back, enjoy the view in peace and fully unwind.
There was a really good hike up the mountain, which was great. It is quite out the way, so just be aware that it's a relax holiday. If that's what you want, then it will nail every item on your checklist.
- Manpreet (9/5): Superb -
- Dhruv (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vivek (9/5): a must go place for everyone . I wanted to also see winters there. we went in August 2022 . missed the snowfall. may be - everything except the way to go there is 6 km down the hill off-road bumpy ride .but full of nature . food was very tasty . host Neha and Goldi was very helpful cleaning and clearing plates were bit compromised. no cleaning was done at the breakfast outdoor lounge for 4 days . breakfast was average could have been better.
- Gaurav (7/5): Stay was very good.We have good experience with WoodVista staff and the facilities. The outdoor ambiance was awesome to e - Ambiance,View There is no medical emergency as it is located in
forests area.
There was very less options in the breakfast.
- Nitin (8/5): Very good - very helpful staff. great view. flexibility to help guest to make the experience good. good menu and quality can improve.
- Connor (9/5): Calm and serene stay in the woods - the property is beautifully maintained and peaceful. the views are picturesque and our cottage was quaint and cozy. The staff was very friendly and attentive to all of our needs. The food was incredible, we loved the daal makhani and butter chicken. We would come back in a heart beat nothing
- Vivek (10/5): Exceptional -
