- Matthew (1/5): Worst hotel I have ever stayed in and more like a prison cell. Avoid at all costs - Nothing Room, bathroom, location, lack of staff presence
- Isaac (5/5): Passable -
- Tomasz (7/5): Good - Easy conect to the public transport
- Eszter (7/5): Good -
- Sara (2/5): Very poor - Room not clean, it was stinky, the bed sheets where full of stains, dust and hairs on the floor. Toilet and shower not clean and when we arrived the room they gave. Us was not ready even if they told us it was. They forgot to clean it from the past guest. Wifi is only if you pay for it.
- Qingguo (1/5): extremely horrible.even youth hostels are better than this - Dear Austria, this is a complaint about a hotel, Aparthotel Merdian. Apart from the huge odor in the toilet caused by the ventilation duct and the itchy sheets, the most terrible is that the landlord lied to me. When I first enter the room, I find the curtain is almost transparent. Even worse is that I can not charge the battery because the The socket is loose. In fact, I cannot use due to the problem. So I send messages on booking to ask for the possibility of changing room. He didn’t give me a feedback. So I call him. He told me he will come to the room to see. I believe and wait for him 50min. After 50mins, he told me Wait for one hour. So I wait him for more than 3hours. It wastes my time and good mood.he is a liar . I call him more than 10times and no one answered and No one comes. Do you know how I charge the battery now? Just like photos,I stand in the front desk. Ridiculous but it’s true.
- Khalid (1/5): Horrible - Everything was horrible, you can hear everything that the guests are doing next door and they were loud, the room was dirty with hair being everywhere on the bed and in the bathroom.
- Scott (6/5): There's a reason it's cheap - Liked:
The Price

Cleanliness
Disliked:
The other guests
Bed and furniture too big for room
- Oleksandr (7/5): Good -
- Dayna (5/5): Could have been a decent place if a few things were improved, great location though. - Was close to the bus line and train line, had a few good shops around too! Easy to find and access the apartment as well. The main light didn’t work and got no reply from the host when messaged about it, had to try use the light from the bathroom so the main room wouldn’t be pitch black. The bed itself wasn’t bad but the pillows were not good.
- Jordan (6/5): Was perfect for one night, good price. - Located close to a bus/train station. Double bed was nice too.
- Ivana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vitali (1/5): Disgusting experience - If you want to pass the time without internet this option is for you, bad and PAID internet, whenever you try to connect you are redirected to "PAY 10+ EUR for no clue how much internet" page. Stuff did not answer anything on it. Either to other my messages, that I need an invoice or is it possible to arrive 1h earlier than official check-in time- no responses at all. People smoke weeds in the toilets, don't shut up all night long.
- Mohammed (1/5): Bad - Nothing . Sleeping in the streets is better then this place Full of junkies and weird people and they live there
They fight and scream all night and run around. Don’t book this stay away 🛑
- Larissa (10/5): Exceptional - Comfy, quiet and easy, just great! Light from outside goes through the curtain
- Miljan (1/5): Bad - Avoid it even if you have no other options. The room is messy. It said on Booking that Wi-Fi was free, but it turned out you have to pay for it. The staff does not respond to messages. Across the street, there is a park where drunks and drug users gather and shout.
- Md (1/5): Bad -
- Thais (3/5): Poor - near the metro station very expensive and uncomfortable, bad bed and pillows, tiny room, bathroom with clogged drain and very small sink, difficult to wash your face or hands without letting water drip out.transparent curtains.
noise from cars and neighbors
- Rita (1/5): Bad - The room was badly lit with only a ceiling light and nothing else, the covers of the bed and the sheets were too small for the bed and to cover us. I had to sleep with my feet out because it was too short. The towels provided did not seem clean and we're clearly old. The building smelled heavily of bleacher and the bathroom was not great. The entrance to the building is a dark alley which did not make me feel safe while returning to the place. No one is ever at the reception in case you need something and the communication is only via WhatsApp.
- Bedrich (5/5): One night - Suitable for overnight stays. Close to tram stop number 18, which goes from the main train station. The bed was good. Bad cominuation to hand over the keys. SMS with information was sent only on request. A double bed was put in the single bed area, which filled almost the whole room and there was no space. Access to the bathroom and toilet was for slim people only!!! The door could only be opened a little.
- Julen (9/5): I have liked my stay here. - All was perfect. The communication with the land lord and the check in process was perfect. The place is clean. I recommend it.
- Stojkovic (3/5): Poor -
- Bukary (3/5): It was good the location but the house I saw in the picture is not what I saw when I arrived - It was clean The size of the house is small
- Jayfar (1/5): Worse than the worst , electricity shortages, workers around I couldn’t sleep , no one to discuss with about the situati - Nothing Everything
- Ryan (6/5): Great location, clean room - but too cold. - Location and clean room with self check in. It was very cold in the bed room it made me sick and had a business meeting to attend. No way to tun on the heating either and I mean it was freezing in the room. I had to go to the sauna in the local swimming pool to get a good wash and get some hear to take away the symptoms of extreme cold.
- Nichole (1/5): Bad - The first room was very dirty, and there was a lot of mold next to the bed because the bathroom flooded the bedroom. I was later moved to a slightly better room for the rest of my stay.
- Kishan (7/5): Good -
- Wu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Imon (1/5): Bad - I already mentioned, in the description says, private bathroom not it was not, it was share and dirty. And far away..
Also the wifi did not work at all.. Zero percent..
- Jennifer (4/5): Okay for the price but has potential for improvement - Very close to ubahn and was easily accessible for checkin. Loved the checkin and checkout experience In the message put the outside door pin before writing about the room pin. Just a reorder will do. Water heating was unreliable. Sometimes warm sometimes very hot with the same pressure and temperature. Nowhere to hang clothes or towel in bathroom
- Giulio (2/5): Very poor - The only pro of the structure is the location which is reasonably central and well connected, and that the host was prompt in providing me with a hairdryer after my request. The name says it all, I would say a name a guarantee. The room has ridiculously small dimensions, indicated in the ad but the photos presented in the ad do not really show the room in question. I would start by saying that the entrance door closes badly, it even scrapes with the floor in the opening, while the bathroom door in addition to closing badly is swollen and moldy from the water it receives from the shower. Let's talk about the check in, convenient since self check in except that the host had told me by phone that it would be possible to do an early check in by calling upon my arrival, I call him and he does not answer and sends a message saying that it is only possible from 2:00 pm onwards, so I had to spend about 2 hours in the Vienna rain. I would add that the assistance of the host himself is almost non-existent, you never find him at the reception and you have to insist to speak to him or to see him. There was no hair dryer, which is not possible in late September with a cold climate and constant rain, but I must say that after I told him, he brought it to me. In the room, the power sockets were dangling and detached from the wall, and the heating did not work at all. The curtain provided to cover the sunlight let a lot of light through. The word cleanliness is probably not known to the structure, given the various cobwebs on the ceiling and the dust balls near the bed. The sink was tiny and the bathroom looked like that of a cabin on a boat, unusable, so much so that when using the toilet your legs would not fit. The wifi did not work/had a low signal, 2 bars and it disconnected continuously. I would add finally that the lower wall showed signs of mold and humidity that only after taking a shower did I understand what caused them.
- Forman (8/5): Very good - Owner was very nice. Everything was fine.
- Said (10/5): Exceptional -
- Njegos (6/5): You get what you pay for - Location is great next to the U6 and 18/6 lines. Power socket ( only ) two meters high on the wall, room is basically just a bad with 30-40 cm on the side where two small chairs and table are.
Toilet and shower are 2 in 1, roughly 1sqm.
Toilet can be used only by sitting sideways since it is too close to the sink.
There is a junkie clinic nearby ( they get their daily dose there ) so many zombified narcos are around, mostly near the station and across in the small camp.
- Eva (2/5): Very poor -
- Matic (5/5): Passable -
- Ivan (7/5): Good -
- Yeni (8/5): Very nice - Close to trains station No Fan
- Molli (4/5): Disappointing -
- Lorandt (6/5): Pleasant -
- Nasir (3/5): Poor -
- Anastasia (5/5): Passable - The room was clean. Check-in was convenient, only if you received information about the location and door codes. Good location. The room strongly smelled of sewage. There was extremely little space in the room. The staff does not respond to messages through Booking, only to phone calls. We were charged extra 11 euros for parking in a private yard. I find this unfair to guests, as such a room does not justify the stated price, and free parking would be an adequate compensation.
- Bernadett (8/5): perfect for a night - perfect for a night -
- Laban (5/5): Passable -
- Anita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Waleed (1/5): bad stay - nothing everything
- Janno (5/5): Passable -
- Robert (4/5): Never again - Decent location Very small room, stinking of cigarettes.
Shower right next to toilet without any partition wall so after taking shower the entire bathroom turns into swimming pool. Very poor.
Uncomfy beds.
- Fotios (6/5): Pleasant - Small room but on a good spot, near the Metro station. Decent for a sleep or a brief overnight related to the cost. There was not a side table to the bed to leave keys, phone etc. The owner could buy a simple table for 9.90 euros the big one from IKEA or 5,99 the smaller one could help a lot. There was not a nail in the walls to hang clothes. A nail costs 0,001 euro, a decent hanger around 6 euros. There were only two sockets in the room for electric power. An electricity port (cost 2,50 euros) could do the trick for charging the phones. With just a 10-13 euro investment I could feel that the owner cared for the clients more.
- Batschasarin (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (3/5): Poor - The price only Place not clean - no facilities in the room like kettle etc
No daily cleaning
Beds not made properly
- Viktória (4/5): cheap but never again - the bed was comfortable it was so small i could move while my boyfriend was standing. he had to sit down to me to go until the bathroom.
the bathroom door was let all the showering water to the bedroom.
the ventilation system let the cigarette smell from the other rooms into our room (including weed)
- Hans (7/5): Good -
- Arkadiy (5/5): Passable -
- Teo (6/5): Its okay for the money only because of the location. - The location was great, few mins walk to bus and metro, close to some fast food restaurants and calm location.
The staff was good, but not there all the time, and not very responsive on Booking or Whatsapp messages. The bed had alot of hair which is not very good, the room overall was clean but its not noticable with the blanket on the bed but if you take it off you can obviously see alot of hair.
Its very small but for two people totally enough for some day to just sleep there.
No hairdryer, you should request it from the staff but is a question if you will get a response or not.
The WIFI was not existing at all, had to buy mobile internet there because even in the lobby was horrible but in the room it wasnt an option at all on the wifi networks available. So before your stay here make sure you get yourself good amount of internet, depends on how many days you will be there.
- Hudson (5/5): N/A - The silence N/A
- Marta (6/5): Good location and fine room, but the staff is unreachable - Good location with multiple connections via tram and U Bahn, uncomplicated self check-in, newly renovated private bathroom. The room was quite small for 2 people, and we were given only 1 set of towels and 1 (small) duvet, in spite of booking a double room. We’ve never seen anyone at the reception, and the staff didn’t pick up the phone.
- Zsisza (8/5): Good value, if you do not mind a small room for a short stay. - The hotel is in a very good location, very friendly staff. Easy to check in/out. It was a little bit loud during the night, as other guests were having some chat on the corridor.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Γαλανόπουλος (7/5): Good - Location: Very good, opposite to the U6 line (Gumpendorfer Straße Station). And very quiet despite its position on the map. Very informative and helpful personnel. Clean, generally well taken care of and very friendly. Would highly recommend, probably the best offer at this price. At least in my room, there was a lot of light coming in in the morning due to ineffective coverage of the window area, which guaranteed that I woke up much earlier than I wanted to. Secondly, you have to be careful in the shower in order not to turn the room into a pool. However, both are fairly easy to fix.
- Bernardo (3/5): A deplorable room in a grat location - Location, acces with public transport Room have no place to keep your clothes and baggage, two chairs (occupying place next to bed and a small garden table was all . No nightlamp, next the bed, when you were ready to sleep, already in bed, je moest walk to corridor to switch out a lamp hanging middle of the room. No wastebasket neither, I got one after I asked for
Bathroom has the toilet sitting not correctly installed, The shower had no place to stand, so I slipped and fell on my back
Mail adres provided to get contact with administration: 4848700651-cbsp.uf9h.c3my.wm7w@property.booking.com never worked.
Phone provided: +436767909608 was not answered most of the time, or I got message "this phone is out of service"
- Alexei (1/5): Bad - TOO SMALL. RIDICULOUS
- Bikramjeet (4/5): Average - Location Actually nothing
- Jacek (7/5): Just a place to sleep for cheap - Good location Weak WiFi (I had to work remotely), very minimalistic
- Walter (9/5): Simple and cheap place, good value for the money - Easy Check-in. The owner gave me exact instructions by a message how to enter the house and the code for the key safe which is next to the door of the room.
There is total privacy, no reception which cares if you might bring a visitor, you can come an go any time.
There is a vending machine for coffee and other drinks.
It's near a subway station. And even as it's near a busy road it's very quiet because it's in a house in the back yard. The small bathroom is the shower cabin as a whole. That's basically no problem, but as the door lock is installed the wrong way, it doesn't close properly and water flows out under it. You have to use the small towel there on the floor to catch it.
Not a really big problem.
- Wijdan (8/5): Very good -
- Edit (8/5): Very good - The location is very goood. Bus and tram are just on the corner. Bathroom.
- Fadi (1/5): Bad - The room for what I pay was not worth it at all Every thing room very small bad not comfort bathroom very same when you take shower the water leak out from the door to the room it is not comfortable at all I do not recomme to anyone only if you have too and you have no other choice
- Mainul (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mahaath (8/5): Very good -
- Nik (7/5): You should curb your expectations, you’ll be alright - The Privacy, there wasn’t any contact. To enter the property, you use a door code, the key to the room was in the lock box. There was no staff, which we liked. We were slightly late for our check-out, the guy knocked, there was no problem, he was friendly. You use this for a short stay, its okay, only for sleep and shower, there is not much else you could do, really. The location was good in my opinion Gumpfendorfer straẞe, metro station, across the road. The price ofcourse, baisically its like sleeping for free:) The drain in the shower/bathroom :D didn’t take the water, there was like a puddle after you take the shower, on the last day I told the host/staff, he seemed like he didn’t care. Anyways, it didn’t bother us too much, we laughed about it.
- Jozef (1/5): No Brain Owner - I paid my reservation for my friend.. few days later Hotel cancelled my reservation I became money back.. now they want they money back... Brain freezing logic from this hotel... 0/5.. Cheap but unprofessional.
- Raja009 (6/5): Pleasant -
- Adrian (10/5): Exceptional - The room was very clean
- Chadly (4/5): Disappointing -
- Jurák (5/5): If you pay peanuts, you get... peanuts - A modest room for an excellent price in a very good location (metro, tram and bus within 3 minutes from the hotel), accommodation in the inner block, i.e. shielded from the noise of the busy street. Some parts of the equipment beyond their useful life - the leaking faucet in the corridor was both annoying and distracting. I would have liked at least some hooks to hang clothes, in the room and by the shower as well.
- András (7/5): Good, but have small difficulties - the room was too small, and the bathroom door was horrible, i can open opnly approx to the 30%, due to the bad is lock the way
- Marco (7/5): Good -
- Sivasubramaniam (8/5): Very good - The room is very neat and clean.
The heater was working very well and hot water is available for 24/7. Toilet was clean. Nothing
- Emmie (1/5): Bad - 8 minute walk to a busy neighbourhood, but the neighbourhood was sketchy. First of all there was no sign of the hotel. No sign outside where it was so we couldnt find it for a long time. We met 2 other guests that had also been looking for the hotel. When we finally found the door there was no staff. Only a paper sign with the phone number and we all called 10 Times but no answer. No Staff for the 2 days we were there. The rooms are tiny and have a murder vibe. Very humid. The bed was gross but unexpectedly very comfortable. The walls are paper thin. Ofc i couldnt expect alot better for this price. Im happy we didnt get murdered and we are pretty sure this hotel is meant for men Who buy prostitutes, not a couple celebrating their anniversary.
- Nikolina (5/5): Passable -
- Asaad (1/5): Bad - I spent half an hour knocking on the door and no one answered me. Then I went and booked an Ibis hotel
- Ryan (4/5): Disappointing - The location and ensuite shower / toilet was good Thr size of the room was advertised at 118ft it was about half the size in the pictures used to promote it and I could not get into the shower / toilet without hurting myself on the door handle. The internet was almost nonexistent also which was a problem.
- Ryan (4/5): Disappointing - Location and ensuite shower / toilet The room was much smaller than advertised, I could not get into the shower room without hiring myself on the door handle it was not 118ft about half the size it seemed. The internet was almost nonexistent!
- Bartłomiej (6/5): Pleasant - The entrance to the hotel is from inner part of the tenement house, and that's great 'cause it wasn't loud.
Location is excellent, if u like to walk it's about 20minutes to the main part of city center with many atractions and museums, also bus is 5 minutes away from hotel, similar thing with metro. Strange thing with a heater in the room, we had 2 windows opened and still there was hot, and there's no regulation on the heater so we were sweating every night - we've been in Wien in a beginning of february
- Lukas (7/5): Good -
- Daniele (1/5): Bad -
- Ayah (5/5): Passable -
- Nejc (5/5): Its fine if you intend to stay there for a few night and use it only to sleep and shower, but thats really it. - Easy access, basically no hassle getting the key, near many stores, attractions and city center. Room is basically just a bed with really small bathroom and shower, but serviceable. It is renovated but renovated really badly, like really completely amateurish, many things not done completely, shower head basically broken and almost unusable. Bed is also quite of a low quality and really soft.
- Noemi (8/5): Very good -
- Abdallah (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ljubisavljevic (8/5): Very good -
- Yousuf (5/5): Passable - There were no checknin instructions. The host didn't reply to me after I texted him requesting the check in and check out instructions two times 24 hours before the time of check in until I arrived to the building, where I only received the instructions in the booking.com account without a clear guidance from him that he will update it soon
