- Esther (10/5): Homely, welcoming and totally delightful - Loved everything about this property! Location near the town centre, loads of cafes, bars & restaurants within easy walking distance along tree-lined streets. Posh department store just across the street. Nearby canal with crystal clear water. Characterful little apartment with lots of handy nooks, cupboards and surfaces for spreading out our belongings. Nice furniture and oldy-worldy decor. Excellent lighting, bright but still soft. Super-comfy beds. Great cooking facilities with a few handy items like salt, oil, etc. Very kind, helpful host: Roland showed us where a good local vegan restaurant was, as well as a very cheap 24-hour parking space within a 10-minute walk from the apartment, should we require it. Easy-to-control shower with strong water pressure. Nice little vestibule with a bench. Sweet little garden out the back which we unfortunately didn’t have enough time to enjoy fully. All mod cons in the apartment including good wifi. Everything worked perfectly - which is not to be taken for granted these days! No teaspoons for some reason? Shower was a little tight for getting in/out but very nice once you’re in.

- Patricia (8/5): Convenient location from station and shops, comfortable accommodation - The accommodation was satisfactory, with comfortable beds and a warm, cosy atmosphere throughout our stay. Its location was also very convenient, being just a 10-minute level walk from the station.
Unfortunately, we experienced a significant issue with a leak around the kitchen tap, which resulted in flooding on the floor when we woke up on our first morning. We contacted Roland, the owner, who responded by providing extra towels and informed us that repairs would be arranged after our departure.
Overall, while the property had its positives, the leak was a notable inconvenience during our stay. (Please see our review)

De inrichting van het appartement spreekt ons aan, een keer geen standaard Ikea inrichting maar een leuke oude tafel en gezellig servies. De ligging is goed: dichtbij het station en aan de rand van het oude centrum. De tafel in de keuken zou iets kleiner mogen zijn. Verder geen tips.

- Giulio (9/5): da ripetere volentieri - L'appartamento é piacevole, vi à anche una grande cucina con tavolo per 4. L'ambiente é molto curato, si trova in una casa a più appartamenti. È a meno di 10 minuti a piedi dalla stazione e dal centro, nei pressi vi sono bar e ristoranti.
La notte é molto silenzioso. Unica nota negativa, all'arrivo i riscaldamenti erano spenti ed essendo a pian terreno era abbastanza freddo.
La seconda notte era molto meglio.

Der Schlüsselcode ging erst nicht, wir erhielten aber gleich Unterstützung.
Da es eine Altbauwohnung ist, ziemlich ringhörig, was uns jedoch nicht gross störte.

- Virginia (9/5): Petite adorable et cozy perle au centre de Bienne - Adorable appartement dans le centre de Bienne, avec tout ce dont vous avez besoin. Super bien situé, vous pouvez aller à pied partout. Bien équipé et communication facile et fluide avec le propriétaire.
Merveilleux, nous reviendrons bientôt! Le parking est un peu loin, mais au moins le propriétaire vous en offre un ( 10 mins à pied ) qui étant dans le centre, est très apprécié.

Spacious kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Nespresso machine with dozen of Complimentary coffee capsules. Large fridge. Nice comfortable bed. Little quiet garden with a table and chairs (shared space). Very quiet area overall. Roland, the Owner of the apartment is very friendly and attentive, and lives in the same building. -

- Arent (1/5): Misleadingly advertised for four but only set up for three, with the owner pushing extra charge - We booked this apartment for two adults and two kids. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing.
Booking.com allowed us to book this apartment for four people, but when we arrived, it was clear the apartment was only set up for three people. There was one bedroom with two pillows and two blankets, and a 90 cm one person bed in the living room/kitchen/entrance area with only one pillow and one blanket. This setup is clearly not suitable for four guests.
What made it worse is that the owner started texting us in the morning, suggesting we pay an extra €20 for an additional bed, implying the apartment would otherwise be too small. We felt this was unethical and misleading, as we had already paid for four people through Booking.com. It gave us a very uncomfortable vibe throughout the day. We still hoped that advertized sofa bed would fit two kids - as many other listing offer a pulled out sofa to fit two people.
Upon arrival, we noticed that there was indeed an extra bed in the hallway, which the owner offers for an extra charge. It felt like a deliberate scheme to get additional payment from guests.
In principle, this apartment could have been a nice stay, but we felt misled. The listing advertised space for four people at a set price, but in reality, it was only comfortable for three: three pillows, three one person blankets, three places to sleep.
We also tried contacting Booking.com, but they were unable to reach the owner. Overall, this was a negative and frustrating experience, and we do not find it ethical to advertise an apartment for four people when it is clearly intended for three.
Also, wifi did not work and the dishwasher made such a horrible sound that we turned it off.

- Steven (9/5): A sunny week of boats, cable cars and mountain trains - The apartment was well equipped with all that I needed, whilst the location was superb, a couple of streets away from the city centre, but with no city centre noise. Plus it was just a 10 minute walk to the train station, which boasted a supermarket open until midnight 7 days, and fast direct trains to such as Bern and Lausanne. A nice bonus was that the host provided a Swiss electric plug adaptor, where I hadn't realised that Swiss plugs were different to elsewhere in Europe! Nothing in the apartment was particularly modern or matching, though that wasn't a problem for me, everything worked.

The host was very accommodating and tried his best to find a solution for the TV that had no remote control when I checked in. The kitchen was fully equipped and well stocked with coffee and creamers for my 4-day-stay. The only thing that was missing was a bathtub (the bathroom was too narrow for that but had a well-functioning shower).

There is a bit of a long walk to the main train station, but you can also choose a bus if you wish. Everything was in order at home, from oil, salt and sugar to the ironing board and iron. - Sergiy (9/5): Excellent - It's a fantastic, cozy under-the-roof studio in a historic building —perfect location close to the old town, walking distance to railway, port, and funicular—excellent view to mountains from a small but comfortable balcony. If you are looking for a standard hotel room but something like an artist's studio, you will find everything from location to fusion decor that mixes modern appliances with real antique goods in the same space. It could be not an optimal choice if you can't manage yourself on the old building stairs without an elevator, but luggage, even heavy, will be managed by a householder.

- Grahaem (6/5): Simple home stay in quiet street near centre - Quiet street close to centre of town, kitchen ok with microwave and fridge, so ok for a couple with a kid to stay a few days. Access at any time, with key in a key box I did not sleep well, as the nights were warm and there was no air movement, even with windows open front and back. It really needs a fan for summer. Authentic family furnishings, linen and towels, nothing has been primped for guests - no thick white towels or bedding here… Coffee machine and pods, but milk / cream would have been welcome.
