- Jacqueline (9/5): Cottage ideal for Culzean Castle - The host, George was welcoming and informative. We were provided with lots of food and toiletries. Large outside space and sitting area. The house looked over a huge lawn and wooded area, lots of birdsong. Close to Culzean Castle, Turnberry and coast. Small.

- Tolga (10/5): Very nice Scottish cottage to enjoy the quiet life of Turnberry/Maybole area and coast - Lovely place, attentive hosts and excellent selection of food left for the visitors in the room that included in the price. Can’t imagine a more authentic place to stay in this area. The beach and a castle about 1 mile walk away and it’s such a great walk to enjoy.
- CAROLINE (10/5): Perfect & tranquil. - George was a fantastic host met us on arrival & showed us where we could park, he then showed us around & explained the heating -ect. & where we could visit. The cottage was spotless & had everything you needed. The fridge was full of complementary fresh eggs, milk, cheese, yogurts, water, juice & other items were available fresh fruit, fresh bread, cereal, Pot noodles, Tea ,coffee & sugar. Also as it was our 40th anniversary George and family kindly left beautiful hand decorated cupcakes & a lovely bottle of red wine. It was such a lovely peaceful setting, beautiful garden to sit in and full of butterflies & birds to watch. We will definitely be back.
- Jamie (10/5): Perfect. Amazing hospitality - Very generous amount of food, tea and coffee in fridge which was so nice after a long day of walking. Very comfortable beds, host George is extremely kind - I would 100% recommend staying here! Everything was great - can't think of anything we didn't like. George has put a lot of thought into everything.

We were greeted by George who offered an upgrade (so appreciated!) George very knowledgeable regarding the history of the cottage, very interesting to hear. The cottage was gorgeous, wonderfully comfortable bed, brilliant wee kitchenette and so much food!!! Truly this host goes well out of his way to provide a special experience. I’m just a little sad we
didn’t have more time there. Nothing! It was the best!
- Yvonne (10/5): Beautiful wee room - The location was excellent for the golf and the room was very comfortable and clean. The beds were cozy and comfortable too which was very welcome after a day of gale force winds and rain on the course! The complimentary snacks were very generous and the little touches such as the fresh scones, pickles for the cheese and of course the tablet was so lovely to see. George and Sharon's communication was excellent and also their welcome onsite too. No complaints.
- Elizabeth (10/5): A wonderful stay in lovely cottage, with beautiful surroundings with lots to do in the area. - The cottage was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped.
The fridge was stocked with all that I needed, plus large fruit bowl and great selection of cereals. I am coelaic and a range of gluten free was provided which I greatly appreciated.
The owner made me very welcome, was very informative about the area and places to visit. He called or texted most days to check if I needed anything. I liked everything about the cottage, it is in a lovely location, not overlooked with a sunny terrace and comfortable outdoor chairs and beside a wood, the owners home is to the back of the cottage so not isolated.

- Richard (10/5): Exceeded expectations. Excellent value in this area, which is generally expensive. - Clean, quiet and comfortable. Exceptionally well provisioned and equipped, which was completely unexpected. We had booked the tiny twin room, which was advertised as only having a welcome tray with kettle, tea, coffee, milk, etc. We were shown this room and it would have been fine, but the larger, double bedded room was free, so we took that without extra cost. Friendly host. Enjoyed the walk from the back garden to the beach at Culzean before we left. Nothing
- Ngaio (10/5): Very close to Culzean castle, easy to find and excellent hosts. Would certainly stay here again. - Hosts were very friendly, helpful and thoughtful. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we could have wanted. We liked everything.

- Bridget (9/5): Superlative - The host had provided so many extra and thoughtful things: all sorts of foods: cereals, fruit, cheese bread eggs. Totally unexpected and really generous. Very nice robes and towels. Beautifully equipped kitchen..absolutely recommended for those walking or biking. So comfy and welcoming Nothing
- Peggy (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, near the beach and castle with a park. We could tell that the hosts cared about their guests and hospitality was very on their list. Many extras that we would never expect. I highly recommend this place. Wish we could have stayed longer. Nothing!
- Gavin (10/5): Well equipped. Great hosts. Would return again. -
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional - Liked everything about it. The owner gave us an extremely warm welcome. It was spotlessly clean. The selection of refreshments and snacks provided was overwhelming. Parking right outside. Private outdoor patio with table and chairs. Also loved the history of the property. We stayed here on the last night of a ten day road trip. We'd stayed in all sorts of properties from small B&Bs to rather plush hotels. But this place topped our list for the best stay of our holiday. Didn't like that we were going home and only had the opportunity to spend one night here.

Bed really comfy, spotlessly clean, fluffy towels and George was a great host, wealth of knowledge and he kindly gave us his National Trust passes to get into Culzean Castle, which is⁹ worth a visit. Not a thing

- Carol (9/5): An amazing hideaway perfect for an overnight, or longer. - Our host, George, could not have been more helpful. The accommodation is an old cottage, thoughtfully renovated with great facilities provided throughout. We were advised that George provides bread, butter, fruits etc, however the quantity and quality of what he provides is amazing and very carefully thought out. With Calzean on the doorstep and amazing walks all round, it is an absolutely fabulous place to visit and stay. There is nothing to dislike about this accommodation.
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional - Very welcoming exceptional food package left for us to have will highly recommend to family and friends 😃 Nothing to dislike
- Sally (10/5): Hidden gem with access to a beach! Very close to Culzean Castle. - Historically important, compact building with very tasteful and comfortable interior design.
A good deal of fresh fruit, cereals and milk plus scones, flapjacks, cheese and biscuits were in a mini fridge along with bottled water, 'pop' and fruit juices. I have never come across this anywhere else I have stayed. Very comfortable, cosy towelling robe and fluffy towels. Very good corner shower, extremely clean with strong water pressure. Excellent Wi-Fi and good tv . I will be visiting again! Was there 'anything I did not like* ? *Nothing* .the very thick walls made the space cosy in driving rain.
- Carolyn (10/5): Exactly what it says on the tin! - Cosy tiny room, exceptionally well-stocked.
Lovely walk behind the cottage through woodland and cornfields to the beach. Nothing - Whitestone Cottage is exactly what it says on the tin.

- D (10/5): Beautifully renovated historic property with a very pleasant proprietor. - My son and I were doing a tour of western Scotland and came across this place as it is very close to Culzean Castle (fantastic). Space was small but had everything we were looking for and more. The proprietor, George, was very friendly and seemed proud of his property. We got there a little late and were hungry so he made reservations for us at a great restaurant (possibly best food we had in Scotland). Would definitely recommend Whitestone for those looking for a base of operation. Nothing. However, turns out George is an ultramarathon runner so when he tells you something is just a short walk, be wary.😀
