- David (9/5): - Bay horse pub was excellent too
- Peter (10/5): Home from home - Beautiful bungalow in lovely quiet village. A home from home. Perfect for visiting Richmond and Barnard Castle. Nothing
- Stephen (10/5): - Well decorated. and lovely location. Hadn't realised the chippy van arrives on Mondays
- Dave (10/5): -

- Cassie (9/5): Cosy Cottage - Ideal for a short break! - Very clean and cosy. Perfect size for them both for a short stay. Everything was simple and great. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. It was very warm and welcoming! They couldn’t get the shower very warm but think this was more them not knowing how to work it (but flagging just incase there’s a small issue).
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Excellent Cottage - The property was absolutely lovely. Really good bedrooms and my children loved staying there.
Really nice and warm, and felt like a home from home whilst visiting for the nearby Polar Express in Wensleydale
- Kathryn (10/5): A wonderful cottage with all you could need for a very comfortable stay. Hope to return - Spotless, very comfortable and has everything you could need. Nothing
- Susie (10/5): Lovely little cottage, and a lovely area. Hope to visit again! - Very well equipped, clean and comfortable. A lot of thought has been put in to making it a nice place to stay. Also, lots of room for parking; my sister managed to fit her converted minibus through the double gates and into the parking space in the back garden. I struggled a little bit trying to work out how to open some of the windows, but the hosts were very responsive and if I'd contacted them for help I'm confident they would have. I didn't contact them though because the weather was quite cool and we were happy to mainly leave the windows shut!
- Panayiota (10/5): Absolutely fantastic - The welcome pack how well equipped all cupboards and spices where thought and how lovely it was to find fresh milk in the fridge so we could relax snd have a cup of tea after our long drive and bathroom well stocked with shower gels Nothing
- Sharon (10/5): Lovely lovely stay - Lovely and clean
Nice quiet relaxing location
Well thought out amenities
Good WiFi
Good private parking Nothing not to like
- Wendy (10/5): We had a great stay. We would love to go back. - The cottage was very clean and the fixtures and fittings were all good quality. We had everything we could have needed.
The cottage is in a beautiful location, close to Richmond. Ravenscroft is a lovely quiet little village with a cosy pub. There was nothing not to like.
- Justin (9/5): A wonderful cosy cottage in a stunning location. - A lovely, cosy, clean and well equipped cottage in a beautiful location. The scenery is stunning, there is a lovely pub a stones throw away and the hosts were responsive and helpful. We would 100% recommend this property. Nothing
- Mark (9/5): Lovely location and a comfortable stay. - The best equipped holiday cottage we’ve ever stayed in. Jen seems to have thought of everything.
Very comfortable and clean. Opening and closing the large gates to get the car in and out was a bit of a faff.
- Justine (10/5): A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location - It was spotlessly clean and modern. Nothing really apart from the door would have been better if the fence was around it so didn’t have to lock it every time we all went in the garden but not a major problem!
- Simon (10/5): -
- Christine (10/5): Really enjoyed our break in comfy surroundings - Location, facilities inside and out TV quite high on the wall
- Shih (10/5): Nice clean house, fits every purpose you stay here. Should stay longer. - Almost everything is great, nice village with great people and view. Good taste of decoration and furniture. Only one bathroom.
- Janice (10/5): Gem of a cottage and would not hesitate to stay again - Great cottage, comfortable, clean and very well equipped
- Anna (9/5): Superb - Beautiful cottage, well equipped, host very helpful. Local pub not open Sun night-Tues.
- John (10/5): Worth a visit - Fantastic property. Everything you need. Very relaxing after a hard days work Nothing
- Neil (10/5): Gem of a cottage in a perfect location - The location was perfect as was the cottage. It was so clean and the extras were fantastic . It was so well appointed , the beds were so comfortable and to have a choice of shower gel was certainly a first ! Nothing
- Phil (8/5): Very good - A lovely little cottage in a great, peaceful location, Jen & Chris were always available to help with any issues, we felt comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Attention to detail regarding cleanliness and maintenance, bath plug was totally clogged up with hair, sink plug was broken, shower thermostat was broken which was eventually fixed and we were kindly offered an extra night's stay for the inconvenience but these things should be checked after every stay.
- Kaya (10/5): Amazing place, beautifully thought out, attention to detail, don’t need to bring anything with you it feels like a home - Nothing it was gorgeous but the chairs felt a little unstable whilst we played a board game
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - Very well equipped cottage with lots of extras. Loved the toiletries provided. Found water temperature in shower too hot and didn’t know how to lower it!
- Jacqui (9/5): Superb -
- Ami (10/5): Exceptional -
- Md (10/5): Peaceful and quiet - I love everything about this beautiful cottage. Peaceful, private garden with lots of amenities
- Daniel (9/5): Absolute Gem - Great little cottage with everything you could think of to enjoy a break in the countryside. Real fire was a lovely touch and the location was perfect for visiting the many local villages nearby. The hosts really have thought of everything, a lot of love and care has gone into this little place. Parking was an inconvenience if you're in and out throughout the day but that is personal preference.
- Kelly (10/5): Super cosy beds, great location, lovely and warm! - This property was so lovely and cosy. In particular we loved using the log burner. It was just before Christmas when we travelled and when we arrived - late at night, the property was nice and warm. The beds were so comfortable as well.
Perfect location to the motorway, which we needed to get to the Polar Express. You can see the local pub from the living room, the food there was outstanding, would highly recommend!
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - Everything the size the beds the presentation the secure parking the cleanliness. Perfect. Wasn't anything not to like.
- Jennifer (9/5): A lovely cottage break - Ravensworth is a lovely village. There is ample car parking on the property which is a bonus. My husband has mobility issues and Ravensworth Cottage was exactly what we were looking for. On arrival we found the cottage spotlessly clean. There was milk and bottled water in the fridge with a supply of teabags, coffee and numerous extras. The kitchen was very well equipped. The bathroom had supplies of a variety of shower gels which we enjoyed using. Mainsgill farm shop is worth a visit and also The Bay Horse pub.
We would have no hesitation in staying at Ravensworth Cottage again. Thank you Jen and Chris.
- Middleton (9/5): Lovely break away - The cottage was spotless, beds extremely comfortable. Nice bedding Log burner lovely . Pretty well equipped. Good location. Nice garden area No dressing table with chair to do hair and make up. Sofa very low and a bit hard. Bath a bit slippy . No egg cups.
- Alison (10/5): Excellent - The property was exceptional, had everything you need. Comfy beds. Well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Very nicely decorated. Very near a good pub too.
- Louise (9/5): Lovely girls weekend break - Cosy cottage with nice comfy beds. Lovely village and good for walking.
Immaculately clean.
Would be great to have some printed walks for those of us not brilliant with an OS map! However we followed our noses and with the help of a couple of locals on the way we did a lovely 6 mile circular walk on Saturday and called into the shoulder of mutton at Kirby Hill for a well deserved drink and the pub was lovely and friendly....would recommend! A little too much technology for us in the kitchen but ... All instruction manuals available and we had a giggle with it all. The owners have clearly gone to a lot of expense with the kitchen appliances so it can't be faulted. It isn't a criticism at all.
- Barry (9/5): Superb - Well equipped cottage. Independant pub in village doing nice meals and good beer. Nothing
- George (8/5): The cottage was well located for us and was exceptionally well equipped for self catering. - The location in an attractive village was charming and it had private parking. It was well equipped, comfortable, quiet and had a later than normal checkout time. It has a wood burner that is nice to have in cooler weather. Nothing
- M (10/5): Would recommend it to others. - The kitchen was well stocked with equipment. Store cupboard essentials like salt, sugar, oil, were provided so didn’t have to purchase a whole load for minimal use. Milk and bottled water provided which was a lovely, welcoming gesture. The cottage was extremely comfortable and clean, and the hosts Chris & Jen were extremely welcoming, courteous and thoughtful. Would definitely stay there again, Can’t think of anything to dislike.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carole (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nic (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (9/5): Very relaxing short break in a peaceful village with a great local pub to eat & drink in - Very peaceful location & spotlessly clean with all the modern comforts Nothing
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- George (9/5): Lovely old cottage which has been modernised to a very high standard. Peaceful location. -
- Monique (10/5): It's an awesome place to stay! - Location is perfect for reaching many lovely places. We went to Whitby, Lake district, and also North Pennies. The cottage is lovely. It is very well equipped and nicely furnished. Upon arrival, we found milk and water in the fridge, tea, coffee, and biscuits in a bowl. There is a drawer full of lovely spices and also some oils for cooking. We really appreciate this as we like cooking. The hosts reply promptly to any questions. We had a great time. Hope to return soon.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (9/5): Nice cottage for a weekend -
- Barbara (10/5): Lovely cottage, great location - The cottage was beautiful and well presented. It was comfortable and lots of nice features. Jan was super helpful and easy to contact. That we had only booked 2 nights, such a lovely location.
- Kristabelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracy (10/5): Stunning cottage - Fabulous cottage. Perfect location a few doors up from the bay horse inn great food warm welcome. Ideal base.
This is a great place!! fully equipped kitchen everything you could need. Thoughtful touches milk tea coffee biscuits shower gel shampoo logs for burner. Comfy beds Lovely bedding fluffy towels. Good parking private garden Nothing
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (9/5): Superb - Very comfy beds. Very clean and well equipped. Nice garden and quiet location.
- Adam (8/5): Very good -
- Sid (10/5): I think Jen and Chris have a beautiful property nicely decorated with all mod cons( a bit too modern for a couple of pen - Very clean and quiet and relaxing I couldn’t find fault with anything
- Helen (10/5): Perfect Break!! They've thought of everything! - We liked everything!! Absolutely everything exceeded my expectations. The cottage was lovely. It was cosy and welcoming. It was decorated lovely and I wanted all of the furniture for my own home!!! I'm obsessed with clean and nice smells. The cottage was immaculate, not a speck of dust to be seen, it's one of the only times I've been away and felt comfortable using cups/plates/cutlery straight from the cupboard without washing it first. Every room smelt different and amazing, not overpowering, just perfect. There wasn't a single item I wished was there that wasn't available, every kitchen item and utensil was there, I'd packed dish cloths, kitchen roll, tin foil, spray cleaner etc - no need, everything was there. Milk in the fridge, water, few cupboard food essentials in the cupboards, sewing kit, first aid box, even a charger to fit every phone in the bedside draws!!! There were towels, toiletries, games, books, alexa, hairdryer, towels, iron, ironing board!! Honestly, I was so impressed!! They've put so much thought into everything! I usually get homesick when im away more than a night, but in all honesty, I felt like I was at home. The garden is lovely, wished it had been summer to sit out and use the bbq. The village is gorgeous. The pub has good reviews but book if you want to go as we couldn't get in. Mainsgill farmshop is close by, it's huge with loads of amaaaazing food but expensive. The pizza shop in Richmond pizza Pronto is nice. We visited Raby castle 🏰 the castle tour was good. We felt the play park was waaay overrated and not worth the money. My 7 year old done it twice in 20 mins then was bored and we had a 2 hour slot. It's Plotters forrest, read the low reviews about it on Google as they're very accurate. I loved the cottage that much I booked a second trip whilst still there!!! We've had a lovely Easter Weekend. Thank you We liked everything!!!
- Joanna (10/5): Perfect cosy getaway! - Beautiful property, super clean, very comfy beds and had everything and more! Nothing
- Inga (9/5): Superb -
- Heather (9/5): Great little spot - The cottage was lovely and bright. A little cold when we arrived but that was soon remedied. The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of hot water and a nice selection of board games. There were also area maps which we look forward to using on our next visit to do some walking in the area. Not a big fan of the cutlery set - it looked frail but was surprising strong. Also felt the cupboards were a little full as there was no empty cupboard to store our provisions in.
- Jan (10/5): Lovely cottage in a small village - The cottage was clean and comfortable, with everything that you could possibly think of, especially in the kitchen, where there was even a complete herb drawer. Everything was modern. The beds were so comfortable. The location was fabulous - in the middle of the village and only 6 doors down from the local pub (where the food was out of this world). There were walks locally and for those that have not visited the area before, Richmond & Leyburn etc were very close. There was no local shop, but there was milk in the fridge when we arrived and the farm shop is close by, where we found the necessary items. We could not think of a way to improve this property.
- Emiliagrudzien (10/5): Exceptional - We had a fantastic Christmas holiday in the cottage.
Absolutely comfy and cosy place with good quality furniture and equipment. Clean and tidy.
In the kitchen, you can find everything you need and much much more.
Highly recommended 👌 👍
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Cleanliness, facilities and comfort Unfortunately no fire or working hob (was notified by hosts) main issue was both doors top windows were missing and boarded up poorly making them unsecured. And they rattled noisily throughout the night.
- Helen (10/5): Great hosts and a lovely location - The hosts Jen and Chris kept in contact before our arrival making sure everything was ok for our arrival . It was lovely and warm when we arrived and a well stocked kitchen made our first night easy . Nothing it was perfect for our stay
- Christine (10/5): Beautiful village beautiful cottage topped off with a fabulous dinner at the pub - Everything, perfect size facilities location beautiful
- Jimmy (10/5): Perfect holiday cottage - Felt really homely, no cheap furniture, all good quality, beds super comfy. Everything you could think of they had for you, definitely home from home. Great location for walks and small local villages. Thankyou Ring camera on every exit made us feel like being watched but that seems to be the normal now for all cottages we have rented
- Gail (9/5): Superb -
- Jennifer (10/5): Perfect for relaxing, super comfy top spec cottage - Everything you could need in the property for any eventuality. Top spec fixtures and fittings. Super comfy beds and soft sheets. Nothing! Didn’t want to come home.
- David (9/5): Nice cottage. Great to have a washing machine. -
- Isaac (10/5): Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location - 5* - Stunning location, stunning property, spotlessly clean, faultless. Well equipped and stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds. High quality fixtures and furniture. It’s a shame my stay was so short, I would have loved to spend more time there I think the only *minor* issue was that it is quite difficult to find, especially at night. The owners should use the ‘What 3 Words’ system to help people locate the cottage more easily. Not really much of a downside - just feedback :)
- Lisa (10/5): Peaceful - Everything we needed for a night away.
