Guest Reviews
- Sally-Anne (10/5): - Cleanliness, modern apartment, stunning views of the bay Position of soap tray in shower, it's suction so can be moved đ
- Matthew (9/5): Lovely area to stay - Friendly caravan site , clean apartment and modern. Nice walks and beach close by. A little way out of Paignton town but great for Goodrington sands
- Tracy (9/5): A lovely apartment, pool facilities excellent and bar staff really friendly - Accommodation was clean and fresh! Ideally situated for pool and bar⌠we took the bus everywhere, bus stop short walk away . Disappointed to have to pay for WifiâŚ. ÂŁ15 for 4 days!! Doesnt really have a minimart on site as advertisedâŚ. A few essentials for sale in ReceptionâŚ.. but supermarkets a short drive away
- Samantha (10/5): - The apartment was amazing plenty of space for all of us to enjoy. Great location. The cooker was complicated even with instructions
- LisaMac1 (9/5): Great value seaside stay - Modern, lovely and clean. Staff helpful and friendly, as we're the other holiday makers we met. 5 minute walk to stunning views, a well kept site. Very minor black marks in the shower. Huge rack of lollies in the middle of the bar my 4 year old could not walk past!
- sharon (10/5): -
- Kelly (10/5): - Everything about the stay was fantastic, staff could not have been better Nothing
- Corinne (10/5): - Staff, atmosphere...
- Paul (3/5): Not very clean - Private parking Very dirty greasy oven not been cleaned properly for months
Mould everywhere in the shower
Stains all over the mattresses no mattress protectors or pillar protectors
Cannot check in till 4 oâclock in the afternoon unless you pay ÂŁ25 for 2 oâclock check-in
You then have to pay for Wi-Fi most accommodation Wi-Fi is included
We stayed in the retreat, no views whatsoever very small windows
Right opposite the clubhouse with people shouting and keeping us awake till 11.30 at night
- Lisa (10/5): Fantastic place to stay. - Very clean, apartment was ready even though we arrived earlier. Reception staff were amazing. Couldnât fault it at all.
- Paul (8/5): Very nice - Great property
Amazing terrace
Looked like the pictures
Good location The master bedroom has a skylight in the roof but no blind so VERY bright in the morning.
There wasn't a tea towel provided so no way to dry dishes.
There also wasn't an oven glove.
The free wifi was terrible and I found it a little mean to then expect payment for high speed wifi. Seems a little outdated!
Check out time is too early
- Kennedy (10/5): Wonderful, would definitely come again - Booked last minute and it was lovely.
Great area, lovely staff and a cosy apartment where baby could run free Nothing
- Sarah (6/5): We enjoyed our stay the pool was very small and very cold the restaurant was nice but the food was awful and overpriced - Very nice very spacious and clean It was super hot
- Anne (10/5): Great location, comfortable, fantastic value for money - Really spacious and clean, free parking, easy check in. Terrible WiFi
- Tammy (9/5): -
- Charlotte (10/5): -
- Nigel (9/5): Perfect for our needs 10/10 with a new sofa - Clean spacious tv in all rooms good facilities THE SOFA WAS FILTHY SO WE SAT AROUND THE DINING TABLE ALL EVENING. There was a strange smell from the bathroom sink.
- abigail (10/5): -
- Mel (10/5): - Waterside is a lovely park to stay on, location is excellent
- Briony (9/5): - Loved our stay here. Very comfortable and the room was excellent.
- Megan (10/5): Modern apartment in a great location! - Modern apartment with comfy beds and great shower. Lovely to be able to go straight out from the living area on to the large terrace/balcony with a great view of the train track to see the steam train Overall very clean but a couple of areas like the tiles in the kitchen still had grease splatters on there. Not a great deal of crockery. Sofa in lounge comfy enough but the edge is hard so beware! Fine for a couple but may not be that suitable for 4!
No blinds on skylight in main bedroom which might not be ideal for some but didn't bother us
- Sharon (9/5): - Size of accommodation Flat pillows.
Lumpy pillows
Lack of kitchen utensils like small sharp knife
- Henry (10/5): - Everything. Nothing.
- Christine (10/5): A very comfortable place to stay. - Clean, comfortable and warm. Couldnât fault anything. Receptionist staff helpful and friendly. Nothing to dislike.
- Richard (10/5): -
- James (6/5): Served it's purpose as a base for our trip to Devon - Location peaceful / easy access to bar / restaurant Accomodation had a stale smell throughout our stay.
- Andras (10/5): -
- Lynda (10/5): Great Holiday Park - We stayed in The Retreat. It was fabulous. 2 nice sized bedrooms, lovely bathroom and great living/kitchen area. The kitchen had everything you would need and would definitely be suitable for a family. We were three women in our 60's who were in Torbay for a show at the Princess Theatre.
The pool was really good and the Jacuzzi next to it was large and really warm.
The bar served drinks and food and there was bingo on Friday and although we weren't there for it, If Racing on Saturday, in a friendly environment.
Would definitely recommend this Holiday Park.
Bus running to Torquay and Babbacombe every ten minutes from just outside the site. There wasn't anything - apart from having terrible weather, no fault of the site, of course.
- Williams (10/5): - The seabreeze appartment was very comfortable and spacious. Everything was clean, even had complimentary dressing gowns and slippers, felt like you were in a luxury hotel. Didn't use the pool or club house this stay as too busy touring the area. The welcome on arrival was great, staff very helpful.would definitely stay here again. Everything was great.
- Jo (8/5): - Lovely apartment and central Very hot but otherwise it was great
- Julie (10/5): - Everything from the apartment to the clubhouse and staff.
- Rebekah (7/5): -
- Neil (9/5): - Fabulous Only one fault. In desperate need of a lifeguard or supervisor in the fantastic indoor pool. Awful behaviour by other guests will only lead to a serious accident.
- tara (4/5): Okay - Spacious Iâm really disappointed with the pool opening times. On arrival day, you canât check in until 16:00, but the pool closes at 17:00 and guests arenât allowed in after 16:00. That means itâs impossible to use the pool when you first arrive. Then, on the day of departure, the pool only opens at 10:00, which is the exact time you have to check out, so again you donât get a chance to use it. Effectively, guests miss out on the pool entirely, which feels very unfair.
- Wisam (9/5): Wonderful Accomodation -
- Paul (10/5): - Amazing

- Kirstine (7/5): Enjoyable but would we return, not as it stands with the comments I - The apartment was spacious , very modern , spotlessly clean , fabulous shower , fantastic outside space with table and chairs and 2 sofas to sit on The double bedroom has no window to open just a velux with no blind on it and doesnât open , it was absolutely boiling in there no air at all and of course itâs light by 4 am so you get a blinding sun coming through at that time !!, also no mattress protectors on any bed and being asked to put all your dirty linen in a bag before you leave , we then discovered this and stains on the mattresses!! , not nice to see especially on the double bed a great big stain of what looked like pee !!! , if your going to ask guests to strip their beds please at least put a mattress protector on your beds !! this has put me off returning to be honest and it was going so well until that moment!!!
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Suited to our needs. Tea towel not provided.
- Jade (8/5): Very good - It was big enough and provided what we needed for my group. A double bed and two single beds. I liked that they had a TV in each room and a living room and kitchen space. I like that the staff were all really nice and friendly and that the apartment was clean and there was easy parking. I like that even though we were across from the bar, the apartment was soundproofed so we didn't hear any noise and it still felt private. The bedding was clean, mattress was probably firmer than I'd like but overall - it's a practical and modern space Unfortunately, they only have small mirrors in the bathroom and one of the bedrooms. A full length mirror would be handy. There was a sewage smell coming from the bathroom and the main shower head had water spraying out the top of it. Annoyingly there was no curtain covering the skylight in the smaller bedroom and no other windows in the smaller bedroom. Was woken up at 6.30am by the beaming sunlight and although provided a fan, the skylight didn't open so it was really really hot.
- Joanne (8/5): Lovely apartment for the family. A great space and location - Great location, lots of space, comfy beds Only 1 bathroom, no blinds in double bedroom
- Colin (9/5): Very pleasant. Large friendly static caravan holiday park - Great location. Clean, quiet. Great shower. Easy level access to car for older parent. No drainer for crockery and cutlery.
- Alexis (9/5): Excellent stay - Very clean. Well organised. Very good night sleep comfortable beds
- Tammy (9/5): Fantastic - The apartment was nicer than expected, very clean, only smdownside there was 4 of us and we only had 2 towels, skylight in double not great, with the light coming through.
And a tea towel would of been good. Bare skylight in double room.
- Skye (10/5): It was great and I would like to stay there again. - The property was family friendly. None
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (9/5): Superb -
- Fiona (9/5): Superb - Location for the steam train
- Deborah (10/5): Great short break - Clean, comfortable, easy to find
- Dean (9/5): Superb -
- Abigail (8/5): Very good -
- Antony (10/5): Great site and amenities đđđ - Perfect đ
- Abigail (7/5): Good -
- Helen (8/5): We stayed for a little over 15 hours but very pleased. - Very smart apartment with good amount of space for 2 adults and 1 child.. Great to have access to the pool although it was a shame it closed so early. Small bedrooms. Loud doors...presume fire doors.
- Roisin (9/5): Very good - N/a
- Ian (10/5): A perfect overnight stay. Well equipped, comfy, well located, walk to cove and to clubhouse and restaraunt. Lovely staff - Felt new and had flexibility for our group of seven fellas all on motorcycle on route to get Spain ferry day after in Plymouth. Extremely well equipt with TVs in all rooms and coffee machine. Brilliant shower. Overall perfect experience. And Iâm the first to complain normally. Ability to use double as two singles might have been useful, but not needed and sofa was also very comfy.
- Jo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (6/5): Overall a nice place but expensive for the accommodation we stayed in and disappointed by misleading advertising. - Beautiful apartment but unfortunately not the one advertised in the photos! The apartment we stayed in - The Retreat - was the one next door to the one pictured on booking.com
The accommodation was fine but there were no doors out onto the patio from the living area, and the hanging chairs and outside seating area pictured belong to the apartment next door. The advertising is very misleading.
Also, we were literally right opposite the club house bar and restaurant so it was quite noisy and overlooked.
- Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (9/5): Excellent value - We only stayed one night but found it a very comfortable, spacious place with all sorts of extras provided - fans in bedrooms, toiletries, little pack of stuff for washing up dishes, towelling gowns and slippers. Brilliant beds - firm but fab.
Short walk to see the sea Was a little surprised in view of all the extras that there was no cloth for drying dishes, or a dish rack.
Also thought that ÂŁ7. 99 a day for wifi was a rather excessive.
Shop useful but very limited stock.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sara (7/5): Pleasant but not exceptional - Itâs a nicely kept apartment but quite a hefty price for the size and location It was very stuffy inside and the cafe was not open for breakfast. Staff sent us to the Waterside Inn which was also shut on arrival.
- Clarke (9/5): Beautiful little apartment - Beautiful little apartment, very clean, great modern interiors and lovely terrace. Close proximity to beaches and easy bus route to Paignton centre.
- Cipi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (8/5): Lovely stay - The location was great. Beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. The staff were lovely and very helpful and we enjoyed using the swimming pool every day. From the photos, we were expecting to have doors that opened from the living space to the terrace, but we were in an apartment that didnât have this layout. Even though the accommodation was nice and we enjoyed our stay, I wouldnât have booked this apartment had that been more clear.
- Lucy (9/5): Really lovely apartment in a great location. - The apartment was clean, modern, comfortable and spacious. The location was excellent. The facilities on the park were fab - lovely swimming pool and very nice restaurant. The kids loved the playground and watching the steam trains pass by. The only negative we have is that there was no blind on the skylight in the master bedroom. This meant very early wake ups with the sun. We would love to come and stay here again but would definitely need to know a blind had been put in as wouldnât want the early wake ups again.
- Nicola (9/5): Superb - Loved the actual look of the property, beautiful designs very fresh, nice interiors. Outside the chairs were lovely to sit out, especially in the morning and evening sunset. Lovely chairs and table outside too, which we ate at on warmer evenings. Free parking just outside the property very convenient when taking bags and stuff so we werenât parked miles away like you do sometimes. Lovely location, absolutely amazing that it was only opposite the main bar and area so we felt super comfortable and quite lucky to be so central in the holiday park. Amazing distance from the beach/cove/cliffs area - itâs not a particularly sandy beach but it was nice and quiet and we were lucky to have beautiful weather, so itâs perfect if you donât like anywhere too busy. We didnât have time to go to the pool but would definitely visit the pool next time as the staff were lovely and friendly at reception and there seemed to be a lot of good facilities in the park. The food wasnât the greatest, and a little pricey for the options. Had a meat feast pizza just way too much sauce, very thick/heavy base and not crispy. Also came out with wrong toppings/missing toppings which we had to ask staff to correct and then they chucked the toppings on raw and didnât cook the pizza anymore which was a bit disappointing. The bar staff werenât that friendly either even though the main reception staff were very good. To be honest was just generally mid range food, which is what we sort of expected at a holiday park so wasnât mad about it, but probably something I would suggest for them to improve as if we had stayed longer / if we are to come again we wouldnât eat in that restaurant again. We would probably bring our own food so I suggest this for any other guests. In terms of the room it was so nicely decorated and cleanly inside but there werenât any personal facilities/ items that some places do so little mini soaps or any cleaning items, or just essential bits we might need, so we did take a trip to asda which is only up the road. There were nice towelling robes and slippers but seemed a little unusual not having soap or anything like that but then having nice robes to lounge in. So would probably suggest putting a few little disposable shampoos, soaps conditioners in the bathrooms and some stuff for cleaning up like a cloth and a cleaning spray. Just to make the stay more comfortable. But apart from a few points there amazing place and would recommend.
- Paul (7/5): Lovely property. Staff made us feel we had to leave by dumping fresh linen on our table and reminding us to leave at 10: - It was very clean and modern. Short walk to some lovely views. Very close to the main bar. Very hot inside even with windows and doors open. By the main entrance to the site, all vehicles driving past when sitting out on the patio relaxing.
- Leonie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful apartment, really nicely done with very modern fittings, lovely big terrace. Holiday park really nice, good pool, fantastic location on the coast. Nothing!
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clare (10/5): Fabulous family stay with sunny terrace - We're a small family of 3 and booked this stay for just one night for a special celebration, and we really wish we could have stayed longer. I would definitely book again. It's a delightful self catering cottage on Waterside Holiday Park. It is stylishly decorated and well equipped with every comfort, from walk-in shower to glorious terrace and TVs in the bedrooms too. You can cook or go to the club house opposite, which has a huge terrace. You can see the steam trains chugging past from your own terrace. Really special stay. Easy parking and key collection, great location. Leaving!
- Nicola (10/5): Perfect apartment, and location - Would highly recommend. Perfect location for short stay. Looking forward to visiting again. Very quiet. Although ideal for a short stay
- Susan (10/5): Fab , well equipped, modern apartment , together with great staff to look after you ;-)) - Loved the modern, brilliantly equipped, clean apartment , together with exceptional, super staff :-))
Before & during stay - Lizzie was so caring & amazingâŚreally felt looked after by her. Jan, Nicola & Sue were great, friendly & helpful too. Met also Johnathan, Mark, barman , pool guy, & sales colleague. All friendly, welcoming & being able to have a chat & laugh. Loved it! ;-) Thank youâŚvery lovely , genuine people. Nothing from us. :-)

- Katie (10/5): Fantastic stay, lovely location - Light and clean
- Matt (10/5): really relaxing and lovely outside area. will come back - Lovely location not far from many places to visit nothing
- Jon (7/5): Good - Pool was excellent
Apartment was very nice Lady on the bar was excellent and obviously a very new bar. But the food was terrible and so expensive. We would probably not come again because of this. I truly believe places need to provide value for money as most people can cook well at home now.
- Holly (9/5): Superb -
- Annmarie (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful apartment, we stayed a few years ago here, but was disappointed, but a much improved place now. Well done đ Good clean place,
