Guest Reviews
- Shafia (10/5): Great stay with friendly staff and the cutest little dog guards! 🐾✨ - I had a really lovely stay at Hotel Serugahawatta. The staff was kind, helpful, and made everything feel very comfortable and welcoming. One of the highlights was the two adorable dogs outside the room they were like our little guards and made the stay even more special and memorable 😄 Nothing major to mention—everything was smooth and pleasant.
- Yvette (10/5): Comfortable stay - The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and breakfast was amazing. There was enough food to feed us 3 times over ! Nothing not to like .
- Catherine (8/5): Very good - The food was the best we've had in over two weeks. The room is very well equipped. Like the separate shower, writing table, side tables and coach. Large comfortable bed.
Reasonable pricing. Local dogs nearby barked for long periods of time overnight, disturbing our sleep
- Amar (9/5): The overall experience was very good, especially because of the staff working there. - The staff was very very nice and polite. He was very accommodating. The price is also reasonable and room was good. A little bit more options could be in breakfast.
- Bobykimchi (9/5): Superb - As a stopover to break the long drive, slept one night. Excellent rooms, clean with hot shower. Well-functioning air conditioning plus ceiling fan for the night. Wifi works sufficiently. Very nice staff who are (too) happy to provide you with all the comforts. Breakfast, lunch, dinner are all provided. The hotel is located on a busy main road but at night we had no inconvenience. There is a beautiful garden with lots of fauna and birds. The price quality is top. Recommended for travelers. Apart from a temple (which we did not see due to the bad weather) and a waterfall, there is nothing else to do. Too bad because the hotel deserves many more guests.
- Amber (10/5): Perfect!! - We, my girlfriend and I, have experienced our stay as a wonderful journey. When we arrived, we were faced with a closed gate, but within seconds the owner arrived. After checking in, we entered the room – perfect! A nice big bed, a clean and spacious bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and everything you could need!
After having a little chat, the hotel owner asked about our plans. We mentioned that we came for the nature and tranquility, and without hesitation, he offered to show us around the area. This was the start of an experience we will never forget. 🙏
First, we went to a small waterfall, very local with no tourists – just some local youngsters hanging out who even offered us a beer. Then he took us to Diyaluma Falls – what a massive waterfall that was!
He offered us lunch, which he had made himself! A sandwich we’ll never forget; it was incredibly delicious. Next, we visited Buduruwagala Rock Carvings, where the owner introduced us to Buddhism. The place was surrounded by nature – trees, plants, birds – pure enjoyment. We thought we were heading back to the hotel, but nothing could be further from the truth. We visited real monks, where we received blessings and a white bracelet from an elderly monk. They also offered us boiled corn – so tasty! After the visit, we continued back to the hotel.
On the way, we ran into a friend of the owner, who invited us to their home. When we arrived, the whole family was there to meet us. What kind and friendly people! They offered us tea and chocolate biscuits, and my girlfriend even received a gift! It gave us such a happy feeling, something we will cherish forever. ❤️
Then it was time to head back to the hotel – or so we thought. Instead, we went elephant spotting! Yes, you read that right – real wild elephants! It got quite late, but we spotted several wild animals, including both a male and female elephant. This, too, will stay with us forever.
- Andrius (9/5): Great stay, good price and quality ratio - Good location, friendly staff Weak mobile signal and wifi
- Siddharth (8/5): Very good -
- Isuru (10/5): Exceptional - Even though hotel is located by the Ella-Wellawaya road, the location is very calm. Construction wasn't done in some parts of the facility. But the available rooms were at good standard. Good value to your money.
- Themiya (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was so friendly, a newly built hotel. It was very clean with a spacious room and a nice attached bathroom. That was easy to find and the location is very calm and located in the main road. We had a enjoyble stay and is highly reccommended. Everything was perfect
