Room was not that clean and there were lots of loadshedding issues. Plus they said free wifi however after asking for atleast 5 times for the password they said it is not working

Property is well secured, very clean and hygiene is well maintained. Food taste is good (typical bengali way). Most important clean and hygienic restaurant.

- Rahul (10/5): Amazing!!! - The room was exceptionally big, never had I expected such a big studio room. It was actually conglomerate of 2 room. Bathroom was beautiful and big. Beds were soo comfortable. Compound was extremely beautiful and photogenic and we enjoyed staying there. It was calm, peaceful and relaxing. People were cooperative and helpful. Would love to stay again. Food wasn't very good, it was average. Could improve a bit on that, but the amount was too much, so that's fair enough for me. Maybe you could've given a better blanket or heater in the room. It was a bit of a trouble for us in the night out in the cold weather.

Food is too much cosly with a less quantity. we have to give order food for one hour before. They are making against order only. so if you need more food , it is not possible for them to provide easily.

If ypu stay there must understand what's the meaning of shantiniketan... Room was clean, hospitality 10 out of 10, safe place for all. It was our ladies trip and we feet comfortable. Over all experience was too good . 1.The location is the problem , if any one want to stay in proper shantiniketan. 2. Food quality is good but no variety of dishes. And Should have options for the vegetarians also.

Proper cleanniness in the room is not maintained. Some amenity was not provided., say extra bed sheet for rapping in night, extra pillow not provided for extra bed. Finally provided on repeated requests. Inordinate delay in providing any kind of service, it may be due to sortage of staff. In total cost GST was not shown at the time of booking but was charged at the time of billing. Everything should be transparent. It was given to understand that breafast was complimentary at the booking time but it was charged. It is far away from central location and no mode of convenient convence Overall experience was not good at all.

- Aparajita (5/5): The reality is somewhat different from the advertisement - When I booked the property it was advertised to have free wifi, 9mins from Bolpur station and a restaurant serving all sorts of food. In reality, some rooms of the property has free wifi (you have to tell the staff that you would “need wifi”) and then they will adjust. The restaurant is not opened yet (which I realised at dinner time). As the place is in the middle of rice fields (beautiful scene though), there is no way you would get food if you are not willing to ask the somewhat unfriendly staff to bring it for you from outside. Also, the place is 9.4 km from Bolpur with no connectivity unless you have a car or a toto driver who would take you around. Also, the security is not 24/7, there is no one in the gates if you want to check out early. You have to call people all the time for any service. However, the propery is new (and hopefully things will improve over time), and very clean. The beds are very firm and may be uncomfortable for people not used to it. At this time, it is overselling. I am hopeful they will improve their services as they settle down in the business. And also provide more honest description on booking.com. I was fooled by it.
- Sarkar (7/5): Good - The ambience, the courtyard especially the pool which is surrounded by the lush green mango trees. Also the rooms and the food at the restaurant were good and value for money. First of all, it is not a proper resort like property.Rather , it's a residential property with a large segment of it dedicated to cater tourists.Now, the number of staff serving the tourists there are not adequate according to the bulk of tourists coming there to stay. So that creates a disorganised catering when it comes to serving food or micromanaging some issues which are going to be a little off colour to tourists coming there.Especially if you are coming with friends and family, there will be certain uneasiness to get used to the own system of the resort.

- Manisha (9/5): An aptly named stay@ Rabindra Thakur's place - The room,the hospitality,the food,the location. It was an awesome stay at Charulata. Couldn't use the swimming pool, as there are insects floating even after cleaning. I suppose, it's because of greenery and almost impossible to use.

Would recommend everyone this resort. Also in near future if I comes to Shantiniketan Bolpur, I would stay in this place only. The charges are also not so high.. It's completely fine according to the service given by them. Also the food is also very nice nice.

- Amitc (9/5): A very nice relaxing stay at Charulata, that served great food with personalized care! - Mr Kaushik Chakraborty really takes care of his guests, going into the minute details. He is an asset to the team there. Charulata is a residential complex over several acres with a temple inside. Just walking around the complex is very relaxing. The food is fabulous! The room could have been cleaner and well prepared. I had to ask for several basic necessities, which of course the team fulfilled. There was no geyser on the day we arrived, but the team promptly installed it the very next day and accommodated us in a larger room for the 1st day. They could have been proactive about all this.
- Ruby (1/5): A nightmare stay - The space is huge The good part ended with the location and outdoor spaces. The rest of it is all trash. Everything, from the construction material to the furnishings were of a very poor quality and tacky. The rooms were dirty and the bathrooms had no soap etc. But the worst was the service. There is not one professional personnel there. After waiting for lunch for over an hour, we barged into the kitchen to find the Manager smoking and drinking. I have photographic proof of the same. And once we saw the state of the kitchen and staff working there, we did not have any more meals there. The ladies who were cooking were the same ones who came to clean our toilets. Charulata residency is NOT a resort. It is a nightmare. If there is any authority to inspect the hotels, please visit Charulata. The photograph attached is of the kitchen.

- Abhilash (7/5): Safe and Quiet - The different cottage style houses were actually pretty beautiful. The isolation of the area makes it worthwhile to stay, so quiet and serene. Best part is the food there ! Ahaan! Lajawaab! The Pool should have hot water too, the location was a bit tricky, it took us 3 rounds of going around the place and then we reached almost like 2 hours later. Also I wanted a room upstairs, so unfortunately they don't actually give the full building, but rooms precisely, so either upstairs or downstairs. Our bad luck, we got the lower one, all uppers were preoccupied. So need more of those rooms.

- Madhuvanti (9/5): Superb - The location is a little far from the station but the place being away from the humdrum of city life is more peaceful and inviting. The rooms are spacious and clean. They provided toiletries in a wonderful jute bag which was an echo of sustainability that is practised within the premises. An amphitheatre, a temple and a wonderful multi gym orchestrate the finesse of the concept stay. The swimming pool needs special mention. The meandering pool encircles a few mango trees and are a treat to the eyes. There is a kitchen that serves fresh food throughout the day. Only the breakfast is complimentary and sumptuous. They also arrange for cars for sightseeing at a very economic rate. Wonderful stay please go for it.
- Mandal (1/5): Very poorly maintained residential property sold as resort . - Nothing much . staff were accommodative . I would like to bring this to the notice of booking.com 1. this is not a resort . Individuals have purchased apartments and converted it into rooms for rent. 2. some of the facilities listed on the site are incorrect 3. basic amenities like cutlery , tissue papers etc are missing . I can go on adding to the list 4. no restaurant facility . food is provided on prior request with at least 5 hours in advance 5. no permanent support staff for room cleaning , security etc 6. basic hygiene and cleanliness issues . Requesting you to look into this matter . I don't think this property qualify to be presented on booking.com site
