- Sharon (10/5): - Lovely and clean everything you needed was provided. Location amazing ,needed a later checkout time staff where great and allowed us to check out later . Nothing
- Jack (6/5): -
- Jodie (3/5): - Location was great It smelt really bad. Had to keep the windows open all the time. The place has lots of air fresheners so I think the owners know there is a problem. The air fresheners did nothing to solve the problem.
Very noisy on a evening until after midnight
- David Weigh (9/5): - Northgate apartment is centrally located for any tourist activities/attractions in Chester. It was clean and roomy. Everything you need to self cater or if you want to eat out/drink, there are many options not far outside the front door. N/A
- David Weigh (9/5): Chester Jan 2026 - The apartment was in a great location. It had all self catering facilities available. There are also many options to dine/drink close by. N/A
- Janet (8/5): Enjoyable stay in a nice apartment but spoiled slightly by the noise not from the street but the bar - Comfortable and warm and well equipped The noise from the bar downstairs was bad
- Tara (9/5): More than happy would stay again - Location excellent, value for money , definitely stay again, nice and warm, plenty of mirrors.complimentary coffee and tea , milk.roomy , nice decor. Bit tired in areas , quality of bedding , bit tired , nothing had been left out for bed settee in the lounge.curtains were satisfactory but light came in ..we didn’t have a problem with noise as were all tired but could upset some people .carpets were a bit dirty in places and paint work .fan in toilet also be good ..
- Katie (7/5): Nice location but needs some TLC - Good location for city centre and lovely soft towels! Sadly the apartment needs updating, had been cleaned but was still 'dirty' (cobwebs, stains on furnishings).
Living room light fitting was hanging on by the wires. Also apartment smells very strong of stale smoke! Had to wash everything we had taken with us when we got back!
- Woodall (8/5): - Good location
Lots of places to visit nearby

- Christoforos (8/5): - Eξαιρετική τοποθεσιά με προσβαση σε ολη την πολη με τα ποδια.
- Chetan (10/5): - It was really good to stay in the city centre with such a nice place, a perfect place to stay with family.
- Rosie (6/5): Location makes it worthwhile - Location is perfect, easy access with the key safe, clean kitchen and bathroom, large fridge feeezer provided. Glad for the fan as on the hot days there is no air flow. Bed was very uncomfortable and some of the throw pillows have stains, 'sofa' and dining table clearly very cheap, couldnt relax on the futon/sofa as it had no arms, no bin in bathroom and only one toilet roll provided so had to buy more. Shower temperature inconsistent.
Considering what we pay per night, would appreciate more investment for better comfort levels.
- louby22ld (3/5): Definitely not up to expectations. - Firstly the key wasn't in the lockbox, so we were standing in the street 15mins before thankfully got the code to the spare keys as the cleaner had perhaps forgotten to put the keys back they said.
Im not sure what the cleaner had done though apart from pile up the rubbish bag to the collection outside the apartment door that stays for whoever is there on a Weds evening to put out. There was food on the floor next to the sofa bed, sticky patches of whatever on the kitchen counter, cigarette burn on the throw on the bed & the linen and whole apartment really looked generally faded & grotty with scuff marks on walls etc. It needs a real clean & refresh. The sofa bed was like sleeping on planks of wood tbh so not very comfy.
The blind in the living room was broken & the window also not working being kept open with a piece of wood precariously balanced.
A main issue for access was that its a first floor apartment with no lift and a steep flight of stairs to the door which my mother struggled with, these were mentioned on the Web page link sent after booking, but my own fault I hadn't noticed that before we paid.
It also came under the search filter of having parking but there's no actual parking with it being on the main street, there's just public carparks nearby- we had to park at the Market one was nearest because of my mum's mobility & that was £13.50 per day so not too bad, but not £7 as stated- that car park is quite a way from the apartment & doesn't class as having parking really.
The main bed was comfortable & noise wasn't too bad, the only wardrobe in there though is taken up by a Henry vacuum. The living room has no seating if you use the sofa bed, apart from a small dining table & chairs, the kitchen is also part of that same room a small corner. The bathroom was usable but not very clean.
- Brian (6/5): Central with a lot of faults - Central lo location Steep stairs noise from bar downstairs and street late at night blinds on living room window which were all broken window that would only stay open with a block of wood sofa bed very uncomfortable for sitting on and sleeping no bedclothes for the sofa bed
- Dawn (10/5): - Location was amazing and the flat was clean and tidy.
We'd definitely look to book again. Just a few niggles. ..
The sofa bed was a bit uncomfortable and the blinds in the living room didn't close so it was quite bright in the morning and the grill didn't work.
- Jeanette (8/5): Perfect bang-in-middle of city spot for easy access to BEAUTIFUL city centre (if slightly noisy) - This apartment could not have been more PERFECT for accessing Chester city centre. It is literally a couple of minutes' walk from all key sites such as the city walls and the cathedral. The ampitheatre was maybe as much as ten minutess' walk, but probably less. The market is opposite, with a vast array of all kinds of food, all day and into the evening, and includes a bar. There is a huge assortment of places to find breakfast, lunch, dinner, pubs, etc within less than a minute's walk. There is also a Tesco about 2 minutes' walk away, and a very excellent chippy on the doorstop. All shops and historic buildings are within easy reach, even for someone (me) with an injured leg and stitches in my knee - on that point, the apartment is up a single flight of stairs - easy enough, though) The apartment itself was perfectly adequate. The bed was comfy. Towels and bedding were clean and the apartment was well-presented overall. To be honest, we were not in the apartment for very long, due to its great location for all this beautiful city has to offer, so we didn't use the kitchen besides the washing machine (great, easy to use) and the kettle, but it appeared to be well equipped with everything you would need to self-cater and if we stayed for longer, we would certainly have put it to better use. Due to the city centre centre location and council requirements, rubbish bags had to be left just outside the flat, on the commnual landing, which smelled a bit. The smell didn't affect the inside of the apartment though.
The cleaner seemed to not have cleaned the inside of the bathroom cabinet, ever, so there were a bazillion toothpaste stains - a very easy clean, that given there was no other shelf to put wash things, would have been appreciated!
The blind in the living room was broken so we couldn't open it - no big deal - it was very hot and the shade was useful!
We were there in extremely hot weather, and due to this, wanted to keep the bedroom widow open at night - however there is a pub directly opposite and it was VERY noisy for much of the night, including what we guess to be people going home from night clubs as it went on in waves until probably 2 or 3 am. This is not the fault of the property, and is the pay-off for succh a greaat city-centre location, and wasn't unexpected. On a cooler night, shutting the windows may have helped a bit. For staying only 2 nights, it was fine, but I imagine if we had stayed much longer, we'd have eventually got a bit fed up with lack of sleep. Having said that, I would absolutely stay here again, as ... yes... the location was superb.
- Peraza (9/5): Superb - If you want a central spot with character, value and a bit of night life around you over the weekend, this place is a win. Plus parking £11.50 for four days. Not a typo. Might be the best deal of the trip.
- Melanie (7/5): Good for those wanting to be in the thick of the action and not bothered about sleep! - The location was perfect for being in the heart of Chester.
Suitable for couple or friends heading out for a night on the town. Walking distances to all the main attractions and bars. If you want to get a good nights sleep this isn’t the place to stay. Loud music into the night and drunk people walking past in the early hours of the morning. The beds were hard and uncomfortable, the sofa bed is in the living room with no curtains so very light in the morning.
- Jessica (9/5): Superb - Lovely clean apartment right in the centre of Chester with everything no more than a 10 minute walk. Perfect location!
- Ann (7/5): It worked well for us but could definitely do with a new sofa! - Location is fantastic & it has everything you need. Worked fine for us for a couple of nights The sofa is pretty basic/uncomfortable, even for just 2 people.
The bar downstairs has licensed music/karaoke until 12pm (not 11 as stated)
The beer glasses in the cupboard were dirty, I had to wash them. The windows & ledges were also dirty. Everything else was v clean
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional - Nice spot good location
- Eve (10/5): Great apartment in a great location - I emailed the hosts before arrival with a couple of queries and they responded super quickly and were incredibly accommodating and helpful. All the information provided prior to check in was clear, helpful and accurate. The apartment has great amenities and is very clean. It is noisy due to the surrounding bars but the hosts are honest about in their information so we were well prepared and, for us, the location was the priority.
- Behan (10/5): Má tá mé ar ais i Wrecsam riamh seo an áit a fhanaim 🇨🇮🏴 - Nice, clean and tidy and the team are great 👍
Price was just right! (Perfectly priced for the dates and location) From my own personal experience! I couldn’t fault it and more than happy to give 5☘️(The 5 shamrocks is the same as 5 🌟
- Peter (8/5): Overall great place perfect for a night or two stay easy to find and access - Location was fantastic very close to all amenities which was great! The beds was slightly uncomfortable
- Mandy (6/5): Pleasant - Great location Sofa bed uncomfortable as a sofa and a bed
- Andrew (7/5): Good - Great location, if you retire to bed early this apartment is not for you as it is situated above a bar with loud music, you are also subject to quite a lot of street noise throughout the day, basic level of cleanliness but kitchen is well equipped, flight of stairs up to the 1st floor to gain access.
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christina (5/5): Great location for what we needed it - Just a problem with the shower when we needed it and had to wash in cold water
- Prosper (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (10/5): Fantastic start on the heart of Chester! - Location, location, location! Fantastic location right down the street from the beautiful Chester Cathedral. Walk across the street to the Chester Market for multiple dining options and cool gifts. The layout and decor of the apartment is nice and welcoming. The hosts were great and responded to messages very quickly. Nothing really. The pullout sofa isn’t as comfortable as some but that’s trivial.
- Hannah (7/5): Apartment was nice but not what is stated - The property was lovely and clean very central to Chester. It provided good appliances and gave good instruction to get into the building. This booking states that it has parking however, it doesn’t you have to park in a multi story car park which the reason we booked this was because it said it had parking. The booking asked us what time we were expecting to arrive and then stated we couldn’t arrive until after 3pm and had to leave before 10am due to cleaner coming and if we was still there at the time of the cleaning teams arrival we will have an extra charge
It was stated in the booking we were a booking of 4 and child’s ages inputted however the sofa bed was not made up or even told where the extra bedding was, when we entered the room a handle was missing from the drawers and a screw was sticking out which baby grabbed.
- Surifani (5/5): Passable -
- Rooney (9/5): Little gem in the heart of Chester - Loved the location right in the heart of Chester surrounded by all bars, restaurants and lots of stuff to do. Apartment was fabulous with everything you need. It was good value for money and parking was a few minutes walk. Very near Chester Market which had some amazing food and drink. We'll definitely do a return trip!
The hosts communicated with us and were very prompt with their replies. Thanks Jen 😊 Due to location there is noise at night, we didn't mind but not for everyone. Could do with a fan in the bedroom. Nearest car park cost £16.95 per night we paid it but I believe there are cheaper a few minutes further walk away.
- Jill (10/5): Place was clean, great location and excellent response time to any questions or needs! - Excellent location to everything! Didn't like that there wasn't any parking. Spent a fortune on parking
- Lauren (7/5): Great Apartment but not suitable for young children - The Apartment was fully stocked with everything you could need. From tin foil, to washing up liquid to cooking oil. We took our own food but was really impressed by how well we could cook with everything available to us in the apartment. The location on the high street was great too for venturing out to the shops or for some food.
When I called the staff to get help with directions the lady was really helpful and polite, can't fault them at all. The apartment was right above a bar which I didn't realise. We had 2 young children with us and due to the noise they didn't get to sleep until after 11pm. There were deliveries at the crack of dawn too which meant the sound of heavy beer barrels being lugged about. If we were on our own, it would have been fine as we would have been out enjoying a drink ourselves but definitely do not recommend it with young children.
The parking question also stated at the time of booking that there was free parking on site which was why we choose this place, this seems to have since been updated but we had to park a 15 minute walk away which was a pain everytime we went out and came back. Especially after a long day at the zoo.
