Guest Reviews
- Angela (10/5): -
- John (10/5): It felt very peaceful and relaxing which is exactly what we were looking for - Rennee was absolutely lovely & helpful and made us feel very comfortable and welcome straight away. The room and the view were both honestly stunning - we can't wait to return :)
- Catherine (10/5): A gem of a place - How personal and welcoming the host is Parking takes organising for the hostess
- Daniel (10/5): - The house was super clean, exactly what I look for when staying away. Waking up in the morning sounds like a meditation cd playing because the sound of the rainforest birds are so soothing.
The host is so friendly and helpful. Thank you for having me.

- Janeice (10/5): - This is paradise in the hills!! The room we stayed it was absolutely gorgeous everything you could need is there.. plus bonus snacks and breakfast materials. The views are just breathtaking a place you can go and actually relax and truly unwind. Renne was an absolutely amazing host we felt welcomed right from the first hello nothing was a trouble and she went out of her way to make sure our stay was incredible… can’t wait to stay again!!!
- Donna (8/5): Beautiful spot just needs a couple of things to make it better - Beautiful decor just what I was expecting I suggest adding a blind to the sliding door there was light streaming in at 5.30 am so no way to sleep in. The views were great but just need to have an option. It was also very disappointing to find when we got to the property that it was going to cost an extra $30 per person to use the sauna as this was advertised as part of the amenities
- Daniel (10/5): The stay was amazing and perfect. Everything from the personal touches to the set up of the property. - Host was amazing, had snacks for us, toiletries and anything else you’d need for a trip. The location is great and it’s an amazing getaway especially from the hustle and bustle of city life. That we didn’t stay longer. There were 0 issues.
- Fillingham (10/5): Privacy, magnificent views, wonderful bathr facilities, and many generous touches provided by Rennee - What a delightful getaway! Rennee has provided the perfect hinterland hideaway. Generous in all the little extras, marvellous views, super comfortable bed, and that bathroom, WOW! Renne offered absolute privacy, yet ensured that she was happy to offer any assistance should guests require. I will definately be returning. There was nothing that I didn't like as such. A tiny thing for me however, is that as an avid reader it was difficult to find an area with adequate and comfortable lighting in which to read. I experience in most accommodations that I stay in anyway, best I remember to bring my headlamp any time I travel.
- Tim (10/5): -
- jeff (9/5): Great stay to reprogram the system - Fantastic quiet location in bush covered surrounding, very peaceful and an attentive host I did not have any issues
- Caity (10/5): Amazing little getaway - Renee was absolutely lovely! So kind and welcoming. Loved every minute being there, helped me and my partner alot and reconnected us. The accommodation was stunning and views were even better, such a welcoming and calm place. Definitely can't wait to come back and stay. Nothing, everything was perfect
- Alan (10/5): The host was just a gem we felt well cared for plus lovely property with amazing backdrop &birdlife -
- Andrée (8/5): Very good -
- Megan (10/5): Little piece of heaven - Location was just near the entrance to Mapleton Falls. The outlook from the apartment we had (slept 2) was gorgeous.
The apartment itself was lovely. Not luxurious but had so many thoughtful touches and extremely clean.. it was perfect for a mini stay.
Aircon, super comfortable bed, huge bathroom, kitchen with supplies and fresh food and large screen tv. The gardens are beautiful too.
Renee the host was incredibly welcoming and helpful and had all the tips for the local area. A lovely property!
- Carmen (8/5): Very good -
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Akiko (10/5): Amazing. - Rennee was such a lovely lady to look after us.Thank you so much for having us.
- Jenna (10/5): Nothing short of amazing, Renee genuinely wanted nothing more then for us to enjoy our stay. - The second I arrived, I was greeted warmly by our host, Renee, who made me feel so welcomed and like family immediately. The room was gorgeous, sparkling clean with the most stunning view overlooking mountains and trees.
- Marshall (10/5): Exceptional - Superb accommodation. Equipped with everything you could wish for including sauna and pool. Good self-serve breakfast provisions. Superb location for nature lovers. Good pub restaurant nearby. Nothing at all.
- Anonymous (10/5): A true gem of a place and host! - Everything, the location was outstanding, with just a few steps down the road to the Mapleton falls, where there are the most stunning views. We had the property on the upper floor, and the small deck had the best views ever over the rainforest. The property was beautiful, with such an authentic and personal touch from the host Renee, who is simply delightful. She couldn’t be fairer, more pleasant and kind, and also very funny with some cracking stories to share. We had an afternoon at the pool to ourselves which was beautiful. We would like to thank Renee for her kindness, your beautiful place, as you know, touched our hearts, and I know one day - we will be back, because you’re right, one night isn’t enough! Thank you again love from Sue and Jackie Nothing at all
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the scenic views from the balcony
The host was very approachable and friendly
The amenities were everything you need for a comfy stay. Large room and bathroom. Lovely bath, shared access to a pool and sauna in mornings. That we couldn't stay longer because we had to go back to family commitments.
- Eva (10/5): The most beautiful retreat nestled in the serene Mapelton hills. - The most beautiful accommodation and overnight escape I have stayed at! The beautiful host Renee, had gone above and beyond making me feel comfortable and welcome. Mahalo Boutique Accommodation was cosy, quiet and all the little details were a pleasant suprise, from the toiletries in the bathroom, the generous breakfast in the fridge, the gorgeous essential oil bath salts for on the deck soak and finally the infared sauna. The views were spectacular from my own private deck and the pool area, while being surrounded by lush gardens and native birds.
- Sonya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): Great place, great owner in a beautiful location - Welcomed by Renee to this great facility. Perfect little getaway
- Ruby (7/5): While the property itself is nice with a great view, our experience was marred by some peculiarities - The property has a fantastic view and is right next to Mapleton Falls National Park. The pool, outdoor baths, and sauna were enjoyable. There was a lingering scent on the nightgown and sheets, suggesting they might not have been freshly washed when we checked in. Additionally, the owner requested that we make the bed before checking out, which added to this feeling.
Despite the beautiful pool, the owner locked the gate before our departure, so we couldn't use it on our last day. Furthermore, we found expired bread in the fridge for breakfast.
Upon arrival, we informed the owner in the afternoon that we wanted to book the sauna. She instructed us to text her, but didn't respond until the following morning. Unfortunately, the wifi password wasn't provided in the accommodation, and despite attempts to contact her via text, phone call, doorbell, and through booking.com, I couldn't access the wifi until the next day.
Before our departure, the owner texted me and mentioned 'Please make the bed before leaving...... I will take a video of the apartment after you leave , my sons judge the videos and score the guests & winner is announced on our FB page July 1st . You can win a weekend back at either of our bnb’s for being the most mindful group !'
Lastly, there wasn't a hair dryer available in the accommodation, so it's advisable to bring your own.
- Paula (10/5): Fabulous- amazing host - superb location!! - location, personal touch, little extras, attention to detail
- Bruce (9/5): Superb - Lovely spot

- Anthony (9/5): Superb -

- Emilija (10/5): Exceptional - Very spacious apartment, adorable view, stunning bathrom
- Judy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Man (9/5): A clean and modern mountain lodge with fantastic owner. - Rennee was extremely friendly and cheerful to us. She explained almost everything about the house to us and recommended nearby places to us. The house was surrounded by lot of trees and got a lot of mountain breeze. I liked it very much. nil
- Andrew (10/5): Comfortable bed, great shower with a spectacular view over a rainforest valley. - Location superb, the veranda had views over a rainforest valley and it is only a short walk to the waterfalls lookout. Large well appointed room with quality furnishings and friendly host. We only booked one night which was simply not long enough.
- Anson (8/5): Very comfortable and good value but a few shortcomings as detailed below - Facilities were excellent - living room/bedroom, kitchen, bathroom all well appointed and spacious. Swimming pool clean and good temperature. Great views from windows and the small sheltered balcony. Details on web said payment by visa, and that cash was not accepted: but host only accepted cash, or direct bank transfer - we had to go to town to get cash. This should be corrected on the Booking.com site as soon as possible so as not to mislead future guests - or start accepting payment by card!
There was a slight smell of drains/sewage which got worse during the heavy rain, which stopped us sitting on the balcony during rain
- Ian (10/5): Best place to stay in the hinterland away from the crowds. - Everything, loved the location so quiet and scenic.
Great pool.
Great host.
- Kirsty (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judy (10/5): Exceptional - Located in beautiful surroundings. Lovely hostess who was so hospitable. Comfortable and relaxing stay. Enjoyed the pool and use of sauna. The nearby national park was picture perfect.
- Pam (10/5): The hinterland retreat you need away from the city life. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! - We had the most wonderful honeymoon and retreat away from our kids and busy city life at this gorgeous hidden gem situated in Mapleton.
The host - Rennee greeted us upon our arrival in the driveaway and her wonderful sons assisted us in carrying our luggage from our car to our room. We felt so welcomed and comfortable throughout. The host took the time to give us a lovely tour and have a chat with us. Responsive host to all our questions and gave lots of great recommendations. Easy check in and out.
The host continued to go above and beyond throughout our whole stay, ensuring we had a wonderful honeymoon and stay at her BNB, leaving a lasting impression.
The BNB itself is well equipped with the essentials and more, gorgeous details throughout and natural lighting, very clean, generous continental breakfast supplies in the fridge, super cosy and the couch was so comfy especially during rainy weather where I became a couch potato with the luxurious plush robes provided.
This BNB truly sets the bar from other accommodation in the Hinterlands of the Sunshine Coast. The serenity in the mornings and evenings, overlooking Mapleton Falls. Photos of the view and surrounds simply do not give it justice at all!
I loved the BNB so much that I booked another stay in a few months time, this time longer! Can't wait to return. Thank you again Rennee! Absolutely nothing - wish we stayed longer!
- Matthew (10/5): The comfort, the glorious scenery, the location, the pool and amazing host makes Mahalo TOP TIER - Mahalo BnB location is like a slice of heaven - the accommodation is a 2 minutes walk from a glorious national park with views forever and makes your day start on a songbird melody from the rainforest - That we didn't stay longer......
- Nick (10/5): An exceptional stay that exceeded all our expectations - My wife and I chose this property due to its beautiful view and the fact that the location meant that we could go 'off the grid' for a few days, albeit it in a lovely designed space.
Each element of the stay exceeded our expectations, particularly the thoughtfulness of the host Rennee. Rennee truly went above and beyond in a number of different ways to make sure our first trip away together without the kids was a memorable one.
Add to the wonderful host, location and facilities; Mapleton is such a wonderful little town. The Tavern is exceptional, the bakery and cafe's are great and the people are so genuinely friendly.
We are already planning our return trip next year! That we couldn't stay longer.
- Helen (10/5): Brilliant peaceful place with everything you need. Renee was very welcoming and was very accomodating with requests. Wou - The property was set in bush land. The outlook was spectacular. Nothing
- Sally (10/5): Relaxing, peaceful and comfortable - Very welcoming host who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast was in the fridge for us and we were able to have a swim in the pool and relax in the sauna. Any questions we had were answered and we had the perfect weekend away :) Nothing!
- C2b (10/5): Luxurious serenity in a bushland setting. - This property is located in a quiet location close to Mapleton township. We had a lovely view out over the valley and the rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable with ALL the amenities you could wish for!
The refrigerator was well stocked with milk, juice, bread, croissants, jams, butter etc and breakfast cereals, coffee capsules... were also supplied.
The owner, Renee, and her sons looked after us so very well. Everything to like!
- Prosser (10/5): Exceptional - All great for value
- Anonymous (9/5): Amazing - Superb views, clean and comfy self contained room. Hubby was impressed with the pool and the size of the tv and I loved the bath. The only thing I couldn’t find a tissue box. Besides that it was perfect.
- Francois (10/5): Bella - We liked everything about the place,we certainly will go there again and we will tell our friends about the place. Nothing to report.
- Donna (9/5): Superb - We loved the location, facilities, and friendly hospitality. Our suite was homey with great decor. Small things we missed were a hairdryer and cookware for the oven/microwave.
