• Jonas (10/5): A wonderful place next to the jungle. - We loved staying here, surrounded by nature. The people working here are the friendliest you can imagine, very helpful and nice to talk to. We did a jungle walk and loved it. The rooms have balconies where you can sit next to the river, where you can have a swim. We could have stayed an extra day just to relax in this surrounding.
• Sarah (10/5): - The location is absolutely stunning. Our family of five stayed for two nights in the chalet. Sitting out on the balcony listening to the birds and watching the water monitor in the river was heavenly. Our hosts were incredibly welcoming and provided a delicious breakfast of eggs, sausages, flat bread, fruit and tea. We also had dinner both nights - Sri Lankan curry and rice - which was equally delicious. We organised a guided tour of the forest with the hosts which was a highlight of our trip. We saw so much wildlife and swam in a natural pool beneath a waterfall. We also loved the swing in the garden. The accommodation is basic but clean. The beds are comfortable and there was hot water for showers and air con. All in all a wonderful stay and highly recommended. I wouldn't change anything.

• ptachka1 (10/5): A very authentic place with welcoming and friendly young people - Отель находится на берегу реки в окружении дикой природы. Хорошее место для расслабленного отдыха и наблюдения за птицами и забавными пальмовыми белками. У отеля довольно большая территория, засаженная фруктовыми деревьями, чтобы наблюдать и фотографировать птиц никуда и ходить не надо. Мы жили в бунгало, которое стоит на берегу реки, там есть удобная терраса, с которой комфортно наблюдать за птицами и животными. Мой муж ездил на экскурсию в дождевой лес, я не поехала из-за плохого самочувствия. Когда он вернулся, то оказалось, что я сняла больше интересных птиц на территории отеля, чем он на четырехчасовой экскурсии, хотя мы специально обговаривали, что хотелось бы увидеть как можно больше птиц. До входа в национальный парк надо добираться на тук-туке, пешком особо ходить некуда, так как если захотите прогуляться пешком, то надо будет как-то договариваться с местными собачками. Мне очень в этом помогло печенье предусмотрительно положенное в карман. Братья - владельцы этого семейного бизнеса чрезвычайно милые и добродушные. Питались мы в ресторанчике при отеле, еда была съедобная, хотя иногда слишком соленая. Но парни очень стараются. У нас с ними оказался общий интерес - птицы. Они имеют очень острое зрение, поэтому помогали нам находить интересных птиц. К тому же они сделали кормушку, куда прилетают птицы, которых трудно увидеть. Нам было жалко расставаться с этим прекрасным местом и его владельцами. Был один момент в первый наш вечер. Когда мы включили свет, то забыли, что в ванной открыта форточка и оттуда в комнату полезло полчище каких-то насекомых, которых не пугали фумигаторы, и не спасала москитная сетка. Это были какие-то летучие червячки, они абсолютно безвредные, так как не кусаются, но жутко неприятно, когда ты лежишь на кровати, а по тебе начинают ползать какие-то твари. Вызвали одного из владельцев, он взял швабру и стал их просто выметать )) После этого мой муж еще целый час вылавливал и давил этих насекомых, утром пол был буквально усеян их трупиками ) После этого форточку в ванной мы наглухо закрыли, а вечером мой муж не разрешил мне включать свет )) И еще в бунгало очень хорошая слышимость, поэтому если вам не повезет, то это тоже может доставить дискомфорт.
• Lisa (10/5): - What a gem of a place. Sitting on the verandah listening to the sounds of the tropical rainforest is something i will never forget. I swam in the river below the cabin and it was lovely. The rainforest tour was great too. Special mention to the wonderful staff who went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay. Nothing...everything was perfect.

Also the staff is very kind and want to help you with everything. Breakfast and diner are delicious. We arranged the tour with them which was also great.

De gav os rigtig meget vand, så man skal ikke bekymre sig om det i det isolerede område. Hvis man er i tvivl, så serverer de skøn aftensmad hver aften og den kommer på regningen. Klart vores highlight på vores Sri Lanka-tur! Information om omfanget af turen "Lion Head tour", blev omtalt at det krævede "moderate fitness", men var langt hårdere med stejle trin på høje, slippery sten og rødder, samt 20 km i junglen. Men udsigten fra toppen af regnskoven var det hele værd!

Het uitzicht vanaf je eigen terrasje is echt prachtig, en ook veel vogels te zien. ‘s Avomds stond er heerlijke maaltijd klaar. Alles uitstekend geregeld, ook transport en wandeltocht door het regenwoud. Zeer goed en snel contact via whatsapp. De buren (een woonhuis) hadden harde muziek aanstaan, ook ‘s morgens vroeg rond 6.00 uur. Het personeel van het hotel heeft er iets van gezegd en toen hield het op.

• Philippe (10/5): Très bon choix pour Sinharaja - Un très bon hébergement, assez proche d'une des entrées de la forêt de Sinharaja, dans un très beau cadre : les chambres dominent la rivière Gin Ganga et les oiseaux donnent leur spectacle quotidiennement. Le personnel était très sympathique et la nourriture très bonne. Ils se sont occupés d'organiser nos transports, un safari et même une sortie nocturne.
• Johannes (10/5): Rainforest stay - Super nice place. Good place to do a walking safari because it is only 10 minutes from the entrance. The river in front of the house is perfect for swimming. The beds are amazing. And the staff will provide you with every needs.

• Grinter (10/5): Clean and basic and a great place to stay! - If you want a 5 star resort, this is not your place! If you want a river view with birds, a friendly chef/manager and a clean, basic stay- stay here! Fan, air conditioning and a clean room with hot water. No other people were staying; this suited us as we could enjoy the view, birds and relax. The boys organised cold beer for us- ask the price, give them the $ and you have beer. Overall, a great place in a secluded spot. There might be water on the floor after a shower but this. Dies overnight. If this sounds great, go for it! The more expensive places are probably similar but we could have stayed have stayed longer. Thanks to Chef, Manager Akila. Very good spotter of birds and a friendly person with lots of local knowledge. Nothing

The rice and curry were delicious, with generous portions. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed and was invited to swim in the river. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive to everything I needed. A truly wonderful experience! There was no AC, which might be a consideration for some travelers. The beds were a bit firm for my preference, but from my experience in Sri Lanka, this seems to be the standard.

• Karen (10/5): A beautiful stay being immersed in nature & eating delicious food! - Situated near the Sinharaja rain forest & surrounded by abundant nature, Sinharaja Riverside is the perfect place to relax your body & calm your mind. You wake up every morning & go to sleep at night hearing the sounds of insects & birds. Everything is built from nature! The meals I ate were exceptional! Akila, who is the chef puts his heart into everything he cooks. He was even kind to let me help in the kitchen & teach me about the fresh ingredients he uses. You will have a beautiful view while eating, & you’ll even be able to see peacocks & mongoose! The staff are so genuinely nice, friendly, & funny! They take the time to help you & are so knowledgeable about everything! Overall, I highly recommend this place :) N/A
