Guest Reviews
- Ong (8/5): - Comfortable place for a short holiday Pillows due for replacement, Has a stake odour.
- Judi (2/5): -
- Tracey (7/5): Lovely, relaxing and great location - Comfortable and all we needed.
Lovely location The open bathroom window which we couldn’t close for privacy.
- Robyn & Graham (9/5): Nice stay. Enjoyed Augusta - The TV didn't work
- Grace (10/5): The type of holiday you want to bottle up and keep. - This holiday got our kids off the iPads and back outside. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We will absolutely be back!
- Sara (3/5): Won’t go back - The location was good Extremely bad communication from the staff, particularly the Manager
The bed was very uncomfortable, black mould in the showers, windows locked open, aircon/heater did not work
- Brenn (7/5): Comfortable for the price - Check in and check out was no fuss and easy. Heating was great, BBQ was great, appliances all worked well and had enough bowls, cups, pans, etc to get on. Sheets probably need to be replaced, weren’t very comfortable. Need an additional bath mat, was saturated day one because of the shower screen set up.
- Kerry (5/5): -
- Caroline (9/5): - Great location. Lovely large deck with view of river. Hot shower. Decent kitchen and BBQ. Comfy beds. Downstairs bedroom was musty smelling. Otherwise great value for money and very enjoyable stay.
- Jennifer (5/5): For what it is and value for money it was ok. - Location was great. Main bed was horrendous needs a good topper? could do with some hooks in the rooms for towels, blind over the kitchen window for privacy, a pantry and a lamp in the living room
- Anne (9/5): Great value for money for a short stay. - We had unit 12 a Hugh place for 6 people though there was only two of us. Beautiful veranda to sit and watch birds and the river in the morning when the sun reached it.Super comfortable bad. Good location to drive to everything in Augusta. Free washing machine. The unit is old with some wear and tear , it’s been modernised with furniture and kitchen and is great value fr money Very dark inside due to verandas, really dim lights, and bricks.
- Sorja (3/5): Not worth the money we spent, definitely not 4 star as advertised! - The location. Very old, no overhead fans in bedrooms, aircon was dusty & made us cough, couch was sticky and smells (I got bitten by fleas), locks on windows broken and sticks were used as security instead, fireplace broken (repair in progress sign), some mould in bedrooms, (wardrobes smelled of mould) and mouldy ceiling of bathroom.
- Christine (1/5): Extremely disappointing - Very disappointing. Dirty
Not maintained at all
Unable to stay for two night - left early
- Kathleen (6/5): Not very satisfactory - It’s location. The door to the unit was extremely hard to open. We had a cockroach in our room on night one. The floor was very gritty on arrival. The bedroom needs a fan to circulate the air even when the aircon is on.
- Stephen (9/5): Very enjoyable stay, but as always, it goes to quick! - The location provided very relaxing walks with our dog along the riverfront road.
Felt like you were close to nature again. If it had been winter and very cold, then the bedding would have been insufficient for me, but my wife was in her element.
- Wendy (9/5): So please with our change of accommodation as Calkarri Blue was excellent. - N/A The sleeping arrangements. 4 ladies needed 1 bed each
- SUSAN (10/5): - Nice to see renovations. Quiet
- Martin (7/5): Nice comfortable stay. -
- Sanette (7/5): Relaxing stay - Good location. Clean unit, thanks. The shower was lovely and warm. Great kayaking spot. The bathroom door latch did not work. There was no privacy as the door kept opening. The shower sprayed water out around the nozzle.
- Ashlee (10/5): -
- Tony (8/5): - Location and facilities Noisey wind chime in adjoining property.
- Denise (8/5): -
- Claire (8/5): -
- Jacqui (7/5): - It was clean and in a nice quiet location. We were only given 1 towel each, which was fine, but there were no bath mats or extra towels to place on the tiled bathroom floor.
There were no tea towels or wash cloth either. This made it hard as we needed to do our dishes and had nothing suitable available.
There were also no tea bags and only enough sugar packs for one person.
- Hang Chong (8/5): - Very convenient Not enough bathroom
- lenny (8/5): - Great spot on the river close to town, clean & tidy
- Rosella (6/5): It was okay - Location was ok
Free Laundry facilities Lounge covers were gross, we put towels over the chairs but the arm rest were dirty
Mop from laundry was filthy, it’s shared facilities,
- Mullane (9/5): Great place to stay - Enjoyed our stay, thank you Nothing
- Haci (8/5): Location is a beauty,i would stay there again but must be cleaner than what it was. - We’ve booked 3 units for 3 families.Location was great, nice and quite and rooms had everything you needed.Located only 30-40 meters from the lake. My room wasn’t clean at all, maybe it was old but could have been mopped on floors, but i had to do that myself.Unit 1’s toilet door didn’t close so had to put some things behind the door to stop it opening.
- Haci (8/5): -
- Sandra (9/5): Just a few minor improvements as mentioned above would be beneficial - I like how spacious the cottage was A coffee table would have been nice to be able to place coffee cups and dining chairs should have rubber stoppers on the ends so when you move chairs they don’t make all that noise as neighbours kept moving around to late at night on our last night and it was hard to get to sleep
- Moira (7/5): Good option for families or groups of families - Old but clean and in a good position All good for the age of the property. The gardens were nice
- Jess (9/5): - Lovely lil cabins, great value for m money, chill vibe Nothing to complain about
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Christopher (9/5): Great place for a weeks stay. - Very good value for money. It was in a very quiet location, it had everything we needed including free washing machines and dryers.
We have 2 small dogs it it was an excellent setup for them. Nothing we didn’t like.
- James (8/5): Nice and cosy - Cosy and sheltered and excellent water pressure Old crockery
- Jodie (7/5): -
- Anne (10/5): - Stayed there before. It is really clean, has everything you need. Located in a lovely quiet area.
- Fiona (10/5): - Nice and peaceful. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Great location Everything was great
- Jodi (7/5): - Location was amazing, house has a great set up. I think it would be better to have washing machine in the bathroom. But still good to have free washing machine facilities. Felt on the bottom of the chair legs would be amazing.
- Sheridan (10/5): -
- Charlise (10/5): -
- Carol (8/5): - Location
- Lynette (8/5): Very relaxing. Perfect location. - Beautiful location. Peaceful and relaxing. Walk to town very easy. Bathroom floor was wet a lot because shower would overflow. Need a shower barrier to stop water spreading from shower to bathroom floor
- Rachel (9/5): -
- Binu (8/5): -
- Kathy (7/5): We had a lovely stay - all good
- Cyrus (9/5): -
- Ellen (8/5): -

- nicky (9/5): A very enjoyable and relaxing 5 day stay. - Location overlooking the Blackwood River was peaceful and the outlook beautiful. Internet connection was fast, Small kitchen but fully equipped. Walking distance to Augusra bakery and hotel. Handrails in shower and by toilet would be good features to add.
- Partridge (6/5): -
- Merelda (2/5): - Augusta is beautiful Premises was unclean. Dead flies on in sheets and pillows, all over the floors, bathroom and kitchen means cleaners are not ensuring how is free of insects when property is vacate cleaned. We discovered the flies in the sheets late at night so effectively meant one bed could not be slept in. Inconvenient and uncomfortable to sleeping arrangements. Photo evidence taken. Manager's response was I should have called her at 10.30pm at night, which is obviously not the answer to their poor systems.
A large huntsman is obviously a permanent resident and lives by feeding on all the dead flies.
Smoke alarm was going off every 10 minutes in the middle of the night and battery needed to be taken out. Obviously systems are not maintained well. Again I was told to contact manager at 3am??
Was advised by owner that he was not present at the property usually and premises not managed on site.
- danelle (5/5): Ok, overpriced. - Quaint No access to river/ path. No river views
- Shyamjith (8/5): -
- Craig (8/5): Thanks - Location Floors not particularly flat
- Ukdiver (8/5): Very peaceful and met our needs. - Very clean, easy to access and ample parking for two. Good location for exploring the South West of WA. The caretaker took the time to warn us of a powercut to give us time to prepare. There were only 4 chairs in the breakfast dining room and there were 5 of us. The gas lighter didn't work. This wouldn't have mattered but for the powercut!
