- Sara (10/5): We had a special evening here and felt very well cared for in beautiful surroundings. - The place is perfect for a stay on Mount Yoshino. It’s a short walk to the Main Street where you can get the bus to the top of the viewpoint. The rooms are very traditional with tatami mats and super comfortable futons. The garden is absolutely beautiful and the Onsen nice and hot. The meal was exceptional and had 12 courses! I’m vegetarian and the talented chefs accommodated my diet by providing a wonderfully tasty and seasonal meal with short notice. A very special place! The Onsen outlook to private garden area could be a bit nicer.

- Mattheas.E (10/5): - I booked this accommodation for my sister's honeymoon. They had an absolutely fabulous experience! They got so much food and it was delicious. They went beyond and arranged a bottle of champagne for this special event. Everything else is just what you expect from a traditional Japanese onsen. And the setting is lovely, too! If you arrive by train you can send them a message beforehand and they'll pick you up for free.
Going to Yoshino village requires a walk up the mountain, or make a long detour and take the cable car instead. The onsen is quite small, but it's totally fine in the off-season. - Zen (10/5): Special treat. - Food and staff were amazing. Location was also very out of the way, rather than in the main strip of Yoshino, which I liked.
- Thalia (10/5): Majestic Mountain with Forest Friends - What can I say about this magical mountain place that paints the right picture? It is very difficult to explain and this wasn't even during sakura season... First of all, I definitely had the best room by luck and an incredible view of the forest. This meant I was meeting an animal every day, just through my window. I saw a deer mum and her baby, briefly a tanuki and twice I saw a musasabi. Even if you don't see them, you will definitely hear the musasabi! As for the place itself, the room is very carefully decorated and well kept as is the whole property. I could've genuinely stayed inside the whole time, but the nature is a must. There are incredibly tall trees and a very charming street with restaurants and shops as well as the temple and more, but you need to walk uphill to it if you don't have a car. The host may be able to drive you as he is very welcoming and I must not forget to mention, the amazing food! Be ready to eat a lot and experience a variety of impressive flavours. Bonus: you can enjoy a calm garden if you don't want to go on adventures and there is a cute sleepy shiba inu mascot called Tetsu. I genuinely can't emphasise enough how much I enjoyed this place and area. It was a treat for myself, but it truly surprised me. Thank you to the whole team for making it so comfortable, this was especially appreciated as a solo traveller. Can't wait to be back, maybe with sakura blooming :) It was a little tricky finding lunch nearby during off-season but not a big issue as the food at the inn was plenty. I would be more prepared next time or book a meal plan. My only real wish is that I could stay longer :)
- Xinxin (10/5): - A hotel with an Onsen with 300 years of history, but also with friendly, accommodating, kind and kind staff. The innkeeper takes care of everything from reception and sending luggage, he comes to pick us up and drop us off at the train station and at the Konbini. We had a great stay here. I highly recommend it.
- Maura (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (7/5): Good, traditional onsen experience. - Location View from room was just okay. Other guests were very loud.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Miranda (9/5): Lovely accommodation, incredible food! - Absolutely wonderful experience! The staff were so welcoming and kind, the room overlooked a beautiful garden, the onsen was very relaxing and the dinner was world-class! Honestly, I would go back for the food alone. Highly recommend.
- Claudia (9/5): Absolutely recommended - The hotel is in a secluded place and you walk a steep and beautiful path to the village. There's a shuttle to take you to and from the station. The breakfast was very good and the kaiseki dinner, which I recommend, superb. The onsen downstairs is very small and wonderful. Nothing. The room is traditional Japanese, bare, Spartan and beautiful.
- Sarah (9/5): All our senses were satisfied! - The ryokan is in a very beautiful location, with different walking access routes to Yoshino that were magical to explore. We loved the peace and feeling of nature all around us. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful and our meals were both a visual and culinary work of art. Nothing not to like!
- Maksymilian (10/5): yoshinoonsen stay - very kind, warm and welcoming staff!
very cozy and serene place to stay, highly recommend!
- Steven (9/5): Outstanding forest retreat - Excellent stay, with traditional room overlooking garden, degustation-class dinner and onsen. Steep 10 minute walk to centre of Yoshino. Easy shuttle to and from station. Staff very helpful. Communication in English a little difficult, but overcome with a smile and patience by the delightful hosts.
- Matthew (9/5): Great for a Quick Getaway from Osaka/Kyoto - Great location with a short hike up the hill taking you to Yoshino's main street.. The staff/owners were very friendly and helpful and the food was great. The onsen was also nice, if possibly a bit small if more people had been there. It was perfect for us though as they were not busy. No problems really. The futons could have been a bit thicker and more comfortable, but I'm sure they were comfortable for typical Japanese client's preferences.
