• Jessica (10/5): - If you're still trying to decide where to stay in Valbone, you absolutely must stay here. Everything with our stay was beyond perfect! The view from the mountains at dinner is wonderful, the hosts are incredibly friendly and are brilliant cooks, and all the food cooked for us was fresh and delicious. Our room was clean and the perfect size for what we needed. Nothing, we loved this place and would happily return.

• Laura (10/5): Marvelous - It's a wonderful place to stay. The family welcomed us warmly and made us feel right at home. The breakfasts and dinners were incredible, featuring produce from their garden and their animals, everything delicious and abundant! We would definitely recommend it to everyone and would stay again. The house is a bit far from the start/finish of the Theth trail, but like the rest of the accommodations. Instead of it, It's close to the start of other very nice hikes! So nothing bad at all.

• Andrew (8/5): Great stay for hiking in Valbonë - Hosts were friendly and welcoming. Dinner was very tasty - the soup was excellent. View was nice. Location was good for hiking Rosni Peak. The bathroom in our room had a bad smell. Probably because of the septic system. We could not smell it in the room with the bathroom door closed. Everything was clean.

• Anne (10/5): Serene mountain escape with fantastic hosts - Marcel and his family were absolutely wonderful. The food was some of the best I’ve had in Albania. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. They were incredibly helpful, especially guiding me through the logistics for the Valbonë to Theth hike, which I had planned for the next morning. And the view from the terrace? Unbelievable! Surrounded by stunning mountains, it was incredibly serene. I genuinely regret not booking a longer stay. I’ll absolutely be coming back – next time for more than just one night. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality

The owners were lovely- the children speak English - and dinner was delicious. I was leaving early so they made me a packed breakfast at no extra cost.

• Callum (10/5): Lovely property in a lovely area, made better by the host. - The property is big and spacious with rooms that feel very private and quiet. Our host was extremely helpful and kind, providing us with anything we needed. The meals were tasty and authentic.

Es gab ein super preiswertes aber leckeres, traditionelles Abendessen, was man extra für uns gekocht hatte, sodass wir kein Restaurant mehr suchen mussten. Das Frühstück war typisch albanisch aber reichhaltig und frisch zubereitet und zu einer Zeit, die wir uns wünschten. Was man dennoch wissen sollte: Der Start(oder das Ende) des Valbona Passes liegt ca. 4km entfernt und man geht einfach nur an der Hauptstraße entlang. Das ist nach einer langen Wanderung (oder eben davor) ziemlich ernüchternd. Dennoch, die Lage an sich ist top, mitten in den Bergen, direkt an einer Badestelle und man hat beim Essen eine tolle Aussicht.

Repas et petits déjeuners délicieux et typiques cuisinés et servis par la maman. Elle est très réactive et appelle ses enfants qui parlent anglais quand elle ne nous comprend pas. L’indication de la maison dans Google maps introuvable, nous avons cherché un petit moment. Ensuite celle-ci est mal indiquée, il manque des panneaux de direction.

• David (10/5): A fantastic stay at Guesthouse Mountain! - Guesthouse Mountain was perfect for our stay in Valbonë. Marcel and his family were fantastic; very friendly, welcoming and were ready to help if we needed anything. The room was nicely appointed, very clean and very comfortable. The meals were fantastic, breakfast, packed lunch for hiking and dinner. A great hike to a fantastic view point and Rosny Peak if you are up for it, starts directly at the guesthouse. And we loved Valbonë, such a wondrous and beautiful place. We highly recommend Guesthouse Mountain!!!

Auch ein Nachschlag gab es ;) Die Lage einbisschen Abseits ist herrlich. Blick auf die Berge vom Balkon. Man wird bei der Navigation zum Haus super unterstützt.
• Dennis (9/5): Ruhige und authentische Übernachtungsmoeglichkeit in idyllischer Lage mit traumhafter Aussicht - Das Gasthaus ist sehr ruhig und idyllisch gelegen und bietet beim Essen vom Balkon einen atemberaubenden Blick in das Tal und die Berge von Valbona. Der Gastgeber ist sehr zuvorkommend und man wohnt mit der Familie im selben Haus. Dadurch dass es nur zwei Zimmer gibt, ist es zudem sehr ruhig. Einfaches, aber schmackhaftes lokales Essen. Der Gastgeber bietet Abendessen und Lunchpakete für Wanderer an. Das Gasthaus liegt etwas abseits und erhöht, sodass es nicht ganz leicht zu finden ist, jedoch gibt der Gastgeber klare Anweisungen und ist stets erreichbar, sodass es kein allzu großes Problem darstellt. Die Dusche befindet sich quasi im Klo, sodass eine kleine Überschwemmung unvermeidbar ist wenn man duscht, was für uns aber in Ordnung ging.

• Michael (10/5): Wonderful stay – authentic, private, and surrounded by nature! - Guethouse Mountain was exactly what we were looking for: authentic, private, and peaceful, with a beautiful location in the mountains. There was a stunning view of the mountains from the balcony, where we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in a calm and relaxing atmosphere. We had fresh eggs from the property’s own hens for breakfast . Our host and the rest of the family were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the host spoke good English. The rooms were very clean, with comfortable, firm beds and a private bathroom with shower and toilet. Dinner could be ordered in advance, and it was possible to get sandwiches for hiking. All in all, a perfect place to enjoy the peace and nature of Valbone. Nothing negative – we were very happy with the entire stay.

• Richard (8/5): Simple guesthouse - Simple guesthouse with a welcoming family (daughter speaks English). You can ask for a dinner and a packed lunch (enjoyed the homemade cake). Breakfast is included to get you going for a hike. Difficult to find first time (the mail with instructions were sent when I was travelling without internet).
• Chris (8/5): - A beautiful place and very friendly people. The breakfast was abundant and tasty. The rooms were basic but very clean. Being away from the road meant there was perfect peace. The owners are pretty self sufficient with fresh produce - eggs for breakfast and their own honey. A cup of tea sitting on the balcony looking over the valley was a lovely moment. The only drawback could be, for some people, that you cannot reach the property by car. You need to park on the other side of the river and climb a path to the house. Obviously this makes carrying suitcases out of the question. We just took what we needed each day from the car and left the rest in the suitcases. Another thing is that the shower basically wets all the bathroom as there is no curtain (something we found in other guest-houses/hotels in Albania).

Sogar spät abends fragte man uns, ob wir Abendessen wollten und das obwohl normalerweise nur Frühstück serviert wird. Der Weg dahin ist nicht so eindeutig, trotz detaillierter Beschreibung. Im Dunkeln nicht zu finden.
• Barbara (9/5): - Valbona è un paesino di montagna, isolato, ragion per cui richiede un pochino di adattamento. Abbiamo soggiornato in questa guest house, immergendoci in una famiglia tradizionale, cenando nel loro soggiorno e apprezzandone la cultura e l'ospitalità, nonostante l'importante barriera linguistica. La figlia parla un perfetto inglese, ma con la famiglia munitevi di Google translate ed empatia! Struttura molto pulita, in work-in-progress. Wifi perfettamente funzionante. La luce potrebbe saltare ogni tanto. Cena e colazione molto buona, abbondante, genuina, seppur nella sua semplicità. Possibilità di acquistare il miele da loro prodotto. Camera vista montagna. La struttura è difficile da trovare al primo colpo, per cui chiedete le informazioni per raggiungerla...in caso di necessità, prendete la stradina a sinistra passato il ponte con la ringhiera blu che si trova di fronte al nuovo hotel (dove potete trovare l'unico ATM) Struttura sita a 2,8km dall'inizio del trekking per Theth e non facilissima da individuare. Bagno un po' piccolo con un po' di odore di chiuso.

You get a message via booking a few hours beforehand with the exact location of the house because it is kind of tricky to find (its the Grey house above the green painted house). Rooms are clean with everything you need for a stay. The hosts are super friendly and we had a lovely evening getting to know a lot about Albanias culture and traditions. The food was amazing and we got milk from their cow and eggs from their chickens in the morning which was a highlight for us! Would definitely book again!

También tienen en la habitación una hoja con todo explicado en inglés, como reservar transporte y el número de ella para cualquier duda. La cena muy rica por 5€ por persona, todo casero. Adjunto foto. El desayuno incluido muy rico y suficiente, todo con productos caseros. Muy bonitas vistas. La habitación limpia y completa, baño bien. Los baños olían a humedad. Está en obras en el exterior pero no molestaban mientras dormíamos. Le faltaría un letrero a la casa, porque entras por una cancilla y no sabes si estás invadiendo una propiedad privada.

• Mitra (10/5): Peaceful and quite stay in albanias mountains with lovely hosts - We loved this accommodation so much. The hosts are extremely nice and offered us everything we needed. It is a simple room above their own living room with separate bathroom and a balcony where you can enjoy your meals with an amazing view on the valbone valley. We could eat at the acommodation since there isn’t a lot of possibilities in valbone so we were very happy to enjoy dinner and lunch and breakfast for a good price there. We can totally recommend this beautiful little place which comes from the heart. The way to the appartment is a bit hard to find but you get a perfect description beforehand :) thanks for having us and take care!

• Feelz (10/5): Amazing Guesthouse - This is an amazing guesthouse in the Valbone valley. Our room was extremely clean and had its own toilet / shower combination, and thus we were able to relax very well. The location was also very nice (not too far from the main road / big hotel). The young hosts also spoke English very well, and were always ready to help you when you need it. Furthermore, we paid a little extra for their homecooked lunch and dinner, which were amazing (sitting on the balcony with mountain views while eating a nice meal). I can't really think of anything negative to say.....

• Ben (10/5): Perfect! Would absolutely stay there again - Perfect in every way! A lovely family, great location - you step out the back door directly onto the Rosni peak trail. Food was great and not crazily overpriced like most guesthouses. While we were there the family’s niece was also there to visit who we enjoyed some nice and interesting conversations with. Would absolutely recommend!
• Michael (10/5): Mysig och genuin Balkanupplevelse i lantlig miljö med snäll och hjälpsam familj! - En genuin upplevelse i det lugna och natursköna Valbona. Du bor hemma hos en familj som håller till på undervåningen medan rummen de hyr ut ligger på övervåningen. De är alla jättetrevliga och hjälpsamma och kunde förutom frukosten som ingick också erbjuda middag samt matsäck inför min hajk till Theth. Rummet var tyst och lugnt med eget badrum och skön säng. Från balkongen där de serverar frukost har du utsikt över bergen vilket skapar en harmonisk atmosfär. I deras trädgård finns en hund och en del höns, och det händer att en ko kommer på besök också. Rekommenderas särskilt för dig som söker avskildhet och lugn i en lantlig atmosfär. Jag kommer absolut bo här igen om jag kommer tillbaka till Valbona. Det är lite svårt att hitta till boendet. De har gjort en markering på en bild på Booking om hur du ska gå från vägen men jag tycker ändå inte att det var så enkelt när man aldrig varit där förut. Jag rekommenderade en skylt vid vägen och gärna en till en bit upp längs stigen så att man vet att man är på väg åt rätt håll. Kanske också en liten skylt vid grinden kunde vara en god idé. Det är dock inte långt att gå från vägen när du vet hur du går. Ibland luktade det lite från avloppet i badrummet vilket kunde söka sig in i rummet. Det här kan ha varit tillfälligt men bra om personalen tittar på det inför kommande besök :)

• Jan (10/5): Absolutely amazing! I highly recommend it to everyone. - We really appreciated the last minute confirmed booking. After hiking from Theth we searched for this guesthouse for a while, but luckily very nice and kind neighbours live there and showed us the right house. Our host didn't speak English and Google translate into Albanian didn't work well either. So there was a language barrier but it was fun. Our host called his daughter, who speaks very good English, so we worked out what we needed. We were lucky to be able to stay at this guesthouse because our hosts looked after us so nicely and we really appreciated their hospitality. We really enjoyed delicious dinner and breakfast as we sat on the balcony and watched the beautiful mountain scenery and pets running around in the backyard.

• Lara (8/5): - Abbiamo scelto la struttura per la sua posizione sul sentiero che porta verso Kukaj e Maja e Roshit. La cena e la colazione erano deliziose fatti con prodotti locali. I proprietari erano gentilissimi e accoglienti. Il bagno è abbastanza piccolo e non c’è un box doccia. Nella stanza ci sono solamente il letto e due comodini, non è presente altro mobilio.

• Otong888 (10/5): - Les hôtes sont très sympas et se rendent disponibles. Les repas (déjeuner et pique-nique simple / léger) ne sont pas chers - prévoir des snacks en plus si vous faites une grosse randonnée. Bonne localisation - si vous arrivez en bus il vous déposera au niveau du pont et il faut ensuite marcher 5 minutes en montée (utilisez la localisation sur une app de rando pour voir les sentiers) - au départ de sentiers de randonnée. Balcon accessible avec vue montagne. Le premier soir, la famille fumait (cigarette et cigare) à l'intérieur la porte ouverte donc les odeurs montaient dans la chambre... La salle de bain était humide car nous n'avons pas réussi à ouvrir la fenêtre. La chasse d'eau n'est pas forcément toujours efficace.

Schönes, sauberes Zimmer mit einem Balkon. Sehr nette Besitzerin, die gutes Englisch spricht und alle Wünsche erfüllt. Gutes Frühstückt. Die Uhrzeit des Frühstücks kann man sich selbst aussuchen. • Guémené (10/5): - La vue du balcon avec deux canapés pour en profiter. L'ambiance du lieu avec les poules, le papa qui s'occupe des abeilles, la maman qui nous cuisine des bons plats et Edona qui fait le lien avec les invités. On a pu acheter du miel à son papa et elle nous a offert du gâteau pour la randonnée. Ce moment chez eux restera un super souvenir de notre séjour en Albanie. Trop chouette immersion dans une famille. Attention, le logement n'est pas simple à trouver. Penser à bien demander les indications en amont à Edona. Avec cela, ce sera plus easy.
• Vivien (9/5): Really confortable stay - The room was really confortable and the bathroom spotless clean. Great shower after a day of hiking. The family that owns the place is really kind and welcoming. The location is a short walk uphill from the main road. It was a little hard to find. Some signs would be nice.

• Victor (10/5): Buen sitio para alojarse en Valbona. - Buena relación calidad precio. La comida muy buena y a un precio bastante asequible. Las vistas espectaculares y la atención de la familia muy buena, nos ayudó en todo momento con todo lo que necesitábamos. Muy recomendable
• Kaori (10/5): Everything was perfect! - The whole family is incredibly kind, they do everything what we needed. The room was clean, the view from the balcony was amazing! The location is a bit off the pass, you walk a bit to get there. So the view was awing from there!

• Paula (10/5): Hiker-friendly relaxing stay with gorgeous mountain views - Coming from a 6-hour hike all the way from Theth, we couldn't have been better received. For our luck, we were able to hitchhike on the last few kilometers by the end of the trail to Valbona's centre, which was perfect giving the location of the guesthouse! The family was very kind and helpful. They recommended us some really stunning nearby hikes and we had fun watching the chickens and chicks running around in the backyard. They offer dinner at a very cheap price and the food is delicious. The room was spacious and had a clean, private bedroom. The best thing about our stay was the beautiful view of the mountains! Since it is a new guesthouse, it is not well known yet: you can't really find it on google maps and since Valbona is a small village, just having the address won't help much if you have a transfer picking you up, for example. However, this should not disencourage anyone from booking a stay at the guesthouse! It is a short walk from the "big hotel", as the locals call it, so you can easily use that as reference.
• Martin (10/5): - Ali, Drita and their 2 daughters Edona and Risila were the nicest hosts you could wish to meet. Their guesthouse is also spotless and gives amazing views of the mountains from the veranda. Edona and Risila both speak very good English and were only to happy to help and answer any questions. Highly recommended. Nothing

• Tancrède (10/5): - L'accueil était adorable. La chambre était confortable et nous avons pu dîner sur le balcon avec une très belle vue sur les montagnes !
• Liubov (10/5): - This place felt like home + an extraordinary mountain view. We are very grateful to the host family for a warm welcome and delicious homemade food. There's everything you need for a good rest. There are plenty of hiking routes in the neighborhood. I highly recommend choosing this guesthouse over more commercialised hotels. We hope to be back once more!
• Bronwyn (9/5): - This was like having a lovely home stay experience. Our room was basic but adequate, and was good value for money. There was easy access to a comfortable balcony with a magnificent view. The food was plentiful and home grown and cooked by our very lovely hosts.They were helpful in finding transport to the Valbone trail head. It was overall a great experience .

Balcony was super nice with spectacular views of mountains and perfect place for reading/relaxing. I'd love to return again soon and thanks for everything.
