Guest Reviews
- Lingyun (7/5): Not bad - clients are kind and warm hearted Many mosquitoes in the house, so I can’t sleep well
- Mélinda (10/5): -
- Itay (1/5): -

- Ka (10/5): Spacious, clean and high value for money - Affordable, even when all flights were cancelled that day due to volcanic eruption in L Bajo, this hotel didn’t increase its prices.
The room was very spacious with good partition of bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. It’s a bit far away from the city centre, which would be only accessible by taxi. However, it’s actually very near a residential street with restaurants and shops that stay open till late evening.
- Sam (1/5): Stay Somewhere Else! - We didn't like anything and left to another hotel The description says It's a few steps from the airport. It is the other side of the airport, a 15 minute drive away up a barely passible dirt track with only a mosque nearby.
There is air conditioning and a TV but there is only one plug socket so you can either have TV or air conditioning and not both.
As it happens the manager told us the TV wouldn't work anyway as there has been no aerial for some time.
There are mosquitos which can't be kept out as there is an inch gap under the door and the bathroom small window can't be closed.
There is no kettle as described but a grubby water heater.
There is a propane gas cooker but no carbon monoxide alarm.
The room was grubby with cobwebs and in need of a good clean.
Stay somewhere else!
- Sahana (10/5): Exceptional - It’s very clean and worth the money
- Matas (8/5): Great for budget! - It is a very sweet place, beside locals, friendly staff, excellent value for money Location a bit far, have to grab bike and chicken can be loud in morning
- David (8/5): Very good - A bit away from the center but there is a supermarket and food places within a 5 min walk. The staff although may not speak English well was nice and helpful. Thank god for Google translate. You have a mini kitchen and water cooler. Place was clean. Wifi was decent. A bit outdated and farther from city center.
- Ryan (7/5): Good -
- Jenaya (10/5): wonderful!!! - Absolutely amazing place, with super a spacious room, small basic kitchen and bathroom. I stayed here long term for two months and it was like a home away from home. Imelda, Elen and Yanto really were like a family while I was here, Some other reviews say it’s quite loud - but honestly you do not hear the planes after 7:30pm, maybe a couple roosters in the morning but you hear this everywhere in Bajo so overall very quiet location.
Location is little bit out of main town, close to the airport but perfect if you have scooter with it being less than 8 minute drive (Grab is also 8-12k to harbour) It is quite nice to be a bit of out town particularly if you’re here for while. Grocery shop at the end of the street, and lots of good food options on the main street in Batu Cermin.
Couldn’t recommend this place more, thank you for everything, Imelda you are the best!
- Iamrouka (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff Far from city center
- Nurulhuda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nurulhuda (10/5): Exceptional - staft named imelda was very helpful right after booking till end of our trip
- Alejandra (10/5): Exceptional - Imelda was very nice and helpful The bathroom, very uncomfortable
- Daniel (9/5): Excellent price- value relationship - Imelda’s service, she is really helpful
The quality of the place is really good considering the price It would be good to have a little fridge, at least a shared one.
- Poppy (10/5): Exceptional - The host was lovely, really clean and tidy apartment
- Holly (1/5): Bad - Nothing. Where do I even start… incredibly dirty and loud. How this accommodation has got good reviews shocks me. Do not stay here!
The kitchen area and bedding were so dirty. The main doors had massive gaps in them, allowing noise and insects to easily get in.
So noisy 24/7. Can hear traffic, animals and people constantly.
It is located on a dirt track. Staff were not very friendly.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Dagmara (8/5): Very good -
- Elaine (8/5): Clean and comfortable room - Nice place -clean and comfortable-strong shower spray, kitchen in room. A bit far from town but easy with a motorcycle
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Valentijn (9/5): Nice guesthouse with great host - Imelda is a great host. She arranged a lot for us during our stay. She had a driver on standby who picked us up multiple times and via her brother she arranged a day for us to go see different places like the waterfall and caves. The room is nice and was a great place from where we could do our excursions. We had to sit sideways on the toilet as there was no room for your legs
- Thomas (7/5): Good -
- Alvita (7/5): Good -
- Evie (8/5): Very good - We had a lovely time at Getrudis. The staff were super accommodating and welcoming, especially Imelda! It’s slightly further out than other accommodations but only a short scooter ride away. The rooms were very clean with good amenities and for a great price.
- Margreeth (10/5): It feels like home! - The staf! Imelda is so friendly and helpful with everything. You can always WhatsApp her with a question or request. She is always ready to help. Nothing!
- Laure (10/5): Perfect - Great place to stay! Everything is very clean and comfortable, the AC, kitchen and wifi work perfectly, you have free water, tea, soap and shampoo in the room. Plus Imelda is very very nice and helpful. It’s not in the center, but the center is easily accessible by walk (30minutes) or by scooter (10minutes, 15k for Grab). You still have everything you need close by, a supermarket and an ATM next door, as well as little warungs to eat if tired of cooking.
It is a bit tricky to get there the first time as it is not referenced on maps, the easiest way is to aim for « Glen Cell Batu Cermin » with Grab, which is the supermarket next door. All you have to do then is take the small street on the right side of the supermarket and walk 1 minute until you reach Getrudis Guesthouse.
- Patrick (9/5): Very nice hotel in Labuan Bajo - Nice kitchen area, clean room, working aircon near the bed, seating area in front of the door, quiet atmosphere, filtered drinking water always available and a very helpful host.
- Tina (8/5): Very good quality with affordable price - Imelda is the best ! - I will start my comment by saying thank you for Imelda, which made our trip even more enjoyable. Always joyful and available, she went above and beyond helping us big time a few tines. She always has an answer to every questions we had and always answer quickly.
This is a very cozy homestay in a local street.
This is still an old building but it is very clean and functional. Bed was comfy and AC was working well.
Small kitchen (no fridge) with unlimited purified water and hot water provided to refill our water bottle. We were able to have our breakfast home with eggs&bread and we also did some simple cooking (the supermarket is 2 minutes walk).
There is also a small restaurant that does very good soup just next to the house Chicken in the morning can be a bit annoying. Also location is 10 minutes drive to downtown, so you need to keep that in mind. Grab moto was 8 to 15 000 each way (depend on the time of day) to downtown (for 1 person).
Toilet room is very small and you cannot be in a straight position in it, but it wasn’t a problem for us. Shower is not hot, but medium temperature.
Also note that Airport shuttle is not included in the price anymore, but their driver service offered is still the better price if you are travelling with big bag, as only grab motorbike exist in this city (no car).
Wifi was a bit slow
- Banoo (7/5): Good - Imelda is amazing! Helped organize Komodo island visit, arranged transfers, prompt responses to all WhatsApp queries.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - A very cosy and clean room.Very quiet.Imelda is a great host.Very helpful.I can strongly recommend this place nothing
- Henry (10/5): Spacious and comfortable room for a good price - Great location so close to the airport and only 10 minutes away from the harbour via scooter. The room was exactly as advertised, the air conditioning worked great and the bed was really comfortable. The room was a good size and having the water tank in the room was nice too. The staff were always very friendly and helpful and helped us to arrange an airport taxi transfer as well. The nearby chickens were quite loud in the morning, this isn’t the fault of the hotel at all but maybe bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper!
- Emily (7/5): Good - Clean, staff very friendly, comfortable beds
30min walk to city centre
Kitchen facilities were nice No hot water but had warning so no issues
- Steve (7/5): Cheap price for a night stay before a flight - Good location to the airport.
Good value for money.
Cooking facilities.
Comfortable bed.
Transport available to the airport for an additional fee. The toilet is an odd design, not much leg room whilst your sat on the toilet so you have to side saddle.
It would be good to have a bin in the bathroom, as you can't flush toilet paper, the only bin available is in the kitchen so doesn't feel that sanitary.
The shower was a little on the colder side.
The wifi didn't work in our room but if we were stood outside the room it worked, so perhaps they need an extension to help the signal in the rooms further away from the rooter.
- Martin (9/5): Superb - The place was very clean, comfortable bed and with a kind staff - Imelda was very nice and helpful. Location (30 min walking to the centre), surroundings (next to a construction site). But if you walk down via main streets, you can have a haircut complete with massage for 30k :). (first main road, pretty close to guesthouse.) and Grab is only 14k to centre.
- Luisa (9/5): Always again :) - We stayed here for almost one week and can highly recommend this homestay for everyone who likes to set back for a while and explore Bajo at the same time.
The Guesthouse is located a bit outside of the city center, but within a 40 minute walk you can reach both the Harbour and the center without constantly having noises and traffic around you. The Guesthouse itself is located in a quite area, but restaurants as well as two big supermarkets are just a stone's throw away.
The flat was very clean, simple furnished but comfortable and offered even a small cooking spot. The equipment could have been more and the pot was too small for „big meals“ but if you like to make yourself a breakfast or some snacks it was just right.
The one thing that needs to be emphasized especially positively here is Imelda, the very friendly and helpful woman on site. She organized our transport from the airport and helped us book the Komodo tour. Communication was always easy via WhatsApp and she patiently answered every request we had. Big Thank you!
Overall the price is really worth for what you‘ll get.
- Sara (9/5): Superb - Nice accommodation with clean, spacious rooms and all the amenities you need. Imelda was such a sweet host and so helpful, you can directly book Komodo trips with her. Great place to stay if you're spending a few nights in LBJ! It's a bit outside the city center, around a 10min drive with a Grab motorbike (~15k IDR)
- Daniela (10/5): Exceptional - Staff is very nice and friendly. They help you with anything you need. You have a free transfer from/to airport included which is a huge plus. Very easy communication through WhatsApp with host. Room is spotless. Everything is very clean and room is quite spacious. I really enjoyed my time in this property and came back when I was in town again. I would highly recommend it. Even though is not in the main center, it’s very easy and cheap to move around using Grab or with your bike. The only thing I would say is that Internet connection was not the best and also I couldn’t get a very good signal. Everything else is perfect!
- Ava (10/5): Basic and simple - Clean and comfortable stay. A little walk from the main town maybe 20 mins. They arrange airport pickup for you. This property is perfect for a basic simple stay. It’s extremely good value. There is supermarkets less than 5 mins walk away and you can cook for yourself at this stay.
- Jens (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious and clean accommodation in central location. Very helpful and friendly host.
- Georgina (8/5): Great place to stay! Convenient location for the airport and super friendly and helpful hosts! - Great location! Free taxi transport to and from the accommodation included in price. Hostess was so friendly and helpful! The shower sadly wasn’t warm, but otherwise no other complaints!!
- Miriam (10/5): Good value, friendly and helpfull staff - Pleasant stay, friendly and helpful staff. They were all very nice and accomodating. I am glad I have chosen this spot. Great value for money, cute bakery just up the road. Quiet area. Overall good experience. Plus great communication. Not many places for dinner near by, but this was easily solved by a quick and cheap drive to town. The price reflects the location so this is not a negative. There are small shops around and also a bakery .
- Laven (10/5): Amazing staff and room - Imelda was amazing, the owner and staff always make a big difference as well as a very clean room and kitchen. Thank you!
- Hannah (10/5): Excellent staff service and clean, comfortable room. - The property was very clean and comfortable. the staff, particularly Imelda, went above and beyond to help me and give me lifts to places as they appreciate the location is a little out of the way. However, it’s a lovely area and I met some local children - a much better representation of the community of Labuan Bajo than any property near the pier. Comfortable, large bed and lovely to have a mini kitchen and be able to make coffee. Very spacious! Only recently on Booking.com, but deserves excellent reviews! It is further away than some properties, but as mentioned above - Imelda more than makes up for this and it was a nice change being away from all the tourism of the centre.
- Nicole (9/5): Great budget accomodation. - Amazing service with airport pickup & drop off.
Very clean accomodation with beautiful bed linens, sitting room, kitchenette & bathroom. Spacious & good value. Supermarket & atm at top of the street. Imelda was very accomodating and cheerful & helped with all our needs.
Excellent value.
- Giyora (9/5): Very very recommended!!! - Remember the name: *Imelda*
She is the biggest asset of this lovely guest house...sweet Imelda runs this guest house, and she is the most reliable, responsible, helpful and nice person you'll meet on your trip!!!! She helped us ***SO*** much, that i recommend to let her plan your trip. We stayed at the ground floor which is a bit better than the second floor. The guest house itself is *super clean*, spacious room, with kitchen and all the facilities you need, as good a/c, super clean and snow-white towels, comfortable beds and pillows, t.v, fridge, drinking water tank with cold and hot water, coffee and tea, also an air-port shuttle was organized by the hotel!!!!
and wonderful Imelda, of cours :)
The location is about 10 min. Drive from down-town, only 70,000 rupi one way- very reasonable price. Well, the shower is quite small, but manageable....so dose the toilet. But again- very clean!
- Ingrid (9/5): Superb - Owner and staff (Imelda) were super helpful, responsive, and friendly. They provided a free pickup and drop off to the airport and made sure that I was all set for my pre booked tour during my stay. The room was spacious and equipped with drinking water, hot plate directly in the room. Would definitely recommend! Location is convenient to the airport but does require transport to the main downtown area near the harbor — though grab is readily available. Toilet positioning is tight with little room for the legs even for me (a short female) and limited electric outlets in the bedroom
- Michael (9/5): Was a great experience, and good value for money - I had an absolutely flawless experience at this place. The owner went the extra mile by picking me up from the boat, setting a positive tone for my stay. The room itself was impressively spacious, offering a sitting area, a well-appointed bedroom with ample closet space, and a TV for entertainment.
The inclusion of a small private kitchen was a pleasant surprise, making it convenient for those who prefer to cook. There was always hot and cold water on hand for coffee or tea, a thoughtful touch.
While the shower and toilet were on the smaller side, they functioned perfectly, and cleanliness was top-notch throughout the rooms. The air conditioning worked like a charm, ensuring a comfortable stay.
Location-wise, it's conveniently close to the airport, with Grab services readily available. The staff knew exactly where to pick you up at the hotel, making transportation hassle-free. I found that using Grab to get to the town cost around 15,000, which was reasonable.
One of the standout features was the owner's flexibility in allowing me to check out at 14:00 due to my later flight and even providing transportation to the airport. This level of customer service truly made my stay exceptional.
In summary, my experience here was fantastic, thanks to the welcoming atmosphere, spacious rooms, convenient amenities, and exceptional customer service. I highly recommend it. I was to big for the toilet ;-)
