- Andrea Louise (10/5): It was lovely to escape in this perfect environment hide away , - Very quiet location, clean cabin, cooking facilities, comfy bed , on the edge of the woods with a hot tub , perfection. Nothing , I loved it
- Keith (8/5): -
- Tracey (9/5): Lovely lodge and lovely location - Lovely lodge and lovely location
Great for travelling into Manchester for the shops as well as local walks in the beautiful countryside n/a
- ionel (10/5): - The hot tub was amazing
- Thomas (10/5): …. Perfect location , amazing surroundings…can’t wait for our next visit! - Absolute gem! High spec, prefect base for exploring the Peak District… then back to the hot tub! We will definitely be returning Way too comfortable!! We were asleep by 10pm every night, after hiking and cocktails in the hot tub!
- Claire (10/5): -
- Lucy (7/5): - Lovely picturesque, quiet location. The lane to and from the site is very tight and uneven.
- fiona (10/5): - Fantastic stay, beautiful surroundings and facilities at the property.
- Sara (5/5): Warning you can't use hot tub after 10pm. - The site is in a lovely area, the lodge was clean, cosy and warm. Bed was comfy. Smart TVs in lounge and main bedroom. Never been to a lodge with hot tub that dictates that you can't use hot tub after 10pm. This was not in booking.com description and it wasnt in the sites hoseasons description either. If I'd have known this before I wouldn't have booked it.
For this reason I wouldn't stay here again. I can understand being quiet and respectful to others is important but 10pm is ridiculous, plus lodge site is under the flight path for Manchester airport so you can hear the noise of the planes 24/7. The hot tub wasn't very good. We have been on lots of hot tub breaks over the last 20 years and have stayed in lodges with the same type of tub, it's not working properly, half of the jets aren't working and it doesn't bubble up like it should. Needs fixing or replacing.
We stayed in Combes View (2) lodge. Using the cooker was a challenge as all the numbers and symbols have long since been scrubbed off. We found the instructions in the drawer but the images were small and blurry. I had to take a photo on my phone and enlarge it so I knew what I was doing.
Lastly check out time at 9am is ridiculously early and as we stayed mid-week we then added to the school run traffic in the village, so would be much better at 9.30am at the earliest.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Fantastic, relaxing stay. - This is the second time we've stayed now. Once in a lodge and this time in the cottage. Both of our stays have been amazing. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and have a really chilled break with lots of really good trails to explore then this is the site for you. The TV in the living room needs updating. There was a smart TV last time so we could log into our apps and watch a film at night but this was a really old TV and only offered Freeview. We brought our own fire stick just in case but the port behind the TV didn't work so we couldn't use it.

- Ruth (9/5): Lovely location, well equipped lodge - Great location Check out was earlier than most places at 9am

- Shannon (8/5): Great - The hot tub was lovely, the beds were super comfy, up in the hills we saw a a deer and her baby wonder on through the woods, would stay again as it was extremely relaxing, warmed up very quickly same as the water and overall great location. Stayed here for a wedding in Glossop but we look forward to staying again to go hiking through the Peak District as it was absolutely stunning scenery. Decking extremely slippery, no gate so the chairs flew into my car with the bad winds despite me trying to place them a bit more securely.
There was also a big metal bolt in the car park towards the curb that I twisted my ankle on (I was wearing heels for a wedding), the drive down isn’t very well lit the lights just do not give off much light, so arriving in the dark isn’t advised as these are rough single track roads.

- Amy (10/5): Exceeded expectations - absolutely beautiful and exactly what we’d want from a cabin stay! - The cleanliness, how quiet the area is, all the kitchen appliances and ware you’d ever need, the sky lights, and just being in nature We loved everything about it, no dislikes at all!
- Paul (10/5): -

- Helen (8/5): Peaceful getaway - Location is great. Really quiet and peaceful. Beautiful scenery. Not far from village should you need a few bits. Easy to get to Manchester. Lodge well equipped. Hot tub was a nice :) WiFi wasn’t great
- Norma (7/5): Charlesworth lodges - Lodge was beautiful, very comfortable, and clean Road down to lodge a very long single stone track with no passing space if another car was coming in other direction
- Alessandra (8/5): - Immerse in park very relaxing, peaceful The WiFi was not really working and also the TV. But the rest was just fine 🥰
- Ceri (10/5): Nice and quiet - A lovely, quiet location. Lodges are very well maintained. Close to a small village, useful if you run out of anything. The access road is narrow but not busy. When Google maps says that you have arrived...keep going a bit further!
- Roxanne (4/5): Lovely, quiet location in beautiful countryside but needs attention to detail. - Lovely lodges in a beautiful location, surrounded by unspoilt countryside. The site was quiet too during our stay. Clean on arrival and the facilities are generally good. The hot tubs were a wonderful addition too and able to sit out on the decking.
The kitchen and dining area were the best features of the lodge. A well equipped kitchen. The showers did not work on arrival - cold showers in both lodges. The staff did not come out until the next day to come and sort the issue. The first we contacted the contact via phone, the person who answered was rude and abrupt. In one lodge, the water kept going cold so had to call staff out 3 times. This was tedious during our stay.
The road to and from the lodge site was a very long, bumpy and rocky, no warning of this before making a booking.
Some of the furnishings seem tired and dated. Sofas in one lodge were so flat it was not comfortable to sit upon.
- Jude (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (5/5): Need new cleaners. - Had to clean floors. Hoover sofa n chairs. Half full beer bottles.blocked sink drain. Smell of sewer all around. Had to buy air freshnerEmailed company outlining the same
NO REPLY Unclean. No disabled access. Spa tub you had to climb into.
- Stephanie (10/5): Brilliant week in the Peak District - The lodge was lovely and the area very quite. Some things need a spruce up. Handle on bedroom door broken and door wouldn't close properly. Some of the blinds broken and the tap in the en suite moved around when turned on. A mention of plastic cups for hot tub but there were 2 flutes which didn't work very well.
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional - Fab location .clean. hosts were fabulous 👌 Leaving xx
- Dragon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ricky (10/5): Could not fault are stay - Out the way in a lovely area and peaceful
- Lorraine (9/5): Superb -
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - The cabin was stunning. Beautifully decorated and very clean. Everything you need is there. The bed was very comfortable and the outside tub was an added bonus. The outside area is also stunning and well look after. We went to Mam Tor for the day which is just up the road in Castleton. The area is beautiful. Would definitely stay here again.
- Dragon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Evie (3/5): Not a deluxe cabin at all. - The sofa was comfy. The hot tub views was dead trees and nothing else, the tub was also dirty. I wear sliders and all sorts of shoes as I cannot get in bed or water with dirty feet. Well it had black and white bits floating and sinking in it. The TV in the bedroom was a joke. Barely worked, about 20inches and not a smart TV. The bed was so uncomfortable that I found sleeping on the sofa was nicer. Random men came around without warning which didn't help my anxiety. No washing facilities so don't stay longer than 2 nights. I personally wouldn't call this deluxe. The cabin I stayed in previous was way better. Also had dirty sheets.
- Molly (9/5): Clean, quiet and relaxing stay - Location quiet, lodge clean and full of amenities and a good base for exploring the rest of the Peak District. We loved the hot tub! We had an issue with the back door not locking properly (left door) and so we had to sleep with it unlocked a couple of nights. But this was a minor issue.
- Jade (10/5): Beautiful, recommend to family 🫶🏼 -
- Jen (10/5): Recommended! - Site and Lodges are beautiful. Very private. Would def stay again. Pub 10/15 mins walk away and a lovely walk into Glossop only took an hour. Nothing
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely stay and will definitely be back
- Sarah (10/5): Lovely chilled weekend surrounded by nature. - It was very cosy and clean. Beds were really comfortable to sleep in and plenty of room to move around the bedrooms. We ended up spending the entire weekend just chilling in the lodge and it was the perfect place to do it. The hot tub area was a little sun trap and so relaxing to chat away in nature. We especially loved waking up to look out the window to the see the alpacas!
It wasn’t too close to the other lodges either so we got a lot of privacy, especially when it came to the hot tub!
It’s a very short walk to the nearest convenience store and pub. Looks like lots of walks nearby too.
- Kimberley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (10/5): Perfect 2 day stay in a beautiful location - Perfect location, beautiful Lodges, done some lovely walks, fully recommend
- Katie (6/5): Pleasant - No shower gels or tea as a welcome back which would’ve added to the experience
- Reece (4/5): Disappointing - Mattress was terrible
Hot tub did not seem like it was working properly
Couldn’t get no hot water in the bath in bedroom witch was one of the best features of the place
And heating and water stopped working had to get some one round to mess with the boiler
The lady on the phone didn’t seem to happy about having to come down and assist us Nice location nice place just few problems witch was ashame
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Andy (9/5): Great weekend getaway in beautiful surroundings and walking distance to a pub with food. - Lovely little holiday . Nicely contained chalet with parking. Great private hot-tub.
Heating of place was great-can control temperature of rooms which was nice. Shame no condiments or similar supplies at all but not too much of an issue.

- Brian (8/5): I would imagine that in the summer and the walks are not waterlogged it would be a glorious retreat. - The lodge was amazing, possibly one of the best we have stayed in. Very big and roomy and well stocked for every eventuallity. A bathroom and an en-suite and a lovely reading room. You certainly do not get that in many places. When booking I thought I had booked a hot tub, which I always do. However on arrival I found that we had a big outdoor double ended bath with jets. O K maybe I mis-read the booking form and although the bath was reasonable, a hot tub it is not. Our break was not ruined but it did rather take the edge off things.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caitlin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Evangeline (7/5): Overall lovely area but needs more basic amenities and longer usage of hot tub. - It's was lovely and location was beautiful. The lodge itself was great and spacious. Gas and electric was all fine and you can order food to the isolated area which is great. The hilltops were pretty and the llamas were nice to wake up to in the morning. However the pillow case was dirty and can only stay in the hot tub until 10pm which I think is rubbish. Also no tea/coffee/sugar left and not even basics like milk... yeah pretty standard.
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - The location was beautiful, and only a short walk into the village. Pub had great food. The lodge was spotless and very comfortable with everything you need. Hot tub was lovely.
Would recommend to anyone. The only small detail was not enough toilet roll 😊
- Stephen (9/5): Superb - Peaceful nice location, loved seeing the llamas All good
- Mathew (9/5): Superb -
- Jeff (9/5): The route to the Lodges are very interesting , but WHAT a place when you have arrived , all GOOD. - Liked the location, the hot tub was a bonus handy on those hot days , very relaxing! The Lodge had everything for your stay , with lots of walks around the area. would like to think we could return again in the future .
Would like to say that Emma and Mark were excellent hosts , any problems and they were on it , and soon sorted. It would have been nice if the route to Charlesworth lodges was a little easier , as I originate from Glossop in Derbyshire( nearby Town), I had forgotten the very steep hills , which your car would have to climb in order to get to the Lodges , and at the very end , there is a very interesting lane to go down before you reach the entrance the Charlesworth Lodges .
Just make sure your Vehicle is capable of climbing those sometimes narrow , very steep hills .
- Hannah (8/5): Lovely location and lodge, very clean and comfortable - The cleanliness and layout of the lodge and the facilities/crockery inside it were great. The site was small, lovely, quiet and well kept. There were a couple of small maintenance issues that could be improved. We had no hot water on arrival and although the response from the host was prompt it unfortunately wasn’t rectified for another couple of hours. All the door handles needed some grease as they all squeak/creak. These are minor points that didn’t really impact on our stay.
- Dawn (9/5): Excellent stay. Exceeded my expectations. - Loved everything about the lodge. The lodge was spotlessley clean and everything was very well organised. The grounds are spacious and well kept with lovely views of the surrounding hills. Hot tub was fantastic. Nothing.
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Charlesworth lodges. - Everything was very good.will be back. Everything
- Tracy (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (9/5): Good value for money. Everything provided, exceptionally quiet and peaceful, comfortable bed. - Lovely spacious lodge, hot tub great and nice location. Lodges weren’t crammed together and excellent views of the countryside. Netflix and WiFi excellent. Hot water plentiful. Lodge was a bit dated and needed updating. Small access road to the lodge narrow and rough.
- Megan (9/5): Superb -

The journey to the lodge boasts - A serene and highly recommended retreat for families, with the added perk of a hot tub. - Amardeep (9/5): Tranquil countryside escape, ample space for a family of four. Clean and well equipped. - Completely secluded, away from urban areas. This is a peaceful retreat, large accommodation for a family of four. The living space and bedrooms were very comfortable, and the hot tub was an added treat. Plenty of parking space.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, the lodge was clean and tidy with good facilities. Plenty of walks close by, lovely little pub ten minutes walk away.

- Michelle (10/5): Idyllic, peaceful location - Peaceful location
Lodge facilities, style and cleanliness.
Helpful staff member
Strong WiFi (Woodlands Lodge 3) The bed in master bedroom had quite a hard mattress. Though this is a positive for some people.
Single track steep access road but, in a rural location this is to be expected.
- Tommy (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and a lovely setting Liked everything
- Motaz (9/5): Superb -
- Ashraf (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (9/5): Relaxing retreat - Lovely quiet location - great to just get off the hamster wheel for a weekend. Cracked mug, wonky tin opener could do with replacing
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beatriz (9/5): Superb - Complimentary tea/coffee and soap
- Trevor (5/5): Passable - it was nice, decent space. the hot tub was cold for the last 2 days
- Ch4r73y (8/5): A few issues at the start and end, but a very lovely place to stay and we'd definitely return - The location was great, beautiful part of the country and very peaceful. Lodges were very clean and far enough away from each other that you didn't feel encroached upon at all. Lots of plates, cups and cutlery and well stocked with pots and pans and a dishwasher to make self catering super easy.
The hot tub was the reason we'd booked and we were not disappointed, it seemed to be looked after well and it was lovely and warm. Sofas were comfortable as were the beds, with clean sheets, and robes & towels provided. We had an issue with the key safe not working on arrival and had to call for some assistance, this was sorted very quickly and we were then given a tour of the lodge which was lovely. The lodge although very clean was a little tired, the shower doors couldn't be closed which meant that one towel was always soaked on the floor and the two bathroom doors couldn't be properly closed or locked.
On check out we read that we should leave the key on the counter which included a fob for the front gates, but when leaving in the morning (around 11am), the gates (which should've been open during the day, closing at 7pm) were closed, which meant that we couldn't get out. We tried the gate buzzer for a few minutes and also tried to call directly for some help but there was no answer. So one of our party had to walk back to the lodge, then back to the gate to open it with the key fob, then walk back to the lodge to leave the key and back to the gate to drive home, which was quite a disappointing end to the stay.
- Yvonne (9/5): beautiful setting x - lovely lodge, , we stayed in combes view 1, lovely site very secure, with electric gates, wild life running free which is beautiful to see, everything u need in the lodge, very stylish and comfortable x u have to come out your lodge and walk around the side nearly to the back of the lodge, to get to the hot tub, it needs to be on the decking really
