• Zarema Dremdzhy (9/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful sea-style hotel. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the beach. Special thanks to the chef for the delicious food and to the staff for their friendly and attentive service. Everything made our stay relaxing and memorable.
• Emily (9/5): Beautiful stay in Capital Trincomalee! Vegan and Vegetarian Friendly! - Beautiful rooms, super clean and bright - loved the green doors and windows! The room smelt amazing and so clean. Garden around the property was lovely too, and the restaurant was incredible - the best food and so fresh and the chef kindly catered to our dietary requirements (Vegan and Vegetarian). The chef It’s directly opposite Fernando’s Bar / Market and the beach (literally 30 second walk) so such a good location. It wasn’t a problem for us but as a heads up to other guests there’s no hot water. Fortunately it was extremely hot and the cold shower was welcomed! As it’s so close to other bars/beach/restaurant you can hear surrounding properties music, but that’s to be expected from such a central location.
• Ellaura (6/5): - Staff are genuinely lovely people, food at the adjoining cafe was sensational - cold beers, delicious meals. Aircon in the room was lovely and cold. Very clean. Excellent location in Uppuveli, just across from Fernando’s. The shower facing directly over the toilet is deranged. It has a warm water flow rate of 1.5L/m which is roughly the equivalent of a watering can, and we had to google how to use the heating device because otherwise it’s just straight cold water. The walls are quite thin, so sound can be an issue if you’re an early sleeper (before 11pm). For a country with tea as its second largest export, should probably have a kettle.

• Esthi (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at the Capital Trincomlee. The location is just across the beach. The rooms were clean and comfortable. But the best part was the lovely and super nice staff who just went out of their way to make our stay convenient. Warm, welcoming people who made us feel really welcome! Also the breakfast was just amazing every morning! Would highly recommend!

Restaurant menu catered for foreign food but staff were very accommodating in providing Sri Lankan food which is what we wanted- can’t be beaten! We had 2 rooms and one didn’t have hot water, and walls are very thin so quite noisy at night

Im Zimmer gab es alles was man brauchte und ich fande es schön, dass jedem Zimmer ein Tier des Meeres gewidmet wurde 🪼 Die Dusche hatte sofort heißes Wasser 👍🏻 Man ist so nah am Meer, vielleicht 2 Minuten zu Fuß und das Restaurant was zur Unterkunft gehört, ist super. Kavi und seine Kollegen kochen ausgezeichnet und sind so lieb! Auch das Gastgeber-Paar ist unglaublich lieb und wir hatten eine sehr gute Zeit zusammen. Auf meinen Wunsch hin haben wir einen Tagesausflug nach Dambulla gemacht, wir haben immer gute Musik gehört und ich habe einen Whisky Sour bekommen 🍸 Sie waren so großzügig und haben mir bei allem geholfen, zum Beispiel einen Busplatz nach Colombo zu reservieren. Ich vermisse euch (und Lion 🐈) jetzt schon und werde wieder kommen! Ich kann jedem empfehlen, dort zu sein 🩷 Lediglich das Kissen fande ich unbequem, aber das ist Geschmacksache 🤗
• Wailes (10/5): A hidden gem and perfect for relaxing on the beach. - This is indeed a hidden gem, with beautifully simple rooms and everything you could need for some time on this part of the coast. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. The mango smoothie bowl for breakfast was a work of art! There wasn't anything they could have improved.
• Leonie (9/5): Drie dagen genieten! - Alles was goed! We hadden een heel aangenaam verblijf. Het hotel ligt op slechts 1 minuut wandelen van het strand, wat echt ideaal was. Op het moment van ons verblijf waren wij de enige gasten, waardoor het er heerlijk rustig was. Het personeel was super vriendelijk en deed echt alles om het ons naar de zin te maken. In de buurt zijn er ook veel restaurants en verschillende mogelijkheden om je kledij te laten wassen, wat het extra gemakkelijk maakt tijdens je verblijf. Zeker een aanrader! Het restaurant was tijdens ons verblijf nog niet open omdat ze nog volop de start van het nieuwe seizoen aan het voorbereiden waren. In de buurt zijn wel verschillende gelegenheden! Geen probleem dus en zeker te begrijpen! 😊
• Martine (8/5): We had a great stay here and would not hesitate to stay again. - Great location, lovely beach decor vibe, great hot shower and friendly staff. A kettle and a fridge would have been good as it was low season when we visited so restaurant wasn’t operating.

• Tessa (8/5): Al het moois van Trincomale dichtbij. Heerlijk restaurant. - De locatie is top! Direct tegenover de populaire beachbar en foodmarket Fernando’s. Je hoeft alleen maar de straat over te steken en je staat op het strand! Het restaurant dat bij de accommodatie hoort is heerlijk, zowel voor ontbijt, lunch en diner. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Er zaten bij aankomst muggen op onze kamer en we kregen direct een elektrische vliegenmepper, een klamboe en een anti-muggen-stekker. We hebben dankzij de hulp van het personeel geen één mug meer gezien op onze kamer. We hebben hier vier fijne nachten gehad. Fernando’s is erg populair, ook voor de feestjes. Hierdoor is er wat geluidsoverlast. Met oordopjes is het te doen. De muziek stopte vaak tussen 11 uur ‘s avonds en 1 uur ‘s nachts, afhankelijk van de dag in de week. Het bed was voor ons wat aan de kleine kant.
• Cezara (10/5): Comfortable Stay Near the Beach - We had an amazing stay here! We really loved the design and the overall vibe of the place – it feels stylish yet welcoming. The room was spacious, clean, and cozy, making it very comfortable. Another great aspect is the location, as it’s close to the beach, which made our stay even more enjoyable. There was a party every night with loud music. It wasn’t a big issue for us, but if you are a sensitive sleeper, it might not be ideal.

• Josefa (7/5): - Die Gastgeber waren sehr nett. Allerdings war die Unterkunft relativ teuer, für das, was man bekommen hat. Es war alles sauber, aber es gab nur eine kalte Dusche. Außerdem ist die Dusche mitten im Raum ohne Duschwand oder Ähnliches, sodass das ganze Bad nach dem duschen überflutet war. Die Rollos mussten wir den ganzen Tag unten lassen, da uns sonst die Gäste aus dem Restaurant ins Zimmer schauen konnten. Den größten Abzug gibt es für das Frühstück. Für Übernachtungsgäste finde ich es viel zu teuer, da die Übernachtung an sich schon eine der teuersten auf unserer Reise war. Es wäre schön gewesen, wenn Übernachtungsgäste einen kleinen Rabatt bekommen hätten oder man gegen einen bestimmten Aufpreis Frühstück dazu buchen kann. Wir sind dann zum Frühstück ins Cafe eine Straße weiter, da gab es dieselben Speisen für die Hälfte des Preises.
• Lorena (8/5): - La habitación es super bonita, cómoda y limpia. El personal muy atento y la ubicación es ideal porque tiene la playa al lado y está rodeado de restaurantes y tiendas. Al estar en el centro se escucha absolutamente todo y la música está muy alta hasta tarde. Para mí no fue un problema pero mi marido no pudo dormir. También añadir que el baño es pequeño y cuando te duchas literal se moja todo, por el precio que pagas es un poco incómodo pero no un drama. Me gustaría hacer una recomendación personal y opcional: tener una pequeña nevera sería ideal.
• Isabel (8/5): - Habitación básica pero tienes todo lo necesario y está muy limpio. El aire acondicionado funciona bien y la cama era cómoda. La comida del bar/restaurante es de lo mejor que hemos probado en el país, aunque el servicio es excesivamente lento (hay que ser paciente). El personal es muy amable y alegre, y se nota el buen rollo. En la zona del restaurante suelen tener la música bastante alta hasta tarde, pero con unos tapones pudimos dormir bien.
• gaia (9/5): Un posto carino dove stare a Uppuveli - Camera essenziale ma nuovissima e pulitissima . Staff super carino e sorridente. Lo spazio esterno della camera è un po’ sacrificato ma la comodità è la bontà del bar / ristorante annesso compensano . Davvero carino

• Sara (10/5): Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo - Camera vicina alla spiaggia e dotata di tutti i sevizi; ottimo il ristorante (abbiamo cenato e pranzato lì e tutti i piatti sono stati eseguiti a regola d’arte). Staff molto gentile e cortese (anche nel welcome al nostro arrivo), pronto ad aiutarti se necessario. Niente, forse un armadio in stanza sarebbe stato utile.

• Alexandra Bahar (10/5): Personal unglaublich nett und Unterkunft einfach top! - Eine der besten Unterkünfte auf unserer Reise. Simpel und sauber. Alles was man braucht. Die Lage ist perfekt - nah am Strand und am Geschehen. Vor allem abends. Das Essen ist auch sehr lecker, wir sind dafür auch ohne Buchung immer wieder gekommen. Wenn ihr euch einen Gefallen tun wollt: probiert den Schoko-Brownie!! Wir würden hier immer wieder herkommen, tolle Unterkunft, tolles Personal, super Essen! Nichts

• Jonathan (8/5): Great! - Staff were great! The rooms were basic but clean. Location was perfect! Great restaurant, we recommend the Homemade Brownie and Ice Cream! No hot water. It was noisey at night from the restaurant playing their music. A shelf or hanging space would have been good in the rooms.
• Isabella (10/5): Fab location, staff, and value! - Spacious room with AC, fantastic location, and the friendliest staff! We spoke to everyone who worked there and even made friends with Lion (the cat), and they truly made our stay memorable. At one point we struggled getting cash out, and the owners took us into the city without second thought to help us. Fabulous food and drink too. Couldn’t recommend this place more!
• Gabriela-nicoleta (10/5): Amazing accomodation, amazing people, amazing place!! - The location is amazing! It couldn t be better! Very close to the beach and very close to the gratest beach bar!! The room was clean, with all you need. The owner was very helpful, he helped us with all our requests, also, we received a free lunch with local food. The breakfast is very good, try Avocado toast! We highly recommend it and we will return for sure! To be improved: hoț water at the shower, but this is because i M not used to wash myself with cold water( my husband was ok:)))

Very good value for money as well - highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to stay in Uppuveli. Only thing is the music was a bit loud in the evening when I was trying to sleep. Maybe this could’ve been quieter after 11pm

• Anonymous (10/5): Staff friendliness combined with comfortable, clean rooms was why I’ll return and stay here. Loved it - The rooms were clean and big. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Everyday they worked hard to make sure our stay was fantastic. You aren’t going to find a better location as this is right in the middle of lots of restaurants with beach access right across the street. Would stay here again with no hesitation. A/C, WiFi, friendly staff, comfortable beds, great location. Loved it!

Nights are seems different cuz of the ambiance colors and light system, The food was amazing an in the extremely rush hour also the staff maintained the service, timing, and special smile on their face with friendly manner, The beverages also very very tasty and my favorite was “ Local Kella “ cocktail the story behind the cocktail was so hilarious the every little thing, they showing hospitality, kind, peace and love so basically I like the property, people and Sri Lankan Hospitality

• Alexandra (5/5): Passable - The location is perfect - very close to the beach and restorants, helpful staff, strong wi-fi - very convinient for the remote work. It would be nice to set up some extra hangers or shelves, also there was jus one plug. But the most negative moment were the repair works the restoran. This kind of things should be anounsed in advance, one of the reason to chouse this place were the good reviews concerning the cafe, but in fact it was in renovacion. There were no pleasure to sit on the terrace due to smell and noise during the day. The discount was given after insisting only.

• Happy (10/5): it was wonderful - We stayed in several hotels on the island. And the best impression was left by this hotel. It is not big at all, but very cozy. There are good towels (it turns out that other hotels have problems with the quality of towels). There is hot water. And the rooms themselves are clean. Two hooligan cats live on the territory))))) As for the music, it is not loud and plays only until 10 p.m. The hotel also has a cafe with a chef who deserves a Michelin star 🫶. In the hotel and the cafe are done with style and very nice. Next time we will definitely come back here Our vacation was too short

• Di (9/5): In the heart of Uppuveli - The rooms are just a few steps from Uppuveli’s beach and the main bars and restaurant. Rooms are spacious and new. The staff is very friendly and available, they will give you the best suggestion to enjoy the area. The restaurant has amazing food, from breakfast to dinner, we loved every meal we had there.

• Susan (8/5): First time in Trincomalee! - Location was perfect - just minutes from the beach, and the staff were lovely! The room was spacious and comfortable. The accommodation had a lovely 'chilled out' vibe, and the food was delicious (although I only ate there once) - good value too. They also gave me a complimentary breakfast smoothie on the morning of my departure, which was a lovely gesture! There was nothing I really didn't like but the electricity was a bit glitchy, therefore no lights or air con when that happened. May have been the weather, and they worked hard to fix the supply. The shower was luke warm at best (although the weather was very hot, so that was bearable!) A kettle in the room would have been nice, although I appreciate that not everyone wants that, and staff were very happy to give me a mug of hot water for my teabag every morning! Thank you 😊

• Alyssa (10/5): Capital Trinco is one of the best accommodations in Trincomalee. The area is so laid back, peaceful and relaxing. It’s n - It is situated very close to the beach and a lot of restaurants. Capital even has their own restaurant. The staff, especially the owner Suresh, were very accommodating even before we arrive. They helped us book the tours as well. I also love their resident kittens: Lion and Bagheera!
