Guest Reviews

- Lupton (10/5): Lovely place - Lovely man running the place, gave us lots of good information and recommendations for places to eat, did even provide a discount for breakfast at one of the places however we had to leave to early to use which was unfortunate. Bed was so comfortable and there was a radio put on in the room which made it feel even more homely. Lovely facilities, if youre in the area it is a great place to stay Cant really fault anything other than some of the surrounding restaurants didnt have many vegetarian/ vegan options

- Fasilat (8/5): Great - Cleanliness and comfortable Nothing
- Cregg (10/5): -
- Mary Teresa (1/5): Totally unsuitable - We were unable to contact the owner by phone or doorbell to gain entry, but we lost our first full day trying to gain entry. This place is definitely not as described on booking.com and should not be on booking.com as holiday accommodation as you would definitely not want to stay here. Everything about it
- Mavis (10/5): - Herr Peter ist sehr nette Mann.

- Harry (6/5): Felt like we were living in Paul house and was not wanted. - The price was good. Caretaker living on the premises call Paul which we found him to be rude he made us feel uncomfortable. There was a lot of personal stuff in the bedroom like someone clothes in the wardrobe.
- Alison (5/5): Passable - The bed was comfortable, kitchen facilities were very good and all was clean. The bedroom only had one single socket, which was not in reach of the bed. There was no bedside light.
- Annie (10/5): Exceptional -

- Jayden01 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kieran (10/5): Friendly Comfy Fabulous Peaceful!!! - Everything, from the welcome I received to to my goodbye from Peter. My room was extremely comfortable the en suite bathroom amazing!! The road soooo quiet and peaceful and a lovely 5 minute stroll into Town! Thoroughly recommend 5🌟 Nothing couldn’t find a fault!!!
- Karen (7/5): Location was great, price very good and owner accommodating with our late arrival. - Location was great. The other guests were very noisy and could have been more considerate when they came in late. Also the glass panel above the bedroom door was annoying as the light from the lounge shone right in our bedroom.
- Mick (5/5): Nice friendly host. Warm comfortable bed. Nice communal shower. Quiet location. Breakfast not great. - It was a make your own breakfast from whatever was available on counter or in presses. Very basic. Room was adequate and bed was comfortable. Breakfast options. Continental only. Although i think you could possibly cook a hot breakfast if desired. Too much likechard work for me. A properly laid out varied selection of fresh breakfast items cereals, fruit, yougherts would have been more welcoming. A bit rough and ready
- Joseph (10/5): The host is amazing! -
- Steven (8/5): Very good -
- Erin (4/5): Disappointing - Good location. Luckily no one else was staying at the property whilst I was there so I had the bathroom to myself. Unclean.
- Matenga (10/5): our new home. quite and clean! - my girlfriend and I spent two nights here last week. We were on a low budget exploration of Ireland. It was easy to reach by bus 980 from Dublin. From the main bus stop in the twon you walk only 12 minutes. So we could enjoy our drinks in town and later walked "home". The taxi was quite cheap but we opted to walk into town. The place is clean and you get breakfast. Pascall, the gentleman who served us is a cool mature man who is particular about healthy foods. For instance, he has low fat and low sugar food for breakfast. We quite enjoyed the home made scones, the calm environment and peaceful home-like hospitality and facilities. This is a to go place when in Carrickmacross and nearby towns like Ardee, Dundalk, etc. We are planning to make is our regular weekend or holiday place. to be honest, what i didnt like is not finding anything to complain about. The place is just superb. We really enjoyed our stay. We also did not take photos but next time we go there, we shall take photos and share with you here!
- Jessie (3/5): In a word :Avoid - Nothing First impression was that I was in the wrong place; there was washing drying in the entrance porch, and bits of a hoover lying around. When I went to use the bathroom, I saw that cleaning product had been poured into the toilet, but there was a turd floating in it!! Obviously the person who cleaned it, didn't look, before putting in the product. There were non-flushable face wipes on the toilet, which is probably why the water in the sink was slow to go down. They should never be used in a toilet! Although there were fresh towels in the bedroom, there were damp (used?) towels, behind the door which again suggests a rushed and careless cleaning job. The pipes made a racket when someone in the house used the water at around midnight, yet I saw nobody in the house. The decor was horrendous.. Like a bachelor flat in the 1970:s. I didn't use the shower, but it looked clean. There was a plastic flower in a pint glass in the bedroom, by way of decoration! The view from the window was onto a yard where everything was covered in black plastic.. Although it was midsummer, the heating was on full belt when I arrived back around 10pm, having spent the evening outdoors in order to avoid spending any longer than necessary in such a depressing bedroom. The curtains were so light, they let the light in at dawn. I can't remember how much it cost , but I would happily have paid extra to stay somewhere less depressing. Room for improvement, and maybe getting advice from someone who knows how to make a place look inviting.
- Olga (7/5): Good -
- Emma (10/5): I was working and the hosts couldn't have been more accommodating. - I loved the offer of a free breakfast, I was just in a rush that morning so, didn't have time to enjoy it properly. I did grab a croissant on my way out and it was lovely to have for my walk to the bus. The bed was really comfy and the house has a really welcoming feel. I was contacted by the owner to let me know that the address on booking.com is incorrect and they gave me the correct directions. Hopefully the website will let them update it soon..
- Michael (5/5): Poor - There was no breakfast. No sign of owner in the morning.Left without. No sign of owner at check in Owner when he turned up was confused as to what room I was in. Gave me one , then switched me to another, no mention of breakfast
- Kimberly (8/5): Peter was kind and even drove me to the bus station. Breakfast is self serve. - The location is great- a quick walk to town. Smoking was allowed outside only which was great except that area was outside my bedroom window.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adnan (1/5): Bad - Property looking good I’m Hi there,
I was stay last night kilmactrasna cottage my booking no is 4509418294.
Am not happy for this room because of following reason
1. Shower water is stay in shower half of my feet in water means drains blocked.
2. Boiler making noise when on and off every five minutes.I wasn’t sleep till 4am.
3.I think birds stay in roof night time making noise.
4.cooker faulty
5.no milk for breakfast
6.In booking it says deluxe double room with shower but shower and toilet are separate and sharing.
- Paul (9/5): Superb - Friendly greeting and all well explained.
Good location. Nothing.
- Danny (10/5): Exceptional - Great host, location, and value for money. Very friendly and helpful. The only issue is the address on booking.com which shows the cottage to be on the opposite side of the road which made it harder to find.
- Phiwokuhle (5/5): Passable -
- Lunn (1/5): Avoid - Breakfast was a box of cornflakes left on counter top and a banana Room not en suite. No breakfast
- Luke (10/5): A delightful home from home - Lots of space. Excellent facilities. There was nothing to dislike.
