• Nikita (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful apartments that occupy an entire floor. The apartment has heating, a stove, and hot water (you need to turn on the water heater). Very beautiful views of the mountains and the canal from the windows. Douglas is extremely hospitable — he recommended a discounted tour to me, always answered all my questions, and was very helpful. A few things to keep in mind: the apartment is on the third floor with no elevator (the hosts themselves live on the first and second floors), and it’s about a 30-minute walk to the center of Ushuaia.

Every space was so clean, new spunge, tea towel, etc. The kitchen has everything you need, but also pans that are new, so nice! Especially if you been to hostels before;) The owners are so nice! I forgot to buy some oil for cooking and they walked up the stairs to let me use their oil. The bed is super comfortable, shower is nice and warm with good pressure. It is in a nice and quiet neighbourhood but you can walk to the city centre easily. Supermarkets are really nearby as well. Would definitely stay here again!:)

Nice flat, comfortable bed, drinkable water in a barrel , tea and coffee available some things were a bit warned out ie the taps, the heating was not very easy to regulate the wifi did not work on one of our devices

• Meg (10/5): What a wonderful surprise! Very pleased with my stay. - This was a wonderful place to stay. The family were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They were able to pick me up from the airport with a sign (additional charge) and bring me to the room, I left my bags there as I was very early. They let me check in as soon as the other guests left and cleaning was complete. The apartment was very large, and very clean. They made sure I had everything I needed. Great wifi connection and fully compact kitchen. They also supplied some universal adapters which I thought was a nice touch. It is about a 35 minute walk to the Main Street but I think the views from the windows were worth it :) I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone!
• Chris (10/5): Exceptional - A fantastic place to stay in Ushuaia - especially for those staying slightly longer. For a very reasonable price you get a lovely fully functioning flat with bedroom, bathroom, sitting room with television, dining room and complete kitchen. The apartment is located above the family home of the owner but is completely self-contained so you have all the privacy you need. We stayed for seven night over Christmas and cooked for ourselves - the place felt like home very quickly! The apartment is well provisioned with all the essentials such as cooking equipment. The apartment is located in a quiet residential area close to the start point of the Martial Glacier hike and other walks in that area but is 25 minutes from the centre. However, Ivan very kindly picked us up from the bus terminal and his brother drove us to the Tierra del Fuego National Park for a very good price when we wanted to visit. He made it clear they they were happy to provide transport for a better rate than local taxis - on one day they were unable to take us out due to Christmas commitments (quite reasonable) he told us exactly how to get to the location using the bus. The local supermarket and Western Union are less than 10 minutes walk away. Although Ivan speaks almost no English (and we speak almost no Spanish!) communication was always straightforward via WhatsApp and Google translate. The level of service and attention were outstanding, Ivan regularly checked (via WhatsApp) whether we needed our sheets and towels changing and, when very strong winds caused the boiler to shut down (apparently a safety valve broke) the handyman of the family (I never clarified his relation) was up and had it fixed within ten minutes of us noticing the boiler was off. He also came up and fixed a broken light at 10pm with a smile and a laugh - we really weren't expecting them to deal with it until the morning! Nothing.
• Melanie (10/5): Excellent place with a very helpful host - Ivan is very accommodative and helps with everything. He is always reachable and very supportive. The flat is beautiful with a wonderful view over Ushuaia and the Beagle Channel. It was also great that I could do laundry after returning from Antarctica and Ivan helped me out with the detergent. Thank you very much for having me and making my stay wonderful.
