Guest Reviews
- Francesca (9/5): - Beautiful location! Our tent was quite spacious and had a nice view of the sea. The shared bathrooms were kept clean and the food is nice. There is also a space in front of the tent to dry clothes. We wanted to pay cash in colones but they somehow wanted it in dollars. The conversion rate they offered would have been so bad that it made more sense to pay the % and pay via paypal.
- Andrew (8/5): - Magnificent location. The hotel was empty and closed when we arrived, and we had no cellular tower access. We had to ask at nearest house how to contact the hotel.
- Breslava (7/5): It was wonderful. I hope to be back! - Location was superb! And the locals and staff were super lovely! Would love to go back! Cleanliness level could be better (mainly bathrooms) and DIY issues and food portions could be slightly bigger.
- benedetta (7/5): - The hostel is in a super location, spectacular beach and on the hike trail to other stunning places The dorm area looks forgotten, almost abandoned and WiFi does not reach
- Elodie (8/5): -
- Jose Manuel (10/5): - Si
- Sarah (10/5): Wild paradise - This is a rustic camp set in beautiful wild Costa Rican coastline.
- Claudia Karina (10/5): -
- Mudráková (10/5): - Very nice accommodation with a beautiful view and very friendly staff.
- Annette (5/5): - Super Lage, herrlicher Garten, einsamer wunderschöner Strand!
- Morgan (10/5): An absolute gem - This place is unreal. You arrive by boat to their private little beach. The grounds are lovely and there’s paths in both directions to walk to other towns and beaches. You can find a myriad of private beach’s and coves along the paths. We stayed in the green tents and loved it. There were hermit crabs at night and toucans in the morning. Breakfast was delicious. The staff are very kind and accomodating - book your national park tickets in advance! We missed out but the accomodation found us an alternative so we could still have a chance to look at the amazing flora and fauna in this area. They really go the extra mile. Not to be missed, this place is a gem
- flore2023 (8/5): - The location is fab. You can get directly from Sierpe by public boat. Nice Soda nearby for food. Good food at the restaurant . Really helpful waiter in restaurant. The staff was fed up with something or another, not making eye contact.
- Greeson (10/5): In touch with nature and excellent local hiking - Breakfast and dinner were fine, This is a tent camp so if you like adventure and dont need luxury, this is the place. Tents are family large and weather protected with two cots with mattresses in ours. Dining area is communal with staff doing good job of serving, Food is good. Lots of nature and undeveloped beach hiking. Monkeys everywhere. This is the uncrowded launch point for Corcovado and we booked our tour with the camp operator. Our guide was great and sharing of all the Corcovado nature. We were there NewYears 2026 and the camp was uncrowded. The camp fully met our expectation as we were ready for a more remote and less developed facility. The camp fully provided for our needs.
- Mario (8/5): -
- YOHEI (10/5): One of the best hostel in Centeal America - All staffs are very kind and friendly.
The place is the center of nature and looked some animals.
Foods are delicious and they adjusted breakfast time by the tour. I think they have vegetarian option.
The tours are veru organized. It is better if there is fan in room.
Muchas gracias Gabriel!
Sitio tranquilo, y se come bien.
- Thomas (10/5): -
- Rianne. D (8/5): - prachtige locatie douche werd niet warm
- Tracy (10/5): Amazing experience at Dreams Corcovado - Amazing place, right on a beautiful beach and hiking trail. Surrounded by rain forest and an abundance of wild animals and birds.
We had a wonderful 4 day stay, and would loved to have stayed longer.
The staff, food, and total experience was one of the best we've experienced in our travels around Costa Rica.
We'd love to visit again, and highly recommend. Nothing
Credetemi, voto 11!
- Almela Egea (9/5): -
- Hugo (10/5): Exceptional - Great hostel in a very very nice spot that you can reach with the boat from sierpe
Staff is also great
I recommend !!
- Rhiannon (8/5): Beautiful location, friendly staff, glamping, - The hotel upgraded our room for no charge to the Glamping tent instead of the dorms, so my friend and I were happy about that. The views are incredible, lots of wildlife, local community engagement, breath taking beaches. It legit feels like you are on a deserted island, but you can still buy apretados 🍦 The things I didn't like was the guest access to the kitchen is very limited. You can only get in if a staff member let's you in which is understandable because people live in the building that the kitchen is in. With that said, you can't leave your food in the tents because of wildlife so you really can only get your food out when staff is around.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Conor (10/5): The location is mind blowing and so peaceful. Gabriel is awesome! - Gabriel and the staff were awesome! He helped me book a last minute Corcovado tour and boat back to sierpe, as well as letting me know about wildlife spotted in the area. He was so super helpful! The tents are very comfortable with electricity and a fan. The location is in the middle of the jungle on a beautiful beach with so much wildlife around. It’s about a 10km round trip to Drake bay through the jungle so make sure you bring groceries if you plan on cooking.
- Maria (9/5): It´s right in the jungle, pure adventure! -
- Stephanie (10/5): The beauty, the solitary nature, the accommodations, the staff, one of the best vacations I’ve ever - What are the most incredible places to stay ever breakfast? Meals were exemplary. Gabriel was the best concierge. Everything was above and beyond. Absolutely nothing
- Tom (8/5): Amazing location to explore beaches of osa peninsula - Exceptional location, although hard to reach with the car. Food was tasty and not overpriced. Nature around was overwhelming and stunning!
- Kincses (10/5): Absolutely amazing nature experience, friendly staff, peaceful atmosphere. - I would give 11/10 if I could. This is I think the best place we have ever stayed at. The location is wonderful, so quiet and peaceful, far from everything in its own bay, feels like you have a private beach (which is literally 50 meters from the tents). The property is surrounded by forest, so there are many exotic birds and animals around. Despite being surrounded by nature, everything is clean, and you have everything you need, including drinking water. They served us tasty breakfast (although it was a bit small portion). They were even able to accommodate our friend’s numerous food restrictions. The staff were especially nice, they remembered our names, our programmes, and needs. They always made sure we had everything and were super nice. In the end we decided to stay 2 extra days, because we had such a nice time. Thank you for everything! The food was expensive (but you’re in the middle of nowhere so it makes sense), but there is a kitchen where you can cook. The kitchen is not too well equipped, but with a bit of creativity you can make it work. It’s not the properties fault, just a heads up, that there is no store around, so make sure to buy stuff if you plan on cooking.
- Jane (8/5): Fabulous retreat in glorious natural surroundings. - An amazing location next to lovely beach, in the forest, good walks, good food and friendly staff. Gabrielle was a great host who always tried to help. Good trips available. Showers and lighting were unreliable.
- Edna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mariana (8/5): Very good - The staff is very nice and helpful. All the food is very good, nice dinners, diferent menu every day. Sleeping in the middle of the forest and close to the beach is very nice, you can hear the sea at night.
To walk to drake bay village is 1hr, but in a very beautiful walk, mostly by the sea. We both got really badly bitten during the nights, I woke up one morning with more than 30 bites, all in cluster and locations that were covered by sheets, possibly bed bugs. I told the owner and she said that they were going to review all beds and desinfect.
The bay is very beautiful, but very strong currents, you can’t swim in that beach. But just 5 min walking there are a bunch of other small beaches that you can swim. But take in consideration that some tours will not pick you up in the hotel bay.
- Rutger (7/5): Stunning location, private beaches, no AC - Very friendly personnel. Beautiful location. It's so humid because it is in the rainforest. There is no AC so your clothes won't dry. If that's not for you, you should find something else.
- Aubrey (10/5): Exceptional - We loved staying here! The employees were so friendly and made our stay very welcoming. The property is stunningly beautiful and we appreciated the view of the ocean from our camp, the flowers, the wildlife. The food was delicious too. Overall this was a unique and highly enjoyable experience.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - This lodge is a hidden gem! From the stunning surroundings to the warm, attentive service, everything was perfect. The accommodations were unique at the edge of the jungle and ocean view, the meals outstanding, and the overall experience magical. I can't wait to return! The team was really helpful to organize tours and transport as well. And best: The most beautiful beach just at your footsteps.
- Laura (10/5): Incredible! So glad we chose this place - The location is incredible. You can watch the sunset and even see whales if you are lucky. The staff helped us sort so much and even helped buy us the bus tickets and organised a taxi from Sierpe to Palmar Norte for a good price. The bunk beds were a little uncomfortable
- Elói (10/5): Exceptional - The staff is very helpful and nice!
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Location amazing felt like I was on a dessert island.
Swimming great, walking great.
If you love nature it's perfect. Sheets on bed where not cotton made it really hot to lay on so used a towel.
Zip broken on tent but not a problem for us.
Could do with up grading the chairs so you can relax outside tent in comfort.
- Elias (9/5): A Beautiful Escape Enhanced by Exceptional Staff - Our four-night stay at Corcovado Adventures was made incredible thanks to Gabriel. Always ready to help with anything from planning a walk to preparing two cocktails whenever we felt like it. He was always up for a chat as well. Gabriel's friendly and helpful nature is the biggest asset to this lodge.
The lodge is beautifully located, far enough from Agujitas de Drake to avoid the tourists but still within an hour's walking distance if needed (we didn't enjoy the town and suggest avoiding it though). The many private beaches around the lodge were a highlight. There's no need to worry about crowds; if one beach has people, a short five-minute walk will lead you to a completely secluded spot with a beautiful view of the Pacific. During our stay, we experienced a couple of power cuts due to bad weather, which caused our private shower to malfunction as the water pumps stopped working. While there are communal showers available, it was a bit inconvenient since we had booked a bungalow specifically for the private shower.
Overall, the lodge itself met our expectations based on the pictures, but the exceptional staff made the experience even better. Despite the humid weather and shower issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. While we didn't book activities through Corcovado Adventures, we can't imagine any problems as most operators on the peninsula use the same boat companies.
- Nuno (7/5): Good -
- Marta (10/5): Secluded and unique! - We loved our stay in one of the beachfront tents here. Very unique experience! The included breakfast was great, as well as the dinner and drink options. The tents had electricity and we were provided with a fan, which made for a comfortable sleep. Just charge your devices in the common areas or you may cause a power outage that may not be restored until the next morning if the staff have gone to bed. The only thing that can be improved on is cleaning up the little bits of litter near the bathrooms and installing toilet seats on all the bathrooms (there are only a couple with a seat). Keep in mind that this place is a bit inaccessible and will require some walking, unless you request a boat drop-off with a wet landing, which can be arranged by the staff, or just let your captain know if you’re arriving from Sierpe. The other option is walking from Drake Bay; it’s about an hour hike, so if you’re trekking with all your stuff, I recommend setting out no later than 3pm so you can take your time getting there, have a little break at Cocalito beach, and then continue on to arrive around sunset. Google says it’s only a 20-minute taxi ride from Drake Bay, but it costs around $40 so your best bet is a boat or walking the trail that goes along the beach—it’s actually a very beautiful and easy hike.
- Malin (8/5): An exotic and adventurous stay - We loved The location and the staff. The bungalows were a bit worn down. An upgrade of the bungalows could be a good idea.
- Christy (10/5): Exceptional - The staff are wonderful, the location is beautiful and out of the way. This is a magic place!
- Rasa (10/5): Beautiful place with amazing personnel! So much love and care in everything they do! - It is impossible not to like such a place! Beautiful location, just right on a beautiful little beach. Very comfortable room. Sound of the ocean, during the night.
And the most important: 10+++ goes to every single person who works for this place! Thank you! Your sincere care, efforts and attention were the best out of all out 3 weeks trip!
- Laura (9/5): Best location ever - Great location in the middle of the forest A bit small for the amount of girls in the room
- Daniele (8/5): Very good -
- Jasmin (8/5): Very good - Friendly staff, the location is very nice and some of the tents are right at the beach, lots of wildlife around, enough bathrooms which is good because they host often big groups of people Sometimes it could take a while to get food because of the amount of people, food was okay but I got bad diarrhea during my stay there, the hostel kitchen didn't look very inviting for cooking
- Gillgill999 (7/5): Recommended, good value for money - The location is superb - surrounded by forest, away from the bustle of Drakes Bay, backing on to its own safe beach. The staff are charming and very helpful, and did everything possible to help us eg by booking tours, making sure we got on the right boat each day, and arranging meals to suit our tour schedule. The food in the restaurant is good and reasonably priced. Our room ( a bungalow), like all the others, had a lovely view through the trees to the sea. In the hotel grounds we say sloth, macaws and a semi resident toucan. The room was rather spartan: the only furniture was one bed, there was not even a bedside table or a hook on which to hang clothes, and not enough light to read. No coffee maker or ac in the room as listed on Booking.com. The hotel is much used by groups, and this can make it rather unpleasant for independent travellers who definitely take second place; meal service is painfully slow if you coincide with a group.
- Ivan (9/5): Great location, friendly family run establishment. On the beach and in the jungle - Location Basic washing facilities
- Silvia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Reetta (9/5): Superb - Very good location, nice beaches around and the dorms are next to the forest.
The staff is friendly and helpful, they made me feel very welcomed.
Tours are easily organized from the hostel and prices are pretty much the same as everywhere else.
Food was good. The kitchen was a bit messy and difficult to label food since there were no markers. There was only one knife so a few more would be great.
- David (9/5): 5 days in Corcovado - the location, the peace and quiet the
abundant wildlife and fantastic swimming on the beach. We booked tours to the national park, the guides were excellent. Michelle and Gabriel were really exceptional too.
- Janice (4/5): Loved the location but expected the accommodation to be a bit better for the price - The location is superb
The staff were helpful and provided us with an extra room fan The bed only had a inadequate bottom sheet on a mattress. During sleeping the sheet moved so you were on bare mattress - not hygienic
The property is in general disrepair
- Ramona (8/5): Stunning location, amazing staff, budget rooms. - The location is just stunning, you can’t get any better than this! Plenty of postcard beaches left and right. You really feel you are in the middle of wilderness. Plenty of birds and animals coming to say hi at breakfast! Keep in mind it’s a hostel type of location. Very basic accommodation, simple food etc. Value for money you can’t except more. But keep in mind that if you don’t consider yourself a budget traveler or if you like the comfort a room can provide, I would expand my search past this place.
- Daniel (8/5): Very good - Location Needs Maintenance and cleaning
- Kasia (8/5): Very good - Hostel is located on a beautiful area, in the jungle, next to it there are beautiful paths next to the ocean, a lot of empty beaches. Food is also very good. Before I came, I got a message from the owner with all the necessary informations. Very rusty lockers.
One evening the light was not working.
A lot of insects, but its a normal thing as we are in the jungle.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location along with friendly and helpful staff,. Perfect mix for a great stay.
- Kairi (7/5): Good -
- Rhiannon (9/5): Superb - A great place to stay if you want to be immersed in nature and see lots of wildlife! On the property I saw capuchin and howler monkeys, tucans, macaws, iguanas, geckos, a juvenile sloth and one night a tapir. It's also along the Drake Bay costal path where you can observe wildlife, visit different beaches or walk into town (takes about 40mins). The onsite restaurant serves delicious food at a reasonable price. The included breakfast was well worthwhile! It's also easy to join tours as the tour operators can pick you up and drop you off from the beach at the property. The property can also organise the tours for you at the same price as other operators and from what I saw seemed to be more intimate groups. If you're looking for luxury accommodation this isn't the place for you, otherwise highly recommended!
- Ozline (10/5): The best experience in entire Costa Rica. - Amazing stay. The nicest staff in whole Costa Rica. They gelped us with everything. Begore arrival i got a whatsapp with reccomandations for tours and suggestion to take the boat and where to park. The stuff helped us every day with getting boats, tours, with our luggage and desired different foods. Twice they even changed the menu for us, because I loved there freshly made pantanas (bananas baked) and once my boyfriend got a special filet mignon, they made for him.
The tour was booked via Corvovado, the tourguide picked us up here amd had lunch with us. Freisne was amazing. The guys Gabriel and Victor are the best staff we met! We met so many families and really enjoyed our stat. Everything was perfect Seriously nothing!
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - I had an amazing stay at Corcovado Adventures, the staff is exceptionally friendly and helped me with tour planning. I recommend booking the tour directly with Corcovado Adventures since the pieces are very reasonable and less expensive than booking with a thorn-party tour operator. Everything was very nice
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the vues ! The staff was very friendly!
- Jan (8/5): Very good - Great location surrounded by nature. There is a beach and trail right away. Fair admission and english speaking staff.
- Laura (8/5): great spot for exploring along the coast! does the trick - great location, staff were friendly and helpful and restaurant and beach area were nice. dorm kitchens, bathrooms and dining area were dirty. !!Do not leave any personal belongings/food bags outside of lockers or bed!!
- Veronika (10/5): One of the last paradises on earth - You are in the middle of the undisturbed nature. That's how the paradise looks like, feels, and sounds as the nights and days here.
- Etienne (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent place to stay if you want to be proximous to the nature.
We highly recommend also taking a walk along the multiple beaches.
Food in the evening is excellent: go for the menu. Staff could have cleaned the room between 2 nights.
- Katrin_123 (10/5): Here you can relax - A hotel like in paradise, here you can relax away from crowded tourist places. The staff is extremely nice and friendly. For me one of the most beautiful places in Drake Bay. I will definitely come back.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
