Guest Reviews
- elaine (7/5): It grew on me but I would not recommend - Staying in an authentic home in the heart of the city. It was clean. Host was flexible. 3 flights of stairs unexpected; hard, hard beds and flimsy covers.
- Valérie (9/5): Great apartment in Naples - We spent 4 nights in this beautiful apartment, well located (about a ten-minute walk from the train station and the historic center). The apartment is large, clean, quiet, and has a nice terrace overlooking an interior courtyard accessible from the living room, kitchen, and one of the bedrooms. The owners (Gino, Martha ....) are welcoming and friendly. My son had dropped his sunglasses in the courtyard, and Gino gave him new ones. They live in the building and were able to store our suitcases on the day of departure. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Naples. It didn't bother us, but the building doesn't have an elevator and there are about fifty steps to climb to go to the apartment.
- Matt (9/5): Lovely apartment, helpful host and a good location for the Centric Storica - The outdoor area where we sat in the morning and evening before going out. A few more glasses, and there was a strong fragrance smell in some of the rooms.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Lovely apartment, great host, close to the train station. - Marta was very obliging, we arrived early in the day and we had discussed early entry if she didn’t have guests the previous night, we were able to communicate over a number of messages, as the time we specified for arrival changed do to delays with the train. there were power blackouts but I didn’t think Marta could have done anything about the situation, the extreme heat caused problems for others in the complex.
- Sue (8/5): Proceed with caution. Apartment great. Area not so good - Exceptionally clean, huge apartment. Nice to have the 2 terraces accessible from all rooms, although seats weren’t very comfortable so sunbathing not an option. Great for early morning coffee & a drink in the evening though. Washing machine useful & a good drying area Host friendly and although couldn’t speak English, google translate worked well. Only a few minutes walk to main attractions such as Duomo etc. Station was about 10min walk. Hop on hop off bus stop (red route stop 6) was 2 min walk and a great way to get around. We got this to castel nuovo where we then got the blue route bus (stop 1) and this was a beautiful scenic route. Well worth it. We also did the underground caves (Napoli Sutteraneo) which were really interesting. 11mins walk from the apartment. We booked with Viator to do a private guided full day tour of Pompeii, Vesuvius and Herculaneum. It was very expensive but well worth it. We saw everything and didn’t feel at all rushed. They picked us up from our apartment at 08:30 with our cases and dropped us off after our tours, in Sorrento at 17:30. We are now staying at Chalet Lidia in Sorrento which is stunning and the area is idyllic The area! Rough. Dirty. Dark. Graffiti and rubbish everywhere! Wouldn’t like to walk round at night. Felt very intimidating. Our guide for one of our days out was surprised when we were arranging a pick up before we arrived that we had chosen this area and suggested we changed it. I continued with it because of the reviews being so high. In hindsight, I can see why the reviews are so high as it’s a lovely apartment. I’m not sure which area I’d choose if coming again as a lot of Naples is the same. I think I’d probably choose to do a day trip from somewhere else instead. You don’t need more than a day here. I would suggest the morning doing the hop-on-off bus tour but stay on it for the whole 2 circuits. Then get off the red route to see the duomo and do the cave tour. Then get off again for the castel nuovo. And stop 3/4 for lunch . You’ve really done it all then! There are some fairly ok restaurants for lunch near the Duomo. Such a shame about the immediate vicinity though, as the apartment was really lovely with a lot of care gone into the decor etc. if you do decide to stay just the one night then the apartment is a useful location just don’t walk round at night or alone, watch your purse and know what to expect. We were shocked at the rubbish, graffiti & general dirtiness
- David (9/5): Superb - Comfortable apartment, within walking distance of the main train station. The two terraces were wonderful. We liked very much that the apartment was close to the via dei Tribunali, with its access to the city's historic centre.
- Tvrtko (10/5): Beautiful place in the heart of the old city - Friendly host, nice and comfortable apartment, excellent location in the heart of the old city, and, above all - large and beautifful terrace perfect for relaxation. Highly recommended
- Precious (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Excellent accommodation in a great location - Excellent location in the heart of Naples with a quiet balcony area for relaxing after a hectic day sightseeing. Great coffee machine with coffee provided. We misunderstood that three people meant only one bedroom but the host soon sorted this out for us.
- Elitha (8/5): Quiet retreat in busy Naples - The apartment had a private patio which was a lovely retreat from hectic Naples. Apartment was clean and comfortable, albeit a little dated. The host was lovely and provided a drink and snacks on arrival. We booked the apartment because it had two bedrooms as we were travelling with an adult daughter. Was not clear on booking that the second room would not be made available as the first room had three beds and second room would only be unlocked for 4 guests or more.
- Jaroslaw (9/5): Large, comfortable apartment in the downtown with a great, spot for coffee and dining. - Very good location within walking distance of the most interesting attractions in the Old Town, the cathedral, the museum, the Naples underground, and the train station. Large, comfortable apartment with a great, secluded spot for coffee and dining. Extremely kind and helpful hosts. After check-out, you can leave your luggage and spend an extra day in the city. It would be helpful to have more available dishes, glasses, and cups.
- Matthew (10/5): Really lovely stay, would highly recommend - Very clean, comfortable and spacious inside and out. Right in the heart of the tourist centre and within easy reach to walk to the train station, port etc lovely welcoming and helpful owners Nothing
- Enza (10/5): Spacious and Clean - We really appreciated the warm welcome we received by our host and his family when we arrived. We loved the spacious rooms, comfortable beds and little touches, like the large towels, outlets by the bedsides to charge our phones and the beautiful terrace to relax on at the end of the day. Walking distance to the historical district and many sites..Host was responsive to our needs and bent over backwards to accommodate..We would return in a heartbeat.
- Janez (10/5): Amazing apartment with huge terrace in Centro Storico Napoli - Apartment is super clean with all equipment you need. Helpful and kind staff - thank you a lot family Castellano. Located on the edge of Centro Storico and all attractions can be reached by walking. Big plus is a huge terrace (access from kitchen, living room and bedroom!!!). We coule leave our luggage and pick it up later. Super happy to found this apartment, it made our stay in Napoli excellent Nothing to say
- Admir (10/5): Clean, comfortable, and cozy, with a nice terrace - The property was clean, comfortable, and cozy, with a nice terrace. It’s in a good location, and the host was polite, offering us a welcome aperitif.
- Mary (8/5): Nice big apartment that is very comfortable and has the bonus of a quiet balcony. - Nice big apartment quiet and cool. Really liked having the balcony overlooking the inner courtyard. A nice place to retreat too after the bustle of Naples. Could have done with some large cups or mugs for morning tea and coffee and also some better knives for chopping and slicing.
- Tina (10/5): Super Comfortable Apartment - This apartment was exceptional in the midst of a big, busy city. We traveled Italy by bicycle and arrived in Naples ready for a week’s stay before we flew home. This big apartment is clean and very comfortable. We did a lot of sightseeing and really appreciated coming back to the apartment’s great air conditioning and comfort. It has a full kitchen perfect for having breakfast and the washer was a really nice amenity. We enjoyed coffee out on the patio every morning. The owners couldn’t be nicer. They were very kind and helpful to us as we prepared our bikes for travel home. You will not regret booking this apartment for your stay in Naples
- Kathryn (10/5): Lovely Spacius Apartment - Lovely apartment. So big and spacious I thought when walking in, it must have been a communal lounge and kitchen, but it was all for us.
Location was great, on the edge of the city centre (so quiet & peaceful) but still many lovely restaurants around to choose from or a short walk into the hassle and bustle of the city lanes.
A 10 min walk to central station (where lots of tours leave from) or should you want to catch the train down the coast to Sorrento for eg.
Hosts were great, left a welcome drink (spritz) and snacks out for us. They had no problem with a late check-in and were waiting for us (compared to other properties I’d viewed that would charge after 8pm).
Likewise allowed us a later checkout too free of charge.
Very Efficient AC in both lounge and bedrooms which cooled the rest of the apartment very well.
Always plenty of hot water and ample soft fresh towels supplied.
The washing machine was also a bonus as was the Large terrace, it was amazing to enjoy your morning coffee in the sun! (And an evening nightcap!)
Would recommend 100% Suitable for couples, groups of friends or families too.
- Zoltán (10/5): I definitely will stay here again in the future, I can only recommend it. - The host and his family are hospitable, helpful and very kind. They awaited us with a welcome drinks, sweets and snacks. The apartment is very clean, each room is individually air-conditioned. The apartment has 2 large terraces that overlook the quiet inner courtyard and are very cozy.
The apartment is close to the train station and the historic part of the city.
Early arrivals and luggage storage for late departures were also flexibly resolved.
I definitely will stay here again in the future, I can only recommend it.
- Nichola (8/5): A great apartment and the owners were very approachable and friendly. - The property had great facilities, especially the balcony and terrace. The property was very clean and spacious. We would have liked an English Channel on the television, to come back to after a long day, to relax and unwind.
The walk from Naples Centrale Station was a little off putting at night. We did not feel completely safe.
- Daniel (10/5): Spacious well kept apartment great for stays close to Centro Storico. - Spacious, air conditioned, clean, snacks and drink upon arrival, staff were helpful and polite, good location.
